This heavy-duty padlock arrived in a plastic blister pack and feels very heavyweight. It uses a hardened steel shackle which is 8mm thick and the closed shackle design that I received will be difficult to cut due armoured design that prevents bolt croppers being easily used. The padlock also is both waterproof, rust proof and resistant to impact too with a nice matte black finish.

The padlock measures 55mm in width, 95mm in height and has a depth of 26mm. The opening can accommodate a reasonable sized bar as it measures 25mm and the padlock is 274g in weight. The initial password for the lock is 0000 and it is very easy to change the combination to your own desired passcode by using a coin to rotate the bottom 90 degrees clockwise, set the new passcode and rotate the bottom slot back 90 degrees anti-clockwise. The four-digit combination lock offers enough options for the pin to be secure and means that you don’t run the risk of losing a key.

We have been using this padlock as a replacement to our old padlock on our garden shed and for this purpose it is ideal. I wouldn’t necessarily use it on something very expensive / precious but I am confident that it would deter a thief. Priced at 13.99 (with an additional 10% off voucher valid until the 30th September 2023) at the time of reviewing, this seems like a reasonable price for the quality of the padlock and has survive a good amount of time outside so would happily recommend.

Good quality padlock that is weather resistant so perfect for outdoor use. Easy to set up new code and reset if desire to change, The quality is solid, and has a few anti-thief methods;no-twist, little space for bot cutters, not easy to force the reels to unlock. Setting the code is simple too, much easier than some others we’ve had, and I love the fact this lock feels nice and heavy – it feels like a quality item.

Compared with my now 20+ year old Squire combination padlock, which is beginning to be a bit temperamental, this looks almost as secure and at 244g actually weighs 30g more.
However, in use it lacks the quality feel of my old padlock with its nice, firm mechanism and sprung shackle release and seems like a cheap, flimsy padlock. It is of course half the price of my old one, so can’t really complain about that.
Overall, it looks like a substantial padlock, is fine for my back gate and good for the price but I’d not be comfortable using it to protect anything valuable.

Great heavy duty lock. Easy action, unlocks and opens easily. Very easy to program the code. Quite heavy, but that gives confidence it wont be easy to break. Used to lock away bike kit whilst visiting the Gym, fits every locker clasp I’ve tried it on. Very happy with the product.

Got this as the gym I joined , you need a padlock for the lockers , however the lock part is too thick for the outside locker connection, however it is a weighty padlock and the locking part feels strudy and from the instructions it’s easy to set up. Its a shame that it doesnt work for what i wanted it for . If I do find a use for it I shall update this review

Initially, I was sceptical about this because the listing stated you could change the password by using a screwdriver to turn the element in the base of the lock. To me, I thought that would mean anyone with a screwdriver could just get into the lock with any password they liked – hardly secure at all.

Obviously, I’m an idiot and was completely wrong about this. You need to have the dials in the correct positions to even be able to turn the reset element at all.

It’s a sturdy lock and seems to be very strong – perfect for locking our outdoor shed. The dials are a little stiff to start with but they do move more easily the more they are used.

A good combination lock and I expect my stuff to stay locked away securely because of it.

Unless someone sets fire to the shed. No combination lock in the world is going to sort that one out.

Just using this for my garden shed – to keep it closed more than for high security. I figure that if you want to break into my shed you’d pretty easily pull the closures off the door anyway, so the quality of the lock is less important to me.

The lock is decent, but doesn’t feel comparable to a top quality padlock. If you need something cheap and cheerful it will do fine.

My first impression of this padlock was of something made largely of plastic – in fact the body of the padlock is made of a zinc alloy, something which makes it a good choice for outside use.

The instructions provided in the pack (the cardboard insert unfolds – the instructions are on the inside) are clear and easy to follow. In order to turn the button on the bottom, you will need something like a large-ended screwdriver or a 5p piece (I used 5p).

Once the password is reset, the padlock is ready for use. The steel shackle slides into the retainer easily and is held securely. It unlocks easily too when the correct combination is entered. It is large enough and sturdy enough for outdoor use – in our case, to padlock our gate. The shackle is large enough for most outdoor hasps.

I am very happy with this padlock; it is good value for <15.

I use this to secure my bike in the shed in the garden. It has certainly withstood some interesting weather so far and still looks like new. It feels and looks nice and robust. The code is super easy to set and the numbers are nice and clear. I would definitely recommend it!

This is a good solid secure padlock which benefits from the fact that you don’t need keys to unlock it. The lock feels nice and chunky in the hand and has a fair bit of weight to it which made me a bit more at ease when it came to trusting it to keep my property safe. This particular one will join my other combination padlock in helping secure the contents of my shed.

Changing the combination to one of my own choosing took no more than 30 seconds and can be changed at any time. The lock is made from a high strength zinc alloy with a hardened 304 stainless steel shackle and is resistant to harsh conditions.

I’m more than happy with this combination lock although it does seem a little pricey for what it is.

For my bicycle shed I’ve moved on from using ‘keyed’ padlocks as they always seem to let me down – either losing the keys, the locks get rusty, or quite simply the key starts to wear/ fail.

This lock with its 4 digit code has been great so far. Even with my iffy eyesight, and returning from rides in near dark, I am easily able to quickly get the lock open.

The quality is solid, and has a few anti-thief methods (no-twist, little space for bot cutters, not easy to force the reels to unlock) and I’m very happy so far after about a month’s use.

It gets used at least 5-6 times per-week, and has survived heat/ cold/ rain/ wind – nothing is telling me it’s not going to last a long long time so far!

Setting the code is simple too, much easier than some others we’ve had, and I love the fact this lock feels nice and heavy – it feels like a quality item.

    Highly recommended.

I like combination padlocks for secondary protection within an already secure area, mainly because a 4 digit combination lock can be quite quickly cracked but they do deter the casual thief. Insurance companies don’t like them for primary deterance.

This lock is quite heavy and feels like it’ll take a lot to break it.
The tumblers move freely which is something not all combination padlocks do.
The shackle is quite thick which will likely resist bolt cutters and hacksaws but it isn’t inside a guard which makes it a bit more prone to attack.

It’s unlikely that this lock will be any more weatherproof than others on the market, the best way to keep them in good condition is regular oiling.

Verdict: Good lock at a reasonable price.

This is a good quality padlock. It’s default code is 0000 but this is easy to change to a more memorable (to you) number. It snaps shut with confidence and it’s easy to rotate the numbers to set the code. It is overpriced though when compared to other simple padlocks.

I’m very pleased with this.padlock. It’s chunky and sturdy, nicely made. Easy to set your own personalised number to open it. My only slightly negative thing I would say, is the metal loop is pretty thick and it wouldn’t fit through my dad’s gate where be wanted it, so I swapped it for a smaller one I had, so as long as where you are putting it has a good size hole it’s a really decent padlock. 5* from me.

    Positives:-

8mm thickened shackle made of stainless steel.
Body made of sturdy aluminium alloy.
4 digit combination wheels are sensibly positioned in a recess in the centre of the body where they are better protected against accidental damage.
Also, 4 digit combination is much more secure than a padlock with only 3 digits.
Padlock is weatherproof, and suitable for outdoor use.
Very easy to reset the combination, following the instructions on the cards included with the padlock.

    Negatives:-

None at the time of writing this review.

    Observations:-

Came very well protected, against damage during transit from the manufacturer to the end user, in a sturdy retail display pack – the type where the product is sandwiched between 2 very thick made-to-measure pieces of clear plastic, with sealed edges, which have to be cut to access the content(s).

    Conclusion:-

This is a very good quality 4 digit heavy duty combination padlock, which, at the time of writing this review was reduced to 14.99 (List price 15.99) on the Amazon UK website, and there was an additional “Apply 20% Voucher” offer, reducing it to 11.99, which, IMO, is very good value indeed for what I consider to be a 5 star product.

This is a chunky heavy padlock which at first sight seems pretty robust and strong. However, when handled, it’s very rattley. This doesn’t really inspire confidence, so whilst the code is easy to change, I wouldn’t use this padlock for anything like gates or doors – only for simple things like lockers. I’ve given it to my daughter to use at her school.

A slightly more expensive combination lock but looks to be robust and it is easy to reset the combination. The thing I liked most about this combination lock was that the numbers are easy to see and resetting the combination is easily achieved by orientation of the slot underneath.

For an unbranded padlock, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the overall quality. The padlock feels weighty and well-made, although I haven’t really tried to break it apart as it would be counterintuitive.
For 14.99, this is a decent all-weather padlock that will satisfy your basic needs.

Good quality padlock that is weather resistant so perfect for outdoor use. Easy to set up new code and reset if desire to change. My only negative is that at 15.99 its slightly pricey for one lock especially as the closed shackle is same price despite providing added security feature. But overall a good lock!

The built quality is good. The default code is 0000 but it as easy to configure following the instructions. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise the bottom modify password key, set new password and turn back to the original position. It is robust and seems durable.

Arrived well-packaged as in the attached photos.
The price is slightly expensive in my opinion.

Overall, I am happy to own it and will recommend.

It certainly looks the part. I haven’t tried prizing or cutting it open, because I want to use it & maintain its good looks & weather resistance. No clear weakness is obvious to me, though I am surprised that I can catch glimpses of shiny internal bits through the narrow gap which runs right around the sides, top & bottom of the lock, where the front & rear sections of the padlock are fitted together.

The combination is easily reset to your chosen code & the padlock is easily closed, secured & reopened. It looks well-finished & likely to stand the test of time. I am disappointed though that no instructions are provided with the padlock (relying instead on the recipient looking details up on the amazon website, which details are likely to cease to be available there if this particular padlock ceases to be sold. Neither are details provided as to how to contact Diyife in the event of difficulty or premature failure of the padlock. The supply packing does give details of the UK & EC Reps, but in my experience of contacting appointed reps, they can, or will not, provide any useful information about the product of the seller they represent.

Nevertheless, I have given this heavyweight contender padlock the benefits of any doubts I might have & backed it to be a winner, awarding 5 stars.

This is a reliable and secure option for outdoor use. With its waterproof design, it can withstand various weather conditions without compromising its functionality. The 4-digit code provides a customizable combination for added security, eliminating the need for keys. The padlock features a 55mm body and an 8mm thick shackle, ensuring high security and resistance against tampering and cutting attempts. Whether it’s for securing gates, sheds, fences, gym lockers, or garages, this padlock offers peace of mind and reliable protection for your belongings.

I got this for my new shed and it seems to be very strong and setting the passcode is simple, It has a very good weight to it, I wouldn’t say the digits are the smoothest moving ones I have had but they are not bad , I have not had it long so I will see how it fairs to the UK weather but as long as it doesn’t start going rusty anytime soon I am happy with it .

This combination lock, looks to be really well made. The combination dials, feel really firm under your fingers. The lock yourself is quite heavy, and is made a good quality steel. Unlike some other cheaper combination locks that I have looked at, this one could not be undone by using the pressure and rotating the number dials to force the lock undone. The combination itself is easy to change, but I would suggest that you use a number you are unlikely to forget. Because once you’ve set this combination The only way to remove the lock, would be to cut it off.

I don’t expect this to last long against a determined thief as it does feel a little cheap and light. It’s also quite easy to change the code when open which isn’t always great. It does however act as a good deterrent and the raised metal surrounds do limit the access to access the top bar although it is very light so may break.
Overall it acts as a good deterrent for use in the back garden where I don’t expect people to have ready access to it, however would think twice about leaving it on my bike in a city centre.

This is a combination-operated padlock with hardened steel on the lock shackle arm and an iron cast outer shell. It can be used for indoor and outdoor usage.

    Things I liked:
    * very heavy in weight
    * visual deterrent
    * thick rubber bumpers

Overall, I cannot vouch how easy for this padlock to be picked open. Also, it might says its outdoor use but the combination dials are not water resistance. It you’re looking for a lock which can act as a deterrent, then this can be it. Good enough as a garden shed lock and nothing more.

I needed a new lock for the shed and I was fed up with having to find the shed keys. Miraculously they always seem to go missing in our household. This lock solves the problem, easy to put in my combination and setup, and it works really well – as long as you remember the combination! It’s a pretty substantial lock, a bit larger than I thought it would be. I don’t keep anything substantial in the shed so this will do the job but for anyone after a high quality padlock you may need to spend a bit more. Still great for the price, offers good value for money.

All in all, this feels like a decent padlock.
