Handy kit to diagnose car issues at home
I recently upgraded to the DonosHome AT500-1 wired OBD2 scanner, and I must say, it’s more of an improvement over my previous one. The HD screen menu is more intuitive, and it comes with a bunch of new functions. Devices like these can be a lifesaver, saving both time and money by allowing you to diagnose car issues at home instead of shelling out at the garage. It’s super easy to use—just plug it in and you’re good to go. While I’m still getting the hang of all its features, I can already handle reading and clearing fault codes and warning lights without any trouble. Plus, I’ve tested the battery and charging system with the voltmeter feature, and everything seems to be in good shape. Bmw fault code finding
Plugs in and reads codes very quickly simply pmug into obd port turn on engine and it will find any fault codes as well as display other monitor levels and will check and display all internal expects of car. Cheap and handy to keep in glovebox.
compact but useful
This is a tw0 I one code reader and battery tester. It is small and compact so takes up little room and can also be carried in car if needed We have it in our garage at present as my sons often leave their crasher and it is handy to have.
Does the job well.
This is a great little device, firstly it’ll save you money after a couple of uses, just by not having to go to the garage for a scan. It’s very easy to operate and probably does more than I’ll ever use it for but, for a basic fault code reader/eraser which can also test your battery before and during cranking of your engine. This is a little on the pricey side compared to other similar devices but with how easy it is to use you can forgive the extra cost. It’s also great to have it in your tool box ready for when you need it.
Essential tool for modern day cars
This item was supplied to me free of charge through Amazon’s Vine programme, however this in no way influences my review, which is intended to be both impartial and informative for potential purchasers.
The days of home mechanics being able to lift the bonnet and work out what’s wrong with their car are long gone, but there are still things you can do to help diagnose problems and keep repair shop bills as low as possible. Most modern cars have a diagnostic port located in the driver’s footwell, and that’s where this handy little gadget comes in.
Simply plug the diagnostic tool in with the ignition switched to power the cars electrics and you will be able to run analysis on your car’s computer as well as pulling up any diagnostic fault codes that exist – this is exactly the same thing that your local garage or breakdown mechanic will do before commencing any work on the car, as the onboard computer will have stored any faults and will present them in a simple code.
Once you’ve retrieved the code, look it up in an online database and it will tell you what is wrong with your car. You might not be able to fix it yourself, but at least you can be more informed when talking to your local garage and you can avoid them charging for work that isn’t required. It’s also handy if you break down at the side of the road as you might be able to determine whether the roadside assistance is likely to get you going again or whether you’re looking at a recovery vehicle.
In addition to the diagnostic tool, which is readily available from many suppliers, this particular gadget also incorporates a battery tester, which will allow you to analyse the health of your car battery – again, with modern car electronics this is essential as your battery is placed under a lot of strain, and an ailing battery can actually throw up apparently expensive faults on your car’s computer which would actually be fixed just by replacing the battery.

Worked straight out the box. So simple to use, an idiot could use it (and I know a few idiot mechanics – lol). Not found any fault codes on my car yet, but I wasn’t expecting there to be any. I’ve bought this in case any appear in the future, as my old fault code reader packed up recently. Seems very robust. Small enough to keep in the glovebox, or by the spare tyre in the boot.Recommended
Great 2 in 1 giagnostic tool
A very useful 2 in 1 vehicle diagnostic tool. You get a OBD port scanner and a battery tester.
It’s fairly simple to use though when using the port scanner it’s worth using the Internet to figure out what the information can mean. Some errors are a lot less serious than the can first appear and some things can be an early warning of trouble ahead.
You can save a lot of money if you catch some problems early and the device can pay for itself.
The battery tester is very useful especially in the winter when the temperature drops.
If your battery is getting weak the cold weather will make this much worse.
It’s compact and easy to keep in the boot and the menus are easy to navigate.
Fabulous item and a great starting point for your car issues
This is a neat device that comes with the battery and the SCART type connectors, all you should need for home diagnostics. The battery cable plugs onto the diags cable when needed which makes it plenty long enough and the end connectors are wide and well sprung for a solid hold. I like the ergonomic portrait format with grippy bumpers and the buttons are nicely spaced and easy to read and use even with gloves on though a bit “clicky”. There are plenty of European languages supported in the settings also. Battery testing is very straight forward even for the non-technical as the leads are colour coded and will give you a result and recommendation (recharge or replace etc) in plain English.
The scanner is a bit more involved but not too daunting once you have connected it to your car – the connector is often found concealed under the steering wheel area. The colour screen is lovely to read and the cable plenty long enough. The onboard library of codes and diagnostic will help you pinpoint errors and clear fault codes easily. Even if you aren’t going to carry out the work yourself it will give you valuable insight into any problems, so you are forewarned and forearmed before you take to the garage. This is a great bit of kit that is satisfying to use could save you hundreds of pounds.

I had some issues with the car and I’ve been to mechanics and they were all telling me different things and I suppose to spend quite a lot of money to fix the car and I have decided that it might be a good option for me to take an obd scanner and to find out for real what problems by car has.
This product is easy to be used but if you’re not experienced with it like I was at the beginning I would strongly suggest to have a look at the user manual in order to understand all the functionalities, after carefully reading what features this product has it was very easy for me to use it and in less than 20 minutes I have seen exactly what issues my car had.
It is easy to operate and to understand its functions and even when I have used it they time when it was plenty of sun outside I could still read the data on the display because it is bright enough and the good part about it is that I can also check the status of my car`s battery.
The product works as it should and I’m very happy with its functionalities and especially because it helped me to identify the problems that my car had and like this it saved me a lot of money so all fine from my side.
Truth Seeke
So if you read the instructions and have a bit of nouse nabout you, this isn’t difficult to use.
Unfortunately, I know my way around the car in the same way that I know around the far reaches the Galaxy and so it was a bit of a challenge for me.
Fortunately I only wanted to test the battery on my car and eventually figured out how to do this. And it showed that indeed it was the battery that was the reason it wouldn’t start.
Therefore it saved me the experience of doubring a mechanic ( having in the past discovered I been lied to by one of those).
So I’m eternally grateful and quite happy to shell out 200 pounds for a new battery.
There are people who will find this much more useful and easy to use than I.
And to them, I say this is a fantastic device. It looks packed with features and with a bit of time and patience you will find your way around the system and discover all the gifts it offers up, not just the low hanging one I plucked down.
I so I can recommend it. I think it’s well made reasonably priced and good value.

Very Good
I have tested a number of these diagnostic tools. Most have been cheaply made and are limited in what they can do. This is a battery tester as well as a system diagnostic tool. The first thing that stands out is the size of the screen. It is much larger than any of the other tools I have tested. It is so easy to use. You can run it straight out of the box but must read the instructions to understand the codes. My car is relatively new, but it still picked up on a potential battery issue, which I knew about. The tool appears to work very well. It is easy to use. The screen is clear and it seems to be able to diagnose issues.
I am happy to recommend this item.
Certainly a useful addition to my toolbox
This product is going to be a favourite of mine. It provides me with an easy to use diagnostic tool – as anyone who owns a stop/start car will know – that can help ascertain whether the battery is on the way out, among a host of other, usual ODB2 features.
The item itself is decently made, with a rugged ABS plastic case that is easy to hold and relatively grippy. The push buttons feel good and give a nice positive ‘click’ when pressed. The whole device feels very tactile.
The screen is great. It is a good size and gives good definition. Colours are well represented and the whole experience of using this tool is that it is a well made and well thought out piece of equipment.
The length of the cable for the scanner is approximately 1050mm. The cable is quite chunky and can initially be quite stiff, but still perfectly usable. The plug which connects to the car fits very nicely indeed.
The additional battery connector is also well made. The terminal clamps are strong and are well insulated. Total length of this piece of equipment is 540mm or so from end of plug to end of clamps. The plug fits very snugly into the socket on the Scanner when required.
The supplied instructions are useful, but could be much better. Procedures are not explained in the best of English (as is common with products from China) and perhaps could be better set out in the small instruction booklet. However, the instructions are not bad and with a little perseverence operation of the device is perfectly feasible and soon becomes obvious.
In summary I feel this device is fine for the DIY mechanic. It offers the normal OBD2 settings/features for a DIY tool and provides the added possibility of diagnosing the state of the battery/charging, a very useful feature.
I like this tool a lot.
OBD Code reader and teste
This is a very nice OBD Code reader and includes a few more very useful tests on top of the normal code readers such as the battery analyser (uses separate probe to connect to battery, but this is included).
The display is clear and bright, and the unit works well although as I am not a car mechanic some of the functions and results go right over my head. But if you are a mechanic this offers more than enough to get quick diagnostics of car faults and codes etc.. The instructions are not very informative on the actual codes and ODB Scanner but I would then look online for codes specific to my car if I couldn’t work out from the display what the codes meant. A mechanic should know much more about this. The instruction offer two brief pages on how to use the tester, then the rest of the booklet is for other languages. My previous code reader came with a nice protective case, that would have been nice for this one but it can live in the box no problem.

Tenia otro desde hace tiempo con problemas de conexin.este a diferencia del anterior va muy bien, es sencillo de manejar con una simple ojeada alas instrucciones que van en espaol. Tiene muchas opciones , es muy ligero y est bien de precio. Al fin puedes ir al taller sabiendo que fallo da tu coche.

Franchement trs trs bon produit, honntement j’ai achet ce produit pour un voyant moteur allum donc passage en contre-visite du vhicule pour le CT, sachant que le garagiste qui s’en occupe a eu un contretemps pour le faire avant la date…et que ce problme est rcurant sur les 208 de 2015 .
Au dballage, article lger qui peut paratre bas de gamme mais ce n’est pas pour cela que je l’ai command et puis vu le prix…..

Visuel agrable avec l’cran couleur et logos simple comprendre, donc facile de trouver o le mettre en franais.
Ensuite bouton diagnostic a prend qq secondes et annonce des codes erreurs et suite donner, pour ma part effacer le code erreur. Ce qui trs bien fonctionn.
Certe le manuel n’a que 3 pages mais va l’essentiel .
Pour les codes erreurs annoncs il n’y a pas de rfrence mais on trouve sur internet.
Beaucoup de fonctions possible, chek up complet, contrles divers possibles faire et je compte me pencher un peu plus dessus…
Vraiment satisfaite de mon achat qui pour un prix abordable m’ permis d’conomiser un nouveau passage complet pour le CT soit 80 .
Scanner OBD2 avec beaucoup d'autres fonctions
Le grand avantage que ce scanner OSB2 possde est qu’il est filaire donc jamais en panne suite batterie dcharge.
On peut mettre l’appareil en franais ,faire une recherche de diagnostic, faire une recherche avec un code erreur ,faire un diagnostic de charge de la batterie et bien sr effacer les dfauts !
On peut aussi faire un tchek gnral avec les fonctions du boitiers avec test de la batterie ,de la recharge etc
Fonctionne trs bien sur 207, Kadjar; moto etc…..

Utile pour effacer les défauts après réparatio
J’ai achet ce botier car j’avais besoin d’un botier pour effacer mon dfaut abs suite un cable coup. Ce botier m’a trouv facilement le code dfauts et je l’ai effac facilement. Il m’a juste fallu par la suite faire deux ou trois tours de roues pour que le voyant s’teigne galement bord. J’ai profit galement de ce botier pour faire un tchek entier de mes deux voitures et tout tait ras. Le botier est auto aliment au branchement sur l’odb ce qui est trs pratique. Bon botier et solide pour le prix.

Lo he usado para intentar solucionar un problema con y el airbag que me daba fallo intermitente y me ha dado exactamente el error que era, lo he arreglado (era un sensor en el asiento del acompaante) y despus me ha permitido borrar el fallo lleva ya casi una semana sin volver a salir as que creo que se habr solucionado. Un diez de aparato por ahora. Muy contento
Connectividad general
El funcionamiento del aparato es correcto. Indica que es vlido para todos los modelos de coche de 1996 en adelante. Yo lo he probado con un Renault kadjar y conecta con la centralita. (No marca error porque el coche no tena errores) pero conecta fcilmente. Importante que viene en ingls pero se puede cambiar al espaol en los ajustes.
La funcin de voltimetro es muy til para controlar la batera.
Tratar de probar con algn otro modelo y comentar el resultado

Ha sido probado en varias ocasiones y realmente es ideal, lo compr para mi padre y le indica bastante bien los errores adems de que es muy fcil de usar. El precio- calidad es bastante bueno . No falla en las indicaciones. Pequeo y fcil de transportar no pesa. Lo recomiendo y an ms si vuestro trabajo es dedicado a la mecnica pero es apto para todas las perdonas. viene muy bien llevarlo en el coche.
Amortizado en el primer uso
Compre este artculo porque en mi vehculo sale continuamente un testigo de la batera de la llave que a pesar de cambiar la pila nunca se quitaba. Lo lleve a la casa y me comentaron el precio de quitar el testigo con un aparato como este. Como no era algo urgente dije que no. Y compre este artculo y en primer uso ha solucionado mi problema. De fcil uso y conectividad. Siguiendo las instrucciones puedes hacerlo con total tranquilidad. Muy contenta con la compra
Funciona perfecto
Primera prueba realizada en un BMW E60 330d. Lee a la perfeccin y borra errores, interfaz fcil de utilizar, con opcin de cambiar varios idiomas tal y como describe el anuncio. Probado en un VW passat b6 y tambin funciona a la perfeccin. Para lo econmico que es el precio me sorprendi gratamente. Indica los errores segn la marca, ideal para orientarse por donde empezar a buscar los fallos de nuestros vehculos. No soy mecnico por si le vale de referencia de facilidad de uso. Totalmente recomendable.
Practico y eficiente
Lo compr de regalo a mi pareja, mecnico de profesin. Llego muy bien empaquetado, fue muy sencillo cambiar de idioma, vena en ingles y para nosotros es mas fcil en castellano, tiene bastantes idiomas para elegir. Se conect muy rpido, nos permiti borrar un par de errores que tenia el vehculo, ademas puedes comprobar la carga de la batera y de arranque.
En resumen, muy til para una primera deteccin y borrado de averas.
ITV sin problema
Tengo un Citron C1 1.4 y de vez en cuando se el enciende la avera motor es un fallo debido a la famosa EGR, fallo sin importancia, acelera y se limpia pero el fallo hay que borrarlo. Vas al taller antes de pasar la ITV y 45 por la diagnosis se borra y lo mismo tarda 8 meses en saltar. Con la mquina sin se un experto la puse en castellano y borrar fallo ITV sin problema. Con usarla solo una vez te sale rentable.
Boitier achet pour effacer un code erreur sur une Passat B8 150 tdi de 2017 ,j’avais le voyant moteur orange lors de la rvision on m’a dit FAP et quand j’ai branch le botier moi mme et c’tait une bougie de prechauffage, remplace par moi mme et effacement de code … conomis 120 de valise VW et un FAP a 3000.
J’en ai donc profit pour faire un tchek gnral avec les fonctions du boitiers avec test de la batterie ,de la recharge etc … franchement pour 25 en promo c’est le top pour ne pas payer des sommes de dingue chez le concessionnaire et si jamais vous avez un voyant lors du contrle technique a passe pas …

Más de lo que esperaba
Necesitaba borrar unos cdigos de error despus de limpiar los asientos de mi coche y desconectar el airbag y este comprobador me los ha eliminado sin problema.
Lo mejor es que tiene muchsimas funciones de medicin y lectura de muchsimos parmetros que algunos no se ni para que son (y me gusta mucho el mundo de la mecnica) y es conectar y listo, ya se enciende y a funcionar.
Me ha gustado mucho que se pueda utilizar sin pilas (no tiene) ya que as lo puedo llevar en el coche para ir mirando de vez en cuando como va la batera y la carga.
Portatile intuitivo
Spedizione rapida ed imballaggio Ottimo come sempre.Da tempo stavo cercando un prodotto per la diagnosi guasti per la mia Auto. Questo in particolare ha anche una parte dedicata alla verifica e check della batteria ma anche dell’alternatore infatti ha anche una funzione per il controllo del Ripple di carica della batteria per verificare che l’alternatore stia caricando correttamente con le 3 coppie di raddrizzatori. Avevo degli errori nella centralina dovuti al fatto che avevo smontato i sedili e quindi i cavetti dell’airbag nei laterali. Li ho cancellati senza problemi senza dover andare dall’elettrauto. Ho testato anche i valori di alcuni sensori durante la Marcia e verificato i valori di riferimento. l’installazione stata immediata e l’uso l’ho trovato facile ed intuitivo. Secondo me un valido prodotto che chiunque dovrebbe tenere nel garage per la sua auto.

Prodotto davvero utilissimo e funzionale che permette oltre alla lettura e cancellazione degli errori nelle centraline anche di vedere decine di parametri che sono molto utili. Provato su diverse macchine e funziona bene su tutte. Molto comodo data la sua dimensione ridotta che permette di portalo in giro senza l’ingombro del solito computer per la diagnosi

Non credevo fosse cos efficace ed utile x i test e diagnosi fai da te e x azzeramento errori, se calcoliamo che un elettrauto chiede 20 x azzerare gli errori! Davvero molto utile e direi ad un prezzo eccezionale! ottimo lo consiglio

Prodotto utilissimo, mi ha salvato indicandomi io codice d’errore con relativa descrizione, sono andato dritto al problema sostituendo la bobina incriminata.
Prodotto ben fatto, multilingua con uno schermo a colori e tante funzioni interessanti tutte da provare.

Scanner OBD
un ottimo scanner obd domenisco, un oggetto che tutti dovrebbero avere in quanto fornisce diversi test utili sia di diagnostica generale sia alla batteria e a diverse sonde come la sonda lambda. Una funzionalit davvero fantastica la ricerca interna dei codici d’errore, una volta rilevato l’errore sar possibile cercare l’errore corrispondente attraverso il display senza dover dunque segnare il codice e cercarlo sul web.
Ovviamente non perfetto, comunque, come ho detto, uno scanner domenisco quindi ci sono errori che non pu vedere e per cui serve uno strumento diagnostico professionistico, che per ha tutt’altro prezzo.

Premetto che non ho mai provato uno scanner come questo, l ho acquistato per scopo hobbistico perch spesso mi ritrovo a fare riparazioni fai da te sulle mie auto, stanco di pagare ogni volta 50 euro al meccanico per la sola lettura.
Lo scanner sembra funzionare a dovere, l ho provato sulla mia auto in cui ho la spia motore accesa, (a causa della sonda lambda come riscontrato in precedenza con la lettura presso un meccanico) e il responso con questo scanner corrisponde a quello fatto dal meccanico, sono anche riuscito a spegnere la spia attraverso lo scanner dopo aver sostituito la sonda.

La facilit d’uso stata una delle prime cose che ho notato: le istruzioni chiare e intuitive mi hanno permesso di collegare l’apparecchio e iniziare immediatamente la scansione. In pochi istanti, l’unit ha individuato i codici di errore presenti nel motore, fornendomi una panoramica dettagliata della situazione.
Questo mi ha evitato di recarmi in officina per un reset di una spia.

Besonders ntzlich ist die Freeze Frame-Funktion, mit der ich den Zustand des Fahrzeugs zum Zeitpunkt eines Problems sehen kann. Spedizione come al solito impeccabile, scanner di buona qualit esterna e buona manovrabilit, ho testato sulla panda del 2011 e ho cancellato tutti gli errori sull ECU, lingua nello strumento e istruzioni anche in italiano, abbastanza intuitivo, ottimo il sistema per testare la batteria sia per la carica e sia per avviamento, possibile anche cercare il codice errore nella libreria interna dello strumento.

provato il tester obd e posso dire che molto comodo,prima utilizzavo una chiavetta obd che collegato con il cellulare tramite wifi ed ogni volta la procedura era lunga da fare e lapp era limitata nei controlli, questo tester invece una volta inserito sul veicolo (connessione immediata) puoi testare i diversi parametri , resettare le spie errori e molto altro.
Tester leggero, con un bel display e molto fluido nei passaggi da un menu ad un altro,secondo me uno strumento che non dovrebbe mancare nel proprio veicolo!

Cercavo uno scanner obd multimarca per le mie auto che funzionasse un po’ con tutte, e questo fa benissimo il suo lavoro. La lettura degli errori e facile, veloce ed intuitiva. Ha diverse funzioni come test della batteria e monitoraggio in diretta dei parametri del motore in moto, comodo per testare se i sensori funzionano tutti correttamente. Con le mie auto ( fino al 2010) funziona perfettamente. Lo consiglio per chi vuol spendere poco e necessita di uno strumento efficace
Obd tutto fare
Uso da tempo un obd per la mia auto per avere risposte ai codici errore ,ma stanco di dover copiare i risultati ed andare alla ricerca su internet delle risposte ,poich non direttamente fornite nelle app associate,ho deciso di acquistare un obd pi completo e devo dire che ho fatto centro prendendo questo prodotto.
Questo strumento la versione perfetta per ogni automobilista.Arrivato perfettamente confezionato,nella scatola presente lo strumento e manuale d’istruzione.Lo strumento si presenta esteticamente in maniera perfetta poich ad un occhio non allenato pu sembrare un attrezzo per professionisti,grazie al suo display ampio ed ai tasti di buone dimensioni .Per avviarlo basta collegarlo alla presa dell’ auto e dopo aver settato alcune piccole cose ,come la lingua( presente l italiano), pronto per l utilizzo.Questo obd ha diverse funzioni che vanno dalla lettura dei codici d errore con relativa risposta allo stato di salute della batteria compreso un test per verificarne la capacit d immagazzinare energia . Sinceramente visto il prezzo non ero totalmente fiducioso ma mi sono ricreduto e devo dire che la cosa mi ha reso felice poich adesso ho la certezza di sapere quale pu essere il problema che si verificato e cosa mi toccher fare per ripartire.In conclusione lo ritengo un affare che ripeterei ad occhi chiusi.

Als stolzer Besitzer eines DonosHome OBD-II Diagnosewerkzeugs mchte ich gerne meine Erfahrungen mit diesem OBD2-Scanner teilen. Das Diagnose-Motorfehlercode-Leser hat zahlreiche Funktionen, darunter eine Batteriestandsanzeige, Voltmeter, Freeze Frame, DTC-Suche, O2-Sensor-Test und die I/M-Bereitschaft.
Zunchst einmal mchte ich die Benutzerfreundlichkeit dieses Scanners hervorheben. Die Inbetriebnahme war einfach, da das Gert sofort einsatzbereit war und ich keine komplizierten Einstellungen vornehmen musste. Die Benutzeroberflche ist intuitiv gestaltet, und die Navigation durch die Mens ist leicht verstndlich.
Ein besonders ntzliches Merkmal ist die DTC-Suche (Diagnostic Trouble Code). Der Scanner ermglicht es, Fehlercodes des Fahrzeugs auszulesen und zu interpretieren. Simpel gehalten, Verarbeitung auch gut. Konnte mich aber auch nach mehreren Versuchen nicht die fehler bei meinem Transit von 2001 auslesen. Deshalb ging er leider zurck. Lag aber eher am Auto als am Gert.

I was hoping it would go out immediately. I don't like the instructions. Some of the worst I have ever seen. My experience with these is the only reason I was able to use this device with no trouble. This one is very fast. I have not tried everything it does but I did play with it and made my test engine have a false reading to test validity of it and it passed my mock-up. Overall so far my opinion is the machine is better than I expected. It's built tough and I think if you handle it with reasonable care it will last passed my great grandkids or longer. Put a plastic coated, descriptive, manual with good applicable pictures and you have a winner. I recommend you get it if you have basic previous experience but, it's so easy to use the newcomer might figure it out.
