A bird bath is an educational and interesting addition to any birder or gardener’s outdoor space. A ground bath, like the Wildlife World Oasis Bird Bath, is a practical and easy basin-style bath that can be placed directly on the ground. With proper care, you can be amazed at the variety of feathered friends this fresh water source will attract!
Birds need water for drinking and bathing. While many people put out food for birds fewer provide a regular supply of clean water. Many seed-eating birds have a dry diet and therefore need to drink more, but water to bathe in is equally important. Bathing and preening are important parts of feather maintenance, baths help remove dirt, loose feathers, and other debris. A good bird bath has a rough surface so birds can grip it with their claws. Moreover, having shallow sloping sides to approach the water with varying water depths to allow each species to bathe at their preferred depth is ideal. The positioning of the bath is also very important, birds will only use it if they feel safe. Bird baths are the fastest and simplest way to add water to your garden bird habitat.
HOW TO USE
- Place the bird bath on the ground or a flat surface.
- Fill to the top step with water.
- Clean the bowl often and provide fresh water on a regular basis.
- Clean out droppings or algae frequently and do not allow water to get murky (this attracts mosquitoes).
- TIP: An ideal location will feature shrubs and trees for bird safety. Place away from any areas with predators (such as cats).

Not too Impressed
I thought this was quite pretty in my garden and have put a small solar powered bubble fountain in it but already it is losing its colour. It gets dirty very quickly and although I clean it each day you cannot get all the grime off and trying to with the hose I have noticed the light green colour is wearing off!

Great for small mammals and insects to get a drink
I like the gentle graduation of the depth of water in this dish. I have placed a few small pebbles in it so that insects can get a drink and safely leave again. I had never seen anything like this before so was very pleased when it arrived and does what it says on the tin.

This was a BD pressie to replace a plastic saucer. It good and birds happily bathing. I also put a large stone in middle for them to perch on. My BD February and put it out 4 weeks ago. Think I’ll bring it into garage during cold weather, as I do with some other things
I’ve watched bees trying to get a drink and ended up having to save it when it fell in.
This is amazing for all species to get a drink. I love the staged stepping and the beautiful design plus the fact it is recycled
It seems like a simple design so not sure why these have not been made before. Brilliant.
Price point is modest enough.

Pleased with this as are the birds in my garden.
This was just what I wanted and I hope that in time it will weather to a shade of grey as the colour makes it look very new and stands out.
I received this birdbath only 4 days after ordering so was pleased with the service. Unfortunately it was unsuitable for the place in the garden that I had in mind but it seemed very sturdy and practical if you want a birdbath/feeder without a plinth/column. Would be ideal for a low wall or similar.

Birds like it. Could have done with it being a bit bigger. Seems a little expensive but if durable will be worth it.
Small but sturdy
Birds don’t really go to this yet, perhaps they will over time. I gave it some water to start but the paint flaked off, so I will re decorate when I have the chance and can find a similar paint.

Didn’t read the description properly, thought it was made of stone. However very please with purchase and it blends in well in the garden.
Attractive and well designed
Well made and very attractive to look at. I like that small birds can safely take a bath, and that bees can also have access to water and drink in safety because of the ‘stepped’ effect. Unfortunately neither the birds or bees seem interested. It’s probably that they just need to get used to it, or that I haven’t put it in the right place. Will keep experimenting. . 🙂
After 3 months had none of the paint peeling issues done do; it’s extremely popular with insects, added pebbles and perfect for bees from neighbours hives. The steps mean accumulates muck and algae and too shallow for birds but for insects it seems to be doing an excellent job. It is quite ugly and dirty looking by design.
The birds seem to like the bird bath. Unfortunately the outer cream coating seems to just flake off revealing a grey interior. The birds might like it but I don’t.

We purchased this product as although the birds loved our previous bird bath unfortunately it was made if metal and was prone to rust. This bath is so safe with and as the base is graduated it attracts all kind of birds and bees.
Good quality small birdbath
This is a good quality little birdbath. It’s not quite as deep as I was expecting, but that’s probably my fault for not reading the description correctly. The material it’s made from makes it frost resistant, but also light enough to easily move around the garden.
Green not stone coloured but does the job
This is the product I expected it to be – save for the fact it’s very much green in colour rather than the more neutral stone colour it appears in the picture. Birds use it, it sits on my patio and hasn’t moved in high winds even though it’s quite light – I assume because a full thing of water gives it enough weight to stay put. Happy days.
Great for birds and insects and easy to clean. Only down side is the green coating has come off in places leaving small chips of the black material showing through.
My husband made our water feature deeper so it was too deep for birds to wash in . I bought this item to stand by the water feature so they would still go there. But so far no birds have come into the garden during the cold weather to clean their feathers. But I am sure they will if we have a lovely summer like last year. I think the bird bath is just about right for all garden birds to use with ease and it looks good too.
I got this after a lot of research. I’d give it 5 star but the colour makes it look like it needs a good clean which I find a little disappointing. The birds however like it and it is a good size.
It’s easy to clean and has an easy to clean design. It’s a bit light though and not very big, so only for small birds and mammals and needs some stones in it as it’s quite smooth for birds.
This is a sweet bird bath – I would have quite liked something a bit bigger, this is 30cms across, but it’s recycled stuff which is good! If there was one at about 45cms I would probably buy that too!
