Smartedge is designed to be simply installed in both small and large gardens with stunning results.

It is flexible so it is perfect to use for curved and straight edges alike and it’s easy installation means that both amateur and professional gardeners can save time and effort in keeping their gardens looking great all year around.

Smartedge is manufactured from heavy duty thick polypropylene and has a unique A-frame system which allows the grass on the top of the edge to grow through and bind the Smartedge to the ground.

Smartedge is extremely hardwearing and when installed, is strong enough to drive over with small garden tractors. The product is light in weight, very weather and stain resistant and non-toxic.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI reshaped and edged the Whole of my lawn 12 years ago, the edging is still going strong and shows no sign of collapsing, as with cheaper materials. I recently dug another bed out of the lawn and used the same edging in the knowledge that it will last.
The reviews commenting on the plastic fixing pins not being sturdy enough just require a little thought, a pilot hole made with a bradawl or similar will make the insertion of the fixing pins a doddle.
It isn’t the easiest of edging to use on an existing lawn, particularly if you come across stones beneath the surface, but patience and hard work will reward you with years of use.
    Go for it!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis was fairly easy to use, I read the reviews & watched a YouTube video, I found some of the plastic nails were too tight for the holes but not all. I resolved the issue by just running some sandpaper over them to make the ridges slightly smaller. I used a meat skewer to check for stones if they didn’t go in 1st time. The grass was quite moist which made things a lot easier. I would use this again.

This product was exactly what I have been trying to find for ages.
We have a grass that has grown into our rose garden by weaving its way through our weed fabric so wanted a barrier to stop it from travelling that way and create a straight edge for mowing.
The problem I had was even though the ground was soft (I watered along the edge as it advised and it had rained a couple of days before) the pegs wouldn’t even go through the holes made especially for them in the a-frame, they just bent over and even after straightening them and trying again they just snap.
Luckily I already had some galvanised steel pegs for the weed fabric leftover and these fit in the holes perfectly so I could finish the job
It seems to have worked so far but this was only put in 2 weeks ago

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt’s a little tricky to install. The pins and the part that goes over the lawn with the holes could do with being a bit stronger. It’s quite tough to get the pins through as well, but you can make the holes slightly bigger with a nail or something first. The actual edging part itself is quite substantial unlike some of the flimsy plastic ones from garden centres, once it’s installed and the grass grows over it looks really smart. It saved a lot of effort having to re-edge the borders in the spring and it also has stayed in place nicely. I think it was worth the money in the end as it looks fab.

The product was as described and just what we needed to create a barrier between lawn and gravel bed. We felt the price was good value for money. Relatively easy to install. Some of the pins were a tight fit but just need care when fixing.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe found the edging too deep and so we cut off the bottom spikes so as not to have to dig so deep and it still stayed in place well. The firm edge means you can put the bark up to it and not flow over onto the lawn Best on straight lawns or soft curves but hard to pull it into sharp shapes. the ‘A’ spikes on the top that go onto the top of the lawn do need pinning every three to keep well in place. Also, we lightly drilled out the holes before inserting the plastic nails which dealt with the problem others have reviewed on, saying the nails bend. The holes are a bit too tight as they are. my hubby used a rechargeable hand drill and it worked a treat. Great finished product even it makes your shoulders and back ache to do it!

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersSeen some mixed reviews on this product but I thought I would give it a go anyway. My first concern was that the small A-frames that are used to retain the edging would be too visible. this is not a problem, after a weeks growing they can no longer be seen. I pinned about every 3rd A-frame. I pinned more in certain areas and I even clipped a few off completely. Second concern was the strength of the plastic pegs that most people moan about on the reviews. Yes they are rubbish. Solution: I had a long thin metal nail that I hammered in to clear a hole prior to hammering in the plastic peg. Worked fine. I think I scrapped about 2 or 3 pins in total. 3rd issue was the depth of the edging. I ended up clipping away most of the spiky edge to make it shallower, so I didn’t have to remove so much soil. Overall I am really pleased with this product it certainly tidies up the lawn. Mowing is a lot easier with the edging acting as a support for the mower which stops it rolling of the edge.
