I had my first Timex watch at 5 years old. A gift from my Late Grandmother. 52 years later I still use Timex Watches apart from an Apple Watch 8 that I use mainly for problems with my Heart and Sleep. I wear the Timex Explorer all day and I even forget I have it on or to change it at night. A Must for Great Quality Watch Lovers who know this great company that’s been going for possibly near a century now

Excellent watch, I cannot fault it for the price and it has toughened glass screen, so many cheap plastic watches come with cheap plastic lens that so easily scratch.

Very clear easy to read display.
    Comfortable on the wrist.
Not too sure the usefulness of the count up / down of the 10 second dial ?

In 8 years I’ve decided to get a replacement Timex Expedition watch of the exact type.
I still have my first one and it’s still going in 8 years I have not replaced a battery or anything.
I wear it everywhere and only wanted a replacement because it’s such a great product.
Everyone that sees it asks me where I bought it from.

I found the watch well packaged.
Set up instructions are online or even better go on YouTube for some great setup reviews.
Would I buy one again. Yes…

Great work watch. The vibrations alarms are great for meetings and quiet areas, stop watch function is excellent for workouts. Very robust only let down by a poor strap, I have had 2 snap on me, but I do work in a robust environme

Absolutely brilliant watch. Dose everything you could think of. I’m a deep sleeper and the vibrating alarm is strong enough to wake me in the mornings. Highly recomend this watch

HUsband enyoys the size of the screen as it is much easier for him to read it. He’s amazed that he is ‘ontrend’ with a large watch!

It is relatively cheap. It is H.U.G.E. (size matters). It is a little rugged (not g-shock level) and has one of the best back-light versions I’ve seen.

I like the option for alarm to be just vibration just sound or both.

It is easy to set up as it even provides instructions on that massive screen (it could have HDMI in).

    Highly recommended.

I got this for my birthday and I just love the big screen size. The quality is good as a Casio and I just think its a unique piece.

I brought this based on the many positive reviews already listed and I’m very glad I did. Near everybody seems to wear a G-Shock these days so I wanted something a little different.

I wear this for work at a physical job. It by far seems robust enough to cope with the knocks and bangs it gets and the clever little strap lock gives you piece of mind, it’s not falling off your wrist.

The display is large, easy to read and crystal clear. And although it is a bulky watch, it sits comfortably on my wrist all day without and discomfort.

I’m a big fan of G-Shocks but after seeing this watch I couldn’t resist it, especially at this price! The watch is simply brilliant, it fits really well and is very comfortable! The face and numbers are very clear and easy to read. It was no more complicated to set up than any other digital watch I’ve owned, which is just as well as there are no instructions. It is big, but isn’t cumbersome and it looks really well on my wrist. All-in-all a great watch and I’m very happy with it!

Had this watch a few months now with no issue. Clear to read nd intuitive to use. Really like the fact it has a vibrating alarm as well as normal chime alarm. Vibration alarm can be used on it’s own so great quiet(ish) alarm.

It’s big, but surprisingly doesn’t feel too big or unwieldy on the wrist.
Big digits mean easy readability, even at night without my glasses on, great night light.
Well thought out easy operation & controls, accurate to +/- 5 secs a month
As my work watch being a lorry driver the only negative is that that watch face cover is plastic & rather exposed so prone to scratching, so need to be careful, but as only a work watch this is not such a great worry

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe Timex Grid shock is a excellent watch, the display is great and well readable in all conditions. The functions are cool, featuring a combo alarm of Vibration and Audio alert, with flash. It also has a function where you can choose the alarm type as in weekdays, weekends or daily. it has 3 alarms. of different tones. The “Indiglo” light is awesome and lights up only the numbers and letters on display at the moment, giving it a cool heads up display look. The watch came in Timex box with a plastic display stand.

    Positives : Display readability
3 Alarms , Vibration and Audio Combo or Just one. Each a different tone with the Display light flashing.
Hourly Chime. The audio is loud on this watch.
    Choose day month format
Set timer from SS:MM:HH , features repeat function
“Hydration” feature alarm, single beep chime to remind you to drink water or whatever repetitive event on repeat with interval of your choice.
intuitive menu structure, almost no need of instructions.
Night mode feature, where for eight hours, any button press activates the light of the watch, then it self deactivates. This alarm is bound to wake you, along with the vibration. Strap is soft and comfortable , self battery replacement likelihood over the Timex Command is less likely because unlike the Command, the strap covers part of the back plate, they recommend you take the watch to a jeweler or watch repair center for battery replacement. The strap is proprietary and will not be easily replaced in event it’s damaged, because of my location in South Africa, shipping of a new strap would equate to just slightly cheaper than ordering a total replacement at the price at the time of my purchase. The strap feels of durable material so I doubt the strap will get damaged any time soon. The glass is better than the Command, and it feels like it’s Mineral as stated it’s less fingerprint prone and fingerprints stand out less on the positive lcd vs the negative on the Command.

Negatives: The strap is proprietary. Self battery replacement is not really possible without necessary tools. The watch has been released for quite some time and stocks are low leading to worry about future repairs and support. Replacement straps are available now, I think it’ll be best to order one now to avoid possible disappointment in the future. The watch is sleek although large, it’s not heavy and catches the eye. I just had to have it based off of how it made my insides feel. Great watch with features that gives Gshocks some ideas

Received this today and I love it! Exactly what I was looking for. I like big watches, especially as I have big wrists! I also like the bit that holds the end of the strap in. It has a notch on the inside that sits in one of the holes on the strap, so it stops the end of the strap coming out. This is handy, as due to my large wrists, I have it on the last but one hole. I hope that makes sense to people reading it.

Even with my large wrist this is a very big watch! However, it is also extremely comfortable and wears very well. The build quality feels good, having a solid feel without being too heavy.

The large display and excellent back-light make it easier to read with my older eyes, which is a definite plus. Driving that display and light is likely to be a drain on the battery but it takes a cr2032, which is very cheap and easy to find.

The look of the product is actually amazing & looks like a Ben 10 watch too! I returned it though because I have a really skinny wrist, so it looks & feels weird on my wrist. The material of the watch itself could be smoother or better though. yes I understand that a thicker watch, a more rigid watch made for rough use is of hard material but I’ve had other big watches like Invicta, G-Shocks which fits nicely & also don’t feel that hard as well but this one did. Thus, I had to return it.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersIt’s BIG! its HUGE! It’s MASSIVE! Absolute MONSTER!

You will be surprised how snuggly fits forearm. It’s literally glued to my arm. And after couple hours of wearing, I forgot it’s size(get use to).
Has nice looking and solid strap, with little knob at the bottom end for extra secure.

Display is fantastic, contain all the information I need with quick glance. More functions available under button with possibility to HIDE unwanted items from scrolling! Absolutely fantastic. All I need is timer and alarm – with the rest functions hidden – smart 😉

No Casio watch could wake me up in the morning (heavy sleeper). But this one, vibrate for 5 secs, then vibrate and ring for another 5 secs to finally ring even louder, vibrate and flash display for another 5 secs. After that, it goes for snooze for 5 minutes and repeat procedure, until switched off. Perfect!
You can set different alarms for weekdays, weekends with 3 different tones if desired. That’s all I needed.

Indiglo – another fantastic feature. Work like a charm. For those who don’t know (it’s not even mentioned in official manuals) it has a nigh mode. Press and hold indiglo button for couple secs and it’s on for 8 hours. What it does? Display gonna be bright whenever you’ll be messing up with buttons (scrolling, setting whatever) unlike Casio, you can really use it at night.

On top of that, it has couple very nice features, not as important as mentioned above, at least for myself.
    These are:
*Date display order, you can have day-month or month-day (small thing, but huge ;))
*Smart Mode button, f.ex. after setting alarm, this button takes you to time keeping display on first press, instead of scrolling through the rest of functions.
*Alarm can be a Tone, Vibration or Combination of both as mentioned above
*Timer can be used for intervals, single button press to set Stop at the end or Repeat. Love this.
Chime, tone buttons, three time zones (manual only) and smart screen (display shows what each button does on pressing). It’s honestly does everything I need.

I had enough charging my smart watches every day or every other day (Samsung and Apple) so, I have decided to to purchase regular watch. Casio, because… because it’s Casio. After missing couple alarms and problems setting up in darkness – Huge problems for Casio – this brand watches are collecting dust on my shelf 😉

All sudden, from nowhere my eyes picked this watch.
Absolutely love this watch, love the design, the look, the feel, the features and I strongly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind its size.
And it’s bargain at 60 quid.

Lets see what I’ll say after longer use…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA very large watch but comfortable to wear. Most reviews on here very positive of this watch it is well made and has a quality feel about it. I got a cyber Monday deal from amazon so the watch cost me 36 on the day a really good price for it. Most watches are round faced and have small displays with a lot of rubbish on them this is big square and something very different. It is nice to see this watch without my glasses all in all impressed with it. There is no paper instructions manual you have to go online to get that. Fairly easy to set up everything seems to be in logical order Though I only use watch for day and time there is a load of other features on this watch. If you are thinking of buying one do it you will not regret it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent watch, wanted one for a while and it doesn’t disappoint. Came in original box with all tags, however mine was missing the instructions leaflet. Not really a prob as I just found them online in pdf format in a couple of secs.

I found in fairly easy to set up and it wears very comfortably on the wrist despite its size and shape. The only thing is the screen isn’t particularly protected by the bezel as it sits fairly flush. The images online gave the impression to me that it would be, that may just be lighting. Also yes the display is polymer not glass so more care will be needed.

Overall though I really like it and it’s distinctive look is a welcome departure from the norm

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersOnly reason i didn’t give this 5 stars is because compared to other watches in my collection it’s not quite up there, however, ranking it alongside others of similar value, this is most definitely a 5 star watch.

For those of you liking the chunky, wide strap, oversized case look such as with Diesel’s Big Daddy, or Police’s Dominator, this definitely fits in with that style, only with, in my opinion, a much more ergonomic form factor with perhaps the most snug strap of all of them, and with the good solid weight and tough construction you can expect from Timex.

With oversized cases, no matter how large your wrist is, you can at times get movement with the watch slipping around, perhaps not so much with rectangular cases (although with the Dominator this was still an issue because the strap is stiff and doesn’t always conform to the wrist shape), however, with round ones like the big daddy, it can happen. The rubber strap here, although not as classy as the leather of Diesel and Police’s counterparts, helps this watch stay in place, as well as the rectangular case which hugs the flat of the back of your wrist perfectly.

All the buttons are easily accessible and the display is huge and clear even in bright light, and the indiglo night display is dazzlingly strong. It has multiple time zones and alarms with countdown timers and hydration reminders, and both sound and vibration alerts which is perfect for when you are in quiet areas and don’t want an alarm going off.

Priced at about 80-110 gbp this is a very decent value for money watch, although I got it in an Amazon flash sale for just under 40gbp at which price this was an insane steal.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersLoved the big clear display.
Positive display is easy to read.
Indigo light is brilliant – the actual numbers themselves glow blue (not the background) and its dim enough that it doesn’t destroy your night vision or glare.
The watch has 3 alarms, a stopwatch, a countdown timer and a Hydra-alarm.
Each alarm has a different sound.
The stopwatch has split time capabilities.
The count down timer can be set to stop at the end or to continue in a loop at the end – good for intervals if you want.
The watch has a choice of beeping alarms, vibrating alarms or both. A vibrating watch is a great thing if you need to wake up, say, when your partner is asleep, or for any other form of discreet alarm.
    You cycle through the modes with a button – time – stopwatch – timer – hydra – alarm 1 – alarm 2 – alarm 3.
You can, in the set up menu, choose to take any of those modes OUT of the cycled modes, to simplify and customise the watch as you would like it.
The buttons are big and it feels in some ways like a stopwatch on your wrist.
The strap is wide and is made of resin. Surprisingly, it is very comfortable and the feeling the watch was overly prominent on my wrist did not occur – it was comfortable to wear and never dug into my hand or wrist.

    Downsides?

The watch glass is acrylic – perhaps not the best in the long term, but so far, so good. It does not seem, structurally to attract scratches and I have more scratches on my mineral crystal Suunto Traverse than I do on this – possibly something to do with their shapes and natural deflections. It could just be luck.
Also, there is a slight annoying lag when you switch from one mode to another, before it can be used. It maybe only a second and a half to 2 seconds or so but I notice it when switching between modes.
10 bar water-resistance is good enough for anything I will be doing with it.

    Overall:
I don’t have another watch like it. It is a bit like my G-shocks in function, but this is unique in its feel and design. It’s low-tech and old school. When I am doing things that are timer heavy, this is my go-to watch. Works a lot like an old stopwatch and the display is the most legible I have.

Well worth having one of these for the price (mine was sub 50).

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBargain Watch. Pleased with product. Helps with keeping track of number of laps and length times in the swimming pool (Using split timer facility) – a surprising benefit. I initially got it for the vibrating alarm facility. For day to day use – there are 3 high pitched alarms which are great although they dont last long (only last about a minute or so) before the ringing stops. Vibration is there but personally I was hoping for more to help wake me up. But i am a deep sleeper. Not used the hydro countdown timer. On normal sized wrists the straps is fine but the face does look big although it does show the information very clearly. But not an issue. Well worth the money solely on the premise it helps with swimming activity (total time swimming, laps if press the split button and lap times. Counter goes up to 100) I have read quite a bit about other swim trackers not providing accurate info at a lot higher cost- all you have to do is press split button and counts lengths for you ! get this Watch!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGenerally speaking – I love the watch.
It’s solid, fresh and unusual. It has big readable numbers and features a very flexible, modern and simple to navigate interface.
Vibrating alert is pretty strong while a little short (and not customizable). I’d like to make it longer to make it perfect. It wakes me up at night when I wasn’t tired while falling a sleep. It has no chance of waking me up in the middle of a busy week.

The only concern is the band. The band connection to watch body is static (immovable) and is not good for wide wrists. Suggested band length should allow you to put a finger under it but the band still pressures the sides of my hand and leaves marks on my skin (as if the band was too tight). Loosing the clasp one additional hole make the watch to be completely free on the hand.
I have started to look for the replacement solutions.
