Love how easy it is to put up just pump up the top ring and fill.
The top ring does deflate over time I have to top it up every 2 days
Initially, I wanted to leave a bad review, because as soon as I opened it and inflated the tube on the side, I saw that it was already punctured. I managed to plug that small hole with super glue and it worked. Otherwise, it seems quite ok, the quality is better compared to what I had last year. Quality-price ratio super ok.
Some reviewers grumble about the inflatable style but it works well & just needs to be set up properly & on level ground. The key is to smooth any ripples out of the bottom as you fill with water & fill to a high level which helps it hold its shape . I lay old mats / rugs underneath to help protect base from punctures.
In my opinion the material is thick & the design is very robust . At the end of summer I clean & dry well before storing for winter . I’ve had mine 3 years now and its still going strong . I imagine if you had kids jumping in & playing with toys etc it wouldn’t last so long but I bet they’d have a great time ! The cover is a good purchase to keep leaves, bugs & debris out. And I did eventually buy filter pump to help keep water clean. When set up it holds a lot of water & is a superb way to cool down – very refreshing . Its very big / deep and I can hardly believe it only costs 30 or 40 – it feels like it should be worth a lot more – Very pleased : )
Great little paddling pool, good value for money only on first filling of water we discovered a puncture.
It appears to be a snag type hole one can only assume caused either being prepared for transit or during.
Disappointing.
I’m having a blast with my Intex 6ft x 20in Easy Set Swimming Pool! It’s exactly as advertised – super easy to set up and a perfect size. The blue color is a cool touch too. It’s been a hit for family fun time during these hot days. Great buy for the price. Two thumbs up!
After reading so many reviews which mentioned leaks and trouble with refunds I was dubious about ordering an Intex pool however I went with my gut seeing how many had been sold and with the thinking that most people don’t review unless it’s negative and I’m so glad I bought one!!
It was super easy to inflate by mouth and it took 1.45hrs to fill.
I placed it onto a ground sheet and gym mats which were cheap enough from the Factory Shop – it required 4 packs of mats for reference.
It’s been up over a week now and I’ve had to reinflate the ring a small amount and top up the water a small amount from use.
I bought the pool cover too which does a fabulous job warming the water and, because I didn’t want to refill the pool in the summer I purchased the 33 Intex pool pump and chemical kit which are also working fabulously.
Don’t be put off by negative reviews!!
It was easy to use your mouth to inflate the ring, took 1 minute at most.
It feels deep and feels like a proper pool, I also can lay my head on the sides or sit back against it no problem! It’s just wide enough for me at 5ft 9″ to fully float in.
It’s got 2 outlets for a filter pump and another bung to empty the water. I’ve got a pump coming next week.
The material feels thicker than my last pool.
I am so impressed and wished I got this first time.
I ordered the 6ft model so that it would warm faster and take less water, energy and time to keep it clean. Also takes up less space in the garden.
You have to buy your own inflating pump just to pump the top ring and also if you have a garden with grass you might need to get something to cover up the grass before setting your pool because otherwise it will not work x
Get large floor mats xx
I ordered this pool on next day delivery for the hot weekend last week, unfortunately it came with a puncture in the ring so it wouldn’t stay inflated. However I messaged the seller and they immediately offered a refund or replacement so thank you to them for acting so quickly and that’s why I’ve given five stars, and apart from that the pool is a great size so if it comes without a puncture it’s a great pool!
I made sure I had a plastic sheet on the patio to protect the bottom and you really do need a flat surface (my patio is on a v slight incline so one side tended to splash water over the edge). To fill it you just need to inflate the top ring and get your hose in there, the design means the sides come up as it fills (with some gentle encouragement). Follow the advice in the other reviews on here and you’ll be fine.
Only downside was emptying it, but the garden was grateful for the extra water (have decided cleaning it is a future me problem).
Even if I only get one summer’s use out of it you can’t really argue for the price; get one, you won’t regret it!
Unfortunately once filled we noticed 3 tiny holes in the main body of the pool. They are
all in a straight line around one side about half way up. With the positioning of the holes,
we can only assume it’s a manufacturing flaw.
As it was already inflated and filled, we patched the holes. Of course, at some point, we need
to empty the pool and patch on the inside too, hopefully, to ensure the holes are fully sealed.
That said, this pool is great fun and wonderful for keeping cool during our all too infrequent
heat waves here in UK.
I was a little worried about this being big enough, sturdy enough, etc, but once inflated (which took about 1 minute with a battery-powered camping pump) and filled (3 hours with a garden hose)
PRESTO – a 2ft deep pool in the garden!
I know it sounds simple, but it was fantastic on a hot day, and my teenagers spent hours sitting in it, sipping drinks and chatting. its a great deal for 50.
Make sure to follow the instructions – the design is clever but it must be on a level surface to really work and hold 1000+ liters the way it should. Also keep a cheap little fishing net close by to skim it a few times a day and the water stayed nice and clean. We also put a foot tub full of water next to it, and if you dunk your feet before getting in you’ll have a lot less bits of grass etc floating about.
No cannonballs, but great for lounging and staying cool!
It took SIX HOURS to fill, but if I can keep the water clean then I’m okay with the water use as I intend to leave it up until the end of summer which is probably less water overall than emptying/filling a more flimsy pool.
Really easy to put up, it’s only the top rim that is inflatable and then the water pushes the rest into place.
It’s big enough for 2 lilos, 2 adults and a child to splash around in.
You will definitely want a cover if you are going to leave it up (and you would have to be crazy to not leave it up).
Price wise I think this is really good value compared to paddling pools, because it is so much better and I feel sure it will be reusable for years. However, do be aware that if you leave it up you will then need to buy a cover and chemicals to keep the water safe, along with test strips, and this does add a fair bit on. And if you don’t do this and want to refill, it will cost you the best part of 1,000 gallons of water each time.
These Intex pools seemed of much stronger, durable design. Also, in case they prove to be as sturdy as expected the Intex pools offer add-on options and accessories like a cover and perhaps a filter at a later stage. Moreover the reviews were good. I was tempted to order the larger and higher 8-feet pool, but as we have limited outside space it seemed wiser to stick to the smaller 6-feet variant.
The pool came neatly presented in a a 60 x 40 x 12 cm box, this is important as it implies there pool doesn’t require too much storage space (also given that only the top ring is inflatable, this pool is easy to deflate and subsequently easy to fold in a compact manner). Included are 3 filter-hole plugs (1 spare) that you’ll have to put in place if you lack this accessory. There is also a filter connection part that remains unused in my case for now. You’ll have to make sure you place the pool on a level area and on a floor cover. We already had a collection of inter lockable rubber play/gym mats on which we placed the pool to have a soft seating and to protect the bottom. Then you’ll have to inflate the top ring, for this a non-electrical pump is advised. In order to spare me the effort of finding our pump, I just inflated it by mouth, which took less than 2 minutes and a few deep breaths. During the early stages of filling with water you’ll then have to make sure to straighten out the bottom mat of the pool. All in all, the set up is less burdensome than a full inflatable children’s pool. However, filling the pool with water took about 40 minutes and a lot of water – be aware that these Intex pools require a substantial quantity of water as they are 2x to 3x as deep as the average inflatable garden pool for young children. So there is a cost to that, and in times of severe drought you may be reprimanded by you neighbours for putting such pool in place.
Nevertheless the outcome was very satisfying. It’s is really nice and even a luxury (also for grown ups) to have a reasonably deep pool outside during hot weather. It’s very refreshing for dad to cool down and enjoy a beer in the sun. And the children have a lot of fun with it every day when the weather allows.
Most importantly the material of this Intex pool is of high quality, it is made of thick layers plastic that can endure some wild children’s water play. Even the inflatable top ring seems much more durable than a traditional children’s pool.
The only drawback is that is lacks standing sides and a supportive top ring. So you can’t really relax and hang on the sides as you will push it down and the water will flow out. Similarly, when our youngest, 6-year old enters the pool he will lean on the top ring for support, but this will cause water to flow out.
We have already bought a cover that will keep the water clean and that helps to heat it up a little, I keep this in lace with ratchet straps. I’ve also ordered a somewhat treacherous but affordable pool heater, we’ll see how that works out. The next step would be an investment in an Intex filter. In the mean time I’m looking into adding a well-measured amount of chemicals to the water to keep it clean for more than two days – we live in a hard-ware area and after a couple of days of intensive play the water gets milky and unclear.
But overall, very, very pleased with this pool. Highly recommended.
It’s deeper than I expected and would be so much fun for kids.
It was so easy to put up that I thought i was doing it wrong.
There are some major downside though.
1. You can get loads of added extras with this pool that I didn’t get. The instructions assume that you have them. So I spent 20 mins rummaging around looking for parts that I thought i was missing.
2. The pool is so deep, the water was and remained freezing. It was freezing for days . Even though we were having a heatwave in may. The kids wouldn’t go in and it was so cold I could barely put my arm in to pull the plugs out. This would be fine however if u had access to hot water in your garden.
Also my friend told me after she made a make shift cover out of black bin bags and it helped warm her pool up. I will probably try this if we get more sunshine again this year.
3. Lastly . It’s a lot of water. Have a plan don’t be a fool like me and flood your garden
UPDATE!!! Just purchased my second pool 2 years later due to multitude of tiny holes thanks to the cat. Easy to repair the odd hole with a bit of clear waterproof gorilla tape but there were too many in the end… Very disappointed as I didn’t realise there were two heights of the 8ft pool and didn’t notice until the one I purchased was half full so couldn’t send it back. However as it’s not as tall it seems to be wider as they get narrower at the top so I can actually fit a couple of inflatables in now. Just be aware of height measurements when of ordering.
I bought this as a replacement for our family holiday to Spain. (Thanks Covid-19) If you’re drunk enough, and the sun is hot enough, it can be convincing.
I blew the ring up with my very own set of lungs because I couldn’t be bothered to search the garage looking for a bike pump that would probably turn out to be bitterly disappointing anyway. It was easy to do by mouth. Then I set it up all by myself at 6am and it was a cinch. It filled in less than 2 hours. No rips, holes or pops.
I chuck in some baby bottle sterilising tablets at night and then cover it with tarp.
The kids love it but they scream and splash constantly which is my idea of hell when I’m trying to drink wine in my deck chair.
As pools go, this one is nothing short of fantastic. Get one.
You need a flat surface but I have managed to get it pretty full even on a slight slope. The way to do it is to ensure that the round base is flat in the deck with no bunching and continually check and pull out wrinkles from the floor as it fills. That way, the bottom stays smooth and the sides magically rise to quite a frightening depth. I can actually float around on my back in it.
Once the pool is up, it is really impressive and feels like a real luxury item. We’ve had a really hot spell, and it’s been magic being able to get up, have breakfast and then cool off in the pool. There are three of us and there’s bags of room. My eight year old swims around it with her goggles on.
On a slope, one side will be lower since it finds it’s own level but once you have the pool up, you feel as though you’ve transformed the garden into a holiday home!!
The ring at the top doesn’t stay up. This means that you have to continually blow it up throughout a day’s worth of use. Overnight, the water stays in spite of the ring deflating so I have had to give it more air before taking off the cover which I bought separately. The cover does help to hold the pool in shape as the top ring goes down.
Remember, it will have to be emptied though ……..
