    So easy to set up
I cant believe we didn’t find these sooner. We bought some of the Tapo cameras and then realised we didn’t want then on all the time, same with our lights… we just wanted them on more through the winter for the dogs.
They are super easy to set up and so long as you have good Internet connection they’re instantly reactive. I don’t doubt we will be buying more for our Christmas lights when the time comes.

Good product but app could be bette
Having purchased this product, I found it kind of finicky to setup and pair but got there eventually. The app is kind of ok with plenty of information but it could be a lot better if one had the option to add notes to the daily usage and daily costs along with total cost per month, other than that it does get get my seal of approval. A word of warning, do not unplug this device while it’s on load otherwise the internal relay contacts could weld themselves together. I say that because that’s exactly what I did and although the device was still turning on and off via the app it was still on when it should be off. It wasn’t the end of it as I gave it a good clout on the kitchen worktop and it did free the contacts. Overall I am happy with them.

Easy to use and good quality
Works well either manually, via the Tapo app or with Alexa after linking Tapo with it.
Nice being able to see how much power something is using in the Tapo app too.

    Easy peasy....
Super easy to install and pair via the app and Google home.
The sense of power you feel turning things off via the Home app, when in a different country, is wonderful.
I could quite get the timer to work but that’s probably because I was rushing and didn’t have enough time to read the instructions fully.

    Very Good Smart Plug
Very easy to use product. Works with Alexa and other smart devices. East to set up and can basically control anything that you want to plug into it. Has its own app which comes with a range of pre-set controls but you can also create custom ones. Very good item and well priced in comparison to others. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBest smart socket you can find
I have loads of smart devices at home, adding this socket to your home is very big upgrade. It’s not only extremely convenient to be able turn on lamps or irons but it saves money too.

For starters, the app works extremely easy, download the app, plug the socket and click scan. App will add your socket automatically and ask you to name it. From there you can chose which room it is, what time to turn on or off.
Alexa works extremely well. I have floor lamps with normal light bulbs in. I plugged to Tapo smart plug and now I can tun on light on and off via app, via Alexa or set to go on and off at certain times. I have ring alarm so I set a routine on my Alexa, when per sensor detect movement in my living room where lamp is, between 7pm and 9am it will automatically turn lamp on. It will automatically turn lamp off when it does not detects movement for 15min too. There is so many items you can plug and save money on electricity as well have safer home by turning lights or so plugged to this smart plug for you while you away,

The plug is very small and never has problem with connections. I have several of them as well as many tapo light bulbs. The future is now.

    Compatible with 5ghz route
Recommend these plugs very highly, already had 2, ordered another 4 pack. Recently updated to virgin hub 5, teckin plugs I had not compatible with 5ghz signal of hub 5. Although tapo state P100 only compatible with 2.4ghz, my router detected and connected them quickly with no messing about, hence I ordered more. Very Happy

How far technology has come. I can now emulate someone if at home whilst travelling. I will link these plugs to a tv simulator and a desk lamp to emulate being at home whilst travelling. I opted for this brand as I have Tapo security camera and never had any issues with them.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGood low cost option for Home Assista
I purchased a 4 pack of Tapo smart plugs to use with Home Assistant as they were the lowest cost option from a known brand (25 at time of writing so only 6.25 per plug).

The TP Link Tapo app is perfectly serviceable and easily got the devices connected to my wifi network, but for Home Assistant users there is a community made Tapo integration for Home Assistant available through the HACS service so the devices can work fully offline and be used with automations within HA easily, providing much more power than the Tapo app on its own.

Good product, shame about the delivery
I have given this a five star reating as they work well and easy to set up. But
I am afraid Amazon employ ignorant people who cannot read or don’t want to so they leave the package outsid my property and where anyone can see it, except me of course because it has been dumped outside my property,I have about much chance of knowing where the parcel is than pigs can fly.
No good talking with Amazon as they take no notice of anyone.

Everyone could use one of these for something. Extremely handy.
My parents purchased a water fountain for the back garden, and it has to run for a period of time each day to keep it clean.. I got one of these smart plugs so that they could control the fountain without having to go into our outside cupboard where the sockets are every time they wanted to turn the fountain on.

We have a schedule set-up on the Tapo app that turns the fountain on at 10am and back off again an hour later.

Great little plug. Will definitely buy more of these in the future.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersTapo Smart Plug is easy to set up, has a good app and works well with Alexa
I bought these to replace some older smart plugs which no longer worked well with my wireless router.
I have a BT Smarthub 2 which is dual band wifi but you cannot separate the channels, so I had to have a separate wireless hub to run the old 2.4ghz plugs.
The new TP-Link Tapo smart plugs, although also 2.4ghz, integrate easily with the BT Smarthub 2, so I no longer need the separate wifi hub.
The old plugs were Teckin brand and worked perfectly with 2.4ghz, but I couldn’t get them to work with the BT hub. The new Tapo plugs had no problem with the BT hub and connected easily using the Tapo app, which is excellent.
It is easy to add the Tapo skill to Alexa and they work perfectly with Alexa.
I haven’t tried the timer function so I could not rate it.

Excellent for control of multi device with one command.
I have a number of these plugs installed around house to switch on difficult to access wall sockets. The best use to date is the switching of my 4K projector. Plus its attached AV receiver, 4k Blu-ray disk player, amplifier sub woofer that all required individual switching on from different power sources. Now I just say. Alexa turn on projector and all devices turn on together. With regard to another posters comments about privacy. I wish that all our electronics were not made in PRC. As it is. They probably have access to all our networks via the PRC manufactured routers anyway. To counter any monitoring of my private info. I use an old mobile phone linked to Wi-Fi to set up devices. As it just holds a few pictures of my dog Freddie they will not learn a lot from me.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGreat with some issues
These P110 plugs are great. You can turn them on-and-off with the Tapo app or you can do it with Alexa, which will autodiscover them. Setup is a breeze with the Tapo app and you can also see the energy consumption of connected devices through it. If you know your provider’s rate per kW/h you can tell the app that so it will show you energy consumption with the associated cost. There is also an integration for Homebridge if you are a tinkerer! Now the issues – due to the size of the plugs, if you have an outlet with USB ports they will be inaccessible (see photo). The plug also blocks the socket switch although this is less of an issues as you normally leave the Tapo plug powered on and switch it from the app. So overall great but be aware you may need to consider where you put them.

Another device to add to my collectio
I now have a few Tapo smart home devices at home, they all work seemingly together very easy to set up via the app, makes things a bit easier when switches are in hard to reach places and I can keep an eye on things if they are left on wasting energy when not needed!
Brought two packs while on offer as thinking way ahead these will be useful for that tree (and other lights) we put up at the end of the year (I refuse to use the word in August) instead of battling to get to switches and messing with manual timers!
I’m sure I will keep adding to my Tapo collection!

These are just the best out of all other manufactured types ...
I have had these running now for ages, and they never never let me down. I even have one in the metal shed, to turn the garden lights on, and one in the greenhouse to turn soft lights on there, I say this because there is no problem with wifi signal range.
Easy to set up, far easier than other makes, very responsive, and incredibly reliable. The app can program each switch to come on and off several times a day if needed, with incredible accuracy, and remember these can be controlled from anywhere, if need be, even from Spain on holiday !. One thing I do like about these switches, is even if your router were to fail at home, the switches would still retain any schedule for turning lights on and off at home …. great value, and these really are the best versions I have known.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent and cheap with one slight frustratio
I quite like the tapo range of smart home products, and am a fan of this plug once set up, however I do have one small gripe.

As with all other tapo products we own, this plug would not connect with the wifi network coming directly from our router. I could get to the point in the set up of inputting the wifi password but then it then went to connect to it, it would inevitably fail to do so and put itself back into setup mode, with the app just freezing.

The only wifi network I could get these to initially connect to was that coming from any powerline wifi extender. I have no idea at all why this happens as the wifi coming from an extender is the same standard that comes from the router @ 2.4ghz. I’m not an IT professional but consider myself to be fairly proficient with computing / home networking and could not get any tapo item to connect to the router’s wifi signal.

Not the end of the world, and wouldn’t stop me buying more tapo products, but lead to a significant amount of frustration when I first set up some TP-link smart home items.

    Easy setup and great functionality
Super easy to set up and versatile app that allows you to schedule, time and see how long the devices have been on throughout the week.

The set-up for Tapo devices is very simple and the app will guide you through that process in a way that I believe most people could follow very confidently.
Once set up you get control over ON/OFF, and can schedule or use a timer on the plug. The app will also display stats about how much use the plug has had throughout the week.
I didn’t set these up with Alexa however I did assign them to my Google Home, and they work great with voice commands through my phone and my Google Home devices around the house.

If you want a simple smart plug that allows scheduling and can be linked to Alexa or Google I couldn’t recommend these more. They work great and the App is non-intrusive and easy to use.

Does what it says on the ti
Had previously bought (and returned) Amazon’s far more expensive smart plug, and Alexa wouldn’t respond to my name change for the plug, and instead the commands had to be to “first plug” or they wouldn’t work.

Opted for this and it works FAR better than Amazon’s, even with Alexa. It asks for the device name during setup, and works perfectly when I ask Alexa to “turn the TV on”.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, for a fraction of the price of Amazon’s version.

    So easy to set up
Having had various brands of smart plugs over the years I can honestly say these are the slickest and easiest to set up. Down load and register the app then the initial set up to link to you network is a piece of cake. Adding timers and other functions is a breeze. Not yet connected to Alexa, but I’m sure she’ll be a happy lady. Excellent value for a 4 pack. I set up all 4 for different applications in under 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend these.

Switch on your plugs, literally without lifting a finger.
I have now purchased a number or TP-Link Tapo Smart Products including a number of these plugs. I started with one because I had a plug socket behind a cabinet that was a bit of a pain to get to every time I wanted to switch the plug on, this seemed to be a solution to that issue. It worked very well with Alexa and I could see the benefits of having a numbers of these plugs, lights etc., as it becomes possible to switch on your plugs, etc., literally without lifting a finger.

Its possible to use them as plug with devices and switch those devices on and off using these plugs. If you have devices that you need to switch on and off at certain times, it is also possible to set timers to turn the plug on and off. I have some set to go off at a certain time daily in case I fall asleep leaving some things on, so they will not be on all night or wake you because they are still on. On the occasions I have done this the timer work well.

It is also possible to buy them with Monitoring to view your electricity usage, which these do not have. The Tapo smart light bulbs do, if you plan to use the smart plugs together with the Smart Bulbs. I was also a little surprised that they do not have surge protection, which is probably worth mentioning although its possible to fix this in other ways.

We are currently very pleased with these Tapo 110 smart plugs – They appear to be working well. Awesome timer plugs that work!
These plugs are really great. They are much more accurate than the manual ones and completely silent too as they are digital.

The plugs were really easy to set up with the app on Android and it took less than a minute for each one. I have already recommended these to a couple of friends who bought them and thing they are great too. If you need timers these are definitely good and work and most importantly can be got on sale for a awesome price if you’re patient hehe

They work very well, great for disabled people.
These devices are great for disabled people, no need to bend down or go into cramped areas to turn plugs on and off, was fairly easy to setup and has worked perfect since. If power is cut they will preserve their settings so no need to repair, but will reset to a on state, this means if you lose internet you can still turn these on.

Just be aware they do require internet connectivity for controlling via the app, and they will still use a couple of watts when the device is turned off to maintain their smart functionality.

"A Smart Home Revolution with TP-Link Tapo Smart Plug!"
I recently bought a 4-pack TP-Link Tapo Smart Plugs and they’re fantastic. The setup was straightforward with the Tapo app, and I found the compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to be a major plus.

The plugs offer remote access control, scheduling, and timers, all of which have made managing my devices a breeze. I also loved the feature of sharing management permissions with my family. Shower pump saviou
My dad installed a shower pump, but it kept running unnecessarily which meant you can to keep turning it on and off everytime you wanted hot water. The problem with this is the pump is in my sisters bedroom and she’s not very happy about being disturbed so I bought this in the hope I could use it with the alexa in my bedroom and on the app when my toddlers asleep in my room. After a little bit of difficulty setting the plug up (wouldn’t flash green and orange) and following the instructions didn’t help initially, after a fiddling about for 5 minutes it was all up and running. It works perfectly with alexa and really easy to add to the app. I would definitely buy more and will be in time for Christmas for all my Christmas lights! No more fighting trees to get to switches

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPlug into an extension lead to monitor multiple appliances
I purchased this to keep tabs on electricity usage and the cost of working from home. With the rising cost of electricity at the moment I wanted to make sure it was still cost effective to work from home over the fuel cost to drive to the office, pleasantly pleased withe the accuracy that this records the KWH and displays instantaneous ammount of watts being drawn, you can even put in your current rate for pence per KWH so you can see daily, weekly or monthly costs.

With a laptop, 2 monitors and handful of ther chargers for work phone / headsets I’m glad to say it’s still cheaper to pay for the electricity than it is for the fuel in my case.

I plug a 4way extension lead into this so I can monitor all my work equipment at once. I plan to repeat this over the next few months for other groups of items arround the house to se did we can spot what the big costly items are to run and where we can pinch a few pounds a month!

    Would highly recommend!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWon't run car Granny charge
Purchased these plugs with the intention of monitoring my cars charging costs. The plug was very easy to set up and for the first two nights worked great. However came to charge car on the third night and nothing. Plug is responsive and turns on and off via the app or the button but will not run the car charger.
Very disappointed what initially worked very well now fails to do what I purchased it for. The plug still works but not to charge my car. The car draw is only 2.3kwh max as its a 3 Pin charger. I have ordered a older Kasa unit as reports are very positive regarding this purpose.

Update I purchased a heavy duty extension lead of 10m instead of my 30m extension. This must have been the issue as the plug now works as intended I think the load of 10amp over a sustained period was too much for the cheaper 30m extension. My fault not the plug.

    Fantastic produc
Have been using this smart plug for the past 4 months to provide basic timer control for our central heating (really old system with a broken mechanical timer).

The Tapo is situated in a cupboard about as far away from the router as possible (standard 3-bed UK semi-detached house) but the connection has been rock solid. We haven’t tried to do anything fancy, simply set up a schedule and have a manual override, has worked flawlessly and already easily paid its cost back in gas savings several times over.

Even my wife (who hates technology) is happily using the app on her phone to control it.

I’m hoping this will be a money saving purchase.

One of the best smart plugs that I have used
This is my third brand of smart plugs that I have purchased. It has both Bluetooth and Wifi connections, so installation via smart phone is earlier. Some other brands only have wifi connections which make installation a bit more difficult. My only issue would be I would have selected the smaller version of these smart plugs, so save on space, but again that my mistake.
The manufacturing quality and material used is very good, and look decent, however do make your wall switches protrude a bit.
It also connected to Google home very easily and can thus control these switches via voice command.
Now that energy costs are rising, you really need appliances that make switching off appliances off when not in use is even more critical.
They came in minimal packaging, which I appreciate and like.
    Would highly recommend it.

Super easy to set up and use. Easily turn any plug into a smart plug controlled by Alexa.
We use it for a lamp that’s normally a pain to turn on and off because of where it’s situated.
Also very easy to set timer which is especially handy for lamps/lights.

Great product does what it is supposed to do. The product however requires a different app compared to other TP Link products like Kasa which means if you have these products you need two apps on your phone to manage them. Not ideal if you already have existing products from the same company.

I purchased a single Tapo smart plug to put on an inaccessible power socket that an old style timer plug was on. Each time the clocks went forward or back, it was a nightmare to change the times. Not now, the Tapo plug can be controlled by Alexa or the Tapo app. Schedules are easy to set up. Needless to say, I now have nine of these controlling everything.

Easy to use, great for portable heaters
Bought these for my disabled mother who has portable heaters to heat the living room. After getting a bill of about 800 quid last winter i needed to find a solution to reduce the heating bills. So i got these, set timers for the heating to come on and turn off which has massively reduced the amount of energy used to heat the living room for her. Was easy enough to set up. She is happy that she can just say “alexa turn on the heating: and on it goes saving her from getting up to turn them on which she struggles with. Very happy with them.

I already have a couple of these plugs that have functioned flawlessly for over a year. I ordered these to control more devices remotely.

I already have the app for them on my phone so installation was easy and took a few minutes.

They are much smaller and unobtrusive than most smart plugs on the market and their wifi seems to hold its connection well.

Very easy set up. Scan the Q-code on the box to access the app. Down load the TAPO app. Add your wireless network details and allow the app to scan for devices. Name them accordingly and link with ALEXA by adding the TAPO skill – you can find this by searching in the ALEXA app. Rename the devices to what ever you want to call them for example LAMP 1 and away you go. Super easy and had both devices up and running within 5 minutes. So impressed I have purchased more.

I wanted to safely switch on a 2000 watt heater remotely and these are rated for it. Like other TP products I own, high quality and fuss free. In a 4 pack they were less than 6.50 each. Also I trust the TP link app which seems far more refined than same, or cheaper price, unbranded clones. My frustration is never with the bulbs, but with Alexa itself.

Great product and very quickly connected and synced in my Tapo App but unfortunately can not get the plug recognised in my eFamilyCloud app. The difference being that with the family app I don’t need to unlock my phone to turn switches on and off. Easy to set up, I can do things more easily 😊
We’ve been building up our ‘smart stuff’ at home in hope it would make life easier for me as I’m disabled.

We use Google Nest and have smart lights and dockets with tapo. Originally I looked at reviews and price…. Tried a few different brands but I do like tapo the best I think.

Easy interface which I’ve never had any issues setting up. I just plug in, go through the screens then it comes up on my Google Home.

Can’t tell you the difference this has made. 8 bought this pack of 4 as it worked out cheaper per socket. My bedside lamp is a smart bulb as I enjoy changing the colour of the lights but honestly… I prefer the sockets as they can be used on all sorts.

    I have tapo sockets on:

Several sets of very low every led fairy lights… They’re pretty…. Some next to my bed, some around plants etc. The sockets are behind a piano… Behind a sofa and behind a bookshelf so now I can use my phone as a remote control or use voice command.

My bedroom fish tank so I can hance it on and off as I and the plants and fish want to. The socket is hard to reach and I like being able to turn it off last thing at night.

Also at my bedside I have a fan and heated blanket as because of my condition I am sensitive to temperature, sensation and pain. If I get cold or hot it can be painful and weird… So! Now I can control these on my phone, or my voice or I can press the button on the tapo socket and switch on there.

I can say “hey Google, turn the fan on (or off!) in 5 minutes”.

I can be on my way home and go on my phone and turn my heated bed blanket on.

Totally feels like I’m on Startrek sometimes….

The other thing I like is that I can leave a room and without having to stand for ages switching stuff off (I’m a wheelchair user. Standing is the enemy). I can just say “hey hmgoogle, turn everything off”

    Brilliant.

I’ve had no trouble with all of the tapo plug sockets I’ve had.

I have not used the tapo timer function. Might try that when next away and come back.

    Does the job
For the price, I think this was a good purchase. It’s a simple no frills smart plug that is very easy to setup and very easy to use. There are features that I think would be good, like turn off 30 minutes after it turns on, but overall, it is fine.

It can be easily controlled by Alexa to turn on and off. The Tapo app is required for usage and covers some simple rules such as turn on at specific time. One nice feature is the turn on/off according to sunset sunrise. It also keeps a record of how long it has been turned on for.

Bought this for an under rug heater I use in my office. I was able to set it to come on early –0430 –so when I get to the office, it has taken the edge of the cold mornings. It then turns itself off late afternoon.

Overall great produc

    Work quite well
These adapters plug into the mains and then you plug the appliance you wish to control into the adapter. Then you have to set up a routine in the Alexa app to turn the appliance on or off at a specific time. I use them to turn off the TV set and the Standard Lamp automatically at 11pm every evening after I have gone to bed. However, I am bound to say these smart home devices are only as reliable as your internet connection! If your internet drops out at any point during the evening, then you can find the standard lamp or whatever is still on the next morning! It is advisable to tell Alexa to turn off the device when you go to bed so you know the command has been carried out. It does not matter if a device that is set to be turned off later is turned off earlier. If you forget to turn something off when you leave the room, in most instances your Alexa routine will turn it off for you. I would not use these smart adapters to control appliances in an unoccupied house as reliability is an issue. A mechanical time switch is much more reliable.

These smart plugs are simple yet brilliant – I have 6 of them now due to the ease of installation and use. The app is also simple to use, even when away from home and has a range of scheduling and timer options to automate the home. This controls fish tank lights coming on/off automatically, a lamp to come on at sunset or randomly when away, Christmas lights, kill switch for TV when kids act up be aware they do mean your plug will stick further out from the wall, but are small enough that I still managed to have them behind furniture on hard to reach plug sockets. Setting up the smart plugs is very easy and mostly automatic. The features of the smart plugs are sufficient for my purpose – mostly turning lights on / off according to sunrise / sunset times.

I originally had Wemo plugs installed but they are so big and bulky they don’t fit very well on mains extensions sockets normally taking up two spaces.

Bought one of these for the home office light, and found that it was reporting back to the iPhone Alexa app, with its status, whereas the Wemo wasn’t.

Just took the plunge and replaced the Wemo’s with Tapo plugs. Much nicer, smaller, and report their status with Alexa correctly.

This smart plug is incredibly, most smart devices work off the 2.4ghz signal from your WiFi but some of us (me) can’t split our WiFi signal in two. This plug doesn’t need that it uses its Bluetooth to connect to your device and then it uses its WiFi signal to connect to your WiFi hub . The time it took to have this connected …about 10 seconds . Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSmart plug - works perfectly.
I purchased three of these plugs for our Christmas lights to use alongside our recent Alexa Echo Dot.

One of the plugs is indoors under the Christmas Tree. The other two are outside in a wheelie bin, plugged into an extension lead. They are NOT marketed for outdoor use, but I’ve had them in a relatively damp environment for a few weeks with no issues. All three plugs were picked up straightaway by the required app and I was able to give them names. After that I discarded the app and controlled them directly through Alexa. They need to be kept powered, otherwise they will lose the wifi and their current state. It takes a minute to find these again, although they work through it on their own. It does mean that you can’t put these plugs in series though, as I found out!

They operate by switching the power to the output device on when they receive a signal from your wi-fi to do so. This signal is sent from Alexa or any other controlling device. I’ve also been experimenting with OpenHAB to do the same thing, and of course the initial app would control them via your smartphone if you haven’t got a smart home controller. They switch on in around half a second from asking Alexa, which is mainly Alexa’s own delays and not the plug’s.

I’ll be purchasing more of these devices when I get my home automation project properly off the ground.

I like tech gadgets so I bought this to give them a try. They’re actually pretty great. I’ve downloaded the Tapo app and have installed Tapo bulbs and an indoor Tapo camera. The app is reliable and easy to use, and you can control all your Tapo devices from there. We use these for lamps that have switches which are located in hard to reach places. It works well
I first purchased Amazon’s, own brand of smart plug which was far more expensive but integrated with the Alexa app very easily. Impressed with the concept of smart plugs I went for a far cheaper option and bought 1 tapo plug, found it worked and bought a further 7. Not so easy to set up and you do have to download the tapo app.
Works well with Alexa app. I found setting up schedules somewhat confusing at first but once I had conquered one plug the other 6 plugs were much easier to set up! So far all plugs have worked perfectly. These are basically on/off switches which I voice control through Alexa and app. I connected one of my non smart TVs and found I could turn it on and off. You cannot control the volume or change channels. Over all I would recommend tapo plugs particularly if buying in bulk. They work as described but don’t expect it to do more than turn things off and on and act as a timer.

    Great TPLink smart sockets
Have tried quite a few of these from different manufacturers and these seem to be as good if not better than most. Simple to set up including Alexa integration. My only disappointment here was you need another app (Tapo) vs using the one I already have (eFamilyCloud) – not a problem when I use Alexa to control the sockets but not so good if using my phone. The biggest question is how long they last – just had to throw away 4 sockets from other manufacturers (just couldn’t get them to reset / work – hence why I bought these). Let’s see?
