This is a good, robust ice-cream scoop at a very reasonable price. Its made of polished aluminium in one single piece (so no nonsense about the handle and the scoop-bowl parting company, as seems to be a common fault with many cheap scoops). It has a nice shape and feels comfortable in the hand, even when excavating rock-hard ice-cream straight from the freezer. It is easy to wash clean. I put quite a bit of time into comparing (by reading the reviews of) other scoops in the same price bracket, and all seemed to have their faults. I finally settled on this product, and I am glad I did so. In summary, I’m very pleased with my purchase, and would recommend ithis product.

I have the knives as well as the peeler and they are all excellent quality. Decently proced and and very sharp too. The handle is a rubber like texture so it doesn’t slip out if your hand. Highly recommended.
The shape of this ice cream scoop lends itself to its purpose, so that it easily lifts ice cream out of the box. The rubberised grips ensure that you can hold it easily, but don’t fall into the trap of soaking it in hot water before use, because you will scald yourself as this is a great conductor of heat and you cannot hold this entirely by the rubberised bits! In fact I am really having to change the way I scoop ice cream because I have followed my traditional “heat it first” method for years.
The scoop shape also lends itself to making melon or mango balls too and is ideal for that purpose. This washes easily and is definitely dishwasher safe too.
A really well made product which is competitively priced and with sensible handling precautions will deliver the goods for years and years.
The last ice cream scoop I bought lasted a week, before the handle snapped off when faced with a particularly solid tub of cookie dough. This one on the other hand is solid metal, so I’m confident that the same fate won’t await it.
The instructions suggest that you keep the scoop in hot water, in order to warm it up and ease its passage through the dessert. I dare say that will work, but I’m not keen on the idea of having to use electricity to boil a kettle just so I can have some ice cream. This scoop is much better than a spoon, as it’s sturdier and has a grip and so it makes the job easier straight away.
The price is not much more than a decent quality tub of Ice Cream and so is easily worth five stars.
