Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReplaced under warranty after 2 years. Excellent support from Noco
I bought the Genius2 after nearly going with another equally excellent CTek MXS5.0T, but it was on offer for 20 less. Worked flawlessly for 2 years and three months, and then died. After reading the 1 star reviews regarding support, I ordered a Genius1, for my Honda CB125F I then read about about their 3 year warranty, so emailed NOCO support direct, thinking all was lost. They came back, and a few emails and photos later, I had a replacement sent in less than a week.

These are truly excellent chargers, and the Genius2 works well beyond its 40Ah limit

I think that some of the two and one star reviews are a bit unfair, as the warranty process was quite quick and easy in my experience. Products can and do go wrong, but just be a bit patient and polite and you will be rewarded with a decent outcome. Companies with products like NOCO, don’t get to be so big with crap products and support.

It would be helpful if Amazon stated the correct procedure with links for warranty claims after 30 days.

    Fantastic
I purchased this for one of the work vans which isn’t used often so the battery goes flat due to lack of use. The unit is well packed and seems well built, the I destruction many is some what basic and doesn’t really tell you much about the unit. For instance what voltage each of the four indicator lights represent but other than that it’s reasonable and basic. The charger charged a completely flat car battery to full charge without any issues. I believe the unit isn’t designed to rapidly charge a battery so don’t expect to connect it and charge the battery over night. As a trickle charger it’s great. Can’t go wrong for the price and build quality.

Fixed my stop Start issue overnight 😀👍
Ford wanted to charge me 30 to charge my car battery overnight which they suspected would resolve the stop start feature in my car not working.

Ford suggested I bought a car charger to do it myself, being a complete car novice this terrified me but after a little research on YouTube I came across this unit.

I charged my battery with this device overnight and the next day my stop start sprung back into life.

I suspect I have been draining my car battery by having a permanently live dash camera, I occasionally forget to unplug my cigarette lighter cool box located in the boot too No longer a problem as I can boost my battery with ease now.

Brilliant little device with clear instructions. I opted for the 2a slow charger as I felt the higher powered ones were a little too expensive for something I am likely to use a couple of times per year.

    Excellent battery charge
Small but super easy to use just connect to terminals in car to battery, plug in thats it, u can see progress of charging green indicates charged .
I left on my jag overnite as these recover the battery instead of cooking it on a faster charger I wish I bought one much earlier !!

Seems to do the job, but not a permanent fix
Bought this as my motorcycle battery died over the winter, despite me making sure I ran it for 30 mins at least every week. It got the battery back into life, but the battery is 5 years old and doesn’t fill me with confidence it will last much longer. It doesn’t seem to start as strongly as it did a year ago. That might be partly my perception plus the whole bike is getting on now.

Maybe if I had used the conditioner before it might have done a better job, or maybe the battery is just getting to end of life. 5 years seems pretty reasonable for a battery in my experience, especially if not riding the bike every day. At the very least, it gives me confidence I can get enough charge in the battery to get the bike started and get it to a garage to have them check it properly.

    Very easy to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFantasitc bit of ki
We use our second car for the school run, and that’s literally it. As such, the battery runs down in no time, and I really didn’t want another morning, late as usual, with an engine that won’t turn over. After spending 150 on a new battery I bought the NOCO GENIUS2UK (only including the full product name because Amzn often includes reviews for other products in the supplier’s range). Anyway, it’s brilliant, and now I give my battery a full top up once every 2 weeks. It’s easy to use, compact, and has little indicator lights to show how charged your battery is. Only complaint is that the mains cable is far too short, and an extension is pretty expensive. I have to chuck an extension cable out of my ground floor window to connect it from the driveway to the mains inside the house. It feels very well made, and the clamps are low profile, so with a bit of trial and error you can gently close the boot and leave it charging overnight.

    Top quality
The NOCO Trickle Charger looked great with top quality packaging, first impressions do count.
The instructions were in clear English (and lots of other languages, if needed). The device itself did exactly what I expected, it slowly charged a near flat car battery. I bought the 2 amp version so total charge time was over 18 hours but the battery was charged and conditioned. Car then started first time after sitting idle for 3 months.
I did have a question and received a prompt and personal email response from manufacturer in USA, that’s unusual these days. For the record the info I asked for was in the manual, I had overlooked it.
    Highly recommended.

Easy to use and it works, I have two.
This is my second one, the first sits near permanently on a vehicle in storage, and maintains its battery. They both just work and removed the hassel of removing the battery from the vehicle. After several heavy starts with a cold diesel engine in winter which deplete the battery, with this on the battery overnight, I get crisp well charge start with confidence. Would I buy another? I just did!

his is a clever bit of kit, small and mighty! i have had one or two bulky old carry case type chargers before, which were usually a bit of a faff, mostly due to short cables and overly bulky crocodile clips, this just does the job simply and takes up little shelf space as well, i have bought it to maintain a v twin motorcycle, which it has already topped up and a diesel car, one small thing i did check was if it came with a uk 3pin plug
    (it does)
feels like a quality bit of kit and i am impressed with it so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCompact trickle charge
This is a very compact unit. I do have another battery charger, however it does not fit under the bonnet of my car. This charger is able to sit in my engine bay with the car on the drive. Keeping my battery good for the weeks I do not use my car.
The clamps unscrew, leaving ring terminals I can then secure to my battery cables. The cable is fused also with dust covers on where the cable connects. So I can leave the terminals on the battery all the time.

    Very impressed
Got this to top up my tractor and 2nd car which are kept in the garage with long periods of standstill. Both batteries were fully charged overnight.
We have some old batteries that have been discarded from vehicles and use them to power electric stock fencing. I put one of these on charge, the first red light stayed on for 20 hours before the second lit up. It finally 3 days later showed fully charged, the green light being full on. Although it took 3 days I was very impressed from a 2amp charger. I will measure the battery voltage before and after charging next time. Meanwhile its fully powering the electric fence again. Brilliant.

    LIFE AND MONEY SAVER
So I went on a month long holiday and my motorcycle (Yamaha R3) which was fitted with a tracker had a dead battery upon return.

I tried to jump start the motorcycle with push, but it was TOO dead. So dead that my noco booster jump pack and my CAR both could not revive the bike.

I then ordered this item for same day delivery.. I hooked up the battery which was completely DEAD. Like 0 volts dead.
It charged it completely within a few hours but I left it overnight and the whole morning just to be safe.

I then hooked the battery up to the bike and BAMN! came on more powerful than ever.

    Good purchase, good purchase.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe Good, The Bad, The Verdic
    The Good
    – Incredibly easy to connect
    – Instructions are clear
    – Waterproof (Tested – As seen in pics)
    – Great Value compared to competitors
    – Reputable brand
    – Solid feel and design

    The Bad
    – The cable isn’t quite as long as it could be. It’s a good length but 2 or 3 extra feet of length from the box to the plug would be ideal. Reaches the garage fine though (as seen on pic)
    – No carry case included which would have been handy as there’s a lot of cable
    – Charging can take a bit of time (15 hours in total for my totally dead battery)
    – 40ah maximum charge (larger more expensive units can power more)

    The Verdict
I would highly recommend this item. For the price paid it is a fantastic product that does exactly what it says. It fits my need (keeping a 65ah car battery alive during periods that i am no longer driving it as much). If you want faster charging or a larger refill need then perhaps look at the higher tier Noco Genius units. But for an overnight plug in and forget device that means that your battery doesn’t run flat between runs you cant go wrong with this for the price.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSo Slow but it worked
I have an old VW polo which is being kept for my daughter so isn’t driven often. it hadn’t been used since the end of July and was completely dead so much so that even a jump start wouldn’t do it. The battery is only two years old but a slow power drain has occurred and before calling a mechanic or buying a new battery a trickle charger was worth shot. The unit and instructions are super simple and I connected it up and waited. Now when I say I waited it took 24 hours to charge and not the time specified in the manual but once finally completed it started first time. For the price it represents good value for money so definitely worth buying.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat quality brand
I needed a charger that could not only keep my old vehicles batteries topped up, but on that could recharge my leisure batteries and LifeP04 battery too. This charger was bought after quite a bit of shopping on Amazon, and the build quality is fantastic for the price. The unit itself feels weighty for the size and really solid, compared to cheaper or similar priced brands that are large, plastic and light. There is plenty of length on the cable, although I still need to use an extension but my vehicles are parked quite far anyway.

The interface of the unit is really simple to use, you can’t go wrong using it, literally, as it has protection for if you put the cables on the wrong way round! Delivery was fast as per Amazon’s usual standards. I will be purchasing another of these chargers and permanently fixing it in my garage using the supplied wall mount and screws (a great accessory to include).

If you’re in the market for a trickle charger, I would seriously consider one of the chargers from this range. Even the cheapest charger looks great quality and I will be purchasing for the motorbike shed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBest trickle charger on the marke
Bought this since I already have the Genius 10 amp charger and a Noco GB170 boost.

It’s replacing a Halfords own brand trickle charger which sits connected to a 2007 Ford Mustang 4.6L V8.

This can provide 2 amps to charge a battery before it goes into a trickle/maintenance mode at low current. It features a series of coloured LEDs to represent the charge status of the connected battery.

I got the Genius 2 rather than the 1 because the mains plug for this is on the end of a cable rather than being a built in “wall wart” styles adapter that would block most other outlets on an extension reel.

The output DC side of this is made of high quality cable, the connector for the battery connection part is extremely high quality and very secure.

The alligator clips are a good side and very strong. They feature ring terminal connections to the connection lead so you can permanently connect it to your battery and have a quick connect/disconnect set up with no extra accessories required.

    Noco Genius 2
Have been searching , for a good battery maintainer for my Van….it is used infrequently, and with the demand of the on-board electronics, an Alarm, and a Tracker, all consume power. Even though it has a 100Ahr battery, during the colder months, I had some problems starting, the 3ltr V6 Diesel, after an extended period, so used a “smart ” charger, which allowed the voltage to go high, during charging, even though it was connected, after a journey.

The Noco Genius 2, is a 2Amp maintainer, all though it does go through a charge cycle, voltage rising to about 13.8-14v , ..and quickly detects that the battery is already fully charged, soon goes into maintenance mode [approx 10-15 mins.]….In Maintenance Mode, the voltage falls to about 12.9v. During this time, the charger puts out virtually no power, but continues to monitor the voltage, and will cut in again if it drops below the
per-determined voltage , then cut out when the charge is raised.
Great bit of kit, well worth the Money…..but, for charging , a battery of this size from flat a larger charger
    [ say 10A] would be required…..
THIS IS PRIMARILY A BATTERY MAINTAINER, FOR BATTERIES BEYOND ABOUT 30aHR CAPACITY .
