Bought a new house and realised it didn’t have any fire alarms so bought these. Arrived quickly and we installed with command strips on the ceiling which have worked well and are still up 6 months later. They are not too sensitive and don’t routinely go off doing regular cooking, happy with the product.
Purchased to replace an older alarm with a built in non replaceable battery. The beauty of this item was that as specified it fitted on to the base plate of the old alarm and was a quick fix. Nice when something does as it is supposed to.
Was a little worried about replacing the old alarm using the same base plate but after a quick chat with the company they said they were compatible.
Put them up so easily, tested and all ok….so far.

Delivered quickly, bought to replace one that has reached the evite of it’s battery life. Old one twisted off the base plate, new one twisted on, job done in 10 seconds
Easy to install, fits the old bracket perfectly, however it has to go on the right way, it can go 180 so easy to put on wrong and assume it doesn’t work.
The test sound is not very loud, so to test the actual sound level you may need to burn some toast.
This was a replacement for an original Fire Angel that was fitted by the fire brigade about 12years ago. It fits onto the existing base which is a bonus.
Hopefully it will last as long as the the previous one.
This is almost the same as the old one, so I could just slot it into the previous base plate. Ha the old one a long time so nothing to complain about at all.
I purchased this to replace one in the home of my mother. Fortunately it is an identical one so I had no problems removing the original and fixing this one to the same base plate. It is definitely loud enough for her to hear it and she’s very happy with it.

Once mounted when it time to replace or needs clearing just turn it and it comes and replace it with a new or after cleaning by holding and turning there only needs the mounting one i have found the alarm are inter changeable
Easy to test on test it Tuesday all you need in a stick to push the button and will beep 3 time to let you know it works

Now December, heard a faint beep one day and checked the alarm- totally dead, no alarm no light flashing to indicate it was working.
This product was purchased in April 2022 so definitely not 10year life and not worth buying. This is the 2nd unit of this type, the first was installed in 2019 by the local fire and rescue service. It lasted 3 years before beeping constantly during the night.
FireAngel have had a reputation for excellence for a long time, so when it came time to change out our detectors I decided to go with this brand. I initially ordered three. Installing them is a snap, no more than drilling a couple of holes and fixing the base plate to the ceiling. Since then I have received and installed a fourth in our living room where a fair bit of electronic junk is plugged in.
Unfortunately, two of the original three didn’t work on the self test. Okay I thought, it happens, I just got unlucky. So I filled in the amazon returns form in order to send them back for replacement. While I was packing them up, a friend popped round for a coffee. When I told him the alarms didn’t work he looked momentarily puzzled and then smiled. “Sure they do, you’re just doing it wrong.” So, he refits the two plates for the “faulty units” and hey presto they work just fine. It took me a moment to figure out what was up before hitting myself in the head. We have artex ceilings… What I had done, was screw the plates down too hard, so they twisted. This meant that the small plastic trigger that activates the alarm wasn’t engaging properly and they failed the self test.
So, word of caution. Make sure the plates are NOT twisted when you fit them. If your ceiling is uneven, or you have ridged decoration on the ceiling, take care to just tighten the screws. not drive them home. The mounting plate needs to be flat.
Feeling a bit silly, I thanked him and life went on. Two days later, my wife set the alarm off cooking dinner.
These little contraptions are surprisingly sensitive, not that this is a bad thing, but… Chip fryers, hot ovens, heavy steam can all set these off. The heat detector that is built into the unit is very efficient. So make sure it is not pointing at your cooker, or installed close to the cooker or deep fryer if you have one. Stick it the other side (or end) of your kitchen. It will still detect a fire, but it won’t go off every time you cook a meal.
After the inadvertent testing due to cooking, and another event caused by my neighbour burning rubbish in his garden I feel quite certain that this unit will protect the lives of my family should something untoward happen. That’s quite reassuring when you read how many people are harmed or killed in fires across the country. This product works, and you can’t get a better reassurance than that.
