Solid shin and ankle protectio
These are a standard design shin pad, with an attached ankle protection and neoprene sock strap. They fit to size and are relatively unobtrusive for the type of pad they are. The shin guard is nicely shaped to curve around the leg and not protrude too much. My ten year old daughter has been wearing these for both football and hockey, and they’ve taken some nasty knocks and offered good, safe protection. I prefer these to the simpler shin-only options, as besides giving the ankle bones a cushion they also tend to stay in place more easily.
Son is very impressed with these
These shin pads are really sturdy and well made. They are to replace a pair that I bought where they slip into a pocket on a material ‘sock’ sleeve. They tend to slip out of place, whereas these new ones won’t. You put your foot through the loop of thickly padded material. This passes up on to your leg, leaving the elastic strap under you instep. Then the elasticated strap half way up the shin pad passes through the plastic loop and fastens back on itself with Velcro, around your calf. At 15.99, this is a price I would pay again as my son is very happy with these shin pads and says they are the most comfortables ones he has worn to date.
These Airsfish pads are comfortable and neat-fitting, while giving good protectio
My grandson is a small 10 year old who is passionate and fearless when playing football. Unfortunately, this can and has led to injuries, so shin pads need to be part of his playing gear. He likes his shin pads to be comfortable and neat-fitting and these Airsfish Kids Shin Pads with Ankle Protection fit the bill perfectly.
Add to that the good quality and design of Airsfish pads and you’ve got a winner.
There are cheaper shin pads on the market, but the level of protection and quality of the Airsfish pads make them good value in my book.
high strength and durable design make these shin pads an ideal choice
These Shin Pads with Ankle Protection are a great piece of protective gear for young football players. The high strength and durable design make these shin pads an ideal choice for parents who want to keep their children safe during playtime.
The breathable non-slip extended adjustable straps keep the pads securely in place, while the added ankle protection ensures that children can move freely without worrying about getting injured. The shin pads are also CE certified, so parents can feel confident that they are buying a quality product that meets all necessary safety standards.
Good quality shin pads, with ankle padding
These shin pads are really good quality. My son is 10 next month so I ordered him a size M as it says it’s suitable for ages 9-14yrs. They fit him well, although there was slight gapping in the strap that goes around the calf even though it’s an adjustable strap, but they’re still wearable. The ankle padding is a great idea, as it protects the inner and outer ankle bones, and also keeps the shin pads in place better.
Size XS = up to 7 years
These won’t fit a large kid if you are considering size XS. If your child is large than average you have to remember that size XS will probably fit them up to the age of 5 (maybe 6).
They appear to be alright but they are very average (I always assumed that sports equipment has to be top notch to last ages and to allow to deliver proper performance – not that Ronaldinho would agree with that I’m sure, true-born athletes don’t need all that stuff). This kit is okey’ish and they will do the job but they are not particularly comfortable, of course.
Good shin pad size, but ankle protection lacking?
There’s a point in your life when you use the phrase, ‘back in my day…’ and today is that day. Back in my day the ankle protection had something hard in the material that would protect from kicks and other knocks in football, hockey etc. However this just seems to be a lot of material layers only? So this wouldn’t offer any protection in my opinion. (Just to point out, I haven’t kicked my 8 year old in the ankle whilst wearing this to test my expectation of no protection!) The actual shin pad itself is very good and covers a large area, offering the fullest protection. My 8 year old loves the fact this has to go through your foot so once the shin pads are in place, they are not falling down or moving. Big positive on the product. Great colour (white and gold), it looks really stylish. Overall, disappointed about ankle protection (which I could be wrong about) but everything else is great.
Good quality Shin pads
I ordered these for my son’s football lessons and I can say that these are brilliant. Size wise these are perfect. The elasticated Velcro fastening work well. The pads are sturdy, comfortable to wear and padded. Good quality too. My son loves it.
Only slight issue is that these shin pads are slightly expensive as compared to other similar items available.
Hope you find this review helpful.
So impressed!
These shin pads are for a female child who is football mad and unlike most girls her age who collect shoes and bags she likes to collect shin pads, having a variety of different types she hasnt got these and now shes been given them she hasnt stopped wearing them around the house saying she has to get used to them all with a smile on her face. They look well made and the ankle supports take the shin pads up to the next level as im a great advocate on someone wearing the best thing possible to protect from injury when playing sport and these help support the ankle lessening the chance of twisted ankles. The rear of the shin pads have velcro straps which are good as they give a tight comfortable fit whilst staying secure, but what ive not seen before on shin pads and im no expert but regardless these have a velvet felt type material giving more comfort so its not just the bare shin pad itself. Im so impressed at the way they look, feel and as a parent i can honestly say put against all the others she has these are the best ive seen and she loves them for the same reason along with the actual design on the front of them the look of the etch design on the black on black shin pads take these up several levels making them look twicenthe price they actually are.
quite small
I ordered the XXS side for my daughter who has just turned 3 and the XXS are stated to be for 2 to 4 year olds but they are quite small, so I think (similar to another reviewer) you are best going up one size – they do fit her but looks like a larger set would be fine as well and offer more coverage.
They are neatly made, the stitching is good and the velcro strap seems strong enough to last longer than her legs will fit into these I think! At 3 years old she doesn’t need any shin pads but will have fun putting them on and copying her big brother so it’s worth it for that.
Plastic shell is tough as expected and the inner side padded for comfort – the light blue colour is nice on the eye too.
Knocking off a star for the sizing
They are definitely well made, effective and fit well.
I was pleased to try these ‘Shin Pads Boys CE Certified Airsfish Kids Shin Pads with Ankle Protection, High Strength Shin pads, Breathable Non Slip Extended Adjustable Straps, Protective Football Equipment for Boys and Girls’. I chose the L size, in the black colourway.
The shiny hard plastic section of the shin pad measures about 23cm x 16.5cm at the longest and widest points. It flexes slightly but it is not bendy. The inside of that section seems to have firm foam underneath a velvety polyester material. It will give great protection to your shin area. According to the label you can wash the pads at 30c but not to tumble dry.
I am very happy with these shin pads – they are definitely well made, effective and fit well. The current price of 15.99 is fine, in my opinion, for the quality.
