I first ordered 2 of these SOLARBABY solar flame lanterns 12 months ago and after initially having charged them up for 3 days by them hanging outdoors and switching them on during the day and switching them off at night . They have been hanging outside in all weather – rain , snow , frost and high winds . They are still going as well as when I first bought them which cannot be said about cheaper versions ! !
I admit they are more expensive than most on the market but well worth it as time has shown .
Just remember you are getting 2 lanterns in the pack which more than justifies the extra cost of these SOLARBABY solar flame lanterns .
    Consequently , I am going to order 2 more now ! !

When these first arrived and I unboxed them, I thought they were a bit small but when I put them where I intended them to go, they fitted perfectly. I thought 45 was a bit steep at first but looking at videos of cheaper counterparts I’m glad I went for these.

The cheaper versions seemed to emit a pulsing glow rater than a flicker like you would get from a candle. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay fo

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThese lights look lovely, but are nothing like the photo..why photoshop and mislead buyers?? That being said, they still look really good and are very effective. I have only had them for a couple of weeks. One of the lamps has been lasting for nearly 3 hours and the other 3 1/2 hours, which isn’t that great, but I suppose, being winter, there’s only a limited amount of sunlight around. I’m hoping that the duration will improve, with the longer days. At 45, however, I feel they are a little overpriced and, at that price, a single charge should be lasting for around 5 hours.

Update: I am now happily increasing my star rating to 5 stars, as I hadn’t charged them properly before using. When your lamps arrive, the next morning press the button underneath to turn them on then put them outside to charge. Before they come on in the evening, press the button again to stop them from coming on. The next morning, press the button again. The lanterns will then be fully charged and, when they come on in the evening, will last 7+ hours.

Surprised to find out just how well made these items were for the price. Solid metal, very well sealed, brilliant light and decent battery life. Would definitely recommend, in fact I’ve ordered more for Xmas presents.

These give a great effect in a nice warm colour, they are eye catching and ive had lots of compliments on them. The outer is a painted brass look which I wasn’t sure about at first but it’s grown on me and really sits in well among my plant pots on my patio.

Super cool lights. They are quite large so they can nicely sit on their own or hang on a wall or tree. The panel is very efficient and even after a day of moderate sunlight they keep lit for 5-6 hours. Very nice addition to a garden.

These are amazing solar powered lanterns.
I left them out for the afternoon once I had received them and that evening the light they gave off was so bright! Really impressive.
It looks like a really bright flame flickering inside.
They seem well made and so I think will be durable and last.
    Love them!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had very mixed experiences with these solar-powered light thingies, and to be honest, I had quite low expectations when I was given these (I got them free, for review purposes, and was expecting to be writing a 3-star review at best. Then I checked the price, thought, ‘Whoa! Expensive!!!’ (which they are, a bit, compared to similar items. This made me think I’d be writing perhaps a 1 or 2 star review when I took cost into account.

Well, this is a 5-star review, and there’s a story attached to that….

I left them indoors, on a windowsill, and made a mental note to check on them after sunset to see if they worked at all. And forgot all about it.

Fast forward to about 3.30 AM. My cat decided that he wanted out, and woke me up. I got up, and as I made my way to the stairs, I thought, ‘OH MY GOD THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!!’. Downstairs there was a flickering light, exactly as if there was a fire burning in a downstairs room.

It was these two lamps. MUCH brighter than I was expecting them to be, and the flickering effect is very effective. To say I’m impressed is an understatement – and as you can see, this is a FIVE-star review.

These solar lanterns for the garden are beautiful, they are very solid and sturdy and look really effective.
The light is pretty bright and works very well. To use, first you charge up in the sun – turn it on and then just let them sit out.
The lights can be hung up, or placed on a table, either way looks great!

To be perfectly honest I was expecting these to be a bit “cheesy” looking. But when they arrived I was pleasantly surprised. They’re well made, the main lantern is made of metal and most importantly the flame effect looks great. Close up you can see that it’s a series of LEDs flashing in a repeating pattern, but from a few metres away they really do have a lovely, quite realistic, flame look to them.

After a quick initial test I left them outside in bright sun for a day to charge up, then I moved them onto the outdoor table where we wanted them. That was about two weeks ago. There’s less direct sun in that spot but So far they’ve been absolutely fine, firing up (if you’ll pardon the pun) automatically every evening for several hours. They don’t give out much in the way of light to see by, which I wouldn’t have expected them to but they do give a nice orangey glow on the table when it’s dark.

    We love them.

When i recieved these i feel in look straight away as they were really stunning.
The laterns are very well made and have a slight brass rustic look to them.
Look great either hanging up or self standing.
Once fully charged by the sun these lights look amazing and very bright, the batteries also last along time.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTheses look great. The only minor criticism is when you receive it you don’t know if it is turned on or not. It has to be turned on to charge. Button on the bottom is a clicker that I clicked when it arrived. I assumed it was off on arrival and I was right. Quite a large solar panel which, if you cover with your hand, the light will come on. At dusk it came on as described and looked great. At the price of 25 for two at the time of writing they are very good value for money.

Update 23/6/21 Lose a star for value for money as the price has nearly doubled since I did the review.

When these arrived in the day I didn’t think they would be very bright a night time but I’m very impressed. There so pretty. And the flicker is so pretty. You have to press a button on the bottom to turn them on so be aware of that. These lights are so pretty I hope they last a long time. And I think they will because you can press the button to turn them on and off. I’d definatly reccomend these they look fab in my garden.

The photos in its product details seem exaggerated, but I find these solar lanterns better in person.

They have a nice rustic look. Please photos I attached.

Just like most garden lanterns I tested in the past, it has a dusk to dawn sensor. I like the wide solar panel as it can catch solar energy efficiently.

The button is under the lantern. Switch it on, cover the solar panel, or put it in a dark place, and it automatically flickers.

It is mainly made from metal, and the glass panel, is actually made from plastic, tho it doesn’t look cheap.

Its battery life depends on the solar charge it directly catches, so obviously, it differs when it is cloudy or rainy. But as I have observed for the past few days, it works for at least 6hrs.

Is it recommendable? Not considering its price, yes!

These are the most exciting solar lamps I have ever seen; they’re really gorgeous! They look so nice at night; the flame effect is so intense, they really light up the dark! I love them, and I’d definitely recommend them.

These are great lights, really well made and they produce a stunning flame effect. Leave them outdoors and they come alive after dark to give a great lantern effect. Not sure what the metal is but it is painted in a nice bronze type finish that looks authentic but not too antiquated. The foam base is a nice detail too so they are nice and steady on your table and feel even more sturdy and unlikely to be blown away in strong winds. The only slight issue is that it has to be quite dark before they come to life, I put my phone on the top whilst having a barbie and Bob’s your uncle.

The set of lamps is packed very soundly and with high quality, such packaging guarantees one hundred percent safety of the goods. The decorative lanterns are of very high quality, made of durable material. They are made in the form of old large street lamps from a fairy tale, very beautiful and look very dignified. They are very well suited for special occasions and evenings. They are reliable, waterproof and provide good, beautiful lighting. Inside the lantern you can see a white glossy base, inside of which there are LED lamps that create a flickering effect or the effect of a living flame. A solar battery is located in the upper part of the lantern. The lamps start to shine with the onset of dusk and burn brightly all night – it looks very beautiful. The beauty and originality of these lamps in their ability to work in two ways: They can be hung on poles and placed on the table, lanterns will create a romantic mood for a meal in the fresh air. Such lanterns with a playful flame look very beautiful in the evening in the yard, on the lawn! I am very pleased with the purchase. These are the most beautiful and original lamps! I advise everyone!

I was pleasantly surprised when I seen these in action.

When first opening the box I thought how lovely the lamps look – obviously plastic and not metal but you would pay a lot more. At the time of ordering these, the price point was 25 and for 2 lamps like this and how effective they became as it had become dark is well priced.

When they came there was no charge at all so I sat them on the garden table for them to charge. You have to turn them on to charge – go do this there is a plastic push button at the bottom. To be honest, the switch is so tiny that I could not tell if I had turned them on or not (it is a push in button as apposed to a slide on and off button). I had forgotten all about them being outside but when I went into a room later on and automatically looked outside, I was really pleasantly surprised as it looked exactly like I had candles burning away – the glow in the real dark was beautiful! Not as dramatic as one of the sellers images but indeed it was fabulous. At that point I didn’t get to take a photograph as didn’t want to unlock the doors again. A little earlier though, I took the attached photographs and video and what we did was place a coaster over the top of the solar panel so it appeared dark and they lit up quite dramatically as you can see.

I am sure these will please many people; especially at 25 for the two (just not like raw flames as indicated) but the sellers images are pretty much accurate apart from the flame one. We love them and look forward to using them throughout the warmer evenings – just have wait until darkness to fully appreciate them. They are one of the best solar outdoor lamps I have had so far and definitely recommend them!

Gorgeous lamp which looks stunning when it’s on. It came in a sturdy box and it was securely packed.
It can only recharge when the button is turned on. So make sure you turn it on when you open the box. You need to put it somewhere where the solar panel can get a good 8 hrs charge.

The design is brilliant and the flickering flame is unusual but very nice.
Check out my video which I hope that you find helpful.
Overall it’s a really elegant looking solar light which will brighten up any garden.

These Solarby brand solar lights are really, really good. Honestly I am impressed by the quality of these lovely metal lanterns with glass panels and a solar candle lights inside that look quite realistic. There’s an on/off button underneath each lantern, make sure you press it on before charging in sunlight. When it’s charged enough and dark enough the lanterns magically burst into ‘flickering flames’ within the lanterns. They are very realistic and last several hours. The solar panels are on top of the lanterns and they are for outside or inside use. I can’t wait to use them with friends and family on a summers evening, they’re a great addition to the garden, both my hubby and I genuinely love them. I absolutely recommend them. Please see my photos and video, I hope my review is helpful to you, thank you for reading it.

I say surprisingly … because I’ve had a few lights in the past that were pretty awful … These are really pretty good indeed.

They seem to be well made, easy to operate, and there is a big enough solar panel on top to give several hours of light.

There is a simple on/off switch on the bottom, if you leave it on, it will light up at dusk.

The light (from a distance) looks very good … almost like a real flame.

I might have preferred it if I could override the dusk setting using a switch … as it was almost 10 pm when it came on … problem solved if you cover the solar panel on the top …

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI didn’t know quite what to expect from the images on the Amazon product page when these arrived, as it shows what looks like a fire in each lamp. However, both my husband and I were taken by surprise by how realistic these look in the dark. I’ve taken a video, but please bear in mind that my phone tries to adjust the exposure in the dark and they look even better than shown.
The two lamps come well packaged in moulded polystyrene inside a cardboard box. They are very robust and appear well-made. There is an on/off switch underneath each one, and a handle at the top which either folds down if you want to use the lamps on a table, or can be used to hang them from.
I placed these at the end of the garden on the compost heap to ‘charge up’ in the sun the first day and forgot they were there. When I went to bed, I honestly thought that there was something on fire when I looked out of my window! Then I realised, it was the lamps! They are great. They give off a bright but warm ‘flaming’ light and are brilliant to have if sitting in the garden or entertaining after dark. The lights were still working well when my husband checked just before dawn. They should resist weather well too. We love them! A resounding five stars!!

I have just peeped out of my window at these two little beauties flickering away along my garden path. I was instantly impressed by their weight and robust construction. So easy to use, nothing to do except leave them to it. You can turn them off underneath if you don’t need their all night light. The sonar label on the lid us large enough to store hours of night time light. The unusual flickering frame effect is fun. Clever things!
