Gtech AirRam MK2 Cordless Vacuum Cleane
Gtech AirRam MK2 Cordless Vacuum Cleane

Powered brush head
Our unique AirLOC technology∆ effortlessly picks up large debris as you push the vacuum forwards and locks on the backstroke to suck up embedded dust and fine dirt. This upright vacuum cleaner’s rotating brush bar makes it ideal for removing stubborn dirt and can be used on a variety of floor surfaces.
∆AirLOC system is patent-pending – WO2017/144922.
Long runtime
Powered by a removable 22V Lithium-ion battery, the AirRam gives you up to 40 minutes of runtime with each 4 hour charge*. A handy 4 stage LED display indicates how much charge is left in the battery.
*Runtimes quoted may vary depending on surfaces cleaned.
Easy empty bin
The Gtech AirRam’s bin is designed to be as easy to empty as the vacuum itself is to use. With a slide of the ejector arm, the compressed dirt, dust and debris can be emptied straight into your bin with no dust clouds. Simple as that.
Compact storage
This cordless, lightweight vacuum is easy to store away, with no tangled cables to worry about. For added convenience, the battery pack can be removed for charging, so there’s no need to leave the whole vacuum by the charging point.

Great for quick clear up
Love this, it came with an extra filter and 5 extra vacuum freshners which was nice. Easy assembly, love the lights on the front, picks up really well.
Down side, not always easy to manoeuvre, spits back out bigger pieces that you hoover up more than it keeps in the hoover. You can’t go backwards and forwards whilst hoovering like you do with a traditional one due to it dropping bits back out. Lastly gives no warning the battery is going to die, just stops!
Great all-rounde
To complete the traditional vacuum, we have this super light and portable alternative. Rather than set up the electric vacuum this Gtech is awesome at popping out and cleaning up a spill and clean up but doesn’t replace the upright, for us its a convenient back up that’s used daily where the traditional is now only once or twice a week.
This is my second air ram which must indicate I am generally happy with the product. However, my gripe in both cases is the pivot between the base unit and the extending handle. In the first case, the handle would not lock in the upright OFF position. So I gave it away and ordered another for about 179 in March. And now, in April, whilst lowering the handle to its lowest position to vacuum below furniture, it locked! And under no circumstances would it revert to being unlocked. So,,, I contacted Amazon who didn’t respond beyond offering me the opportunity to contact GTech directly. Online Chat. Oh Dear. So an expert agent asked me all the usual suspect questions. The model. Where purchased. When purchased. The registration number, blah blah blah. My address, postcode. Turn the machine upside down and type in the label data etc, etc. And describe the problem. Blah blah. And then, the expert agent wrote that GTech have a solution. The pivot has jammed and they will send me another that will take 5 minutes to replace. Would I like it delivered to my home within 48 hours? Er, yes please. And it arrived next day with instructions and a fixing tool. Hooray. And it solved my problem and I am genuinely happy with the service and the outcome. I should mention the Air ram and the replacement part are manufactured in China! BUT, IF GTech are so aware of this problem that they have anticipated complaints and have a stock of replacement parts, why on earth do they continue to pay Chinese manufacturers to build predictably useless machine parts?

Incredible suctio
Used for general cleaning, this is a very impressive machine indeed. The fact that the dust catcher needs to emptied regularly (after every room) indicates that the combination of sweeper and suction far outperforms it’s competitors. The one drawback is that emptying the dust catcher is a messy business and is ideally done outside to avoid redistributing the dust you have just picked up!
I bought this as I have poor mobility and find hauling a normal vacuum cleaner around too difficult. It clipped together very easily from the box, I like that you can shorten the handle when not in use. It really, really is very light and the handle twists slightly in use to maximise manoeuvrability. The suction is great, truly an eye opener actually, there is no problem picking bits up from the floor and the dust collection is great. I love this cleaner and am very glad I chose it – for the price it’s performance is wonderful. The downsides (not enough to stop me buying again) are that being so light it also feels a tad flimsy and I imagine it wouldn’t take much careless handling. When cleaning, the forward push is great but on pulling it back sometimes the back of the cleaner lifts off the floor – a drawback due to the light weight versus strong suction I think. It’s very easy to empty the contents and it’s possible to remove the whole dust cylinder so you can clean out any dust that has gathered within the case but make sure you have a good look how it goes back together, I dismantled it by accident whilst trying to clean it and hadn’t checked the way things went back together first. Sadly I couldn’t find how in the instructions either or on Youtube. It took 2 of us half an hour to reassemble. All in all it’s a nifty little cleaner for the very reasonable price. You will have to buy the add on cleaner if you want to do stairs with it though.
Best vacuum i've ever owned.
I brought the GTech on the 15th October 2020 so I think I’ve definitely used it enough now to give a honest review of this vaccum.
Quite honestly, it’s just amazing. I’ve used Dyson, Shark and all other brands and nothing really compares to the G-Tech, it’s lightweight, powerful and it adapts to different floors seamlessly. Unfortunately, you do have to buy the multi-tool separately. This is just the upright vacuum however, I was so impressed with this vacuum that I then went and brought the multi-tool which doesn’t disappoint either!
The battery life on this unit is amazing. I can easily do a 3 bedroom house, with 2 dogs that malt and have some life left over. The battery is also removable, so you can slide the battery out and place it on the kitchen side to charge if you wish. (Instead of having the entire hoover sat near a plug socket) which is a nice touch.
My big gripe, is that the upright vacuum and the multi-tool use 2 completely different batteries which is baffling. Unlike Ryobi where they’ve got the same battery across several tools which makes sense!
When the next model comes out, hopefully this will be addressed! But otherwise, this vacuum is nothing short of amazing. To address some of the comments here – I don’t have any issues with the type of plastics used, it’s lightweight and tough.
A lightweight, easy to use marvel!
What a fabulous little machine this is. I hovered my living room after using my old Hoover and the muck that came out of it was amazing. Its light, easy manoeuvre, the light at the front is a great touch, it gets right up to the skirting boards, tackles everything thrown in its path. The slide empty is genius too. I love it!!
It's brillia
Great vacuum . I love it so much i bought a srcond one for upstairs !! It’s so easy and sucks up as good as any other and better .
Someone has thought about this one as how it emptys easily. Whole dust container comes apart to wash out like new if need be then dry in the sun or a radiator . I recommend it .
Great cleaning powe
Probably the best cordless hoover around! Gets rid of pet hair and human hair of carpet and hard floors with no problems at all! The scented filter makes cleaning things like carpets so much nicer leaving a nice smell in the air.. Only thing that lets it down is that you habe to buy the other hand held model for small places but as a stand up.. I highly recommend this!!! Plus the little led light is cool
Effective Cleane
Put it together following operating manual, charged up the battery.
Effective cleaner, had to run over some carpet areas a few times to pick up cats hairs but put put this down to what my previous Vacuum Cleaner left behind over time, due to it’s suction being rubbish.
Very sturdy piece of kit and well made. Providing it’s used according to Manufacturers Instructions and not abused should last ages, but like everything you buy, time will tell.
Effective vacuum cleane
Our second, used upstairs. First used every day and found to be very efficient in removing dust and dog hairs. Easy to empty and to wash every three months to restore to as new condition. Very light, and its smaller”mate” is a wizard for cleaning stairs and car mats and seats, both with run times of around forty minutes
all round superior to the old corded , heavy, vacuum cleaners
G tech everyone needs this bad boy !!!
Excellent sucker it’s a great bit of kit. I get through hoovers as I seem to destroy them by over using them this one seems a lot more durable & long lasting time will tell though can use it on stairs but u would be better off with extra attachments
A
One of the best purchases I’ve ever made!
I suffer with arthritis and found that lugging my old heavy vacuum cleaner around, and getting caught up in the wires, painful and such a chore. With this it’s just so lightweight and simple! I can run around the carpeted upstairs in no time or hassle. Its suction is strong too.
Great for doing the stairs, I just lower the handle, and run along each stair.
Excellent produc
Excellent product. Lightweight and very easy to use. Very manoeuvrable for getting to hard-to-reach places, like underneath beds and other furniture. We have 2 semi-long hair cats which moult almost constantly. This cleaner deals with the cat hair with no problems. Works fine on both carpeted and hard surfaces, without having adjust any settings. Cleaning and emptying it is easy – far simpler than our previous Dyson. Very happy to recommend it.
It aint a broom, nor a brush
It is a cleaner I can trust
As across the floor it skates
not one grain of dirt escapes
Would I recommend it to a friend
I say yes, again and again.
very easy to use
I have been very impressed with the Gtech air ram, I purchased the Gtech multi tool about 6 months ago and was very impressed with it and that gave me the confidence to buy the Gtech air ram. I would recommend both. They are light, easy to use very maneuverable with good suction power.
Fabulous service - and a good cleaner for floors.
Very good for carpets, a little heavy, but not overly so. It doesn’t cope well with big bits of debris, but not many vacuum cleaners do to be honest. Not great for stairs as it isn’t designed to be so; the handheld is marketed for that. The battery lasts well and is very easy to take out and put back in; charging is quite quick. The bin that captures the debris is easy to take out and very easy to empty.
My vacuum cleaner broke down after getting it’s roller in a twist through trying to clean a long pile rug and made a terrible din afterwards, whilst not turning the brush at all. I e mailed G-Tech, and they (A lady named Gail), responded very quickly and sympathetically- they asked for model serial number, invoice when purchased etc, which I duly returned. Within a couple of hours, they replied to tell me that a new vacuum cleaner chassis was being couriered to me to replace my broken unit and I received it the next day. Absolutely first class service. If you are looking for a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t cost too much, gives a quality finish on your floors and has fabulous service back up, then this could be the one for you.
Much better than the original model, shame about the handle though.
Much better motor than the original. All round its far superior to the original model except for the handle. For some reason the sturdy, hard wearing, metal handle on the 1st gtech has been replaced with a lightweight, brittle plastic one. Also, the battery has been moved to the base, changing the weight distribution and putting extra strain on the new, lesser quality handle. I feel like it’s only a matter of time before the handle brakes.
Cheap build/Suction OK Good lasting Battery Lightweigh
Mixed reviews but decided to go for one. First impressions at first build quality. Seems cheaply put together with flimsy parts.
It doesn’t have a great suction has difficulty taking up some dog hair on smooth floor services.
Think.the poorly lit lights are no point in having. Unless you want to try and clean in the dark!!!
It is light and the battery does last a while.
I had a Dyson v8 that was purchased in 2016 was only used lightly until it packed in in 2020. Trying to get through to Dyson Customer Services to sort this is horrendous as it has a 5 year warranty. Frustration made me go for this G-Tech
Its OK for a simple cleaner but I think it was a lot of money for what it is… Of I get the Dyson sorted then I will be using that..
Light easy to use and good value.
Some of the build instructions were a little confusing but the photos showed better. Once built and fully charged it performed great and did the whole house just on the one charge. (4 bed house) The dust collector needed emptying a couple of times but that wasn’t a problem once looking at the photos again. Very pleased with the purchase. Only have gave **** for stairs as I use my Gtech car vac for them, it’s easier.
Great on deep pile carpets, great suction but not hard work
I love the gtech, I have a cleaning business so take it with me. It’s so light. I was getting a sore back after working a full day using a normal hoover. This has an amazing suction. So far I’ve only used it in houses without dogs so I’m not sure how it picks up and how much it will hold. I’d imagine it needs emptying a few times if you have a very hairy dog.
It’s fantastic on carpets, fluffs them up and leaves lovely clean lines. It doesn’t struggle on deep pile carpets!! This is a big deal for me as deep pile carpets are hard work usually!
Only down side is you’d probably have to use a handheld hoover on stairs and to get in to edges every now and then. The gtech does get really close to the wall but it’s a shame you can’t attach tools but for me the benefits outweigh the negatives.
You can carry it round just lifting it with your fingers it’s so light.
I hope this review helps you decide
Excellent (but no hose)
This is a good vacuum.
Great suction.
Great battery life (easy to remove battery to recharge as well)
Easy to maneuver.
Not too heavy with additional handle making it really easy to lift.
Easy to empty.
BUT..
It has no hose, it is therefore really hard to get little bits at the edges of things.
Brillia
After trying out a friends, I was pretty convinved and waited for the price to drop on prime day. The price varies quite often so Iook out for that before making a purchase.
The vacuum is great and works really well for my needs. I also have a robot vacuum that I use to clean the whole house, but if I need to quickly clean up or do a top-up hoover, this is exactly the right thing. Suction is strong and pickup really good. It’s easy to empty and clean with battery life that’s more than adequote for several 10-min uses.
The vacuum is lightweight, but strikes that balance between being heavy enough to press into the carpet slightly and apply suction and being light enough to easily move around. Can’t reccommend enough.
I decided to upgrade my existing G-Tech Air-Ram as I had it for several years and loved it, now residing with a friend! Not having a lead is one of the bonuses. I can vacuum my bungalow, every room, on one charge. That includes cleaning the mattresses and the duvets! all without having to keep re-plugging and dodging the lead. I have 3 cats and they create a lot of “fur” and mess. I can remove this quickly and efficiently with my K9 both as part of the whole bungalow clean and when required. The K9 goes from one surface to another, wooden floors, tiled floors, carpets and loose rugs. No need to bend down to pick up the rugs! I do have to stand on one corner, just in case the suction is too great. Its easy to use, empty and maintain. Ten out of Ten Thanks
Best vacuum by miles
We bought the first Gtech, can’t remember exactly but it must be about 10 years ago. I would give that one 5 stars now even though it had negatives, particularly emptying. For picking up dirt, it cannot be beaten. A couple of years ago, we got 300 worth of Dyson (the stick type), which is a very good product but not close to the GTech. GTech have solved the emptying problem and it is much quieter. There is also an attachment (costs extra) for stairs etc, which the old one didn’t have.
This one is superb. Everyone says that you will be astonished how much more dirt it picks up compared to other brands, including Dyson. That is true.
Excellent, Best I've used
Had this 3 Months now and it is excellent. Used many different Dyson’s over the years (A Plug-in downstairs + V Animal upstairs) and this easily beats all. Wanted to try different and when the latest Dyson Plug-In failed I decided to try this, having a long haired cat I went for the Animal version.
Also apart from the power and ease of use it is really well thought out, the emptying after use is so much easier,, Gtech having a slider to push the dirt out is brilliant.
Popping the battery out to charge is also much better than having to plug the while unit in.
Lastly the weight, at first I thought it felt too light (Cheap?) but after using it no, its fantastic they got it that light and that Powerful. We now just use it for upstairs and down.
I’d recommend it. Excellent.
This machine ticks all of my boxes apart from one...
I suffer with chronic pain AND I am the joyful ‘parent’ of a fluffy ginger tom. The two doesn’t always go hand in hand, especially in summertime when he sheds his ginger hair all over the place.
I have tried Dyson, Shark, Vax, Henry, all the Big Boys of the family, but This Gtech is number one on my list of needs.
They are all special in their own way (some)
But I was looking for something that were:
-lightweight
-where the weight is not something I need to drag around the home.
– where I don’t have to bend unnecessarily.
-easy to clean filters
– no bags
-can reach all the places
-and of course – Great suction power
The Grech Airram MK2 ticked all of my boxes, but there is one thing it does miss though, (my reason for still having the Vax blade around). That is crevices. It goes very close to the wall, but doesn’t quite ‘get in there’.
It would be great if Gtech can design the exact same concept of weight at the bottom, but combined with a single hose for crevices. I use it daily around the flat. Battery lasts longer than 45 minutes. Quick, efficient and above all: ‘not too painful’
Honest review of GTech cordless vacuum
It is easy to use on flat floors but unable to clean stairs with it. With the original GTech I also received a hand vacuum plus various tool heads. This new version is quite easy to empty whereas the original was extremely difficult. So overall the two are of the same value.
Vacuumed using my old one then straight after using the G-Tech - wow!
Like the headline says, I’ve an old vacuum and it didn’t seem to be picking up as well as it did on the carpets and it was awfully heavy so I plumped for the lightweight G-Tech.
The suction on the carpet is tremendous. Despite having vacuumed just a few hours before it’s arrival, I filled the G-Tech TWICE! What a difference and so lightweight but not a lot of use on stairs without humping it up and along them and no tools (which I knew when I bought it) so I’ve kept the old one for that.
Very easy to assemble and the charging seemed quick enough too.
Brings carpet pile up like brand new!
Lightweight. Fantastic suction. So easy to remove the dust collector, empty and put back in. The lights at the front are invaluable. It is now a joy to hoover (sad but true!) Have a small 3 bedroom house with carpet, wooden floors and tiles and the transition is seamless. Hardly uses any charge at all for the whole house. It can’t cope with my long pile rug that is the only down side.
Handle gets stuck in upright position - QUICK FIX
Received this today.
Very impressed with suction and general build. But…
The handle got stuck in the upright position. Would not click back down. I was starting to force it to the point here I thought I might snap it.
However, I discovered a quick fix.
Remove the handle again from the bottom. Then spray a whole load of WD40 into the area where it clicks into place. It did the trick!!
Other than that…great vacuum cleaner!!!
Great piece of ki
Bought my first Gtech in 2013 and it lasted for 7 years. Love the fact that you can wiz round rooms quickly without having to recharge it or empty the waste bin. And it stands up unaided which is a big plus when you’re moving furniture. I also purchased the handheld model a few years ago which is easier to use on the stairs and also has the smaller attachments. The new Gtech is light, quick, easy to assemble and use. Would highly recommend.
simple system, great suction... so far so good
The only downside so far is that (as the product spec clearly states) no tools are included, or even available. So it’s not at its best vacuuming stairs or getting spiders’ webs off your curtains.
But apart from that, it’s excellent. Outperforms all our old mains-powered vacuums, and is way beyond the small Bosch cordless we bought a couple of years back.
The battery seems plenty for our four-bedroomed house and is quite quick to charge anyway.
It will pick up larger pieces from carpet or hard floor...
It’s imposible to use on the stairs, no atatchments. However for floors this is the best moders vacuum cleaner I’ve owned . The batterie is long lasting, no need for a second. All the weight is on the ground and the sucking mechanism is right on the dirt. Emtying takes it’s time to get used too but works really well when you;ve mastered it. This machine makes my Persian carpet look like new and picks up everything from the Kitcken floor, a great buy…
I bought this in November 2018.
Great product, very easy to use with good results. No complaints at all.
I am writing this review now after my recent experience – my vacuum stopped working yesterday (motor jammed) – I rang the helpline at 11.15am, the lady I spoke to was spot on ( polite and friendly), I received a whole new base today at 10am, free of charge.
Absolutely brilliant!
The BEST customer service and after service.
excellent suction on both carpets & lino. Seller 5*++++
So pleased with vac, lightweight with great suction. Picks up dog hair & everything else. Better & more compact than any vac I’ve had over the yrs, bonus it’s cordless & hasn’t run out of power whilst using. Wish I’d bought one sooner. Very happy with purchase. Excellent service from seller & quick del. Highly recommend. Many thanks
Careful
Picks up very well, but be careful when letting go of handle, as if not up right will fall over, had to return my first one as fell and came out of socket could not put back in.
Looks a bit plastic for amount you pay for it ,could do with being stronger, but does a good job
Great suction on floor model. Great custmer service
The motor on my first K9 developed a horrible grinding sound inside two weeks but Gtech replaced it the very next day and the replacement has been fine. Great suction. Doesn’t get into edges and corners but then uprights were never good at that. The lack of a hose on the Gtech makes that problematic though and you really need a handheld or an addition hoover with a hose to do the edges. I splashed out of the K9 handheld. The handheld suction isn’t so good as the floor model and I may query that with Gtech, for instance it struggles with cobwebs, although it picks up damn near everything else! Maybe it’s the fine and sticky nature of the cobwebs as they end up wrapped around the edge of the tube rather than going into it.
WOW !
Excellent product and exactly what I needed. Battery charge excellent, have cleaned whole house and still charge left. Really good suction, my old one must have left loads behind as amazed at amount this picked up even though the carpets did not look that bad !. Impressive on hard floors, even though it has no side brushes, still got bits from corners of tiled kitchen floor. Lovely weight and comfortable to use. So good husband had a go !.
Lightweight and powerful
i was surprised by the weight and the power of this unit the lights are a bit of a gimmick but its lightweight and the brushbar pulls the cleaner along, the filters and the brush bars are easily changed.
The emptying of the cylinder is made easy by a slider and the dirt falls out of the container.
we have a dog and its excellent for picking up his hairs, its a great investment although for the stairs i bought a battery powered hand cleaner, no further needs for cords i can only recommend the G tech as its light yet powerful
Much better performance than expected and definitely better than the VAX Blade 4
I bought this as a replacement for a VAX Blade 4 which was returned within 3 days as it was utter rubbish as it felt flimsy and I finished up covered in dust trying to empty the damn thing, I thought I’d give the GTECH Air Ram 2 a try and was really surprised at how much better it was than the VAX, the GTECH feels more solid and robust and to be honest although it came in a smallish box it was very easy to assemble, one bit of advice is to start charging the battery straight away as it takes a while for first charge, when first using the GTECH I was really surprised at how powerful it seemed and behaved more like a plug in vac than a cordless one and really worked well, I’m so glad I sent the VAX back to the manufacturer, my rating was VAX 3/10 and the GTECH 9/10 that is how much difference there was!
Fantastic vacuum cleaner, powerful, easy to empty.
Simply phenomenal. Suits our uses and compared to another cordless vacuum this is outstanding. The genius is the collection unit is in the base meaning that no tubes get blocked up and suction power is greater as the dirt/dust doesn’t need to travel all the way up the vacuum to go to the collection unit.
It’s also amazing at picking up pet (rabbit) hairs.
The only thing that may be an issue to some people is because of its shape its not great at getting in corners or edges, but for us that wasn’t really an issue.
It’s amazon, buy it, try it, don’t like it send it back (thank you printerless returns!).
Very happy with this purchase
We got this vacuum cleaner because our old one was just too heavy and cumbersome to bother carrying up and down the stairs just quickly get rid of some crumbs in the kitchen or small, everyday dust/dirt/messes that you just want to get rid of straight away.
The battery life is great, I use it several times before recharging. It gets into corners surprisingly well, though we do have the drag out the old one once a month or so to get into the corners this one can’t get to if it can’t fit under something or into the gap between two pieces of furniture.
In hindsight I probably would have considered purchasing a model that has a handheld attachment to get into all the nooks and crannies but I don’t mind too much.
The way the head swivels takes a few minutes to get used to initially, but I find I don’t have any problems with it once I got the hang of it. The handle can be shortened when not in use to take up even less storage space.
Cleaning it is very easy as well, and since buying it I’ve only had to properly clean the filter once, though it does take a very long time until it’s properly dry again so give it at least a day before using it again.
This is a very good vacuum, I’m really happy with this purchase, but its reach is limited by its size. If you’re looking to buy this as your only vacuum I’d recommend getting something with a detachable handheld – unless you’re happy to get those corners with a dustpan and brush
Great lightweight hoover for my apartment, would recommend
Love this hoover and it transitions from my kitchen to wooden floors with ease. It came with a bit of charge but I charged for a few hours and I’ve used for 4 weeks now 10 mins ish every other day and it still is yet to run out. Only downside is that I didn’t get it with the handheld hoover and it doesn’t have a tube to hoover into the back of the sofa/ on the stairs but I will get it next! For a light, good hoover that doesn’t cost 300+ I would say go for this!
Delighted custome
This arrived the next day after I ordered which is amazing anyway.
I immediately tried it out. Very easy to set up. Wonderfully lightweight and therefore makes the vacuuming significantly faster. It gets into corners surprisingly well and has fantastic suction power.
It’s very easy to empty immediately without having to touch anything really. A full charge is sufficient for more than one full house vacuum. Ideal.
This is a dream after my last vacuum cleaner pretended to vacuum but didn’t really…
Light weight effective cordless hoover. Beats Dyson in my experience.
Great light weight and effective. It’s a fab little hoover great on carpets and solid floors. Easy to clean and empty. Rubbish on stairs and getting into the little areas And corners and doesn’t come with any attachments to help you do that. Have to buy the hand held machine to for that. One down side. However I prefer it to my previous Dyson V8 which I had before. It’s lasts a lot longer so I can get round my whole house. Plus the Dyson isn’t as easy to charge. I like this hoover and it’s very easy to use and set up.
Lightweight Easy To Use
The 2019 Gtech Airram (AR29) has replaced our old Dyson Ball which had given good service and was 8+ years old.
The AR29 out performs the Dyson on almost all counts, however it is not as good at collecting dust from along skirting boards (hence not a 5 star rating)
The battery life is amazing and will power the motor as per specification. How long it will last is not known, but at 110.00 to replace I am expecting a good life!
The two year Gtech warranty is a bonus as many other company’s are still not conforming to the EU guide lines, or may be they will not have to within the next year?
Time will tell how long the AR29 performs, and any aftersales support that may be needed.
Overall very pleased with the product and would recommend the AR29, but please note the AR30 (K9) suitable for Cat/Dog hair etc is the exact same product (as confirmed by Gtech) and only has a stronger internal structure and replaceable fresh air plugs for the extra 50.00 you pay!.
Excellent little package
So hve had this a little while now. Overall I am very impressed with the Hoover for such a small package. I was shocked when the box was delivered. Just a tad annoying that I didn’t see the package deal in Argos for the other hoover to do the stairs and so forth as I would have gone for that.
This is small and light enough to be used. Please note that the suction is very good which means you have to give it a good push to move it around especially if you have a new or thick carpet pile.
Omg ! I hoovered yesterday with my old hoover but I wanted to use my new Gtec so I whizzed around again and look what it picked up !!!!!!! Amazing hoover the only downfall is lack of stair cleaning tools but I am happy to sacrifice that for a fantastic hoover ! It just makes me want to buy the small handheld Gtec now !
Light and easy
I do like this vacuum it has no attachments for stairs etc but I have a hand held vacuum for that so not needed. Unfortunately the joint between handle and base locked after a few uses, I’d had it less than a week! I rang Gtec customer services spoke to a very helpful gentleman who registered my appliance with them and ordered me a free replacement joint. He knew my problem before I’d finished explaining so must be a common fault, I was told the replacement was an upgrade. It arrived within 3 days easy to fit and seems to have solved the fault, fingers crossed. I enjoy using this vacuum cleaner it’s very light had great suction and the battery lasts ages, it’s a shame it broke so quickly but the after sales service was spot on. Hence the 4 star rating.
Broke 1 week after use
In my opinion not worth the money. 1 week after having it the handle got stuck in the upright position and I had to request a new part. Although customer service was great, the product as a whole just is poorly made. And now I’m too scared to use it in case it breaks! Having said that the suction is great and I love having a wireless hoover. If only it did the stairs as well…
The Gtech AirRam is lightweight and easy to carry but it’s surprisingly powerful for its size. It gets a lot of fluff and dust from deep in the carpet, so much that it requires frequent emptying.
The dust compartment is easy to empty but the filter needs frequent cleaning too which is more difficult and messy. After about a months use the filter gets so clogged the machine loses suction and the filter required washing to remove the trapped dust which was ok but it took 2 days to dry completely which meant the appliance couldn’t be used during that time.
The headlights are useful for seeing debris when cleaning under furniture.
The AirRam has a removable brush bar for when cleaning hard surfaces this leaves a hole in the bodywork which is filled with the provided plug. However the plug is small and easily lost with no place to store it on the machine when not in use.
Amazing lightweight machine..
This worked straight out of the box with a half charged battery. As a test I decided to vacuum my house prior to it arriving with my fairly expensive vaux upright, I then re-vacuumed almost immediately and nigh on filled the collection unit, on that basis alone I cant recommend this enough, its incredibly easy to put together (a 2 minute job at most) lightweight and provided you dont need to get into any areas narrower than the unit itself it does a sterling job. A lot of reviews mention the noise but I find this quieter than nigh on all of my previous cleaners and when compared to any of the Dyson cordless absolutely blows them away in every regard. At 190 this is worth every penny even without any additional tool options. In these days of excess waste the minimal packaging is also a nice environmentally friendly touch. Very happy..
This vacuum cleaner is easy to use and does a proper job, considering the very reasonable price.
Used mainly for hard floors, carpets, including doormats, for picking up dust, dog hairs and bits of vegetation that our ‘non-shedding’ dog brings in!
This vacuum cleaner is easy to use, does the job, is easy to empty ESPECIALLY COMPARED WITH THE NEWER DYSONS – (we have a big Dyson, medium sized one and small one, and only the small one is reasonable to empty- AND THEY BLOCK UP WITH THE DOG HAIRS ALL THE TIME, we are fed up with replacement parts and salesmen, and no improvement- shan’t ever buy another Dyson!)
The Gtech dust container fills and has to be emptied at regular intervals, but is so easy, I just keep a bin-bag with me to empty it into if I want to do a lot of vacuuming at once. It wasn’t designed for stairs, but is light and manouverable enough to get them reasonably clean. So, I don’t think it’s perfect, but it’s very good value for money and stress-free.
This is a much more powerful version of a G Tech Airram than previous models I have owned. It is quieter and much easier to empty. It gets very close to the edges and vacuum away huge amounts of dust and hair easily. Light weight and cordless so great for stairs too. No need to use a different mode for hard floors and the lights show the dirt in front of you so you can see it disappear. Wonderful piece of kit.
Would buy Again!
Works great from carpet to wooden flooring. Manoeuvres round things well. Battery life lasts well for a two bedroom flat. Very lightweight compared to others I tried, which is why I bought it. Picks up well, but my long hairs do get tangled round the roller and needs untangling occasionally. I don’t use it on the stairs so can’t score it properly for that. Just lacks a hose attachment, but that wouldn’t matter if you can stretch to buying the version with the hand held vac.
I would definitely purchase again.
I’ve had the original AirRam for a few years and still really appreciate how easy it is to use. It’s so easy to just pick it up and clean without really thinking about it. The mains powered hoover was a hassle to get out and set up, and then you have to get things out of the way so the hose and flex doesn’t knock them over. Instead of wondering whether the floor is dirty enough for it to be worth the hassle, now I just grab the Airram, press the switch and clean up in the same time it would take to set up for the corded hoover. In fact, it’s almost fun (it’s very manoeuvrable) and I tend to plan the rest of the day whilst doing a quick cleaning with the Gtech.
This new ‘Mark 2’ version of the AirRam is redesigned in every area. The overall concept is the same, but it’s a bit more stylish (I think) and there are new features. The handle lowers, and in fact the entire handle unit can be removed by a button on the back. Not quite sure how useful this is, but it does mean it can be packed away quite easily should you need to do that. The battery unit is a different shape and has the charge-remaining lights on the battery itself, so if you take it out of the base unit to charge it you can still see how it’s getting on. The main switch is now on the base unit, and you turn it on by pressing a large pad to the side of the handle with your foot.
The new “airlock” tab feature increases the gap height at the front when pushing the vacuum forward so as to pick up larger objects (e.g. coffee beans, cereal, etc), and then, on pulling the vacuum back, the tab along the front closes down which increases the air suction, for picking up dust (flour, spilt sugar, etc.). I have tested this vacuum’s effectiveness on ground-in flour and sultanas on a woollen carpet and made a video of it; as you can see it handles both very well.
Comparing this Mk2 with the original AirRam:
I think the performance is similar and this new design seems a little better at picking up fine bits. Perhaps it depends on what sort of carpets, laminate, etc. you’ve got, and what sort of pet hair / fur you’re picking up? Some fur will stick to different carpet materials more than others.
The brush-bar in the Mk 2 is a one-piece unit, so there isn’t a gap in the hoovering in the middle that you get with the original AirRam (which most brush-bar hoovers have). The really big advantage with the new design is that you can take the brush-bar out by just pressing a button on the side; with the original you had to unscrew 4 bolts to get them out for cleaning or removing tangled hair.
The new dirt container is SUPERB! You yank it out, un-clip the side lid, and then slide the green tab along and it gets rid of most of the fluff in a controlled manner. Sometimes I find that a bit of fluff gets stuck at the end, but sliding the tab back releases this and bin is completely empty. Occasionally I have to pull a bit out with my fingers, but most of the time, with the woollen carpet fluff I get in mine, all the dirt is out in one ‘forward and back’ slide. (You can see this in action in the video as well.)
The light strip across the front is good, handy when vacuuming behind a sofa or cupboard. It’s not too bright and you can’t see it directly when standing behind the unit, so it doesn’t get distracting or annoying.
The Mk2 is also slightly quieter than the original, with a less harsh sound that some Mk1’s have.
I’ve made some similar video tests on the Shark Duoclean (Amazon code: B00HBZH94W) and the Gtech Powerfloor for comparison; they are also uploaded to Amazon under their listings.
Overall, this Mark 2 is a very effective alternative to a corded vacuum and has a load of innovative and helpful features. (But note that is does not have a hose attachment for accessories – this is for floor cleaning only.)
AMAZING
I can only re-iterate what other reviewers have said – it has revolutionized my life. I was sceptical of cordless vacuum cleaners, but now I am completely converted. This model is so easy to use. Amazing the amount of dust it picks up. It is so lightweight – I can carry it upstairs with one hand. The instruction leaflet is clear and concise – I could east work out, by myself, how to empty it. The only disconcerting moment was when it arrived – in a square box. Fortunately my handyman was around and it took him about three minutes to work out how to assemble it. I never thought I could get so enthusiastic about a domestic appliance. It certainly has the WOW factor.
Useful for quick daily flick round the downstairs
Used every day since purchase, a 5 minute chase round the most trafficked areas (half, lounge, kitchen and the mess under the table from the kids biscuits!) works well and means I only now use the dyson for the full on vacuum once a month now. Battery life is OK but seems to go very quick from 2 bars to dead, charging is easy though. Easy to empty and takes 5 minutes to clean once a month.
The best hoovering experience ever!
I bought this is August 2018 and wanted to wait to write a review until after I had it awhile. I did mean to do it earlier.
I hate hoovering/vacuuming. Really I do. But this one is so light and easy to maneuver that I don’t mind. The fact that it doesn’t have a cord also plays a huge part. So, here’s what I like:
– The weight. It is fantastic to be able to carry it easily with one hand.
– It lies flat, so I can easily vacuum under the coffee table without having to move it.
– It has a headlamp so in dim light, I can see and be appalled at the amount of dog and cat fur scattered across my hardwood floor at any given time.
– The suction power on our carpets rivals that of the $2000 Kirby I had in America (although I did have 6 cats and 2 dogs at the time, and here in the UK I only have one of each).
-Anyway, it has powerful suction. I had to empty the canister five times the first time I used it in our small bedroom, even though the room had been vacuumed regularly (by my husband).
– Emptying it is easy and doesn’t make a mess.
– Changing the filter is easy too, and they can be washed. I like to tap them on the outside wall to clean them out before washings. (I bought extras).
– It doesn’t come with attachments, which is okay with me. If it did, it would lose a lot of the aspects I like about it.
Our Vax was coming to the end of its life so we decided to go for the Gtech as we were going to go for a cordless machine. Once unpacked and assembled (very simple) we used it on our lounge carpet which had been vacuumed the previous day. We were astounded at the amount of dust that was collected . The lightweight machine is extremely effective and we are really impressed with its performance. Vacuming was no longer a chore and without the faf of plugging in etc. was great. We were so impressed with the machine that we sent for the hand held version with the power head for the stairs and the car.
OMG... What a sucker!
So I tried a mates one out first and was blown away by its power. It’s the kind of machine that you should vacuum first using your old vacuum and then do it again with this and see what you’ve missed. So it’s no good on stairs but I knew that before I bought it and it’s not what I wanted it for. It’s strong brush pulls tye carpet or rugs with a real grip and the suction is obviously brilliant because when you empty it you think… “get out of here..”. Battery life I can’t comment on yet, but.. as a vacuum it’s the best I’ve ever owned. No regrets.
It is such an easy machine to use, and is not top heavy like a lot of battery powered devices. To detach the battery or dust compartment is straightforward, and requires no physical effort usually created from stiffness of fitted items. All the accessories are custom fitted for ease of release. This machine is such a relaxed one to use. There is no strain on the back or shoulders, and although Dyson enjoys brilliance of design, this one matches and exceeds in my view at all levels.
Absolutely brilliant! I had the old GTECH which died on me but lasted years, and just bought the new version. Really liking it so far. I have a dog and cat both of them leaving hair wherever they go and this new version on picks up the hair easily on my carpets and hard flooring alike. I would definitely recommend this product.
Great hoover but you need the hand held too.
Great on carpet and hard floor rooms, no good for corners, stairs or cleaning the car. The hoover manouvers well, its not the easiest to push so might be difficulty for elderly, this i think is due to a rubber flap that helps lift the carpet and pull out the dirt (and it works great). The carpet looks refreshed and no bits are left behind. The battery lasts well and charge time is more than acceptable. The hoover is easy to empty and clean. Fast assembly great design.. cant fault it. But you will need the hand held for hoovering into corners, doing the stairs or hoovering a car etc. Think about this before purchase as it costs much more to buy them separately than as a pair which is the mistake i made.
Makes hoovering a doddle
We are getting on in age and hoovering was a pest. We got the Gtech mark 2 to make it easier and lighter.
What a relief, we couldn’t go back to the old heavy hoover which did a great job, great suction but it made your shoulder and neck hurt. It’s so easy now to pick it out the cupboard, no cables, no fuss, picks up great, easy to clean and the little battery easily detaches so you can recharge it on the kitchen counter or wherever your sockets are.
Superb buy for us.
This is great as a handy extra for the kids to easily manovre around. Picks up really great to. My only criticisms are that it des not get close enough to the edges to pick up and obviously no attachment on this one. Also you have to empty it after each time you use which is fine- however yes you can get the loose dust and hair out but I always have some stuck to the outsides so it really needs a good wash Aswell.
It is probably the best cordless hoover out there- I can’t fault how it picks up.
Absolutely worth the money
I needed a vaccuum to clean hair and fluff, as I knit professionally with a lot of alpaca yarn. This vac is amazing, it really picks everything up. I chose it because the motor is on the carpet and not at the top of a tube. That way hair and fluff cant get stuck in the tube ( saw this as a problem on other reviews). The fact that the motor is on the carpet, makes it heavier where you need pressure and suction. It works well and is worth every cent. The only downside is that its not really suitable for stairs, but I dont have any in my flat :0)
Basic hoove
What I like:
* the brush head is easy to clean
* the rubbish is easy to remove
* it has headlights which helps see bits of dirt in bark corners
* can charge it any where
What I don’t like:
* no good for cleaning stairs
* the head is to big for some small sections (so I have to switch to a smaller handheld)
For me the bits I don’t like about this hoover don’t matter to much as I have a very good small handheld but if you wanted it as an alround hoover you might want to go with something else.
Lots to love about this:
– Very light
– Gets under beds, sofas ( where there is space to do so )
– Agile
– Fast charge and does last 40 mins
– Love the light and was not expecting it
– Easy to store
– Equally good on carpet and hard-floor going from one to the other with no settings change.
– Easy to empty dirt
– Easy to charge by taking batter out and charge where you want to!
There is only 1 down side to be aware of.
There are no tools with this, no hose, no curtain attachment, nothing extends, it is a floor and floor only but does a great job.
Stairs, not really, picture rails, no you will need another handheld for this.
I have had Dyson for 15 years this was the first time away from he Brand. This works for me and I will in time invest in the handheld with multi tools for the car and stairs etc when my current one gives up the fight.
Impressed.
People seem to think you only have warranty from Amazon for one year, but when you buy it you ring GTECH with your details and give serial number, model number and date of purchase then you are covered with GTECH for TWO full years. I have just bought this to replace my older GTECH Air ram hoover which is still working very well. Just gave this to my son. This model is easy to assemble easy to use and looks great too. It comes with scented piece that goes in one end of the filter to stop those unwanted hoover smells, great idea. Can recommend this to anyone. Top class
I’ve had several hoovers in my time – but this beats them all (though obviously no good for corners, stairs or soft furnishings as there are no accessories)…but, it is amazing!!
I vacuum almost every day and cannot believe just how much it picks up. I like the collection chamber – but the hinge feels a bit flimsy and I could see it breaking easily if care is not taken. It is a lot quieter than any vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used of been around (my dog will testify to that; she’s not bothered by it at all). The light is good, battery is good – but if stored with only 2 lights (ie what seems to be half charged) it seems to drain quickly. I tend to charge it up after every use.
So glad I bought this as I wanted it for a while (the power of TV advertising!)
It’s great. I really appreciate how much less clunky and how much less clutter you have with this thing vs a regular vacuum. No cables, no attachments, and *very* light. Vacuuming is less of a chore when it’s so easy to just grab this, whip around quickly, slide the cartridge empty straight into the bin, and put it back in the cupboard again. The battery life is more than sufficient for my 2-bed flat but if you had a big house I guess you might have a problem. Really the only downside is the lack of a hose with pointy bits for getting into corners and zapping cobwebs… but that’s a trade-off with the zero clutter point above that I’m still happy with after a year of using this. And a cheap duster is more than capable of those occasional jobs this thing can’t do. Recommended.
This is my third vacuum cleaner in a year. Finally I have one that actually works – the Shark got thrown in the bin it was so bad. The Gtech is light, easy to empty and has a good battery life. I am most relieved to finally have an appliance that does what it says it would!
I have a cordless Dyson but after a few years found that the power wasn’t enough and was deteriorating. This Hoover has so much more power, the brush head (which can be removed to use on hard floors) is so efficient. I was debating buying for a while but waited until black Friday and I’m really glad I did. I quite like to have lines in my carpets as it shows you’ve hoovered and my Dyson no longer done this. I’ve recently moved and the pile on my new carpets isnt as deep and the Dyson struggled to clean it but the Gtech just steams through. You can even feel how the Hoover is just pulling itself along the carpet it’s that powerful. Although this may not be the same for everyone I guess. Really impressed and really rate it. Good work Gtech!
The lightweight carpet sweeper is especially ideal for people like me who are arthritic and not as strong as they used to be. I am able to clean through the bungalow in no time at all, no trailing leads to trip over, so easy to use. If it is needed upstairs you will find it light enough to carry up. Would make a wonderful present for mum or dad.
There isn’t a lot I can say that hasn’t already been said. I had a Dyson DC59 before this, which I bought when it came out. I was the first person I knew to use a battery vacuum cleaner as my only cleaner. It was great but this GTech easily beats it.
Given the cost of the best Dyson this GTech is a steal. I have two cats and it does a great job getting up all the hair. Yes, long human hair gets trapped in the head but it seems to be less significant than in my Dyson.
I will keep the Dyson for car and edging, but hope to replace that for the equivalent GTech at some point.
I picked this up for 60 less from the Amazon warehouse, but I would be happy paying full price – it really is the best battery vacuum cleaner out there in my view.
I have been wanting an AirRam for a while. It’s perfect for my needs. I love the flexible lightweight body that tucks in most spaces. The AirRam is everything I hoped it would be. Lightweight, effective and no fuss emptying. I like the added integral light on the front that beams on the fluff bunnys. I have all wood flooring, and vacuuming is done in no time.
Update: Having used this GTech for six weeks now, I have to say it’s really bad at picking up dog hair from carpet. It’s so frustrating because with each backwards sweep it drops what just been collected back on the carpet, making the whole process twice as long. It’s great with crumbs and other debris so the rest of my review still stands but I’d say it’s ideal for hard floors or a home without pets that shed fur.
We’ve only had this vacuum cleaner for a week so I can’t rate for durability but so far I seriously love it.
It does a great job of picking up the bits, including dog hair, and is really easy to manouevre. I was surprised to find the build looks rather flimsy for the cost but I suppose that’s to keep the weight light, which it really is. Carrying the Gtech upstairs is no problem at all, and I no longer dread “getting the hoover out”.
The battery life is much better than a previous cordless brand we had; its performance exceeds the posh, corded, bagged vacuum cleaner we already have; and empyting it is far less messy than others we’ve used. The sliding mechanism means all the dirt comes out cleanly, with no need to touch it.
There are no tools with the Gtech, so nothing to deal with crevices, but I find it picks up pretty close to the edges.
Absolutely love this gtech. I was warey about which cordless vacuum to buy as mixed reviews of all on the market… But after today I am absolutely over the moon with my purchase. I’ve gone straight ahead to purchase the handheld gtech. It handled the rather heavy duty it had to contend with in my house of four boys and a dog. The headlights are genius as you can see under beds and behind tables etc exactly what it’s coping with. Under the boys’ beds particularly.. Brilliant. Anything too big it doesn’t attempt to suck it simply stops, it empties easily and so satisfying to see what it’s picked up. Can’t recommend highly enough. No Issue with battery, it lasted the whole house, 4 double bedrooms and the whole of downstairs hard woods floors… and still had battery left at the end. Brilliant. Thank you gtech! X
Pro’s: light, portable, good light, reasonably powerful, good for stairs and under furniture, about 30 mins battery life, handles hair from 3 dogs and 2 females very well. Single head plus pipe does everything. 2 year warranty.
Con’s: construction a bit light – ours broke a wheel spindle within 3 months, but Gtech customer support excellent and sent a complete lower unit in 24 hours and easy to replace. Not in the same league as our Vorwerk, but a quarter of the price – horses for courses. Highly recommended for the elderly or childless couple.
My Mum has had one of these for years and when my cheap standard vacuum broke I decided to splash the cash and get this one on her advice. I swear, the dust it picks up is scary. I don’t think that the carpets in my flat had been properly vacuumed for years. The best bit about it is that it is cordless so you don’t have to have a trailing cable and you have the freedom to go anywhere even if there isn’t a power socket nearby. It is really light, which for someone with a chronic pain condition is such a lifesaver. The only reason it isn’t a 5 is that there are no attachments. Because of this, I’d definitely recommend getting the mini vacuum for the corners and furniture. I didn’t as my mini vacuum is still reasonably ok but nowhere near as powerful. It’s easy to store and easy to empty although given the amount of dust it sucks up you might find yourself emptying it more than your old vacuum. That said, you sacrifice the smaller “bin” for the ease in using it.
This is the first cordless vacuum I have ever bought, after years of the heavier, corded models. The battery easily copes with a weekly routine of cleaning a 5 bed house (about 30 minutes cleaning) with still plenty of power left on the LED indicator. I can’t tell if it is picking up loads more than the old hoover, or whether it is the small collection bin that makes it look fuller. It does struggle a bit on the deeper pile rugs, especially if the charge is less than say 70%. There are no accessories with this vacuum, so it’s not suitable for stairs, cars or nooks & crannies. But if you are looking for something lightweight, durable and reasonably priced, this is a good optio
I’ve only had this cleaner for 5 hours and I’m over-the-moon with it’s brilliant design and user-friendliness. It had enough charge in the battery straight out of the box to try it out once assembled and it seemed quieter than any we’ve had before. Plenty of suction, plus it’s light weight and so easy to push around. Battery charged up in 3 hours.
The cassette dust box is such a good idea and clean and easy to use. The cleaner came recommended by a friend who has owned one for a few months and they are delighted with it. They told me they’d recommended it to 6 people including me, and all of them had good reports about it. I can only think that those who post up negative reviews on it, with the grumbles being about flimsy weak components must be those who don’t know how to treat electro-mechanical things with respect.
My motto is “If a lever doesn’t easily move from parked position to where you want it to be in use, then consult the manual as there is probably a release catch you haven’t read about in the user guide – don’t force it unless you want it to snap and breakdown permanently” In other words don’t be brutal with it, as it’s not an industrial heavy-duty item it’s a domestic one. There are plenty of useful accessories and spares offered on sale and a customer service contact.
The company is in Worcester and so I’m wondering if it’s British made but probably it’s one of those products designed in the UK but made under British supervision in the Far East. So summing up – it’s superb value for money and makes the task of vacuuming a real doddle. I could even get to like vacuuming floors at this rate and not hope my wife will do it ! Oh and ‘by the way’ it’s so light and easy to push around that I can use it while tootling around in a wheelchair – that information may help anyone who could use it who is confined to a wheelchair but can self-propel.
OMG can’t tell you how much this has revolutionised my life! So light easy to hangdle and picks up everthing. Not usre about battery life, too early to tell but emptying is sooo easy. I wasn’t sure about how to handle the stairs as it quite wide but I think I can remove the handle and use as a smaller device.
This is really powerful and picks up all sizes of whatever it is needed for including pet hair. However have not given it five stars because it doesn’t do corners or close to edge. You could do with a pipe attachment for this.
We received the G Tech before the expected date and tried it a little bit yesterday and it was so powerful that it nearly lifted our rug off the floor and we were amazed.
My wife and I are nearly 80 and our present Hoover is at least 30 years old (It beats as it sweeps,as it cleans- sometimes!) so it was about time to have a change- again thanks
This Gtech AirRam mk2 k9 is amazing but if you’re buying the k9 version because it says 140 watts in the listing don’t because it says on the bottom of the hover it’s 100 watts so it isn’t more powerful than the standard version. I don’t have any pets and only bought it because of this, saying that you won’t be disappointed as it is a fantastic product.
It leaves a trail of dirt where the lever sits for emptying out contents there seems to be a gap, a lot of money for a disappointing product. If I could afford to buy packaging to sent it back I would
I would like to retract my original statement, this was due to other outside circumstances, as well as the machines not working properly.
I am very pleased with the professional and rapid way it was dealt with and a successful outcome.
My sister has one and she recommended it to me especially for going upstairs. Agree light weight and easy to manouver but lacking the power of my other vacuum and does not go under my furniture of wall shelf units. Will pick up a fair bit including larger particles (I have a parrot so plenty of seed on the floor) but only on the backward pull. I couldn’t decide between this or a shark and the price won but now wish I had gone for the shark with the on board hand held with tools. This Gtech is ideal for everyday clean ups but not for what I would call a thorough clean so my VAX upright will be staying for that!
This is a great vac. We bought the K9. However the cleaning lights now stay on dimly (when vac off). Spoke to GTech who advised battery is faulty. Also advised that if purchased off them direct you get a two year warranty, not one year as per Amazon. Will return for refund and buy off of GTech.
For once the Advert is accurate. I now have two cordless cleaners – the other is a Dyson which converts to a handheld.
The GTECH is excactly what I hoped it would be and does “what it says on the tin.”. It is ideal for the senior citizens who finds difficulty
lifting and coping with the cord of a normal vacuum cleaner.
Best vacuum cleaner since sliced bread my first airRam was 10 years ago I then brought another for upstairs my first one packed up just before Xmas so I have just got my third airRam I have also got the battery lawnmower 2summers ago well if you need a new vacuum cleaner or a new lawn mower go to Grech no they are not cheap but I think they are worth extra money I am 70 yrs old with deformed hands and fingers and have difficulty with a lot of different modern gadgets but airRam well I cannot praise them enough
My hope is that one day these will put Dyson Hoovers out of business, this little thing is amazing. It’s less than half he size and what feels like a quarter of the weight of a Dyson. The suction is so damn powerful it pulls it’s self across the kitchen floor, I’m serious. It’s so powerful Infact that it fills so quickly we keep emptying it. You can feel it pulling your arm like a dog. It has little headlights so you can see under your furniture. Real easy to assemble, and to empty, really flexible, gets under stuff and around stuff very easily The battery lasts ages, since we had it about 2 weeks ago, we’ve recharged it twice. I can’t believe what Dyson have been getting away with all these years at the price they were selling them. This will change your domestic life. Obviously no little tools come with it, due to its small light design, don’t let that put you off though.
We have had this since June and I have to say its near perfect. I am surprised that GTECH don’t sell this as perfect for older people – as its so light and simple to use it would be perfect for those who have difficulty with heavy units – such as a Dyson. We actually stopped using our Dyson as they seemed design to last about a year longer than the warranty period and then start under performing. The Gtech picks up everything very well on both hard floors (laminate and tile) and carpet. Its great on the stairs and one charge seems to do the entire house though start on the dirty areas first! What would make it perfect? The only thing I don’t like is a lack of tools – for that you would have to buy the GTECH hand held as well and we have no desire to but 2 200 cleaners. Apart from that I have not found a better cleaner on the market.
Only had this for a day so not an in depth review but the hoover is very easy to put together using the included instructions and once assembled was a pleasant experience to use, my wife even commented it felt like it was pulling itself along which if you read the blurb it does. I’ve seen some comments that the dust collector is difficult or tricky to remove and empty but we didn’t find this a problem at all. feels powerful and as we have builders in it was cleaning dust/lumps of reasonable size concrete and plaster from both carpets and wood floors alike. The lights on the front make it easy to spot your targets and to check the back stroke has cleared bigger bits away.
It feels solid and well built and we could easy lift it up stairs using the carry handles….. the lack of cord is very freeing, the swivel handle made cornering and getting under beds and chairs so simple without having bend over too far to get it far into the dusty areas.
Just one issue the package contains a green bush bung in a separate bag (label as brush bung on instructions) but doesn’t say where how to use it so had to go on line to find out its only used of you use the cleaner without the bottom brush in…. would be handy if that was in instructions.
Overall I’m a very happy customer.
The only reason I haven’t given five star is because it doesn’t clean right up to the end of the hoover….need another appliance to clean up to the skirting board….everything else is top class….
This is the best vac I have ever owned it’s the WOW factor. Is so light and easy to use makes cleaning so easy. I thought my house was spotless till I got this, couldn’t believe what came out of my carpets.
With suction as good as a standard vac, I find this extremely good. I can whiz round with it for a quick clean and lovely not to have the cord. Just have to empty it more often but this is not a problem.
If it were possible to love a household appliance this would be it. The novelty value of housework wore off what seems like centuries ago for me and after years off cursing like a sailor on shore leave at cumbersome cylinder vacuum cleaners that harboured malevolent desires to trip me up, this is perfect. I bought the first model and was embarrassingly besotted with it – the lightness, the freedom from cables – ecstasy. Having now gone for the newer model it is (drum roll) even better. Lighter, a brilliant emptying thingy and it has wonderful lights that illuminate your grottiest forgotten carpet corners (who knew peanuts migrated so far ?). It also seems quieter but that may be because I vacuum to loud music and make embarrassing squeaking noises as I sing along. The fact that I feel like singing whilst vacuuming says it all. If they’d throw in the cute dog in the advert for free it’d be miraculous.
