Professional, simple to use, very lightweight, but please note they are use a separate frequency to other walkie talkies such as Boafeng and therefore may look the same but are not compatible with other basic radio systems.
Purchased these for me and my friends whilst we go on long journey convoys, great quality radios and above average distance – battery lasted me a full weekend of constant usage, the push to talk lag is non-existent and the speaker quality is actually better than some of the expensive versions.
Had to return these on day two. Great walkie talkies and works without a fault, but next morning after using them, I woke up to the sound of what I believe were construction men squabbling over some kind of layout. Turns out I forgot to turn it off before I slept.
I bought this for the sole purpose of talking in real-time with my friend (who is old school and doesn’t use Discord or WhatsApp ect) when carrying out missions on a multiplayer video game where ingame communication is strictly limited.
The last thing I want is anyone picking up on whatever channel we’re speaking on, assume we’re actually engaging in illicit activities and put the SWAT on us.
5.0 out of 5 stars Walkie and talkie
No issues with the product or delivery. Does what is expected and easy to use. Very happy.
I bought these for my staff at work to use in a building with ALLOT of metal. I was concerned they would not work, however they exceeded my expectations. My only negative (not the end of the world) is they do catch interference sometimes from other devices. Mostly just static with the odd occasional word.
Battery life is great, they last for a full work shift at minimum, but have not yet tested the full life.
All in all, for the low cost, these are brilliant little talkies. I might buy another pair.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little radios
Would of got 5 stars if the included the charging plug but apart from that pretty good, nice and clear and built in battery is a winner for me
What I liked about this product was the included earpiece and far range distance and quality sound overall great produc
Great walkie talkies
My son was wanting walkie talkies so bought these and there brilliant it reaches so far, I can go upto the shop and he cam still hear me and its a bit away. Really pleased with these
Good range
Brought to use during fishing trips. Only used once so far but impressed by range and audio quality good. Not tested over long period period so can’t comment on battery life but so far so good
Bought to use when negotiating the narrows on the Llangollen Canal
We use them when cycling to talk to each other. Just slip on the earpiece and use the small button on the earpiece cable so don’t have to push the button on the radio. Both of us think they are great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great range
I bought these for my neighbour who needs to keep in contact with his sick wife. Has given them peace of mind.
Amazing battery life
Excellent radios, I bought these last year and use them for hunting for around 8 hours at a time.
Battery life is incredible and lasted full 7 days without a recharge, in fact they did not run out and 1 hour to top up again.
I just took them out after 6 months packed away and went to charge, battery still full and no charge requred.
It’s safe to say that if you are not a chatterbox and use for proper transmissions only the battery saver is very effective as my field use has shown no harly any drain at all.
Highly recommended purchase
It’s good but people keep connecting to the same channel
The radios are perfect for the job I do but every now and again I hear static noise, almost like someone else is on our channel, would recommend for value for money.
I bought these to be able to keep in contact with the wife when we are in the garden and working at distance from each other. She found them very easy to use and likes the size. Only one problem sometimes others are using the same channel and you get interruptions. We found a channel not in use in our area and we know others can if they want hear what we say but they do not know who or where we are so to ask each other for help now and then these are ideal. I took one to a supper market about two miles away and got a really good reception when she contacted me, shook the lady on the till when the wife asked me to get some daffodils whilst there. You can also add to the two sets as long as we all set the same channel we are set to go. But very good value for what we need them for.
Liked the overall product for the price, they are clear & work well. The instructions are limited & do not contain any information on the VOX function. Finally worked how to operate VOX as the information I found did not work.
For VOX function do as follows.
Turn the walkie talkie off and set the Channel to 1 to 5, this sets the Vox sensitivity 1 being most sensitive I think.
Now press the PTT & Mon (D&E) at the same time, holding them pressed switch the unit on & turn the volume up as you do so to hear what is being said. You should hear either VOX on or VOX off then power on. If the VOX was set this will turn the VOX off, so repeat to turn VOX on or visa versa. Now you set which channel you want to use the units on say ch10 on both units, the volume has to be high to get the best results when using VOX I have found. Use the small clip on the ear piece to hold the microphone as close as possible to your mouth and it functions really well. You need to speak close into either the mic ear piece or the mic on the units for the best results. Once VOX is set it remembers it I think until you turn the function off as indicated above. I hope this helps.
It’s easy to use. Easy to set up.
I prefer the usb charging method as the cradles area but bulky and no where near as portable.
But we use them with the earpeices and I can hear pretty clearly.
The sticking point is it’s LACK of complexity.
I pick up taxi calls all if the time..
When you use your walkie talkies that cuts over the taxi signals.
So it’s not too much of a problem.
These things are great.
I use them over 7hour period. And the battery life doesn’t let me down.
They are as cheap as a toy but they work brilliantly as proper communication devices.i have not tested the 3 km range.
But I have tested over 800 m. They work really well.
I get the feeling that the casing is brittle so I wouldn’t like to drop them.
But all in all..
A good product..
Been using these radios for airsoft for a long time now.
They have a good long battery life can last a whole day of use.
Sound quality is decant and consistent with the ear pieces that also are good quality as they stay in your ear even when running and moving around lots.
Can withstand the elements i have used them in heavy rain and very wet and muddy conditions. And they are like new still.
As for the range of the radios I’ve only used them within a 3/4 mile radius roughly of each other and they seem to be fine and work.
All in all great set for a great price. Would recommend
Great for road & camping trips
We were able to use this on our road trip just recently & the range was good upto about 3km. There was a lot of interference from other radios mainly HGV’s but when we changed channel it helped. Not as good when driving through built up areas, as you would expect. Still for the price i would recommend them.
Bought these to use with my 6 year old for his Christmas present and he loves them. Great value for money, far better than buying a specific ‘toy’ walkie talkie set that have far less range at twice the price. I have rated these according to the price I paid.
Sure, they look and feel a bit cheap and light but they do the job well. In my day job I use professional Motorola radio sets and I was surprised by how effective and clear these are for the money. It looks like there are several ‘brands’ of these all coming out the same Chinese factory so can’t say much about this specific brand.
Just be careful what you say as they are not secure, and don’t claim to be. Even in our semi rural location with no commercial premises for miles they seem to pick up a bit of cross traffic. I’ve noticed a lot of shops and restaurants use these for staff to communicate with each other so if you live near any places like this you may well end up being asked to get a pair of size 9 Hush Puppies in brown from the stock room.
Good value though, great as a toy.
There appear to be various options and capabilities as you peruse the Amazon website. You are not too sure what features you will actually get. For the price I decided to to give it a go anyway. On receipt I found that the somewhat basic instruction leaflet states that it puts out .5 watts not the hoped for 5 watts. It also states that it is UK pmr446 frequency legal. On test I found that the first 8 channels do indeed connect to my other little totally legal pmr radios. I have no idea what the second batch of channels 8-16 connect too apart from another of these same particular radios. The antenna, on the pair I received, is NOT removable. I only use the radios as basically house intercoms so can’t comment yet on actual range yet. The audio quality is very good. It appears that it MAY(?) be possible to use a program called CHIRP (easily downloadable) if you also purchase the required connecting lead for a PC to switch these radios to the high power state (5 watt) amongst other things. Maybe something for the future. The included chargers work fine but they have to be plugged into a usb wall plug (not supplied) or your PC/laptop. Overall, for the money, they work very well!
After 6 months use I can now update my previous review. The extra 8 channels numbers 9-16 are additional LEGAL channels that were added to the PMR specifications in 2018 so are perfectly legal to use. These channels are not included in the usual “toy(!)” radios that are readily available from many high street retailers. The high power setting gives 2 watts rather than the previously mentioned 5 watts. Other than these additional comments, the sets still work perfectly. It is wonderful not to have to keep buying batteries (rechargeable or alkaline) as the included lithium packs just recharge perfectly in their docks. Still very happy!
