Great for hay-fever, colds, nasal drips or just to rinse your nose after being in a dusty environment. We used to use Sterimar as a family, but this is far better. Easy to control the bottle applicator too. Highly recommended.

You get 160x foil sachets, each containing 2.7g of salt, to use with the Neti Pot nasal rinse kit. The sachets are packed in sealed plastic bags inside the shipping box.

This supply should last you five months of daily rinses and ensure you keep to a minimum the opportunity for bugs to colonise your nasal passages and keep you from contracting colds or other RTIs.

Bought this as I took a sinus infection and was encouraged to rinse if it could. Had never done anything like this before. So easy to use the salt solution wasn’t nippy. Easy to wash and keep clean. Purchasing additional sachets was easy too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have a neti device (opposed to a pot which I didn’t get along with) for using which in truth I dread using as I don’t like the sensation of water up my nose, brings back memories of swimming as a child. That aside this is a very handy product for when I do use it. I was always fussing over the amount of salt to water ratio and this takes the fuss out of it. It does what it says and takes the thinking out of ensuring the correct amount and better comfort. Recommend for people like me.

Since using this saline rinse I’ve had significantly less sinus infections. Only important note is, take notice of the size of your neti pot. My old pot was only 6 oz not 10 oz, so concentration wasn’t right and burned when I rinsed. Just make sure you have the right mixture formula

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve periodically been nasal douching for some years, as traffic pollution, and years ago, passive smoking before it was banned in public places, really caused me problems. I started out using a Neti pot, then finding the excellent Neilmed sinus rinse bottle, better, in my opinion, than anything else old or new on the market. They also make the rinse powders. Probably a little easier for novice douchers then these, as they combine a small amount of bicarbonate of soda (about 25%) with their uniodised salt. Some find salt alone can sting the nostrils, though I don’t

In order to avoid the landfill (and the expense) you really can diy, but if course the sachets are handy when travelling. Have a look at how to make isotonic, or, if needing stronger solution, hypotonic salt rinses. You will find various medical (NHS) trust sites giving formulation advice on quantities. They actively recommend this specifically following any surgical treatment for sinusitis, nasal polyps etc, but I use it for what a friend calls ‘London nose’ – nasal irritation driven purely by traffic pollution.

My sinusitis absolutely vanished during early lock down when the volume of traffic fell, and the dirty air cleared away, but as traffic returned, so did London nose, so I’m douching again.I

If you DO decide to diy it is most important you don’t use common table salt. This is often iodised to help free running and avoid clogging in a table salt cellar. Likewise, if you do add a small amount of bicarbonate of soda, don’t use baking powder instead, which has added ingredients not suitable to be nasal douching with. Obviously the sachets, like these are absolutely most convenient. I would have 5 starred for a better packaging optio

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve used a neti-pot with regular salt dissolved in boiling water every day for around 4 years, since I was very ill with the flu and pneumonia and ended up with sinus problems and a bad ear infection. It says not use if you have ear problems but my ENT specialist said it was OK for me so it is worth checking with your doctor, although a lot don’t seem to know what a neti-pot even is! Specific neti-pot salt seems to be finer, dissolves more easily and doesn’t taste as salty down the back of my throat if I happen to swallow any. I still dissolve it in boiling water and allow it to cool and use it in the shower every morning as I find this less messy than doing it over the sink and my GP told me that the steam in the shower would also help my sinuses and ear to clear. Whenever I have a cold or feel one coming on I also do a second neti-pot treatment before going to bed and I find this helps me to breath more easily and therefore sleep better; I also think it cuts a day or two of the duration of a cold as well. I wouldn’t be without my neti-pot nowadays, this helps me enormously.
