Be sure to install this to somewhere solid, like a thick wooden area. Flimsy areas will just cause you to damage it because of the high twisting force you’re going to be putting on this product with your jars and bottles. It works suprisingly well and allows you to open everything with only one hand! It’s not a super simple sweep, you do still need to apply some force, but at least you now don’t need to reach for a towel for some extra grip. Would recommend!

I smashed my elbow in 2006 and have mobility, strength and pain issues and opening jars has become an issue. The bigger the lid the worse it is. This little device has helped so much and since having it I’ve not once had to ask for assistance. It’s easy to install using the supplied double sided pad to position it and then popping in the supplied screws. Even with my gammy elbow I had it fitted in a few minutes. It does damage the lid a little but that’s a small price to pay for being able to eat what’s in the jar. The price was silly when I received this through the Vine program but it’s now reduced to a more affordable level although it is still quite expensive, I think it will last many years though.

So simple and easy to use stick it to the under side of a cupboard so it is hidden when not in use don’t need to find a storage place to keep it.
Comes with double sided tape to fasten it to the cupboard.

To use just slot in jar lit between the teeth so they grip either side of the lid and twist to loosen very simple and does work.

Soon as I seen this, I knew I had to get it as fighting against jars and bottles is a pain in the backside, so let me just say..
This is amazing, makes it so so so much easier.

This jar and bottle opener is very useful and was very easy for me to install under one of our kitchen cabinets. It is not even noticeable at head height as the bottom of the cupboards cover it up which is an extra bonus.

The installation is very simple – stick on the adhesive sticker triangle and peel of the other side and put into the desired place. Once it is there, choose the screws you wish to use (there were 2 x 2 different length screws to choose from in our pack. I used the shorter ones as otherwise the longer ones would have come through into the kitchen cupboard).

I tried it out with a few jars and bottles and it works very well and I really like that you can’t see it unless you look underneath. It feels robust and we are very happy with this new very useful addition to our kitchen. 5 stars all round. Perfect product! Thank you 🙂

Basic but functional lid grip which does make opening lids easier, good that it allows for a variety of sized lids, still need twist pressure but does work. Comes with triangle sticky pad and screws to secure to underside of cupboard. Minor negative is that the metal teeth that grip the lid scrape up the lids (so can be sharp to use when putting lid back on). 13.99 not the cheapest but is handy having under a cupboard ready to use for the more stubborn lids.

Good quality and creative product. However, giving it 4 stars as i was under impression that this jar opener comes with adhesive, but it does not. You have to use the screws provided and this is not something i would commit to. I rather stick to opening jars myself 🙂

I was eager to try this gadget due to declining grip causing and problems and frustration opening jars.
At first I was disappointed as I didn’t quite get the right technique but once that was overcome it has been a very useful addition in the kitchen and has made a difficult task effortless. The design allows jars of various sizes to be opened.
Before ordering it might be worth considering where to site it and ensure there is nothing such as a kitchen towel holder in the way that that could interfere with opening larger jars.

Works as it should but you need to find somewhere suitable to fix and screw it. Really a good help for people with limited dexterity. Good for one use jars as it scratches and damages the lid with the sharp gripper.

Now I don’t have to call my partner every time I need help with opening a bottle or jar. This jar opener does the work for me. This opener is easy to install. I have a rented property so I used the adhesive sticker. if you want you can install it too. It’s a useful gadget to have in the kitchen.

This is a surprisingly simple idea that works well. We’ve only used the sticky option to attach it to the underside of a kitchen cupboard as I’m reluctant to put screws in if I can get away with not using them. Works well to take off tight jar and bottle lids!

Nice large jar opener. Easy to install once you’ve found the right place for it. It comes with a red triangle that is the adhesive it mentions on thd instructions. Has 3 screw holes but only provides 2 screws. Bit does provide 2 different length pairs of screws.

It has metal teeth to grip the jars. Which does mean you’re left with a mark on the jar lid once it’s opened.

Helpful if you struggle with opening jars, still requires some wrist strength. But does make it easier.

This gadget is ideal for those with artritic hands especially the elderly who have problems opening jam jars or any other kind for that matter and fits neatly under a cabinet with the sticker and screws provided and so simple to secure where you want and are most comfortable with,
Made of hard plastic and one side has metal teeth to grip the jar lid firmly and you simply twist the jar to loosen the lid without much effort and bingo one tough jar opened with ease,
    Really handy item.

I wasn’t convinced this was going to work very well at first but after sticking it to underneath the kitchen cupboard (i didn’t screw it in as I didn’t want to have screw holes left under my cupboard if I had to take it off) and trying it out I was amazed at how easy and effective it is

    It works really well.

The sticky back is strong enough to hold it to the surface without the need to use the screws that come with it.

I’ve been using it for 3 days now and it’s still stuck firm. It’s opened 2 jars and 3 bottles.

There’s a nack to it… Put the jar in place – push up slightly and twist. It’s that easy. I’m really impressed. I never thought something so simple would be so effective.

Price is always a personal choice but I always think it something makes my life easier and relieves me of a painful job ( I have arthritis in my hands) then it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

A very effective piece of kitchen equipment. I highly recommend this for people who struggle to remove lids.

My review sample, example of this Homebarons jar opener arrived in a fairly roughed up state. I am not sure whether this is a quality control issue or whether it was simply a repacked return. All the scratches were entirely superficial and in no way affected the workings of this device.

I wanted it because I am getting older and I occasionally have trouble opening screw top bottles and jars. This device may be used stand alone or installed in a suitable under cupboard location. This may be achieved with the supplied double sided stick pad and accompanying screws. The screws are essential because a fair bit of rotational force is generated and that would otherwise simply strip the sticky pad in no time at all.

In use, simply push the bottle or jar into the narrow end of the ‘V’ and twist. A fair amount of force is needed to hold the jar into the ‘V’ so that the metal gripper catches and pulls. Then it is simply a matter of providing a tighter grip and more leverage. I tested this device on a small jar that had defied all attempts to open it (even with two pairs of hands) and pop off it came first time of asking.

The simple message is that this device is effective and it works. If you intend to use it in the under cupboard position just made sure it is securely held in place. Once set up and working it is marvellous. Any cosmetic scratches are invisible to all but the most determined observer. Another bonus is that very little damage is done to the jar or bottle lid during the opening process. I used to have a different hand held device and that could crush the lids if too much squeeze was applied.

This device may be fairly basic and it isn’t much of a looker but that can be forgiven because it actually does its required job very well. It is not expensive and represents reasonable value for money. Once ‘professionally’ installed (if you are not ‘handy’ I would suggest getting someone to help with the installation) it is more or less invisible and just does its job. As such I would give it a cautious recommendation. If you have trouble opening lids then this device is certainly worth a try. It works!

Much bigger than I expected and really good quality. Simple to fit, use the sticky pad to hold it in lace whist you screw it in. Fit easily under my cupboard and works great. The 2 rows of teeth grip the lid allowing for jar/bottle to be twisted and opened. Would fit all sizes including very large

    Under cupboard jar opener.

Its a simple plastic circle with a wedge built into it. The wedge has two sets of teeth on one side, which grip the jar lid when you insert it. You mount it beneath a cupboard/shelf and put the jar in, lid at the top. Its 18cm in diameter and 2cm deep, with the wedge slot 1.5cm deep. The two sets of teeth should mean it deals with most jars/bottles.

You do have to lift the whole jar up and hold it in place in the wedge, so not so good for very heavy jars or people with limited lifting strength.

Only real concern is that the metal teeth will scratch the rim of the jars – so not so good if you were hoping to reuse the jar lids later.

Arrives wrapped in bubble wrap inside a branded cardboard box. Includes an adhesive triangle and two sets of screws for attaching.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well but scratches the lids

This is very handy if , like my, you find opening jars extremely difficult.

It’s a little larger than I expected but it seems to do the job and it hides under the cupboard so no clutte
