Has made difference in the temp, it’s not a hot tub by any means But has taken the chill out of the water!

Great fit for a 10ft pool, it has a bit extra around the edges that go right under the edge.

    Worth the money

I misread the ad thought it was a all over cover but this lays on top of water so bought a all over cover as well to keep off flys and leafs and used this underneath top cover it keeps the heat in seem ok

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI wasn’t sure this would do much good but was surprised as you really can feel the difference in pool temperature when it’s been used on a sunny day. Also keeps loads of dirt and debris out the pool. Worth the money. The only observation is no guidance re what side goes on the water i looked out up and its the bubble side that goes on the water surface. As the air heats up in the bubbles and the heat then transfers to the wate

Let’s be frank, this is blue plastic bubble wrap cut to a large circular shape. When it’s sunny it really does it’s job. When it’s not sunny it acts as my pool cover.
It’s cheaper than heating a pool but only works when it’s hot and sunny!

It’s very much like a sheet of Bubble-Wrap…. Might do the job, and at least it is fitted to the right size. On the plus side… it was delivered quickly and without fuss.

We bought this to put in the spa overnight to enable us to turn down the heater over night and it works. We are turning the heat down to 28 degrees at night and then turning up for an hour jut before use and it is doing the trick and saving money on heating over all.

A little fiddly to put on, but keeps pool leaf free etc. Takes the chill off the water if it’s in the sun. Although it is just bubble wrap, which I could have bought much cheaper elsewhere

Simple cover that seems to work warming pool. Just a sheet of bubble wrap but who’s go a bubble wrap 6ft wide?

Note on size this is for an easy up pool as stated so isn’t 8ft but 6ft 4in which is the upper ring size of an easy up pool that is wider at the bottom. Handy bag for storage.

The cover is literally a circle shaped piece of blue bubble wrap, still has the black circle shaped marked on it for cutting. I’m glad I didn’t pay anymore than 7 for it! For that price I wasn’t expecting a full cover but I was expecting a bit more than this. How long it will last I don’t know.

Found this really helped warm the water in my 10ft pool round pool.but wouldnt reccomend it for sheltering the pool from rain as it sits on top of the water doesnt fit around the edge but a good buy to heat your water!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this for our Bestway Fast Set pool. I measured across the top of our pool and it comes to approximately 8 foot, and so this being listed as “Bestway Fast Set Solar Swimming Pool Cover – 8 Feet” you would think it was 8 foot in diameter? No… it’s 6 foot 10 inches. It sort of sat floating in our pool and didn’t reach the sides.

Others are a bit surprised to see it’s a piece of blue bubble wrap, but that’s exactly what pool covers are, albeit they’re normally made from a heavy duty plastic. I’m sure this does the job just as well – I understand the bubbles of air heat up in the sun and transfer the heat to the water.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersBrought this for our 10ft Index Pool.
Although its a different brand its a fairly good fit. Just slightly too small. Saying that our pool wasn’t level, it had a 2cm drop over the 10ft making it an oval shape.
It’s a difficult product to test with the UK weather changing all the time but I’m 90% sure it was working on the sunny days, helping to heat the pool up and keep the heat in over night! I was also using a pool cover at night and taking it off during the day.
It’s a bit awkward to get on and off by yourself and even worse if your adding a pool cover! but it is possible!!

So would I recommend this? Yes I would, it might only make the pool a degree to 2 hotter but for 5-10 pounds it’s worth a try and It also helps keep leaves and bugs out.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWe bought this solar pool cover for out 8ft Best-way pool.

To be brutally honest it’s just two pieces of blue bubble wrap stitched together and cut into a circle, which then lays on the surface of the water..

However, it does the job of warming the water by attracting the heat of the sun and trapping it inside, and it keeps bugs and other bits of airborne garden debris out of the pool.

The sheet is easy to apply to the water , but is best done by two people slowly unrolling it across the water’s surface to avoid trapping large pockets of air which might catch the wind. However if you do get air pockets under the cover they can be smoothed out with a bamboo cane or similar.

You’ll need to hang it somewhere to dry when you’re finaly done with it for the summer, then it can be folded and packed away into the neat storage bag it comes with.

It does the job you need it for at a reasonable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what you need it too, but no frills

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFits our 10ft bestway pool well. Heats up the top couple of inches maybe a little when the weather is really hot. Didn’t use it very often to be fair as weather was warmer this summer, got in the pool to cool down. My 11 and 8 yr old thought it made a huge difference! Basically blue bubble wrap, that’s be taped together and cut into a circle. Comes in a simple clear zip up bag which can be used to store the item easily out of season. We still use a proper cover when not in use to prevent leaves, cats and other insects invading the pool. Not sure which way up it was meant to be placed, tried both ways not a lot of difference.

I decided to try this out and see if it would help increase temperatures any. On a fairly sunny day it increased the temp by 1.5 degrees C. I didn’t expect a massive rise in temp so I guess it’s not too bad really.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersSome people have commented that “it’s just a big circle of blue bubble wrap”. Well, yes it is. Because that works pretty well for this. I’m sure if you happen to have a lot of suitable bubble wrap you can make your own. If you don’t however, then this is a reasonable way to get one… Floats on the water and comes to within a centimetre or two of the edges. Do not expect it to suddenly make your pool all nice and warm on a chilly day. It may add a degree or two to a pool on a bright sunny day. But, if you are expecting to have a nice warm outside pool in the UK, you would be better off buying a hot tub than a large, uninsulated bag of water in your garden. On the really hot days during the summer, I had left this cover on and by the early evening, getting into the pool was like stepping into a warm bath. Lovely. For the rest of the time, it was like stepping into a large, uninsulated bag of cold water. That’s not the fault of the cover though…should live in a warmer country methinks. Also keeps leaves out. And is blue. And has bubbles you can pop if all else fails.

Golden Review Award: 96 From Our UsersThis does exactly as it says on the tin. It absorbs the suns rays and transfers this energy into the water. Our water has marginally increased in temperature on both the 2 days we have been using this item to the point where the water now feels lukecold instead of iceberg – give it a few more days and it may even transform to lukewarm. We use a filter pump on our pool which is constantly cycling the water around. I feel that using a solar cover without circulated water will probably give a dramatically reduced effect.

The cover is cut into a circle and is a snug fit to our circular pool. At night time we also cover the pool with the main cover to stop any detritus blowing in and to retain as much heat as possible.

Please be aware that this is made of bubble wrap type material. It is designed to sit on top of the water so try and squeegee as many air pockets out as possible to enhance the contact between the cover and the water. As this does not cover the top ring of the pool anything that lands or blows onto the cover will not be able to blow off again. As such I would recommend using a proper cover at night.

As you are heating. and trying to maintain the heat in nearly 4000 litres of water I would recommend using the solar cover on any mild or hot days (ie remove a proper cover if you have one during day time) and place the solar cover back on the pool if the kids get out for any length of time.

As for any other tips, if you intend having the pool up for any length of time then:- get a filter pump and clean it out daily. A chlorine floater (and tablets), shock treatment, a water tester kit, some way of balancing ph and a pool skimmer (like a flat net) – or else your water will get cloudy and nasty quite quickly. That or change the water frequently – my pool only took 6 hours to fill and probably 3 to empty so good luck with that 😉
Though this may seem quite an expense, the floater and tablets are quite cheap and 1 tablet should last about 2-3 days at least. The shock treatment is a once a week thing and a 5 litre container will last about 2 years ^^ The water tester kit and ph balancers come in a kit and will last a long time.

    Have fun!
