best budget cctv
he ease of use of this wifi cctv is top notch, download app install an sd card set it up and done. audio video quality great and 360 degree rotation make it perfect for home and commercial use, so much so we now have two.
Great value for money
Great camera however it can glitch and doesn’t seem to move as fast as expected but for the price u cannot go wrong at all for how efficiently it does work I would have expected it to have cost alot more I have recommended to friends and 5 others have purchased it and they all love it aswell
elite simplicity
It’s the best of many iv used It’s a bonus with the price it cost I’d honestly be having placed it in the elite especially once installed and the features reviewed It’s nothing but great on price, quality and simplicity
This item arrived super quick next day even though it was black Friday, the item it’s self white I cannot comment on longevity of this camera but initial testing proved very straightforward operation and connecting is just so so easy, even though I was testing it via my phone as WiFi hot-spot on 4G hooked up first time very clear picture . It’s a 29 quid cctv with a lot functionality andit exceeds that price in my opinion but don’t expect it to auto track people running or being anything close to perfect. But for 29 quid it’s a bargain, the app is fool proof it’s intuitive almost does everything for you.

Well worth the money, the camera is easy to set up and the clarity of the picture is brilliant, I have had more expensive cameras in the past, which were not great. This camera is great night vision you can see very clearly, it has an alarm which you can disable and spotlight which you can disable also. You do not have to subscribe to the cloud, as works well with SD card, (not provided) would definitely recommend this camera.
Quality and WiFi connectio
This camera was easy to setup and has good range plus a good size SD card slot. Good value for the money, picture quality is very good even at night. It has a good range of motion having audio is a good feature as is the siren. Having app on phone and being able to receive alerts and check at any time is an invaluable option. Very pleased.
Great - but adding POE would have made it a lot more useful
They have sensibly added ONVIF compatibility, so works with other systems such as digital DVR’s.
They have sensibly added a ethernet port as decent WiFI reach outside is often difficult, so why not have added POE, so that you only have to run one cable. You already have the ethernet socket!
Plus the power cable supplied is nowhere near long enough.
WiFi problem, slow.
I have a very fast wifi but the camera is very very slow to respond when it is working on WiFi only. There’s about a 4 to 5 second delay before you see it has moved on the app, I have 2 of these cameras and both slow.
Picture quality is ok, motion sensor is very good
We have installed this in our grey area at side of the house that our existing Swann cctv cameras dont cover. The picture is much better on this camera than our Swann enforcer X4 set up and it also works much better with Alexa too. Only downside is you have to subscribe to motion detection after a short free trial, so the camera is now just a real time viewer only… even with an sd card inserted. Bit disappointing as this feature prevents my perfect score review for this product.
This is my second Imou IP CCTV camera. The first is a similar design, but they appear to have changed the wall mount slightly with this one. It’s similar to connect up, bit the mount screws onto the camera via 2 small screws on the side.
The camera rotates via the app, plus has automated tracking too, in addition to 2 way calls, an alarm and spotlights.
This works really well and was excellent value at the time of purchase.
This only works on 2.4ghs, however the signal is good, even with mounting it at the opposite corner of the house.
I’ve installed a 128gb memory card, so I’ll record for ages.
Overall, I’m pleased with this and can certainly recommend it. It works with the same Imou app as.my other camera, making it convenient to use one app for all cameras.
At first i was scepital but arrived before time stated well packed took me all off 10 mis to fix and set up and must say im very impressed with the quality and maby functions this cam has perfect night colour vision ai tracking is amazing int his price tag i did not expect this well do e you want a cheap cctv cam this is the one to buy no doubt about i
Great camera with tracking features
This is a good quality product with the added benefit of smart tracking. You are able to set specific zones, once and individual enters this zone the camera will tracking until it reached its full pivot. Highly recommended and would buy again.
Amazing
I already own a different model so easy to add device. This camera is amazing for the price. Excellent a night and the follow rotation is really good. Considering adding another. Very good
Only downside is files can’t be easily downloaded without the subscription cloud service. You can take out the SDcard but a lot of effort and ladders involved. Still great value and really easy to set up. You have to search through the apps to find the features as instructions on the app pretty bad but when you fond the features, they are all easy to set up.
I have a couple of other different brand cameras but they lack one or two features the Imou cameras have i.e. picture in picture so I am gradually replacing them. This the first outdoor camera I have replaced and I wanted colour night vision so this fitted the bill. I use my garden to pursue my nature spotting hobby so set this up to watch my stream and pond. Wow! The colour definition, depth and brightness is outstanding given the price of this little gem. It is smoothly controlled, quiet, fair sound and the WiFi is extremely stable. At retail price of 50 it was a bargain but with the 14 voucher for first time purchase it was virtually a gift. Sensitivity is very, very good and very controllable at the different levels. It does have the facility to cable network but with WiFi this strong I doubt many will need it. I highly recommend this little gem.
I installed the camera two weeks ago and I must say it it performs better than I expected. It activates and sends an alert to my phone whenever a human enters my garden. It doesn’t pick up people or cars passing beyond the gate nor does it pick up animals or birds. The only problem I have is that it alerts many times when it is dark at night ( dust particles I think because there is nothing on the footage). I turned the sensitivity down which reduced the false alarms drastically but then it was not as good at picking up human activity during the day. This means that I have to adjust the sensitivity every morning and evening which isn’t ideal but not a major problem. This is an excellent camera for the price.
Great camera
Brilliant camera for a great price.
I’m very happy with it so far after 2 weeks, only 4 stars because the app is a bit complicated & the human detection is hit & miss.
The live view & night mode are great. The infrared night vision can turn off so you can place the camera towards a window at night without a glare.
The 1080p camera is also very clear aswell
Better than expected
Installation was painless after installing the app and doing the firmware update.
Been using the camera for a week or so, night vision is superb, motion detection can be a little too good, however, you can reduce the detection sensitivity in the app.
In my opinion the quality of this particular camera and the free app is more than expected from such a low priced camera.
I have already purchased the indoor version from the same company which is working perfectly.
very good especially for the money you pay
Does what I need it to do. The picture is always clear in all weathers. The motion tracking and detection work well, sometimes a little too well. At night if the lights or the infrared are on and there is any sort of precipitation, the lights shine off this and the camera will think this is movement and will try and follow it like a cat after a laser dot toy.
Bought this camera last weekend & installed on Sunday. Camera features are great like pan tilt 360, vertical 90 degree.
1. The 2 way talk seems to jarr when I speak , not sure how to control the volume on the app.
2. AI detection are all great selling features but doesn’t come free,
It looks like To improve AI in their software customers need to pay a higher price so that Imou can improve this tech .. ridiculous
3.When you get a notification when a motion is detected you click on the app
To see what’s happening the software struggles to show the recent alert footage , takes a while to load & moreover the software struggles to show the exact moment the motion is detected meaning it shows a footage say motion detected at 4.30 but many times it records footage for 5/10/15 mins , by the time I scroll and pin point the
Exact motion it is frustrating.
4. Software needs to improve for sure.
Before purchasing this I checked Reolink, Eziz but the features in this camera are good but software is glitchy.
I have a Tp Link baby monitor camera , the software is 100% reliable. As
When I get a notification it takes me exactly to the moment the movement is captured.
Unfortunately Tapo don’t have this kind of outdoor 360 camera.
Overall camera is great but software is a disappointment.
01/07/22/ After getting frustrated for frequent notifications I tried switching off notifications & to capture more outside our driveway as I was getting alerts even when some bloke walks on the road , some vehicle moves on road etc. if someone is at the door I need to hear the Knick & use the 2 way talk to check if I went.
Need to try AI plus subscription that costs 4.50+ VAT per month that includes cloud storage for better detection & alerts. Have checked competition like Reolink, EZVIZ brands similar ptz cameras but yet to decide if I have to return Imou.
