I use this for roughing up the surface of the soil. Makes weeds easier to pull out and keeps soil looking nice. Easy to see what you’re doing so you can manoeuvre round precious plants and shrubs. Good solid well made sturdy product. Have used mine for over a year now and still happy.
This is a great hand rake for borders. Its long and sculptured wooden handle help you reach the back of borders without over stretching. The clever triangle-head design means that if you get too close to a plant when pulling the tool towards you, it gently pushes it out of the way. A traditional T-head rake would damage the plant. Not cheap but well worth the price. Will last for many years.
Bought this for mum who wanted something she can use to help her get off her knees when weeding It is sturdy and works well My only complaint is it had a rough splinter on the handle, otherwise it is fine.
Just what I need for leveling and weeding in and around my onions shallots and garlic in my raised bed. Longer handle means i can easily reach across the four foot wide beds. Tool appears strong and sturdy and I hope it proves to have a long working life. Time will tell.
Fantastic product from a house hold name! Brilliant for breaking up soil and taking weeds from the flower bed. Long handle makes it easy to use and a lot easier in your back. Highly recommend
This looks like a sturdy traditional tool. It was a gift for my father in law so I hope it goes the course. Good looking, well made product. Thank you.
his is a fine gardening tool, really helps clean out all the fibrous roots etc from the soil. The longer handle is a real plus too. I am very pleased with my new gardening impleme
I’m working on a garden that has not been touched in over 3 years and this tool has been very useful! It’s especially handy when working under trees and bushes where space is limited .
very strong. I did buy the matching trowel and that too is excellent
I bought a gdn sit and work the gdn and its on wheels so I can move around without
getting up.
Thoroughly recommended grdn tools
Has made gardening easier and is sturdy enough for the job. Must be careful not to leave it lying around though as the spikes are quite sharp. Very good value when bought as a set as none of the local shops could get near this price.
Great tool. I bought this to get under bushes and shrubs as well as general use and that’s why I chose this long handled version. It is very good quality and has enabled me to easily get at weeds growing under my topiary bushes. Very happy with this purchase.
I NEEDED TO GET SOME WEEDS UP THAT WERE GROWING THROUGH MY GRAVEL AND WAS AT A LOSS WHAT TO USE. A FRIEND RECOMMENDED THIS TO ME AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. WITHIN 5 MINUTES I HAD COLLECTED A BUCKET OF HARD TO REMOVE WEEDS
This review applies to the Weed fork, Trowel and the long-handled hand Cultivator, which I bought all at the same time from amazon.
We were looking to get some hand tools, but wanted to avoid the bargain-basement sets that you can get from low-end stores which end up being a false-economy.
Spear & Jackson are a decent name in garden tools, and these implements have stainless steel main parts and traditional wooden handles, so it matches a spade and fork that I already have and am very pleased with.
They appear well made, and come equipped with nice leather straps for hanging up in my shed.
The price for the weed fork and trowel were only 5 each from amazon at time of purchase (half that of “big shed” high street stores. The long-handled cultivator was more expensive, but a similar degree of saving was made over the high street by purchasing through amazon.
