Having used my first pair in the garden as they are much sharper and more efficient than shears, I have bought a second pair for the kitchen. They are tough enough to cut gristle off meat, and though they can be taken apart for thorough cleaning they never come apart in use. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice sharp scissors. Easy to clean, you can dismantle the blades and pop in dishwasher. Cuts through meat and sturdy veg easily. I haven’t found the herb stripper very effective, I had to chop and strip my rosemary the old fashioned way.

Bought a second pair as we liked it so much- now one can be in the dishwasher and one still available to use. Works for me as a left hander which is great, strong and separates for washing. Our first pair is still good after 2 years or more.

I didn’t think I’d ever write a review about scissors but here I am!
I found about I’d bought these over 8 years ago and assuming they’ve not reduced in quality I’d highly recommend them
    – comfortable
    – sharp
    – come apart for easy cleaning

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWow, these scissors are fantastic, I love them and wish I’d discovered them sooner!
I am left handed and, that can sometimes cause a problem but, not with these scissors. They are sharp, light and so easy to clean, I would highly recommend.

These were a replacement for a pair that had been damaged by trying to cut through something that had a metal wire in it. These are really good kitchen scissors and the fact that they can be easily disassembled for cleaning and reassembled is a significant benefit.

Everyone in the world should have a pair or like me two pairs of these easy to use scissors. It doesn’t matter if you’re right or left handed, they work well & so easy to clean.

hey come apart – cut through raw fish, chicken, no problem, and are dead easy to clean

they are not the only scissors to do this of course, but they are well made, comfortable to use and a good price for what they are

just don’t open them too wide in actual use or you end up holding two knives 🙂

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe argument here is that any scissors would do the trick. Why spend so much on this. Well, being able to separate the two blades is not only useful when cleaning them but also you can use the blades separately which is really useful in certain scenarios.

Good kitchen gadget, great for cleaning fish. I use it to cut spinach, dried fruits. To remove excess fat from chicken wings and chicken thighs. I also use it to turn peeled plum tomatoes into chopped tomatoes if i don’t want to use my bare hand in there. Unlimited use and worth every coin.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWell made, sharp, nice features such as the herb stripper and the fact that they come apart for easy cleaning. Only issue is that due to the feature that they come apart the “action” is a little stiff which is not too bad for me but a harder for my wife’s smaller hands. Also some times they come apart when you open them too far, but that is just a case of getting used to them. Hasn’t happened for a while. Not unhappy with them. They are well made.

I needed a pair of scissors for cutting meat and these meet the bill perfectly. So long as the cutting edge is kept sharp and clean they will cut through meat with ease. I like as well that the scissors can be easily disassembled by fully opening the blades making it easy to clean the cutting edges. One word of caution be careful of the blades, as they really are sharp and you can cut yourself if not careful

I bought this to replace a kitchen scissors that had gone AWAL. Apart from also being able to cut flower and herb stems, it can also be used to strip the sheathing from some electrical cables. The only snag I found is that you need already to have a scissors or something similar to remove the cable tie that fixes it into the packaging. Without this, you could be stuck.

These are very good, sturdy scissors. They feel like they could cut through most things. The handles are solid, and I don’t know why some reviewers are saying that they’re too big; I have ridiculously small hands and they’re a great size. My one issue is that if you open the scissors all the way, they come apart. I don’t know why anyone would want their scissors to split into two. The blurb says for easy cleaning, but I am perfectly able to clean all my other scissors without this “feature”, and I find it extremely annoying when I open them up wide to score something, or open a box, and half the handle falls off and I have to put them back together all the time. Just stick with a normal scissor design next time, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI would not have had to buy this third set if some muppet hadn’t tried to cut open an aluminium can with them. 3rd set? Yes, the second set was bought as a gift for my daughter in law as she used mine and loved them. They are gentle to use with my badly arthritic hands, and so easy to clean and sterilize PROPERLY as the handles separate so you can get to every part of them. No more icky bits of chicken stuck in the hinge. I did resharpen the blades of my first set of shears, but I didn’t trust myself to do a good enough job with them and had already ordered these anyway. These will be labeled for my use only and the others – which seem to have sharpened well – with an M.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGreat scissors. I’ve used these to cut up food like chicken and spring onions and it works very well. They are sharp and comfortable to use.

They also come apart for easy cleaning, which is amazing. You can really get in there and have confidence in the fact that dirt isn’t being trapped in the nooks and crannies! If you’re worried about the fact that they come apart, I assure you it has no impact on their ability to cut things. I have medium-large sized hands and at full span, the scissors are no where near coming apart. Neither do they feel loose at all, and they stay tightly together when not separated.

Minor issue I’ve noticed is that I do occasionally see some brown dots in places, which might be tiny specks of rust forming? So keep them dry when not using. The dots very easily wash off, so not worried about this.

If you fancy a laugh, look up some of the reviews here – some people don’t seem to realise it’s been designed to separate! It’s not broken and it’s a feature, not a bug!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI’ve had a good few kitchen scissors over the years and a lot of them have had annoying little irritants such as the size of the grip or the pivot point being too far back or too far forward or just being, well…, just not particularly good at being scissors.

These, however, are excellent. Really comfy, nicely pivoted so you can open them wide enough to get a decent purchase on whatever you’re cutting but not that wide that you have no leverage to give a decent cut.

The handles are nicely cushioned and the blades are super sharp. I love the way they come apart for cleaning – in fact, I never thought I’d be waxing lyrical over a pair of kitchen scissors but I can’t help it. These are, for me, perfect.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI had no idea that OXO made kitchen equipment – I naively thought they just made stock cubes and awful TV ads in the 80s! It seems I’ve been missing a trick here with their equipment though…

I was becoming more and more frustrated with the pair of scissors I was using in the kitchen. Probably the item I cut the most is chicken breasts or mini fillets and more recently I was finding that a bit of a struggle. Rather than one simple snip to cut through it was requiring more and more, especially to cut the sinew part on some of the breasts.

I decided to look for some new scissors and quickly came across these OXO Good Grips Kitchen Herb Scissors. Lots of positive reviews so that’s always a good start.

When they arrived I was impressed at how they looked and felt, but that was nowhere near as satisfying as the sharp snipping noise they make. You can definitely feel the blades making good contact and they felt sharp. I decided to cut some chicken up, because that is pretty much what I bought them for, and they sheared through it like a knife through butter. Quick and easy and a satisfying noise during each snip.

The scissors come apart easy so you can clean them which is a novel idea. The handles are quite large and perfect for my hands. My girlfriends hands are much smaller and she can use them OK but they don’t open as wide for her, however she was still able to cut stuff so she’s happy with them too.

There isn’t much to go wrong with these but I’ll be interested to see how long they last. The next time I start struggling to cut chicken it will be a pretty good indicator that the scissors are blunt!

I’ve not used the herb stripper (yet) so can’t really comment on that part. It certainly wasn’t a consideration for me when purchasing these scissors though.

    Pros:
    – Decent quality.
    – Sharp (with a satisfying snipping noise).
    – Come apart easily for cleaning.

    Neutral:
    – The handles are quite large, perfect for my hands but small hands may struggle to open them very far.

    Cons:
    – Perhaps 12 is a little expensive for a pair of scissors but I use them pretty much every day.

The oxo range is superb. Last well, always good quality products that do the job well.
These scissors cut passata packets like butter!
Superb. Slicing chicken breasts and such is so easy, and by opening the scissors to the hilt the 2 blades separate simply, allowing perfect cleaning.
I always felt that my kitchen scissors were likelh to have ‘something’ lurking between the blades where they meet, i purchased the ‘separating’ oxo brand not realising they came apart, i bought them for the brand reputation.
The first time i washed them they came apart which surprised and delighted me as i had just prepped chicken, and so i knew the scissors were completely clean.
I purchased an unbranded pair of scissors 3 months ago, simply because they looked the part…. but they were unsatisfactory from the start. Proving yet again, you get what you pay for….
cheap scissors 3.50, difficult to cut as not truly sharp or strong enough to open passata packs, cut meat etc
Oxo scissors 9.99, slice through passata packs like its cutting card, with minimum effort, breeze through meats and optimum cleaning.
My last oxo scissors stayed good for years, so there is just no contest.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI LOVE this pair of scissors. This is my second pair.
The first pair I used almost daily for 7 years to cut everything in the kitchen; opening stubborn plastic food wrappers, herps, paper, garden twine, anything. They are my go to scissors for everything. They cut really well and while waiting for my new pair to arrived I realised just how good they are at cutting compared to the replacement scissors I attempted to used in the mean time. With other scissors it would take several goes at cutting stubborn food plastic wrappers, whereas the OXO would do it, easily and neatly, in one go, everytime.
I love these scissors because they are high quality , scarp, cut amazingly, and practical: Any time they get even remotely dirty I just disassemply them in a seocnd, put them in the dishwasher, and they are ready clean for next time. -Essential for kitchen/house scissors.
The first pair lasted me 7 years and were in the dishwasheer at least 2-3 timer a week. The only reason I wanted a new pair was because I saw the tiniest rust spot on them and for fear of ‘flying’ rust in the dishwasher I did not want to take the risk of keep using them.
I think every kitchen should have one. But be sure to keep it in a fixed handy top kitchen drawer, so you can find them in a second. You will be amazed how you will start using them all the time, and get to love neatly openned cereal bags (less spillage).
I love mine so much I bought 5 extra pairs this time, and have given them to family and friends just to help them in their days, and give them the joy of using a great tool. And I now think I will order more to give out as small leaving-home, thank you and housewarming gifts etc.
    JUST GET THEM and ENJOY.
And have fun with the brain teaser of getting used to putting them back together again. Initially it took me quite a few goes but now it’s done in 2 secs 😉
