Got this as a present for my daughter and I was surprised at just how good it especially for the price its left me considering buying another one for myself

Lovely looking, a good weight for her frame. Excellent guitar with tuning guide and plucker. As a novice she was able to tune the guitar according to the guide and is being signed up for lessons to start in new year. A great beginners guitar and would highly recommend.

I’m a beginner, and bought a tiny 6 string from charity, I use it more than this. Personal preference but this comes with metal strings, I find ,I like the vinyl strings. It’s ok as comes with tuner, and other accessories
. More for and adult as opening this at Christmas would make me cry! And I’m 42 my 15 kids is better. It is what it is I’m happy when ya mess about with it.

This is a great guitar. You can tell it is a budget one, but that was known going into it. It holds its tuning quite well, has great sound and I’d recommend it to someone looking to learn, but not sure they can justify the expense of a more professional guitar.

Product is so worth the money. Yep I’m a total beginner and yep I’m rubbish. Not the guitars fault, no complaints at all about the quality, size and extras you get – it’s just me – I am totally useless.

As one of the cheapest *new* acoustic guitars on the market, you can only expect so much. My guitar came with a few chips in the paint work which is not a huge deal but something to bear in mind. As mentioned in other reviews the action is on the high end of high which can make it difficult to play as a beginner. To add to this, I found that the strings the guitar came with were not even worth trying to use. On more than one occasion I had a string snap whilst tuning. Since I have changed out all strings for better quality and have not had a problem since. The tuners are good and stable so you won’t have to hassle tuning everything you play. The bridge pins can be difficult but nothing a tool can’t fix. Overall, the guitar body itself is worth the price despite the action. However it is worth bearing in mind that you will most likely want to upgrade this guitar with higher quality strings and a few minor adjustments. If you can find a second hand guitar for a similar price from a higher end manufacturer I would recommend that over this but you can hardly knock it for the price.

I found tuning the guitar at first to be very easy, especially with the tuning aid that is supplied with the guitar, it is good that the spare strings are named i.e. 1 = E, 2 = B, 3 = G, 4 = D, 5 = A, 6 = E.

I would recommend this guitar for somebody who is just starting to learn to play, like I am doing.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am returning to the guitar after many years and wanted a cheap thing to relearn with, I am a lefty so will be converting this for my needs I have however (before new bridge and nut arrive) looked at, tuned and played it. Tuning is interesting there is nothing, nothing, nothing then suddenly wildly shifted too much, patience is key here. Detunes really quickly but it’s new and the strings aren’t great. So once Converted and strings replaced with earthwood that might help. As for the action, oh wow could get another set of strings under there but again changing bridge so should be able to lower. It isn’t a bad guitar finish is, characterful which actually I like. For the money it’s OK. Once I’m playing properly again I will spend more money and get a vastly better one.
You do get what you pay for.
Worth the money? Yeah I think so.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe guitar is extremely light, nice polished black. You have to tune it when it arrives. I particularly appreciated the free 6-month lessons on gigajam. I am learning a lot from those.

Perfect size, not too big and not too small. Also didn’t come in broken. Great for the price. It does have a few marks and stuff where the glues gone but that is expected at this price point. Works great. Comes with basically all you need to get started. The only thing it doesn’t have is a Capo.

Good for what you pay for you can see the value in the guitar from where it’s been glued little messy but apart from that for what I spent on this guitar it is a perfect guitar for a beginner like myself. Only issue I have is the packaging on arrival was rubbish nothing in the cardboard box to protect the guitar itself so if it had a bouncing around in the delivery van nothing to protect it but a box. When opening box guitar was in good condition thankfully. Definitely get what you pay for it’s definitely for beginners the built in tuner was so easy to use the guitar itself sounds great lovely sound the strings are a little high so harder to press down, but obviously in time you will get used to it as fingers will harden in the meantime get some tape if it will be an issue have not plugged into an amp as of yet but the sound quality without one is lovely so over all I am extremely happy it’s a great price for a beginners guitar I like it came with a bag to store it away and a bonus the spare strings as they can be expensive to buy on there own so yes great item definitely recommend

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst of it looks good, which is probably half the battle if bought for younger beginners. It sounds fine to an untrained ear and it seems to hold tune well.

My only criticism is the action is incredibly high. This is common with cheaper guitars but I have seen other entry level guitars that aren’t made this way. It means it doesn’t take long before you feel you’re held back slightly by the guitar. Of course a professional could no doubt play well on it but the high action makes it extremely difficult to change quickly between chords. I assumed I just wasn’t particularly good yet but after having a go on a friends guitar I could play much easier and it has made playing mine a little frustrating.

One bridge pin also likes to work it’s way out, not a major issue as just needs pushing back in and the string in question’s tune checking.

In summary I wouldn’t NOT recommend, but if you think you will stick at guitar, maybe consider investing is a slightly more expensive one that will last you longer.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersNot a bad guitar, can’t expect a whole lot more for the price. Major issue with it is the amount of action on the strings… probably not ideal for a beginner, better off start out with a nylon stringed guitar first… however, if you’re going for steel, the quality of the guitar is fairly good. Solid components, well finished. I find the tuning isn’t infinitely adjustable on some of the strings (as you’d expect), but rather you can be tuning up for half a turn or more without a change in pitch, then the next millimeter of a turn and the pitch jumps up suddenly… possibly the strings catching on the bridge or somewhere and popping up then when the tension goes over a certain amount. Not a deal breaker, you can get it to tune perfectly with a little patience… that said, I find it de-tunes quicker than I’d like, maybe just the guitar settling down under the tension of the strings after manufacture, will probably become better over time. Sound quality is ok, nothing outstanding. All things considered, I would recommend this if you’re looking for a budget guitar.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersArrived in tact but didn’t have a tonne of protection save for the cardboard box it came in (albeit the cardboard is quite thick). Inside the box was a set of spare strings, 2 plectrums, strap and an allen key.

The guitar itself is surprisingly good quality for the budget price, however there are some issues.

The tuning pegs are low quality and slip on the gear occasionally when tuning, small issue but I expect that will get worse with time. The biggest issue is probably the “action” (how high the strings are from the frets) – you need to press down very hard in order to get the note to ring, this will put a lot of beginners off as it’ll hurt after 5 mins or so.

That aside, it sounds pretty good and is surprisingly loud.
I bought this as I wanted something to play without messing around with an amp and didn’t want to spend much, it fulfills that need but I definitely wouldn’t reccomend to a beginner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for younger folk or beginners

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s a nice guitar for beginners: it comes with a stand, a spare set of strings, capo, strap, tuner and a bag! The blue colour is just like on the picture, I LOVE it. I only give it 4 stars because of the free guitar lessons: I couldn’t wait to start watching the videos, so there I was , sitting in front of my laptop, guitar on my lap, impatiently waiting to have a go when the teacher appeared holding an electric guitar…. although they told me that some lessons are transferable to acoustic guitar, it doesn’t quite sound the same when you try to replicate the cords. They came back to me quickly though.

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersAs a 60 + year-old who just wanted to try to learn a new hobby and wasn’t sure how he would get on I am delighted with this set considering the price even before deducting the extras I wasn’t expecting much but this is well put together looks good and stays in tune really well I’m no expert but it may not be the best quality materials but you wouldn’t know to look at it and the tone sounds lovely , I honestly don’t think you could do better for the money if you’re looking to find out if you’ll like playing , yes a guitar shop would guide you better for the right guitar for you but you would pay at least three times the price, I will update later once I’ve learned more about playing and adjusting string height etc but long story short for under sixty pounds unless it falls apart you can’t go wrong.
UPDATE- having taken the plunge and watched a few YouTube videos on lowering the action everything else looked fine so took 3mm off the bridge above and it’s now much easier to play not as difficult as I thought although as a new bridge is only a few quid on here with some other spares highly recommend you get a spare incase you muck it up , still think a great beginners guitar only had it a few days and already can play three cords

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for anyone to see if they're gonna like guita

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersOk. It is some time since I tried to play a guitar. But as someone who enjoys pop music, I thought that if they can play it then why can’t I. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money incase I lost interest. So I chose this 3rd Avenue acoustic guitar. I must admit that some of the bad reviews did bother me a little, but it looked good and came with a bag, plectrums and a spare set of strings. As usual with Amazon, delivery was perfect. It was a Christmas present so I only tried it out yesterday. I will openly admit that I am not music minded. But I have to say that after tuning it, the basic sound is surprisingly good. As expected I have a very steep learning curve. But I just wanted to state that not only does it look fantastic and sounds great, it is nothing like as bad as some reviews say. Come on. For less than 40 it is amazing value for money. Would I recommend it to beginners. Definitely.

    EDIT.
Three months after I had this guitar and it plays much better than when new.
I have fitted Custom Soft strings and most importantly lowered the string hight.
That is quite easy to do. Just loosen all the strings and remove a couple of string pegs and the Saddle can be pulled out of its slot.
When you have determined how much to remove, just mark a line at the bottom of the Saddle and then file it off.
A combination of the two has much improved the way it plays.
I really don’t know why it is sold with the string hight as high as it was.
Anyway. This 3rd Avenue guitar is excellent value for money and sounds great.

Golden Review Award: 167 From Our UsersBought as a Christmas gift for a complete beginner. It has everything you’ll need to get started and everything was well packaged, quickly delivered even though it was going to Slovenia, and arrived safely. Shame there was no option to write a gift message.

Complaints from others about the thinness of the guitar’s bag are to be ignored and it’s a shame they lowered the review because of it. If you are concerned about the transit of your guitar, the last thing you’d be using is a fabric bag anyway. And given the price of the guitar itself, it’s not a big deal. They’re more a dust cover than anything anyway. With the price of this guitar package, those comments really are unrealistic and delusional. I wouldn’t stick my Takamine in one, but for this guitar, I’d be absolutely fine with the bag!

And to be pedantic about how the guitar is made because it’s not to high standards that some people have expected are far fetched, as is stating their musical expertise as an excuse for talking about a beginner guitar from a low end manufacturer and expecting better. Maybe they should check the plenthora of video/text reviews online before buying instruments or recommending them in future.

It’s an extremely cheap guitar with a bag, stand, strap, capo, tuner, head tightener and plectrums. It’s a steal! In comparison, I have an 850 guitar, have a Gator hard case for it at 70, capo for 20, strap for 10-15 and a stand for 10. That’s 960 over this set for 57! You definitely don’t want to spend any more for a complete beginner who wants to teach themselves guitar and have everything they’ll need, except extra strings.

FYI strings are a personal preference so don’t worry they’re not in the set. Plus they’re super cheap and if you need to know information about anything to do with guitars, head to a music shop where you’ll get all the information you need. Staff are always really helpful and a great place to go when your beginner player is more advanced and can test a range of good quality guitars. Maybe that music teacher should have advised their student and family about that instead of saying to go to Amazon for one…
