Bought #562 to enlarge a hole in a tile for a radiator pipe to move, as the new Radiator had slightly different connection dimensions. I had to be careful not to damage the copper pipe but it all worked out well. The glazed surface of the tile did not chip, it was effectively ground away. The main thickness of the tile was easily removed. Will fill the remaining gap with grout and paint black – hey presto. I have tried to add my first review photo for clarity – hope it attaches.

I bought this not for its intended purpose, i bought it for wood carving, and its a brilliant little burr to have in your arsenal, it cuts deep and enhances your carvings by adding a shadow behind it. Definitely recommend for this use =)

How else do you quickly, cleanly and accurately cut a 250mm diameter hole in ceiling, forget the jigsaw, push-saw or craft knife. Easy to set up and easy to use this is another essential accessory from Dremel that doesn’t cost big money, it just does the job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome bit of ki

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersi had a hole for a speaker to cut in 18mm MDF and i thought getting a couple of these spare would be a good move (not that i’m clumsy, just that if i only had 1 cutter it would have snapped as soon as i picked it up)….

you could feasibly use these as a standalone cutting tool, just that they are designed for use with the circle/straight line cutter…

they go through MDF like a knife through butter…and being Dremel branded you know you’re getting decent quality add-ons

in the attached pic, the cutter which came with the circle/line cutter is the one which is not in the pack. ..they are pretty hard-wearing, so will likely last quite a while

5.0 out of 5 stars razor sharp, makes light work of wood

Bought this tool for a DIY project and it works as it should. The bit cuts into tile with ease as it does into wood and no complains so far!

Cuts all sorts of materials. I even used it on a steel retaining nut and it cut it!!! However, I should recommend a proper grinding wheel for something that hard, but for anything else it’s great.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWorks very effectively. I used several of these earlier this year to fix a botched tiling job I had inherited (someone had fitted tiles so close together in a shower cubicle there was no room for effective grouting and so water was running between the gaps). The Dremel tile bit allowed me to shave the edges between a large block of tiles while they were still cemented in place. I have also used it effectively for shaping tiles for fitting around pipes & other fittings. Only reason for 4* rather than 5* is that if you are doing a lot of cutting you can get through the bits quite quickly and that can become expensive.

(Note – I found I could extend the ‘shelf-life’ by cutting off the tip when it becomes blunt (I used a diamond cutter) BUT [very strong health warning!] I am certain that is not recommended by the manufacturer and, if doing so, make sure to wear suitable goggles/face-protection as these are very hard & sharp bits of metal).

its a great value for money. Im a professional drywaller and I use it to cut out electrical sockets and for cutting out holes for pipes in bathrooms. It really makes it alot quicker and is less strain on your wrist compared to a jab saw. when cutting out electrical sockets just got to be careful to not force the drill bit onto the metal socket as the bit can break relarively easily. once you get used to it thats not a problem either.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought these for my Rotozip Rebel, a tad more powerful than a Dremel.
Excellent cutting action through 1/4″ plywood, (let the blade do the work). Glides easily through plasterboard. Just as fast as an oscillating tool.
Today, I cut holes for 6 double sockets and 3 light switches in ply, still lots of life left in the ‘blade’ yet!
5 stars all the way. Highly recommended.

I originally bought one of these for cutting tiles to fit sockets in kitchens. Done loads of those and thought I’d buy a new one. Well worth the money if you have a Dremel tool!

Useful but not easy to use – you have to be very careful not to let the bit jump off the material, especially if you’re working to enlarge or change the shape of an existing hole.

After tiling the whole bathroom I discovered a lack of space to fit the sink, I had to trim off about 1cm2 of tile without damaging the rest. This allowed me to do so quickly and easily. Previously I always used a jigsaw to cut delicates but now think I will be using these.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have a Rotozip multi-purpose power tool from quite a few years ago and needed some replacement cutting bits so looked on the web for them only to find them shipped from the USA only – no UK distributers. A bit of research showed that Bosch had bought the European rights and stopped distributing them but instead pushing their own equivelent of Dremmel multi tool. If you have the old Rotozip tool just go for Dremmel bits and they will work fine. The fit and quality are the same as Rotozip.

Can be used with or without the depth stop for pattern cutting in thin materials.
Not used them for much else yet.
Another useful addition to the Dremel armoury.
I used them with the tool less chuck, but I think they’d go in a collet too.
    Will plunge cut.
I wear eye protection with this and the other dremel cutters as the rotation speed is crazy fast.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThese wee costly but came in a pack of three, still expensive for what they are. Save your money and buy single Dormer drill bits, which are fractionally dearer but last a lot longer and can be sharpened.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersCutting a hole in a tile is both expensive and fraught with problems. I’ve been renovating houses for a million years it seems and used just about every tool invented. Right now I’m half way through a bathroom build and had to cut a number of holes in floor tiles which I did using diamond hole cutters. The problem is that one of the holes was about 1mm too small which is a real problem because I would have had to go up to a significantly larger hole cutter to enlarge the hole without making a wandering mess of the job.

So I decided to enlarge the hole a small amount using my Dremmel. Now, in the blurb it says that this tool is not for use on floor tiles and I can see that it’s a reasonably small bit that’s not going to take a 14 stone geezer leaning on it. However, using a lighter touch and regularly dipping it into cold water to ensure the tool did not overheat I managed to enlarge the original cut through a 10mm tile to the correct size. Okay, it took me about 20 minutes, but it did leave me with a proper job.

At the end of the work the bit was still sharp and un-damaged, so as long as you don’t abuse this tool and keep it cool it works a treat.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI don’t usually expect or get longevity from Dremel tools but this one has defied my expectations. I’ve been using it to shape tile edges over the last week and it’s still performing well and seems sharp.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDuring tiling the bathroom I found this to be very useful in making groves in tiles and for making circle cut outs larger in tiles. This is a good item which surprised me as many dremel tools are fairly useless.
