Straight from the box this is obviously well made and packaged. It’s mostly a mass of cables, but the various connectors are sturdy and well made so it’s obvious why it’s a little more expensive than the ones you can buy in budget stores.
This is a fancy version of the old trailing wire FM extensions that used to come with hi-fis and radios. Obviously it’s set up to catch a different frequency but the idea is straightforward and simple. You plug the end into your coaxial socket on the television and then put the thin plastic panel somewhere in the room to catch the broadcast signal. It has a sticky pad so you can fasten it in place, although I’d recommend making sure you have the reception you want before sticking it on permanently.
If you live in a good location that could be all you need to do, however if not there’s also a small powered signal booster in the cable that can amplify your reception. It’s powered by a USB adapter so you need to have the capacity to plug it in relatively near the tv. The whole array then takes up the job that a roof mounted aerial usually does.
If you already have a roof mounted aerial but want to use a portable without having to have an extension fitted, or if you often visit a caravan or go camping this could be ideal for you. If wherever you’re planning to use it has strong reception then you should probably be okay, however if not then it’s unlikely to work, even with the booster. I live in a significantly low area compared to the surrounding countryside, it’s actually a frost hollow in cold weather, and we need a taller than average aerial as well as a powered booster in order to get a signal. I set this kit up but the television didn’t pick up any signal whatsoever. I’ve also tried it at my daughter’s house which is higher than us but it didn’t work there either.
I’m still giving it four stars because it’s well made and the actual principle is sound, but it needs a good signal to work with. If you remember that and check out where you intend to use it beforehand then it’s a good idea to get one.

WE LIKED THE PRODUCT IT IS SMALL AND COMPACT EASY TO INSTALL.
THE REASON WE BOUGHT IT WAS OUR ARIEL ON THE ROOF BROKE, AND THE PRICE FOR REPLACEMENT WAS FAR TO HIGH JUST UNDER 650 SO WE DECIDED TO GET AN INDOOR ARIEL WHICH IS BETTER THAN OUR AXPECTATIONS.
WE WILL BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE FOR OUR TV IN THE BEDROOM.
GREAT VALUE FOR WHAT WE PAID AND FAST DELIVERY.

Nice product, thin unobtrusive. Signal has to be good for it to work. 200 mile range for transmitter I think is optimistic. Idea for bedroom/ second tv.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used it for a small tv in the bedroom where I didn’t have access to an outdoor ariel. Although it said it was best placed by a window there wasn’t enough lead but I was still able to receive the digital channels I wanted.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve always been a bit suspicious of this kind of thing but now we have one i’m a convert. I wouldn’t use it for the main TV but for out in the kitchen or another room in the house this is excellent. It comes with the required connections and plenty of cable, you simply plug in the USB and the Aerial cable into the back of your tellybox (it comes with a splitter with both cables running out of it), run the tuning your TV and that’s it!

The picture quality is perfectly acceptable, as hinted at above, I wouldn’t have it in the main TV but that’s also because we have the proper and right boxes etc in there so why would we.

We selected automatic digital tuning but didn’t get ITV and CH4 so ran the manual option and it found them straight away. The adhesive pads to stick the aerial aren’t up to much so if you want to stick it on the wall you’ll have to find another way but that really is a minor gripe. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this aerial to anyone.
