Once I figured out setting the depth so that the cupped blade actually touch the floor the shroud worked perfectly, attached to a Fein heavy duty dust extractor there was next to no dust that escaped. Had to use one of the
plastic rings that came with it to make it fit my makita.
    Great buy and would recommend.

Reading the reviews I was expecting some adaptors and improvisation will be required, but in my case the product fits perfectly with my ryobi grinder and karcher wd2 vacuum. flattening surfaces dust free is such an improveme

Great stuff – seals well, shop vac fits well. Just make sure you fit it properly – too high on the grinder, and you’ll find it sucks up only some of the dust. Too low, and your grinder won’t be able to work the floor with it’s full area.

The dust shroud only just fitted to my bosch angle grinder with me filing off a piece of plastic , to enable the disk to reach the work surface.

Once fitted though it, works very good when attached to a shop vacuum cleaner.

What I found bad was the buffering part I had to snap it off because it was inconsistent grinding or maybe it was my floor but once I taken it off it work good I wish my hoover was ABIT better for dust other than the buffering what goes around the base I give it 4/5

This was great for ripping up old tile adhesive without creating too much dust. It worked very well with a Makita grinder. It also fits a DeWalt- that was a little more complicated because of the way the grinder is built but not impossible.

The included vacuum adaptor makes it very universal (worked fine with a Henry).

After you have played with all the fittings and managed to setup and connect your hoover hose it worked relatively well keeping the dust down as l did some without the skirt and it was very dusty, but still wear a mask. I was grinding down an existing smooth compound floor to paint and wanted to create a key for the paint. if l had to do the whole thing again l would probably use a larger wheel because it’s easy to keep level without leaving little marks and ledges on the floor. If l had a large area to cover l would have hired a stand up grinder like janitors use to polish floors with, but for an existing small angle grinder and a relatively cheap skirt it did the job nicely.

Needed a way of lowering a screed in high points. Had been using a SDS chisel then re-creating to bring it back to right level. This attachments allows it to be done in seconds with zero dust. Had a bit of bother getting it fitted to my milwaukee at start but that was my fault as I didn’t look in the box to see other adapters worth buying.
The difference with or without is mad. Makes it safer also if you care about those thing

Effective angle grinder attachment that helps keep the dust down at a great price. Easy to fit. Backed by very helpful customer care. Removed old tile adhesive from a concrete floor in double quick time with very little dust escape. A must for small grinding jobs.

This looks like a sturdy piece of kit, however, I sent it back. It says in the info that it fits most angle grinders. I have a Bosch and a Black and Decker 115mm angle grinders and it doesn’t fit either. I’m not sure if I missed something in the instructions but it wouldn’t fit either…

Bought this for a job profiling 3’x2′ paving slabs, fabricating an access ramp for my elderly parents’ garden, after I’d previously choked on the copious clouds of cement dust I was producing, coating everything in the garden, myself, and next door.
Not realising then just how unhealthy breathing this dust actually is.

A direct easy push fit for my trusty old entry level Draper angle grinder. Although several adapter rings are also provided to accept fitting to other manufacturers’ equipment.

Also included is an offset disc key, handy to reach into the recessed centre of the grinding disc, otherwise out of reach inside the shroud with my angle grinder’s original flat profile key.

The shroud’s brush skirt is sprung, keeping a good seal around the workpiece while grinding, efficiently containing the dust.

The grey front part of the shroud rotates 90 to the side, to allow working right up into the edge of an upright, eg on stairs.

The soft rubber tapered hose adaptor facilitates attaching a wide range of manufacturers vacuum hoses, to extract the problematic silicate dust that can injure the lungs, caused me difficult coughing fits.
An experience this device is thankfully designed to prevent.

All in all, a handy piece of kit, that I only now realise what I have been missing.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis shroud fitted easily to my Makita angle grinder. Used with a diamond grinding disc to take off laitance and give a good key for adhesive on a liquid screed floor. The dust was kept very low by this shroud. This is a messy job and I’d say 95% of dust removed. Little niggle that the Henry vacuum did not quite fit the attachment provided but some duct tape fixed that. Other than that it does the job it is supposed to do and cheaper than branded option. The front opens so you can get up to the edges too.

Have purchased this after I tried to take off the Ditra mat using a diamond grinding disc and having ruined my kitchen with all the dust. I have seen at least 90-95% reduction in dust the disc produced. I used with only a small house vacuum so had to change the vacuum bags very often but it was working really well.

Couple of things I have noticed but did not affect the overall performance:
    – The disc I was using was slightly bigger than the green area of this shroud on the front (where the gray part goes when it is closed), so in the first two min the disc grinned a bit of plastic, but after that it was working fine.
    – If you have to grind close to corners or under existing furnitures (I had to grind very close to existing kitchen units) you might not be able to go super close to the corner especially if the vacuum connection is also chunky. But overall managed to get pretty close without causing any damage!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersDuncurin was faced with grinding an old but newly-renovated concrete conservatory floor and overnighted by Amazon were the Makita angle grinder, diamond cup disc, both reviewed and I also chose this dust collector.
This wasn’t my first choice as I had chosen one made by Makita which although more expensive was, I thought, worth it as I knew it would definitely fit. The Makita shroud however wasn’t available for a few days and I was keen to get on with the horrendous job in hand that I didn’t relish. The specs on this dust shroud assured me that it would fit the Makita and this was perfectly true. It took me a couple of minutes and a secure fit was produced that didn’t foul the angle grinder or the diamond cup disc and yet at least did its best to form a bit of a seal with the floor and with extraction reduce some of the dust. The spacer that comes with it was also essential as the diamond cup failed to lock down properly in the angle grinder without it. The vacuum hose fitted without trouble though I must confess to having used some duct tape or duck tape or whatever it’s called to form a tight seal and to ensure that the hose did not come away — actually it did this once and the dust even with the shroud is ferocious but without it the dust takes on Biblical proportions. The hose coming away is actually quite useful as you then realise that this little shroud is actually doing a good job but please whatever you do — expect a lot of dust. The wet and dry 16 litre vacuum I have which is designed for dust needed me to use the optional dust bags which filled within minutes and needed changing. Not using the bags would have blocked the standard filter within minutes and destroyed the machine.
All in all then, this is an ideal and relatively inexpensive way of reducing the amount of dust that is cast out. It is cheaper than the Makita one, but fits perfectly and easily. It was also delivered more quickly which for me was the real clincher. Photo shows Makita grinder with shroud attached and the hose for the vacuum nearby.
