he Octopus kite is so easy to fly its amazing . My 4 year old loved it and keeps on wanting to go out and play with it. the triangle kite is also very easy to fly but you just have to have a bit more wind. really worth the value and if its the kids first kite experience you don’t worry to much about breaking them as the cost is so low.

The octopus kite just floated up and away on first attempt which was great. The other kite was crazy and keep diving back to earth every few minutes which caused a lot of laughter so all good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor anyone looking to buy a kite for a toddler (2-4 years) just buy the octopus kite or as we now call it ‘Sid the Squid’. the rainbow kite needs a bit of experience to keep it up, where as Sid won’t come down. We had them at the beach, winds roughly 15mph. I’m a paraglider and knew instantly that if our 3 year old were to take control of the rainbow kite there was high possibility that it would’ve dive bombed into someone, it flies well but you do have to control it, I would say not for under 4s. Sid on the other hand is frameless, just a wing with air pockets just like a paraglider, open it up, the wind fills the pockets and away it goes. It’s that good at staying up you have to reel it in to get it down. Comes in a very small bag no frames to mess about with, just roll it up when finished and pop it back in the bag, Perfect! Hope this helps

After struggling for hours to get previous kites up in the air, these were SUPER EASY to launch. We took them to the beach and within 2 minutes they were high up in the sky. Look great too. You won’t be disappointed- kids and adults loved them. Great value too as you get both

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat value but i liked the octopus better as it had no bars and flew straight away, great value and i can use often, good quality and they flew for hours. The other one needed a little bit of duct tape to secure in place , as the bar comes thru the top, after hit the ground a few time, but once taped it flew great too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSuch a great kite set
We have had these for over 3 years now and they are so good and still going strong
Great value for money at just under 16 for 2
    Made well
Very easy to get up in the sky and hassle free once you have launched them as they stay up so well so you wont have to keep running backwards and forwards relaunching them
    Great for beginners
    Highly recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 years old and still super kites that fly so high really easily

These two kites are brilliant for first kites.
The jelly fish is ready to go out of the pack. Just tie the cord on and off you go, perfect for small people, our 2 year old could fly it with a bit of help with someone holding the string, I also had a lot of fun with it. No poles needed so a bit of wind and it’s up.
The other kite is a normal one, with poles, I would assemble before you take it out in the wind though. This one takes a bit more practice but our 10 year old soon got the hand of it. Really happy with them both and would recommend them!

Brilliant easy to use kites , I’ve never been able to fly a kite but these were great for me and the children the squid was able to fly for ages even by itself tied up to a beach trolley , the other one flew good, but did hit the Sandy beach a few times while practicing which caused the pouch that holds the support stick to fray and split so that the stick could come out. All in all great fun for all

When I tried these, the ‘octopus’ frameless kite tended to lean sideways and eventually fall even though the wind was strong and the ‘rainbow arrow’ kite was still in the air. It got a lot better after adjusting the harness and ensuring that lines on the left and right were of exactly the same length (this was not the case initially).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe octopus kite is our favourite, basically ready to fly right out of the packet. Goes up and stays up brilliantly. love the long tail. Comes in a nice little pack to store in.
The triangular kite is more of a faff to assemble, still not quite sure we’ve done it correctly. It doesn’t fly so well, kept crashing to the ground with a thud so suspect we need to check assembly again. Shame this one doesn’t have a little bag to store in, we’ve just had to keep it in the original packing, with bits sticking out.
All round a good set for a reasonable price.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI was looking for an easy to fly kite to take on our staycation this year for my 6 yo to play with. My memories of kite flying involve a lot of running to get it up in the air then more running to fetch them 2 seconds later when they fell so I spent some time looking at the reviews to find one suitable for younger children. I came across this and due to the great reviews I decided to try them out.

They arrived quickly and look exactly like the pictures. The instructions were simple, I struggled a little with the plastic support sticks for the more traditional shaped kite, they seemed really tight to fit in, but I’m possibly just a wimp. We used them on a windy day at the coast and both of the kites went up in the air with no problem. They are both single handled so they were really simple and easy to use, the jellyfish one stayed quite still in the air and the triangular one flew a bit from side to side without being erratic. Overall just what I was hoping for. I would recommend, particularly if you’re looking for kites that will fly long enough to keep younger children interested.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and fly well

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe octopus (squid?) kite was an absolute winner. No sticks or sharp bits, folds up into its own small bag so is easy to carry stuffed into a back pack, having no weight at all. Once shaken out and filled with air it simply wants to fly! So easy to get going so the children loved it. Easy to keep flying, even for 5 year old. Eventually I had to wind the string back in to gradually bring it back down to earth. There was no way it was coming down otherwise Passers-by actually stopped to take photos of it flying as it looked so striking against the blue sky. Grandkids wanted to keep it so have now ordered another for me

The more regular shaped kite was less successful. We had about a 20mph wind i guess on a beach and it seemed it ‘wanted’ to fly, being easy to launch. The challenge was keeping it up. It kept heading down like an arrow at great speed, meaning it was somewhat hazardous for those sitting nearby! Having crashed a few times the sticks became loose in their fabric sockets. I have mended and will try again in an empty space. However it is a beautiful kite and the size is wonderful, so worth persevering I feel.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this kite to fly near the seaside where I was sure it to be windy. The kite is really easy to put together and I flew this kite every single day of my holiday. It is very attractive and was a joy to myself and passers by the height it gained and the way the tail wriggled around as if flew. After the flight it was very easy to take a few of the bars out and I easily fitted the whole kite plus crossbars into an empty Co Op carrier bag. I loved the fact it was so easy to transport as sometimes you dont want to carry loads of stuff around and the next day it took seconds to re construct. I would say it would be great for anyone who enjoys kites. From beginer to expert (like myself) this kite was worth every single penny that I paid to purchase it. Definately would recommend !!!

Both flew fantastically. Looked wonderful flying. Good size. Good value. Great fun for 3 yr old and us adults. Found the octopus likes winder conditions ( flew better at beach). Liked each kite came in own pouch.

Negatives- the tails have frayed and the stitching on the pocket where you place the kite stick has come away after about 5 uses, leaving one kite unusable. I will be sending back and reordering.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersPerhaps like me, you’ve invested on bigger kites, thinking that bigger is better, and found that it’s all about technique, well kite flying is another example of where you should start small and work your way up.

This kite duo is just what you need to make yourself the envy of the park, simple to fly, they look good, keep the kids amused and help ensure a good day out.

We found that it’s worth bringing along a pair of gloves as letting out the string can be a bit painful.

The Octopus pretty much flies itself and is great for kids.
The more traditional kite is the next stage up, taking a bit of time to learn the technique, but once up keeps going for hours.

Worth the money, so much so, I bought a couple of extra sets for other people.
