These are simple smart switches that allow you to turn stuff on an off your home assistant of choice will be able to then connect to it and set things as expected.
Setup is initially a little convoluted but once you have done one they are really simple to get setup.

    Hi Everyone,
these plugs are brilliant and worth every penny, but, once you have connected them to the Tappo App make sure you Link them first, otherwise, once you go into Amazon Alexa app it won’t see them, yes I did this wrong and spent ages (Hours) resetting them, trying again, reading the miniature instructions, throwing them across the room, you get the picture LoL..

5 Stars across the board for the product and 1 Star for this idiot missing out on the Link part. 🙂

I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to keep track of keep their energy costs and having more control just make sure you link it with smart hub(Alexa/Google hub)

Works well either manually, via the Tapo app or with Alexa after linking Tapo with it.
Nice being able to see how much power something is using in the Tapo app too.

Super easy to install and pair via the app and Google home.
The sense of power you feel turning things off via the Home app, when in a different country, is wonderful.
I could quite get the timer to work but that’s probably because I was rushing and didn’t have enough time to read the instructions fully.

Very easy to use product. Works with Alexa and other smart devices. East to set up and can basically control anything that you want to plug into it. Has its own app which comes with a range of pre-set controls but you can also create custom ones. Very good item and well priced in comparison to others. Would recommend.

Recommend these plugs very highly, already had 2, ordered another 4 pack. Recently updated to virgin hub 5, teckin plugs I had not compatible with 5ghz signal of hub 5. Although tapo state P100 only compatible with 2.4ghz, my router detected and connected them quickly with no messing about, hence I ordered more. Very Happy

How far technology has come. I can now emulate someone if at home whilst travelling. I will link these plugs to a tv simulator and a desk lamp to emulate being at home whilst travelling. I opted for this brand as I have Tapo security camera and never had any issues with them.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI purchased a 4 pack of Tapo smart plugs to use with Home Assistant as they were the lowest cost option from a known brand (25 at time of writing so only 6.25 per plug).

The TP Link Tapo app is perfectly serviceable and easily got the devices connected to my wifi network, but for Home Assistant users there is a community made Tapo integration for Home Assistant available through the HACS service so the devices can work fully offline and be used with automations within HA easily, providing much more power than the Tapo app on its own.

I have given this a five star reating as they work well and easy to set up. But
I am afraid Amazon employ ignorant people who cannot read or don’t want to so they leave the package outsid my property and where anyone can see it, except me of course because it has been dumped outside my property,I have about much chance of knowing where the parcel is than pigs can fly.
No good talking with Amazon as they take no notice of anyone.

My parents purchased a water fountain for the back garden, and it has to run for a period of time each day to keep it clean.. I got one of these smart plugs so that they could control the fountain without having to go into our outside cupboard where the sockets are every time they wanted to turn the fountain on.

We have a schedule set-up on the Tapo app that turns the fountain on at 10am and back off again an hour later.

Great little plug. Will definitely buy more of these in the future.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought these to replace some older smart plugs which no longer worked well with my wireless router.
I have a BT Smarthub 2 which is dual band wifi but you cannot separate the channels, so I had to have a separate wireless hub to run the old 2.4ghz plugs.
The new TP-Link Tapo smart plugs, although also 2.4ghz, integrate easily with the BT Smarthub 2, so I no longer need the separate wifi hub.
The old plugs were Teckin brand and worked perfectly with 2.4ghz, but I couldn’t get them to work with the BT hub. The new Tapo plugs had no problem with the BT hub and connected easily using the Tapo app, which is excellent.
It is easy to add the Tapo skill to Alexa and they work perfectly with Alexa.
I haven’t tried the timer function so I could not rate it.

I have a number of these plugs installed around house to switch on difficult to access wall sockets. The best use to date is the switching of my 4K projector. Plus its attached AV receiver, 4k Blu-ray disk player, amplifier sub woofer that all required individual switching on from different power sources. Now I just say. Alexa turn on projector and all devices turn on together. With regard to another posters comments about privacy. I wish that all our electronics were not made in PRC. As it is. They probably have access to all our networks via the PRC manufactured routers anyway. To counter any monitoring of my private info. I use an old mobile phone linked to Wi-Fi to set up devices. As it just holds a few pictures of my dog Freddie they will not learn a lot from me.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThese P110 plugs are great. You can turn them on-and-off with the Tapo app or you can do it with Alexa, which will autodiscover them. Setup is a breeze with the Tapo app and you can also see the energy consumption of connected devices through it. If you know your provider’s rate per kW/h you can tell the app that so it will show you energy consumption with the associated cost. There is also an integration for Homebridge if you are a tinkerer! Now the issues – due to the size of the plugs, if you have an outlet with USB ports they will be inaccessible (see photo). The plug also blocks the socket switch although this is less of an issues as you normally leave the Tapo plug powered on and switch it from the app. So overall great but be aware you may need to consider where you put them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great with some issues

I now have a few Tapo smart home devices at home, they all work seemingly together very easy to set up via the app, makes things a bit easier when switches are in hard to reach places and I can keep an eye on things if they are left on wasting energy when not needed!
Brought two packs while on offer as thinking way ahead these will be useful for that tree (and other lights) we put up at the end of the year (I refuse to use the word in August) instead of battling to get to switches and messing with manual timers!
I’m sure I will keep adding to my Tapo collection!

I have had these running now for ages, and they never never let me down. I even have one in the metal shed, to turn the garden lights on, and one in the greenhouse to turn soft lights on there, I say this because there is no problem with wifi signal range.
Easy to set up, far easier than other makes, very responsive, and incredibly reliable. The app can program each switch to come on and off several times a day if needed, with incredible accuracy, and remember these can be controlled from anywhere, if need be, even from Spain on holiday !. One thing I do like about these switches, is even if your router were to fail at home, the switches would still retain any schedule for turning lights on and off at home …. great value, and these really are the best versions I have known.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI quite like the tapo range of smart home products, and am a fan of this plug once set up, however I do have one small gripe.

As with all other tapo products we own, this plug would not connect with the wifi network coming directly from our router. I could get to the point in the set up of inputting the wifi password but then it then went to connect to it, it would inevitably fail to do so and put itself back into setup mode, with the app just freezing.

The only wifi network I could get these to initially connect to was that coming from any powerline wifi extender. I have no idea at all why this happens as the wifi coming from an extender is the same standard that comes from the router @ 2.4ghz. I’m not an IT professional but consider myself to be fairly proficient with computing / home networking and could not get any tapo item to connect to the router’s wifi signal.

Not the end of the world, and wouldn’t stop me buying more tapo products, but lead to a significant amount of frustration when I first set up some TP-link smart home items.

his has made life so much easier as i have a few lamps with hard to reach switches. i use the timer functions so that when i ge home my light is on and i don’t need to turn it off when i am going to bed. it has useful functions with siri so that you don’t need access to the app to control the plug. i am extremely pleased and am planning to buy more in the future. great option for its’ price

Super easy to set up and versatile app that allows you to schedule, time and see how long the devices have been on throughout the week.

The set-up for Tapo devices is very simple and the app will guide you through that process in a way that I believe most people could follow very confidently.
Once set up you get control over ON/OFF, and can schedule or use a timer on the plug. The app will also display stats about how much use the plug has had throughout the week.
I didn’t set these up with Alexa however I did assign them to my Google Home, and they work great with voice commands through my phone and my Google Home devices around the house.

If you want a simple smart plug that allows scheduling and can be linked to Alexa or Google I couldn’t recommend these more. They work great and the App is non-intrusive and easy to use.

Nothing to dislike, its easy to set up, and great to use either with alexa or its own app or just press the side on off, you can run anything, i have fairy lights running around the bedroom and ask aleca to turn on or off, great too to turn lights on if your away, also i have another i use with my dehumidifier, so their well worth having as can save money and add to security

Had previously bought (and returned) Amazon’s far more expensive smart plug, and Alexa wouldn’t respond to my name change for the plug, and instead the commands had to be to “first plug” or they wouldn’t work.

Opted for this and it works FAR better than Amazon’s, even with Alexa. It asks for the device name during setup, and works perfectly when I ask Alexa to “turn the TV on”.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, for a fraction of the price of Amazon’s version.

Having had various brands of smart plugs over the years I can honestly say these are the slickest and easiest to set up. Down load and register the app then the initial set up to link to you network is a piece of cake. Adding timers and other functions is a breeze. Not yet connected to Alexa, but I’m sure she’ll be a happy lady. Excellent value for a 4 pack. I set up all 4 for different applications in under 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend these.

I have now purchased a number or TP-Link Tapo Smart Products including a number of these plugs. I started with one because I had a plug socket behind a cabinet that was a bit of a pain to get to every time I wanted to switch the plug on, this seemed to be a solution to that issue. It worked very well with Alexa and I could see the benefits of having a numbers of these plugs, lights etc., as it becomes possible to switch on your plugs, etc., literally without lifting a finger.

Its possible to use them as plug with devices and switch those devices on and off using these plugs. If you have devices that you need to switch on and off at certain times, it is also possible to set timers to turn the plug on and off. I have some set to go off at a certain time daily in case I fall asleep leaving some things on, so they will not be on all night or wake you because they are still on. On the occasions I have done this the timer work well.

It is also possible to buy them with Monitoring to view your electricity usage, which these do not have. The Tapo smart light bulbs do, if you plan to use the smart plugs together with the Smart Bulbs. I was also a little surprised that they do not have surge protection, which is probably worth mentioning although its possible to fix this in other ways.

We are currently very pleased with these Tapo 110 smart plugs – They appear to be working well. No problems were encountered with connecting them to our router and our Amazon Alexa system recognised them almost immediately. These plugs were quite easy to set up and to program for on-off schedules or random switching and at the moment they are working as expected.

These plugs are really great. They are much more accurate than the manual ones and completely silent too as they are digital.

The plugs were really easy to set up with the app on Android and it took less than a minute for each one. I have already recommended these to a couple of friends who bought them and thing they are great too. If you need timers these are definitely good and work and most importantly can be got on sale for a awesome price if you’re patient hehe

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome timer plugs that work!

These devices are great for disabled people, no need to bend down or go into cramped areas to turn plugs on and off, was fairly easy to setup and has worked perfect since. If power is cut they will preserve their settings so no need to repair, but will reset to a on state, this means if you lose internet you can still turn these on.

Just be aware they do require internet connectivity for controlling via the app, and they will still use a couple of watts when the device is turned off to maintain their smart functionality.

I recently bought a 4-pack TP-Link Tapo Smart Plugs and they’re fantastic. The setup was straightforward with the Tapo app, and I found the compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to be a major plus.

The plugs offer remote access control, scheduling, and timers, all of which have made managing my devices a breeze. I also loved the feature of sharing management permissions with my family. In a nutshell, these smart plugs have streamlined my home automation, and I’m thoroughly impressed. They are undoubtedly a worthy investment for anyone keen on having a smart home.

My dad installed a shower pump, but it kept running unnecessarily which meant you can to keep turning it on and off everytime you wanted hot water. The problem with this is the pump is in my sisters bedroom and she’s not very happy about being disturbed so I bought this in the hope I could use it with the alexa in my bedroom and on the app when my toddlers asleep in my room. After a little bit of difficulty setting the plug up (wouldn’t flash green and orange) and following the instructions didn’t help initially, after a fiddling about for 5 minutes it was all up and running. It works perfectly with alexa and really easy to add to the app. I would definitely buy more and will be in time for Christmas for all my Christmas lights! No more fighting trees to get to switches

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI purchased this to keep tabs on electricity usage and the cost of working from home. With the rising cost of electricity at the moment I wanted to make sure it was still cost effective to work from home over the fuel cost to drive to the office, pleasantly pleased withe the accuracy that this records the KWH and displays instantaneous ammount of watts being drawn, you can even put in your current rate for pence per KWH so you can see daily, weekly or monthly costs.

With a laptop, 2 monitors and handful of ther chargers for work phone / headsets I’m glad to say it’s still cheaper to pay for the electricity than it is for the fuel in my case.

I plug a 4way extension lead into this so I can monitor all my work equipment at once. I plan to repeat this over the next few months for other groups of items arround the house to se did we can spot what the big costly items are to run and where we can pinch a few pounds a month!

    Would highly recommend!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPurchased these plugs with the intention of monitoring my cars charging costs. The plug was very easy to set up and for the first two nights worked great. However came to charge car on the third night and nothing. Plug is responsive and turns on and off via the app or the button but will not run the car charger.
Very disappointed what initially worked very well now fails to do what I purchased it for. The plug still works but not to charge my car. The car draw is only 2.3kwh max as its a 3 Pin charger. I have ordered a older Kasa unit as reports are very positive regarding this purpose.

Update I purchased a heavy duty extension lead of 10m instead of my 30m extension. This must have been the issue as the plug now works as intended I think the load of 10amp over a sustained period was too much for the cheaper 30m extension. My fault not the plug.
