Had to updat from a previous model after many years service. Seems like this one is even better.
Useful kitchen scales
Replaced our previous very old model that had broken after 10+ years.
This model has a darker screen with digits displayed. Not as good as the previous model, but we still like these scales.
Best scales ever.
Love these scales, this is my third one, (2nd one a replacement) they’ve all lasted about 5 or so years (mainly cos the buttons end up not working) but I tried replacing with another one and it just was not as easy to use. I wanted to send the last one back as it was within the guarantee time but would it do on video what it liked to do in practice!? So eventually gave up. But like I say, they are great and easy to use.
O btw I do a LOT of baking!!!!!

A good buy
My previous scales were the same make. I never had a problem with them so l hope the new ones are the same. My previous ones were over 13yrs old.
Really good scale
Having to weigh food daily due to medical condition I require a set of scales that are accurate and reliable. In these I have found them. The original battery is now 15 months old and no problems. They are easy to keep clean but the box is requiring patching up after about 900 opening and closing cycles. Would I recommend, YES.
Great scale, easy to use, improvements on other digital scales.
The fact the screen is not on the measuring plate is great as you don’t have to worry about covering it up with a bowl or pan or unbalancing the scale by pushing your bowl further back in the scale to uncover it. I like the off switch (my previous scale was just auto off) and the fact that there is a separate liquid vs solid measuring button rather than using one button to flip between all measurement types. Well worth the small amount of extra money.
Accurate and sooo pretty!
I love the look of the scales. They are smart, easy to clean, neat and extremely accurate.
We had an earlier version of these scales which we had for years and thought were unbeatable. We were wrong these are better. Would buy again!
Take care when using liquids
An excellent set of scales, this is our second set the first lasting 6+ years. Unfortunately the back of the scales got wet (spilled water when weighing) and ceased to function. Unlike a mobile phone 36 hours in a bag of dry uncooked rice didn’t restore function. The scales are guaranteed for 15 years but were a gift and the giver couldn’t find the original purchase literature so we purchased a new set.
Easy to use
This scale was a really good buy. The settings are easy to use and accurate too. The ml/fl oz setting is really useful as it means you don’t have to use a separate jug to measure out liquids. The only thing is that you have to clean it thoroughly quite often as dirt shows up easily on it.

Have had a problem with these scale as am unable to see read out very well. Want to return scales but the people in service department are making me jump over company policy hurdles and also insist I pay postage to return scales.

Very reliable, stylish & practicable Salter Electronic Kitchen Scales Model 3003
I bought these electronic kitchen scales (Salter Model 3003) to replace an identical set that has give me excellent service over the past 15 years. The fact that these scales are still made is testament to their popularity and durability and based upon my first set of scales which the new ones replace, I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
Good quality, accurate, minor design flaw
This scale replaced a similar one I’d had and used regularly for over a decade. It’s tricky to keep the underneath clean and the latest version has a minor design defect: the on/off and other buttons tend to stick in the on position. Basically it’s a very good scale for the kitchen.
Grea
These are like a cute miniature version of bathroom scales. Work really well, like that the reading can be set to zero with a plate or bowl is set on top.
One small niggle is that the rubber buttons can get caught under the frame. Now used to dealing with it.
Great looking - easy to clean.
Slim and modern design, very nice looking. The glass top is easy to wipe, as is the front panel. I wanted this design because I use kitchen scales to weigh parcels. With this design the display panel is still visible even when the item being weighed is larger than the glass top.
Also has a very clever function to weigh liquids.
Very good set of scales - excelle
I have had a pair of these scales for many years. I have found them to be very user friendly and easy. I have seldom had to change the battery. I don’t know what more could be asked for from set of kitchen scales. I am thrilled to have found that they are still available. They are under guarantee for an extended period so for those who seem to have problems – send them back. It costs nothing.
Superb
I had a previous model of these scales which needed to be replaced after many years of good service. Stupidly I bought the slim platform type which were hopeless because you couldn’t see the weight when a bowl was on the platform. I binned them after 2 weeks and returned to these super scales. They are not as slim as some of the modern scales but the design is so much better as the display sits separately under the platform and is therefore easy to read.
Accurate and easy to change from gm to oz.
Ideal scales at a cheap price - don't place anything ridiculously heavy on it though, its not that strong.
I bought these scales as a like for like replacement of ones i bought 5 years ago. I only replaced the old one because I had stupidly placed a very heavy slow cooker base on top of the old one and cracked the feet so it wouldn’t level correctly. New one like the old one works well, battery lasts forever, and zeroing function means any container than will fit on top of it can be used for measuring.
Excellent scales
These scales are excellent at weighing. The LCD is very clear, changing from various measurements such as pounds to grams is very easy (and you can even use a switch at the bottom to change which one is the default), it has a liquid measure which is very handy, and – what I love best – is that you can weigh additional items to those already on the scale by resetting the LCD to zero (this has a fancy term which I can’t remember). They’re very attractive and clean up well except for under the plate (see below).
I love these and in fact replaced them when the original ones I had stopped working properly after I tried cleaning under the glass. And this is the reason I’ve given the scales 4 and not 5 stars: The glass weighing plate has a space under it which seems to attract bits of flour, crumbs etc and is a hassle to clean. I ruined my last scales by trying to take the plate off so DON’T!!!
Other than this, the scales are brilliant which is why I bought the same ones again.
Accurate kitchen scales.
These scales are accurate and the large glass plate makes means I can weigh items into a variety of different containers with ease. They also look good on my work surface. Only four stars because the overlap of the glass plate at the front means it can be a little tricky to clean.

These are good workaday scales. They do everything you’d expect and are well made. I have some Salter bathroom scales of a similar design. The only gripe I have is that the gap under the glass weighing platform collects fluff (bathroom) and flour (kitchen. He gap is tight and difficult to clean. I have now swapped them both for easy clean alternatives
