The item arrived quickly, and is what it was advertised as. I always have plastic ones and the break after a few months as in constant use so thought I’d get a metal one and see how it lasts.
We live in Spain and the hose is on one side of the house, the pool and plants on the other, I kind of got fed up turning the hose on and walking all the way round the house with water pouring all over the place when I wanted to top up the pool. Furthermore watering the plants meant four or five trips back and forth with watering can in hand and lethargy led to the unnecessary death of many’s a good plant!
Well no more, I can leave the water switched on and let loose only when and where I want to, my plants are in pots arranged around the pool, a quick spray and they are done, to top up the pool I just push the red trigger button and the stream is continuous until you click it again. Heck it’s actually good fun to play with so watering the plants and filling the pool are no longer a chore. The heat here makes plastic go brittle and break quite quickly, this is a good weighty metal piece which I anticipate will really last.
One thing to bear in mind is that you will also need a hose connector to attach it, that’s no biggie, I go mine for 1 euro eighty cents at the local ironmongers.
Seriously, go for it – a bargain!
The construction of this “metal” spray gun seems to be much stronger than the “all plastic” guns on the market. It is not at all bulky and will easily reach inside the wheel arches, when washing my car. The water flow can be continuously varied to provide settings from a fine spray, to a single powerful jet of water.
However, the trigger and its locking button are made of plastic.. This could be a weak link in the guns, otherwise, strong construction? (Although I have not had any problems so far)…. In practice, I have found that it is best to leave the trigger, locked in the “on” position. If I release the trigger to turn the water off at the gun, the build up of pressure in the hose tends to “blow” the hose connection off the tap (This could be caused by a problem with the tap connection on my hose?)
I am satisfied with this product. The gun performs well but I would have been more confident of its durability, if the trigger mechanism had been made from metal, rather than plastic… Time will tell?
