It was well packaged but had a few rust marks so I paint sprayed it with special metal paint and it looks great. Easy to follow instructions to fix it to garden fence. Just hope the hedgehogs can read! It’s more for next gen not to block the hole
he company claim they left the steel to go a nice and rusty eventually. I don’t think many people want a rusty sign in their garden plus I am not sure how environmentally friendly that is to the hedgehogs.
I spray painted mine in outdoor silver paint, as I liked the metal colour. Not sure if the h’hogs use the door I created but we have had some action in the garden 🙂
The hedgehog highway signs are of good quality and we have one on the gate and one on a fence to out neighbours.
As yet not got around to fixing to fence as I need someone to help cut a bit away etc. But I was please with the sturdiness and quality. Shame no fixings but I suppose that keeps cost effective.
I misread the description – there is only one in a pack, not a pair, so I have just ordered a 2nd one. Looks lovely 🙂 I think we will varnish it before installing it, rather than let it rust. Would have preferred it to come pre-varnished.
