As far as I can tell him outdoors is very happy with these and a well known make too. I haven’t used them, so I can’t comment but for what I spent and three tools for the money. I’m well pleased
A good set of garden cutters from a long established & well known brand .
We used the shears & the extendable loppers for the first time today & they are both lightweight & easy to use – the fact they are good quality was evident as soon as we took them out of the amazon box ..
The tools look well constructed and after a quick go in the garden I am happy that they are ‘up to the job’, but I despair at how much packaging retailers use when shipping items especially items like these which could all have fitted into either one plastic bag (they arrived inside two large plastic bags, both of which were big enough for all the items) or else tagged to a cardboard backing like the secateurs. but to compound it, they arrived in a huge badly taped cardboard box, easily big enough to have 8 sets of the tolls inside and have room to spare, so much for retailers trying to help reduce waste especially plastic waste, so much for looking after the environment, and the irony that these are gardening tools which can help the environment makes me so cross.
My dad loves chopping down stuff in the garden. He will give a branch a nip and tuck here and there. Back in the day our family garden was a tropical paradise, dad decimated it with a slash and burn policy. The garden has fought back over the years and now dad has new found respect for greenery. Good quality, sure they will last. Keep away from the grandkids, the razor sharp cutters, not the granddad’s.
Very happy with these, great bit of kit for the money. Sturdy loppers, easy to use and lightweight. Same with the clippers, spent more money in the past on others that aren’t half as good as these.
Bought these to tidy up shrubs which had been damaged by the recent storms – they have done the job well; the loppers are quite heavy but sharp – I hadn’t realised they extended until I was nearly finished – the length gives a lot more leverage, which makes them even more useful.
Decent set , sharp, and look well made, have no complaints so far. The loppers were used to trim the small tree branches in my garden and cut through with no problems.
I ordered these tools to attack my severely overgrown garden. I was amazed the way they made light work of it all. And the value for money is astronomical. I finally made an excellent decision when I bought these.
Every now and then something turns up that is far better than you expect, doesn’t happen often these days, but these bits of kit are superb. Incredibly sharp they all cut through their respective jobs with ease. Highly recommended
Fantastic value and really good quality cutters.
The extendable loppers are brilliant and really easy to use, the only negative comment I could make is that they are slightly heavy when fully extended. But I also like that as they are sturdy.
Really good quality garden tools for a bargain price they are all fantastically made the garden shears are razor sharp as are the other tools I highly recommend these tools.
Love this set of useful tools . Have used the shears so far and they have dealt easily with my hedge . Looking forward to trying the other tools in due course . For the price, I cannot fault them
I am big fan of Spears & Jackson gardening tools, already Had their cordless mower & lawn scarifier from 2-3 years and this cutting tools added value to my tools collection.
Very sturdy and sharp, excellent value to its price.
Have mainly used the extending loppers, very sharp, exactly what you need. Going a little bit blunt after about 6 uses, sure they will sharpen up ok, appear to be quite well made.
The Shears make trimming a hedge or cutting grass so easy that I will not bother using an electric Hedge trimmer anymore. The Lopping Shears slice through thick stems or branches with ease, though using them extended to cut high branches, they become a bit heavier to manage for older people.
I am really impressed with this set. I managed to clip back a large bush with the hand held clipper, extremely sharp. The branch cutter is excellent. The shears are also good, I struggle a bit with them due to the size (I am quite short) but the product itself is very good. I would definitely recommend this set. Excelle
These tools are really good, they are very sharp and cut through trees and bushes with ease. They each have a little cover so they can be cleaned, dried and stored dry ready for next time. Would definitely recommend.
From the quality feel of these I suspect they’ll last a good few years of average use.
Easy to use and super sharp. Used to prune a large hedge, apple trees and other shrubs. Cut through the branches with ease including some which were the max size for the jaws.
Loppers can be extended to reach high branches and this can be done easily with 1 hand. Just twist the wrist, slide out the handle and twist to lock.
The only complaint I have (and it’s a small one) is that the secateurs dont lock very well. Easily fixed with a strap if that’s a major concern for you.
Overall thoroughly recommend these and if they are on offer the price of all 3 items were the same as the long handled loppers.
Our daughter in law has just acquired an allotment so needed some garden tools – this pack was absolutely perfect as a Christmas present and she is delighted !!! Good quality, good name, light and easy to use, couldn’t have been better. Now she has no excuses . . . . . !!!
Let’s face it, for this price you should expect a budget set of tools and that is what you get.
The shears are good quality, lightweight with aluminium handles.
The extendable trimmers are heavy duty (with a focus on the heavy). The handles are steel and when extended need some strength to wield them.
The secateurs are pretty lightweight. Super sharp, easy to use but I am not expecting them to last long.
If you are (like me) a sometimes gardener who likes to trim on an irregular basis these are perfect.
If you are a serious gardener then suggest you spend a bit more or a more serious set of kit.
Love the extendable loppers. Cut through hard wood branches with ease. Thickest so far is about inch and a half. They are quite heavy when at full extension but that’s because I’m only 5’1″. All items are sharp and user friendly. Love this purchase. Great value for money.
This is a good little starter set to be able to clip back hedges and trees in the garden. There sharp and work well. Managed to get alot done with these
Glides through branches with very little effort, actually enjoyed using the larger of the tools on my hedge, my five year old daughter was also helping mummy (of course under very careful supervision-they are obviously rather sharp).
I had not expected these to be quite so good, probably not cutting branches much more than a inch in diameter but overall took very little physical effort. Sturdy, easy to use, inexpensive… would recommend these without a doubt! Have nothing negative to say about them, they made my garden jobs so much easier… give me something else to cut!!
Perfect tools. I’m not experienced at gardening. In fact I bought these as my very first tools for our jumanji garden.
The whole garden was covered in various weeds including some very thick tough branches etc. These tools have easily cut through everything surprisingly and made a tough job easier.
I never write reviews, too lazy normally, but I am so pleased with this set of garden set of tools I think if anyone is looking for this type of thing, just buy them! Received the set much quicker than expected as they were out of stock when I placed the order but still got it within a week. Used the lopers first and I have to say that they are brilliant. Very sharp even with a small amount of pressure on the handles when cutting. Like a hot knife through butter really is the correct expression to use. The sheers are equally easy to use and again very sharp. Not used the secateurs but they look much the same quality as the other 2 pieces. I can’t say enough good things about this set and at the price I paid just wow!
The loppers and pruners work fine for all gardening tasks. The loppers have handles that can be extended for extra umph, they feel a little flimsier than you’d like when extended , but seemed to cope just fine.
Bought these to keep my garden in check. Recently had to cut down a plum tree and used the loppers to remove a lot of the branches which it did pretty well even though some of the branched were over two inches thick. The loppers bit right in and taking a few cuts severed branches i didnt think they would be able too. smaller branches they just cut through like butter.
For 30 this set is great. I’ve been chopping away at bushes, branches and even small trees! All of the pieces seem good quality and I’m finally able to sort out the brambles in my garden as well as 1000 other jobs that need doing. It did take my gardener to show me how to use one of them as it’s actually extendable! As you can possibly tell I’m not green fingered and this is one of the first garden tools I’ve bought and used! I’m really pleased now I can help the gardener and hopefully reduce some of his hours and save 30 quid I spent on this!
