Excellent Mother monito
I bought this because it has energy monitoring. Then I plugged it in behind my Mother’s kettle and I can now see when she’s up and about and having her first cup of tea. We live a long way apart so it’s very reassuring. I’d be even more pleased if I could get a notification rather than having to go and look at it but I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to set that up.

You can also monitor the energy usage by setting up your rates that is quite useful for estimating your energy bills
Smart Plug
Exactly what I needed! I wanted a smart plug for the timing of when my fish tank light turns on and off, as I work shifts and live on my own some weeks I’m not back until early hours in the morning. It’s very easy to setup using the Tapo app on my phone as I’ve already got a camera. The quality is good, just a standard plastic socket you plug in. For the price this was a steal!
Great so far! The setup with the Tapo iPhone app and each plug has bas been simple, best part about the plug, is the app. The functionality of the app is far better than others I have used, out-of-the-box routines for auto-turning off, schedules …
What I Like:
* Schedules: Setting up schedules (can be done at set times or sunrise/sunset). I’ve got my plug set to turn on (sunset) and off automatically at certain times, which has been really useful for my lamps.
* Timers: The automatic timer feature is awesome for turning off the plug after a certain amount of time—I have a fan going in the gym, if it is left on by accident it automatically turns off after 2 hours.
* Electricity Usage: The app also shows the history of electricity usage, going from a single day to the year. It’s helped me keep track of how much energy my devices are using, and I’ve even cut down on some wasted power.
Design:
The plug is small and doesn’t take up much space, which is handy as some of my plug sockets are quite low to the ground. There’s also a manual switch on the side if you want to turn it on or off without using your phone—super convenient if your phone isn’t nearby.
Alexa Integration:
The Tapo app integrates with Alexa, so I can control everything with just my voice. “Alexa turn on the lights”. Obviously need to tell Alexa which sockets are lamps and which are other objects. But the name synchronise between Alexa and Tapo, so only need to do it once in Tapo.
Overall, I’m really happy with the Tapo Smart Plug. It’s easy to use, integrates well with other devices, and the energy monitoring is a nice bonus.

Useful and Great Value for Money
Having tried several different brands of Smart Plug, this definitely seems to be the best choice. Excellent value for money at only 10 (a third of the price of three Phillips Hue one). The app is easy to use and they are a breeze to set up. Seem very accurate so far. Options for setting up routines in the app etc. TP-Link tend to make quality products and glad to see they’ve lived up to their reputation here.

Great smart plug
After trying and getting frustrated with some lesser known brand smart plugs and their associated apps, I thought I’d try this one when I realised it was made by a reputable brand (TP Link). I already have some TP Link products that have worked very well so this gave some reassurance when ordering.
The plug itself is small, easy to set up (connected to the WiFi and worked first time) and the app is of a sufficient quality. Once up and running, it was very easy to connect to Alexa and all works well.
Very happy with this and would recommend to anyone looking for a smart plug from a known brand.
This is exactly what I was looking for. This plug is performing really well and it was really fast and easy to connect it to my phone. Now I can control a fan from my bed or another room. The timer function is also very useful. It fits a standard UK sockets well and isn’t covering the switches. I’m really happy with my purchase and the price is adequate, so I may actually buy a few more plugs to make my life more comfortable and easie
These plugs are great, it’s the fifth one I bought, very easy to install, it works great with Alexa, I can control it through the APP, it’s excellent, you can control it, you can also program it and it works great, for example at Christmas I used them for the tree Christmas and for the outside Christmas lights and everything is great.
Multiple purchases
I buy these every year as I always have more Christmas decorations. Pair well with Alexa. Easy to use. Note. If you have them switched off for weeks then they will loose their link to Alexa but easy to set up agai
Good energy monitoring function is a nice bonus
I don’t use the energy monitoring function as much as I did initially since I got a smart meter. But it is useful. I have quite a few without the monitor function too and they’re a bit cheaper. I have loads of tapo stuff, great quality, never lose signal, reliable and so easy to use. I’d recommend to anyone looking to control an appliance from their phone or through Google home/Alexa.
Simple smart switches.
These are simple smart switches that allow you to turn stuff on an off your home assistant of choice will be able to then connect to it and set things as expected.
Setup is initially a little convoluted but once you have done one they are really simple to get setup.
A Must when using Amazon Alexa!

these plugs are brilliant and worth every penny, but, once you have connected them to the Tappo App make sure you Link them first, otherwise, once you go into Amazon Alexa app it won’t see them, yes I did this wrong and spent ages (Hours) resetting them, trying again, reading the miniature instructions, throwing them across the room, you get the picture LoL..
5 Stars across the board for the product and 1 Star for this idiot missing out on the Link part. 🙂
Easy to Use
Very good and easy to use. Got them for 2 different thing, one is a lamp and the other is for part of a fish tank and they both seem to work very well. Completely Alexa compatible and the app is easy to use and understand
Great for lights
Bought this for Christmas lights as the socket is behind a unit, thought this would be a great option and I am not disappointed, took less than 5 minutes to connect to my WIFI and then to my Alexa to be able to use voice control, definitely recommend.

Easy to set up and link to Alexa. Good value vs other brands. Have them combined with other brands and all playing together. Actually a bit surprised because normally this kind of thing would be a massive fail for me.

Great plugs. Am using all 4 in my workshop for work with extraction using Alexa, and all work perfect.
Shame that due to black Friday the price has been hiked to 49.99 just to pretend that’s its now half price.
When I purchased they were 31.00 with no discount. But to lie and hike price up to make it out the it’s 50%off is deplorable. Big business cashing in again.

Dreadful customer service!!
If it breaks down and you need to get a replacement off TAPO it’ll cost you the price of a new one off Amazon fro them to replace it. You have to pay for your own shipping to return it then they charge a 6 handling fee!! Ffs! It’s their product that broke down why do I have to incur costs under a guarantee?
A high quality produc
It took a while to set them up (well I am age 75 ! ) on my iPhone but they are wonderfully easy to use using an Alexa voice control device or the Alexa App . I live in an old house where the electrical sockets are low on the scurting board and these save me bending down !!. I have bought 2 packs so.far but will be buying another pack of 4 soon . Highly recommended
