In a study we conducted of used make-up brushes borrowed from 35 consumers, make-up artists and beauty counters, a laboratory deemed 58 per cent as “too unhygienic for use” Thirty-four per cent contained more bacteria than your average toilet brush.
One supposedly clean brush that had been sitting on a make-up counter ready for use on an unsuspecting customer was harbouring more than 40,000 bacteria. The results were surprising, even after we’d polled 1,000 women and found that 44 per cent had never washed their brushes.
Given that it is such a time-consuming process, we can completely understand why most people don’t wash their make-up brushes by hand as regularly as experts recommend (that’s once a week, in case you were wondering).
It’s a messy task that can take a lot of time and effort. What’s more, drying your brushes so they are ready for re-use can take at least 24 hours, which is an understandable inconvenience.

Upon opening it i found two sachets of brush cleanser i poured one in and attached one of my brushes to give it a try and i was amazed how well it works! 10 seconds in the cleanser and 10 seconds to dry then onto the next brush! The cleanser is great i tried soap and water it wasn’t nearly as good so i ordered a big bottle of the cleanser for future use.
It’s really simply to use and i done all my brushes in 10-15mins then cleaned it out let it dry and put it back in the box.
If you’re like me and have no motivation to clean make up brushes this is a must buy it makes it super fast and is very effective.

This is a brilliant bit of kit that I wish I’d bought years ago!
No more standing by the sink for ages washing brushes that I’ve never managed to get as clean as this – they look like new!!
Only used once but the next time I use it I’ll do it slightly differently the brush solution got really dirty really quickly so I’d probably wash with shampoo first to get the worst off and then use the solution once I’ve spun the brushes dry.
Seriously though, this is the best present I’ve bought myself for a while. 5 stars
I’ve never used an electric brush cleaner before so I have nothing to compare this to other than how long it takes with a spray and then wiping on tissues. This is absolutely amazing, it cleaned my brushes which were completely minging I’m ashamed to admit and then 10 seconds spin dry and they were all clean and bone dry. Honestly I wish I’d got one of these years ago
My one and only critism is that the make up cleaner is no way enough. Two small packets were used pretty much straight away after cleaning only 6 brushes. I did purchase an additional bottle so I was able to clean the rest of my brushes.

I read the reviews and thought I’d give it a go because I find cleaning makeup brushes a chore. I can’t rate this product enough. You only need a tiny amount of solution and your brushes really do come out clean, dry and ready to use. Excelle
Takes a bit longer than 10 seconds the first time if you’ve not cleaned your brushes for a long while like me. After that, if done weekly 10 seconds is fine. Cleans and dries really well. I love it!
A bit tricky to keep brush head submerged in cleanser whilst moving up and down as only used 10ml sachet as instructed. That said, was very impressed with how quickly brush dried. Tested on a white tissue , no foundation remained. Very happy with this purchase , well worth the money. For someone who suffers breakouts, it’s reassuring to know brushes are clean.
I’m usually sceptical of product claims but this got my makeup brushes clean and like new again. Previously I washed my brushes by hand with soap and water each week but this was time consuming and never really got all of the product out, but after using the StylPro they look like new again.
As some other reviews say, annoyingly the StylPro ISOclean solution does seem to work best (at least for oil based foundation), although you can still get good results using soap and water if you persevere and wash the brushes a couple of times.
Really impressed. This cleans brushes quickly and easily and dries them too, no faff! Wish i’d have discovered this sooner.
There is however a really annoying downside…. the 8 different silcone brush holders doesnt have one small enough to hold some of my Iconic brushes. Because the majority of my Iconic brush handles have very slim pointed ends, i found even the smallest silicone holder wasnt small enough to hold the end.
Just be advised before buying.
Other than that, really happy.
1) My makeup brushes, some of which (shamefully) I’ve owned for at least a decade and never cleaned, look absolutely brand new after using the Stylpro. They could literally be right out of the packet. I have a mixture of cheaper non-branded brushes and more expensive high-end brushes, and they all turned out beautifully.
2) Results most definitely vary depending on what cleaning solution you use. There are two sachets of Stylpro cleaning solution included with the product, and annoyingly, this is hands down the best thing I tried. As a test, I started with Castile soap and water, which was ok but not amazing. I also tried cheap shampoo with similar results to the soap. I then used some cheap micellar water makeup remover, which was significantly better than the soap or shampoo and water. Then I tried the Stylpro cleaner. It’s definitely the quickest and most effective way. The good news is you don’t need much of it (just a sachet’s worth), but the bad news is you have to buy it separately.
3) Manage your expectations appropriately. The three types of cleaning solution I tried were all tested on the same brush – a fairly chunky very well-used foundation brush. If I had persevered with the soap and water it would have gotten fairly clean, but would have taken a long time to get there. The micellar water definitely did a better job, but I would still have needed several repetitions to fully clean the brush. I was pretty horrified to see just how much makeup kept coming out of the brush, especially with the Stylpro cleaner, because I had cleaned it several times by then. My point is, if your brushes are ancient and heavily-used, and if, like me, you haven’t cleaned them for centuries, don’t expect them to be shiny and brand-new after ten seconds’ worth of cleaning. With a bit of perseverance you definitely CAN achieve shiny and brand-new, but it may not happen right away. After restoring all my brushes to new, I used a couple then cleaned them after that single use. Obviously, it took just seconds to clean those, but if this is the first clean your brushes have had in a while, you’ll need to spend some time on it.
4) I read a few reviews where people had put the bowl in the dishwasher and it had melted. It definitely says in the listing that it’s dishwasher safe, but I won’t be putting mine in the dishwasher any time soon. Other criticisms included the sizing of the silicone cuffs – I didn’t really have any issues with this, but I suppose it just depends on your luck. I did try to attach a double-ended brush to a collar with an elastic band as a fix – be warned; the motor spins pretty fast, and my brush fell apart from the force because it wasn’t secured properly. Double-ended brushes were hit or miss for me – there were some that I managed to squeeze into a cuff but a couple that I couldn’t clean like this.
5) Some people weren’t satisfied with the drying of brushes, but I didn’t find this to be a problem. A quick spin (or a slightly longer spin for larger brushes) did the trick. The Stylpro solution left brushes feeling a little greasy almost, even when the brushes were dry, but this wore off after a few minutes. A quick reshape of the bristles was needed after drying, but brushes got back into shape very quickly.
Overall I’m really pleased with my purchase, and I ordered a bottle of the Stylpro cleaner for brushes that are used with heavier products (foundation etc.) Now that I’ve seen how effective the cleaner is I don’t mind paying a bit more for it.
I give this product a big thumbs-up, and wish I hadn’t waited so long to order one!
Ok so I scoured the reviews took the risk and I am SO THANKFUL I did. This product is PHENOMENAL. My brushes were getting to the point where they weren’t putting my makeup on properly, so I decided to invest in a proper brush cleaner as it just takes too long doing it by hand. This was so easy to use (even for absolute plonkers like me that never understand instructions) there was plenty of bits to fit my brushes (I was worried as a few commented saying their foundation brushes were too thick – but mine is super thick and had no problems) it literally got my brush not only looking brand new, but dry in seconds!!!! All my brushes clean in a couple of minutes. I have marked a star down for value as you only get 2 sachets of cleaner in it – something a lot of other people mentioned so I did know this, but still. All in all a must have and i am so glad I got this. Brilliant product.
The included solution is just no where near enough, throw it out and just use your own bottle of brush cleaning solution.
It was really easy to use, just find the brush head that fits snugly, stick on your brush, put it into the bottle and turn it on then after a few seconds, lift it up and spin dry. That’s it. Almost all of the brushes were cleaned the first time and dry fully after the second spin.
There were one or two brushes that didn’t clean right away but she chalked it down to how old the brushes were as opposed to it not doing its job.
There was also 1 brush that sadly didn’t fit any of the brush heads, they were either too tight or too loose. So hand-wash it was for that one. But that was 1 brush out 20 brushes.
Overall verdict, she absolutely loves it and cleaning is no longer a chore. As said, do get your own solution and don’t rely on what’s included.
