Wanted a simple temperature gauge to attach to our dog box in the boot of the car so that we would be aware of the temp there even if we had air con on in the front of the car that might not reach the dog.
Straight away we had a heat wave and it very quickly showed us times when it was too hot for the dog to be in the car, even if we would be comfortable driving.
Temperatures are reliable and history of temps is useful too.
Small and compact – matchbox sized.
Would be handy if the loop was slightly bigger or able to be tied by itself but that’s a minor point.
Have recommended to a few people.
Easy to set up the app on both Apple and Android phones.

I’ll start with my pre-purchase prejudice – I had very low expectations here. At this price, how could they work? I’m still not sure how they can work but they do work and they work brilliantly. They connected initially to the app quickly and easily and I download the sensor’s data over Bluetooth from about 10m away. The only negative is the display on the app – I’ve just opened it and it is showing data from 2 weeks ago and showing 01:21 and 04:39 rather than 01:30 and 04:30.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most excelle

Nothing to dislike about the device. It is small with a nice attachment loop for easy placement. And it worked straight out of the box. No complications.

Once I downloaded the Android App, from Google, I calibrated this device with another of my thermometers/hygrometers that I know to be accurate and there was a little +/- needed on both the temperature (-0.2’C) and humidity (+0.5%). I have had this device for a week now and it has settled in, happily.

The App is Bluetooth connected to the device and gives me all the information that I require. The temperature, the relative humidity, Vapour Density Pressure, a Mold Risk Warning, which thankfully has been ‘Low’ since I started my grow and is a handy extra bit of information to have to hand. The latter which I was not expecting but am pleasantly surprised about.

Also, the data logger is very useful to see the history of the readings and can be exported to a pc.

I reached out to Sensor Blue via email about part of the App screen not being visible on my phone and Sensor Blue responded promptly with their representative Zhao Kevin being very helpful. As it turns out it was a setting on my phone that needed adjusting. I had to adjust the “Display Size” in my phone settings and had nothing to do with the App

This is my very first grow of a plant that requires very specific conditions and this plant does not grow naturally in Ireland, the UK, and Europe and will suffer if not attended to properly. This Thermometer/hygrometer is perfect so far and is a great introduction to me being aware of the current conditions within my growing environment so that I can make environmental adjustments to grow plants happy and healthy

I recommend this device to anyone looking to be aware of their atmospheric conditions for whatever reason but for my purposes, it ticks all the boxes.

The assistance from Sensor Blue via email was 5 Stars

For this price, the device and accompanying App are outstanding value for the money. And the technical backup is excellent.

First thing to note is that there is a limitation not noted – you need to have location enabled for this to work (a common requirement for android bluetooth connections). Trying to use the software on a device without GPS was impossible – I should have thought about that before buying it.
Once I loaded the software onto a device with location enabled it worked well.
I’ve tested the device in a number of locations with good success. It records every ten minutes. Once you connect with the app it downloads the recent data. It can be shared easily.
I’ve tested it against two other devices and the accuracy was really good. The range was not as good as advertised. I found the range was about 10m through one wall.
Very pleased with the functionality of a device that is this cheap. Got a second one now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersQuite impressed with these. I have them inside my rabbit enclosure to make sure they are not getting too hot or cold. My phone picks up the signal from the comfort of my sofa. I also have a digital thermometer in there, which always reads the same as these, so they are also accurate. I bought these last year and have only just needed to change the batteries. For the money I think they are really good

5.0 out of 5 stars Quit impressed

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis device, about the size of a 2 coin is fantastic. The instructions are very clear. I use it on the balcony and the App on my iPad connects easily to the device for reading temperature and humidity.

    There are graphs over time.

    Very satisfied.

The app is easy to use with great graphics. Price is a bargain.
    An amazing bit of kit.
We bought this for our son who lives in supported living with Creative Support Ltd as the “care” provider. Unfortunately, support staff don’t understand the concept of thermostats and the temperature in our sons flat was always too hot. In the first week of having the data logger we identified a waking night staff worker had had got the lounge temperature to over 28degC with less than 28% humidity. Hotter and drier than New Mexico in June.
The manager tried to argue it wasn’t possible – but the data logger proved itself over time it was accurate. Slow hand clap for Creative Support ltd.
I only wish I’d bought it a couple of months earlier!

I used this product in a Medactiv isothermal cool medicube bag that I carried with me, that keeps medication cool (2-8 deg C) for up to 36 hours, it worked great! informing me constantly on my iphone if the temp was dropping to low, as this was the case. I had to open bag a few times to warm it up but then it settled down, it kept me informed all the time, allowing me to keep the medication at the required temperature extending the life of the medication. (I suggest you test it before required date to be on the safe side) worked for me.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersbought these for winter camping, to check the temperature inside and outside the tent when using a small (wood burner) tent stove – i made a small cover for the external thermometer (to protect it from the rain) using a cheap food container – i also then used this as the travel case

as far as i can tell the readings are very accurate and it was so useful to see the temperature and humidity levels as a graph on my phone at any time – very impressed for the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars bought for camping - exactly what i was looking for!

Have one in my car to monitor it’s environment. Can’t fault the device for it’s function and value for money. It’s is not a rapid reader though; to be clear there seems to be quite a lag in it’s ability to log sudden changes in temperature or humidity.

It works well but based on the signal strength displayed in the app I am sceptical about the range claimed.

The app is not intuitive and appears not to have been user appraised. It would be great if there was a widget to display the temperature on the home screen rather than have to open the app each time.

I’m trying to improve my central heating setup and thought it would help to be able to monitor temperatures in every room, including seldom used rooms. As a bit of a gadget fan these seemed a great way to achieve my objective and to be able to quickly check any time of day whether heating on or off.

Setup was easy and I decided to calibrate them all to match temperature at the same spot, even though they only differed by +/- 0.2C at most. Since it is so easy to check temperatures remotely I’ve even stuck one in the loft to try to gauge the efficiency of my insulation up there.

I’m not too fussed about humidity, but the numbers are close enough not to cause alarm, and not far off my dehumidifier reading.

So far, on day one, I’m very happy with these little gizmos.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought ten. Accurate within +/- 0.2C against each other and independent verification.

These are Bluetooth. They connect easily and download their data quickly to a relatively good app. You can only get data in Bluetooth range so I’ve replaced with WiFi versions now. But they were good when I used them and have been kept in spare.

Only downside they take a very strange size button cell. Come supplied. But in 2 of mine the cells were dead already and the seller was disinterested in helping me so I had to pay over the odds to get this unusual cell twice.

    In short product good
    Seller unhelpful
    Quality controls could be improved.

This device is unbelievably good for the money, but could be better documented and accurately described:-
    1. The description states that you have to be in range once a day. You don’t but you do have to go into the app and select ithe device to export data, which means you have to be there or have remote control of a device running the app within bluetooth range.

    2. It states that it only holds 100 days data, but it isn’t a rolling 100 days, it deletes all previous data every 100 days, so make sure you export before that limi

The logger is brilliant and allows export to CSV / excel – however battery seems to die after about 30days of use – even with good duracel batteries.

It is easy to use the app and can instantaneously see the current temp / humidity. If you want to track a remperature and dont want to change the battery after 30days could be a problem (battery is easy to change – just pull the case off).

Works well, not super accurate but good enough for simple day-to-day check use.
However, it consumes batteries like you wouldn’t believe, lucky if you get 6 weeks, even if you’re not downloading data frequently, before you need to replace them.
A slightly bigger design that could accommodate 2xAAA rechargeable batts would be far better for the environment and your pocket!

I somehow new that I will finally find a thermo-hydro-meter that is accurate enough and with many features. I just couldn’t imagine that this would be so perfect. I bought a pack of four but I already had one from a previous purchase. You will love the simplicity and trouble-free installation and smartphone pairing. The app is a gem. All features you could ask are there and absolutely with no flaws. Up to 100 sensors can be paired to the app. You can fully customize each sensor, add alarms, download data to smartphone or just observe current temp and relative humidity, download data to cvs for Excell, etc., track your sensor and even more. This is just perfect. I have one sensor outdoors, one indoors and another one into the referigerator. The battery is huge, it will probably last for years and years. Huge value for money and no negative points.

These are tiny, about 3cm diameter and 1 cm deep and they record temperature and humidity which you can check on a smartphone or tablet by blue-tooth. The time vs temp and humidity graphs are very useful to check on the temperature in rooms away from central heating thermostats. The instructions are not brilliantly written and one or two of the buttons on the phone interface were tiny but it doesn’t take long to work it out. The devices can be named and re-named so if you move them from one room to another you can name them. by the room they’re in. I bought two – great value and think I’ll buy a couple more.

I purchased this at the beginning of December. Accurate & due to the size easily locatable. Not had it long though when it suddenly stopped working. I carefully opened it. There is a small battery. I bought a pack of 3 Volt lithium batteries 8 for 1.00. carefully opening the device & slid the old battery out before sliding a new battery in. Guess what? it has been working fine now for several weeks. If anyone has problems with this sensor, maybe changing the battery will work. The manufacturer should take this into consideration & make it easier to change the battery. Good affordable accurate sensor. Battery I used to replace is a 3 Volt Lithium like CR2025, CR2032 or CR2016. Just be careful. Hope this might help.

Well for what they are, the tiny little buggers, they are super at doing the job. Sometimes connection can take a little while to sync data but the results seem accurate as did live data. I’ve had one sitting in the lounge for some months now and whenever I need to I can connect to it via the app and see what’s been logged or the current temperature. For the money superb value.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBrilliant little device. Easy to setup with a slick app. Logs temperature and humidity every 10 minutes which you can access anytime, or see live readings. You can export to a .csv file which works nicely with Excel etc. Makes long term data tracking really simple.

The app requires location access which I don’t see as necessary at all. I’m also not sure why or in what way the device uses the data. It doesn’t seem to report it to the user. Turning off location access to the app stops it from working, despite the fact everything is connected. Not a big deal but I resent being forced to share location data with a thermometer. I expected a bluetooth connection only. Or at least a choice.

Exporting the .csv could also be easier. Saving to Google Drive doesn’t work and opening with Sheets isn’t an option. I used a file manager to save the file but it seems this could easily be improved.

Has to be said it’s a nice looking little thing though and it performs great.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have 4 – they agree with each other to within the stated accuracy of +/-0.5C. Bluetooth range is good (good few metres from fridge, which is a difficult environment being a big metal box). I was really impressed by the fact these are actually data loggers, taking readings internally every 10 minutes without needed a phone connection, until you are ready to download the data. This makes them excellent fridge thermometers, especially if you are unsure how that last power cut affected your food.

I take mine on holiday to test the fridge in self-catering accommodation – and was surprised to find only one shelf really got to safe fridge temperatures: so I stored the meat there and used the other shelf for vegetables. Although advertised as down to -20C, I’ve had one in the freezer reporting happily at -27C – your milage may vary and it may not be as accurate.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs long as you are within range this is a fantastic product. I use it inside my tropical house to monitor temperature and humidity levels of my exotic amphibians that I rear in the frogs room. As long as I am within the range as soon as I click the tab it updates the data and gives me an accurate log. Very happy with the product and I will be ordering several more units of them.
I was previously looking for wifi thermometer and hygrometer, I use Netatmo, but first of all they are far more expensive and bulkier, plus many of them in the market are unreliable, with connection problems etc. I am still looking for good reliable wifi units but until I find something good these ones will do. For the price they are excellent.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI really like this hygrometer. I am using it to measure temperature and humidity inside my terrarium, for which I previously had a complicated Raspberry Pi setup taking measurements and plotting to a graph.
This little thing does it all for you automatically, without having to set up coding or a difficult setup process!

The app allows you to see the historical data over a maximum of 100 days (rolling) and records can even be exported as csv if you need to use the data elsewhere for reports or the like.

Multiple sensors are allowed within the app, and each can be given a unique name, and locations can be set up to help specify results.

I am not sure how precisely accurate the unit is, as do not have another high quality thermometer or hygrometer to test against. Results seem on par with expected though so have no reason to doubt it.

Not sure how long battery life will be, but changing seems simple enough.
Will be interesting to see how long it lasts in my terrarium as with high humidity, sensors can have a short lifespan!

The only downside, is that you have to physically be in bluetooth range of the sensor to get the latest sync (and current) readings. If you had multiple sensors, you would have to visit them all and would be nice to have a wifi version that would allow for all to pool to the app/computer through a local router.
However, these are functions that dataloggers possess at much higher cost, so for the price of this wee little thing I am still very impressed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully simple

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI’ve been using this mainly to monitor temperatures in a car. I wanted something small and simple (and reasonably cheap) and this seemed to tick all those boxes. Simple and small and easy to use with an app it was refreshing to see I didn’t need to set up any sort of account to get it working.

Even though the interval time seems to be around 5 seconds this data is only recorded every 10 minutes, which for me works out fine so that data saved that you can export has 10 minute granularity for both temperature and humidity measurements. The Max and Min temperature data is saved in the app until you reset the global settings.

A couple of things to consider, as a Bluetooth device this has about 8m line of sight range and depending on how many times you connect the device to the app you might find that the claimed 100 days of battery life will suffer. It’s been working well for me for a few days now, I just need to keep an eye on the battery level.

  27. StephanRobey says:

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersYou could easily spend 50 on a sensor for a smartphone like this, but for nearly only a tenner, the first impressions are astonishingly great. Using it for a portable car cigarette lighter powered Halfords’ cool box and the Bluetooth easily penetrates the box, plus to an upstairs room when prepping the box for travel.
Some struggle with the App but I’m finding it a marvellous resource. C or F quick switch, easy pairing (major caveat below), graphical trends with scrolling or compacting to a single page.
It updates virtually instantly when you go to the App, grey, then green when there’s a ping of data.
Range is really good and from 1 CR2032 100 days will be fine.
Connecting and pairing to more than one smartphone is a brilliant feature, and the App can show you 100 or so devices’ data… Incredible.
The size is slightly unnerving, how is something this small so useful and advanced? I’m amazed. Most others need a hub to bring the days together, this just needs your phone or tablet, myself and partner have the App running so can monitor the cool box tomorrow… Will be invaluable.

    **Improvements**
Minor: Make the App on PlayStore (Sensor Blue) the same name as when it’s installed (ThermoPlus) so you can find it more easily on your device
Major: my device needed me to open it up to allow it to pair, the connections to the battery weren’t making a circuit, so needed to press either side, but letting go turned it off, so needed to put some cardboard inside to pad the space out to force a connection… This might affect the humidity readings, but not temperature which is the primary reason for buying it.
    Moderate: add a widget
Moderate: offer battery life indicator (edit, it has one plus signal strength, my bad)
Moderate: if reducing the ping frequency would increase battery life substantially, offer a way to reduce it
Minor: show us the wi-fi version
Moderate: offer a waterproof version, don’t mind if only temperature not humidity is available.

This will be so useful, will be only my imagination to see where to use them… Wireless view of a fridge ‘s temperature in the summer will be invaluable

*Edit* we bought a new Bosch fridge freezer that has a metallic finish and the signal still pushes right through and even upstairs to the bedroom so we could gauge when it was ready after the first switch on. Continues to amaze
