I was sorry to have to tell customer support that currently this does not support telephony on 4G only, and I received a reply very promptly the next morning, and they are looking into this. Its very easy to setup and use, and I had good internet speeds. Apart from updating the RJ11 telephony for 4G only the best improvement (and the same goes for any other sim based router) might be to have a sim cover to keep dust out of the unit so that it does not get corrupted by dust build up etc). I liked this and was sorry to have to send it back. Its purely because I do NOT have a cable/landline service any more, and as 3G is very soon being switched off, I needed a unit that worked on 4G only right now, not in a few months time. If they bring out an updated version, I may buy one as a 2nd router for ‘backup’. Tenda customer support is very prompt, and they did care what was happening, so this is a good point.

The 4G preferred mode (as you may know) means 4G internet but 3g for phone. It currently works fine with very good audio, but for how much longer as 3g is due to be switched off due to plans by Offcomm and the mobile phone industry (the carriers).

There is lots that 3g is used for such as car park meters (this has already caused mayhem), garage doors/gates and other applications were 3g runs in the background. But it seems that the Govt just doesn’t care and short termism prevails. Don’t be caught out, you need to make sure your devices will work on 4G only, or if not, your best bet might be to get an o2 based sim quickly (they are due to be the last network to turn off 3g).

Bought this on recommendation to take away to our holiday venue which has no Wi-Fi and to use in our caravan. It certainly does the job. Easy to set up too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe product is excellent, very easy to install, just plug in , insert a sim card in bottom ( a wee bit fiddly) , and your set. Literally had access to internet within two minutes of opening the box. Good strong connection if you get right sim card. EE network seems to be the best in the UK.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHappy with it so far. Just few days of use in a very small space. Don’t know how it will work in a big spacious house. The good think you can just put the card in and off you go

Used this product in my caravan to access a stable WiFi signal.
Combined with a data rollover with an EE sim I can power multiple wifi devices and access Prime, Disney, Netflix and my Sky at home via Sky go.

Pop a sim inLebara (Vodafone network) Connected @ 27 devicesit’s so good I’ve scrapped apple’s time capsule as my main router. Wi-Fi signal again, better that Apple and port forwarding/ ddns built inmarvellous – probably won’t go back to broadband to the house

The router arrived as estimated , it was very easy to set up and get going with wifi . I have only given it a 4 out of 5 for reception , but is a lot better than my previous router owing that I live in a bad reception area .

If you are in a location where you have no or poor internet connection this is probably your answer. You can use something like the Smarty phone SIM for 10 per month slot it in and you are ready to go. Minor setup required. Good signal strength and I get consistent 30g speeds via 4g. You can also connect a phone handset to it and make and receive calls.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI originally had a tp link Mr200 4g router. It was great at first, especially when I added an external aerial, however lately the signal has been rubbish. Having to turn phone off if I’m streaming on tv as kept buffering d wasn’t sure if it was the router or the network so thought I’d try the router.
Bought this Tenda one from Amazon warehouse. Wouldn’t even guess it was second hand. Connected straight away, and signal amazing! Have connected everything I have, bearing in mind I use Alexa a lot so have loads of Wi-Fi devices.
There’s no dropping out of signal, no buffering. Am well impressed, and lot cheaper than the mr200 from tp link. Definitely worth i

Put a Vodafone sim in from my Vodafone Huawei mifi 4G router, turned it on, connected via wifi – worked perfectly. Then I added a cable connection to my desktop PC – again fast and perfect connection. I get a very good signal and next to the router Speedtest shows 50-60 Mbps. 2 floors up in a solid Victorian semi, I get an indicated full wifi signal, but speed drops to about 30 Mbps – not too shabby. An excellent piece of truly plug-n-play hardware.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGet it for my new year. Really impresive for the performance. When I first insert the sim card. I can just enjoy my wifi and no need to worry anything. It just stays there and give me a very good internet speed. If you stay in a house with poor singal or cannot have a ethernet cable. Just choose this product you will thank me after you try. Recommend!

Don’t use TV, so have no aerial.
    Don’t have cable BB.
This mobile internet is ideal, have a Giffgaff Gold SIM in it and I am able to cast to two TVs using a ChromeCast and a Ruko device. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI purchased it for just Cellular Nothing to dislike, the wifi coverage inside the house is brilliant as is the speed, even with one Cellular connection bar lit speed is surprisingly fast and with all three lit performance is outstanding – at times even better than my cabled WiFi. Can’t ask for any more than that.

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersI was looking for an internet solution for my remote location in Tunbridge Wells. Between the classic mobile tethering and a 4G router, I have chosen the last option provided by Tenda. The 4G09 Tenda router is a very good investment if you do not have access to broadband or a wired connection. It Is in some cases even cheaper than a wired connection as the monthly charge. It is all plug and play, so all you need is a data sim card to insert and you’re good to go. You don’t need to set up anything further, it’s automatic. I am using an unlimited data sim from Vodafone and I am getting great download and upload speeds. The connection is stable and I can also use it for VPN connections. Highly recommend
