The shredder has a good capacity bin, and is quiet to use. ‘However’ to say it’s a 10 sheet shredder is a little exaggerated, at a push 4 sheets. I have used it a number of times and find it overheats at about 80 sheets but doesn’t take long to cool down. I would advise getting the lubrication sheets.

This is a good small shredder for home use. The handle is a good feature to lift off the heavy top and the machine is compact.
I think 10 sheets capacity a bit ambitious as it goes quite slowly with 5 or 6, but fine just for bills, bsnk statements etc

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWorked well initially but after 3 short shredder sessions it just wouldn’t turn on. After a few attempts to make it power up I checked the plug fuse and found that the fuse wasn’t positioned correctly in the terminals so a simple repositioning corrected the issue. What I find perplexing is that it worked initially when clearly it should not have done. Obviously a minor manufacturing issue so for any new purchasers just be aware of this possible problem. The top handle is useful for removing the working part but it would be helpful if there was hand holds on the body when moving its position or for emptying. My review seems to be negative but far from it as I am very pleased with my purchase, the shredder now works perfectly and is very efficient if a little noisy. I am no expert but for what it is worth I recommend this shredder particularly for home and small business use.

This shredder is excellent value for money and extremely easy to use. I use it daily and have found the waste basket holds so much & with the viewing window, easily identify when it is nearly full. Again, very easy to empty & the performance so far has been impressive. Very happy with this make & model of shredder and it was delivered within 24 hours (even for non prime customers)!

Had this a few months now without any issues whatsoever. I only feed in a couple of sheets at a time and have only put paper through it has coped with these well. The head shredding unit is quite heavy and sits on the bin without any wobbling about!

Shredder does not seem as responsive to smaller items as my previous shredder, such as when shredding receipts. Needs to be put in with a large piece of paper. No big problem though.

I bought this to replace and older shredder. Works really well and because of the cross cutting it doesn’t need emptying too often and security wise is better than my old single cut one . Nice and sturdy no, problems shredding multiple pages

Bigger than I should have bought and very noisy. I like the handle on the top for when you empty the bin and it is a sturdy machine. I’m hoping it lasts a lot longer than my previous two shredders of different makes.

I have had so many shredders in the past that give up after a few months even though I only use them occasionally. This one has been brilliant and us still going strong

I liked how this product deals with a larger number of sheets of paper. It is quick and staples are no problem when you use common sense. It also has a good capacity for the shredded paper. The only downside is that it is slightly on the loud side.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s supposed to meet the P-4 standard (cut up an A4 sheet into 400 pieces), but in my photo I’m holding a strip that is 170mm long and there are a number of them at first glance, over 40mm in length. Specs call for a shred size of 5 x 40mm.

The noise levels and speed were acceptable to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Could be a little bette

Having used this make of shredder in the past I was extremely disappointed at the amount of noise generated by this particular machine. Whilst the machine is extremely good and does what it says on the box I would definitely think again about using this brand in the future. The plus is that the shredding head has a handle for ease of lifting

It does exactly what it says. This is a replacement for another one same make but smaller. This seems as if it will last a lot longer. One criticism; comes with a carry handle but as it doesn’t attach to the bin, waste of time having a handle as it drops bits of shredded paper if carry without the bin.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy guilty pleasure is that I like to shred paper. That pleasure had become a chore when my trusty 5 sheet Rexel shredder became a 3 sheet shredder, then a 1 sheet reluctant shredder owing to overuse over a 20+ year period. I accumulated a pile of personal documents that needed shredding following a home office reorganisation, and the thought of spending hours on end babysitting my trusty (but reluctant) 1 page Rexel shredder filled me with dread. Time for an upgrade.

What an upgrade it has been. The Bonsai 10 page shredder tore through the heaving pile of paper as if it was on a mission. Up to 10 sheets a time without complaint or jam, and the stack of paperwork was done in barely 10 minutes. The collection bin was full by now.

I’m delighted by my investment in this shredder, only wish I upgraded sooner. As others have observed, the collection bin is a little flimsy, but once the shredder unit itself is placed on top, it’s a robust paper devouring machine.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReally impressed with this. You can hear that it is having to try hard when shredding it’s rated maximum number of pages but that’s no different to the industrial grade one I use at work sometimes.

Shreds the paper into small pieces and feels very sturdy, apart from the plastic waste bin which is ever so slightly flimsy by comparison with the main unit – objectively it’s absolutely fine.

Used this to shred several thousand pages of confidential reports and it never missed a beat, producing two large bin bags full of shredded paper.

Early days yet in terms of reliability but so far I’m very impressed and feel that it is well worth spending the extra couple of tenners over a cheap shredder.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersWhat denotes 10 pages? Definitely not A4 80GSM which is pretty box standard. One major issue is that the unit struggles with more than 6 sheets at a time and will soon stop and complain of motor getting too hot.
I’ve had a major clear out of many years worth of documentation. In fact 4 sacks of old stuff.
It has done the task, but tends to need time to cool down. Occasionally switching to reverse to aid clearing the cutters. It’s a bit noisy, but none moreso than other low priced units.
Value for money is good, but not excellent.
Ease of use is a three position switch, a slot to feed paper and a bin in in which the shredder sits. A window aids seeing the rising cut paper. I tend to compact by hand and continue, rather than emptying as the paper fills the bin.
I’m pleased but not impressed, having said that it is more capable than my previous cheap Tesco one that struggled with thicker single sheets. This will tolerate thin card.
In conclusion treat 10 sheets as an absolute, 3 – 5 being reasonable, occasionally reverse and put a couple of single sheets through to remove any bits stuck on the cutter.

Would I buy again? Difficult question, as the price was OK, and it has done a lot of work in the few days I’ve owned it.
