Great fi
Easy to get on and off and not too difficult when wet either.
I like the thinner neoprene as it doesn’t make your feet too floaty (I’m a breaststroke swimmer so that matters)
Great for cold wate swimming
Wore them in sea today, very easy to get on and off and kept feet cosy. I have only rated durability at 3 s my friend says if you wea them on a SUP they don’t last long.
Warm and comfy
Warm and comfortable. They do wear out if you walk on rough ground: but I use them almost every day and I’m happy to buy another pair when they start to fall apart.
Warm
Keeps your feet warm while open water swimming but these only lasted 3 months before getting holes on the bottom – I think if you were only swimming in the sea – sand wouldn’t cause this but I swim in lakes.
Unfortunate though, because I really did like them.
Saved my toes!
I’d been going without and suffering almost frostbite in the 3C lakes & rivers in winters. These socks are snug fitting but do the job pretty good wear so far —one season.
Swim socks
Great to keep feet from getting too cold while swimming the north sea, aberdeenshire. Despite being used a lot over the last year on sandy and rocky beaches/riverbanks/lochsides they have weathered well. Will buy again. Thank you
Brilliant, just what I needed very well made
These are far the best thermal water protecting Socks, so comfortable fit amazing I read the reviews and they said they were very good and they’re exactly right. I’ve bought another brand on Amazon and this brand is the best thermal socks by far thank you
Love these!
Started sea swimming on New Year’s Day and it was my fingers and toes that suffered the most..ice blocks!
Looking around at what gear people were using and decided on getting some neoprene socks and gloves.
What a difference and definitely helped with keeping my toes from getting so cold. Can’t compare these to other types but for a first purchase, I’m very happy with these.
Swim socks
I brought these a year ago for outdoor swimming. I only wear them in the winter months (oct onwards) and I have pleased with the quality and fit. They do make a huge difference and keep your feet at a comfortable temperature, my husband also brought some and he always stays in the water longer than myself. I think for the money you can’t go wrong
Pull on socks tight to get o
Socks nice and warm for cold water swimming
These are difficult to get on and off around the ankle esp when you’re cold and wet
Next time I’ll opt for a pair that has a zip or access
Great well fitting socks, but hard to get off when wet.
I really like these socks. They are a great fit and let in hardly any water. I don’t feel even a trickle of cold water when I enter the lake.
I’ve only put 4 stars because they are difficult to take off when wet. Perhaps because they are such a good fit in the first place.
I was happy with these on the first use, they kept my feet warm, had a decent cushion and seemed well made and durable, however on the 2nd wear, I come out of the swimming pool with the toe area worn out!
I figured, it being used in a swimming pool would mean it had to withstand a whole lot less than if I had to walk into the sea and along the sea bed or even lake however that was not the case at all! I literally got 1 decent use out of them and then the next use was with them letting in more water than the first use.
Today I used them for the 3rd time and there is no way I can get a 4th use out of them! My toes are almost poking through, I’m left to one thin layer to protect my feet from the surface and so much water comes through it’s a joke! I’m now going to have to buy another pain which are a lot more expensive hoping they would at least last a month by the very least!
A quarter way through 2 week use these were useless (swimming twice a week)! Never expected it to be quite these bad! Wouldn’t buy these again or recommend which is a shame as my first thought on these were that they were great! Now I’m just disappointed
Great purchase!! Talk about value for money.
I have now used these socks twice since I got them in the VERY choppy winter waters of the North West of Scotland. They are so so warm and comfy. Wow! I’m impressed. I have worn them both along with a wetsuit but also when I was just doing a quick dip and only had a bikini on otherwise. During the latter my body hadn’t even noticed the cold water until it was passed my knees. It’s amazing, just completely takes away the initial shock and helps your body adjust. I am a UK size 6 and I got a Medium which fit me perfectly. I wouldn’t want them to be any tighter.
Great for new sea swimmers
Bought these when I wanted to start trying sea swimming, didn’t want to spend too much in case I didn’t enjoy it but needed something to keep my feet safe and warm. These are great for the price, they make a big difference to my feet’s temperature in the water, and thick enough to protect from anything I stand on. Only problem is the glue started to split on the edges after maybe 3 months of usage, however this was maybe because I was putting them in the washing machine with my other swim stuff 5+ times a week.
I have bought a second pair but I may look to purchase something more expensive and durable if this next pair also begins to fall apart.
They work!
These socks do make a good seal over the wetsuit and stop your feet getting cold! Only a small amount of water penetrates so you don’t end up with a soggy balloon of water in the toes that does nothing to keep your feet warm. They are also pretty good value for money. I’ve not really tested the durability of them yet and, if I had one other suggestion to make, I’d make them just an inch or two longer so they come up the calf higher. That said, they do come up the calf by about 4-5 inches.
They look lovely but still don't keep my feet as warm as I hoped
Same as per the gloves I have bought, the quality seems good but I have not used them long enough. First time I worn them in the water, they felt warm and snugged, so my feet were ok.
Second time, similar but less snug.
Third time, realised that they were not as snugged as the first time, the material had stretched a little and water was getting in more and more with each wear and swim. A lot of water goes in from my ankles, there is a lot more space inside were my feet are and all that water makes my feet very cold. So I don’t experience the same warmth as I did with the first time use. Like with the gloves, since the material seems to stretch I wish I could find a smaller size than Small which is the size I bought. My shoes’ size can vary between 4-5 depending on the shoes. But these are just a little too big now. So, I will try tying a bit of velcro strips on top of the socks around my ankles to see if this helps keeping the water out, because if the water stays out, I think they will keep my feet warmer…or at least that is my hope! 🙂
Made a massive difference
These booties do not have all the features of the more expensive models but I swim occasionally so it made sense. I could not believe the difference they made – no more foot cramps when entering cold water, even in winter. They fit perfectly when dry but once wet they feel a bit long (I got an M for my size 5.5-6 and I feel it would definitely be OK for 7 or even 8). They are quite tight around the ankle (intentionally I believe) so a bit of a pain to remove after a swim but it’s manageable and I am not prepared to pay several times over for ones with a zip. For the money they are excellent.
Not bad
OK so I was going to give this product less of a rating, but that would have been unfair as I haven’t used these directly IN water. I used them for paddleboarding and they were great. But after a couple of hours my feet started to get cold, took the socks off and the outside was bone dry. The inside however was very wet, due to sweating! These socks aren’t the most breathable when out the water. However for price, good product and would buy again.
EDIT: I also tried using them mountain biking and had the same problem, they definitely kept water out, but also kept all the air in! Maybe next time I’ll wear a thin pair of normal socks underneath and see how that works
Suffer from cold feet when in open water or playing in the sea on holidays? Get some :)
My wife and I both do some open water swimming and she has often used Wetsuit socks when swimming and later last year I got really cold feet (I had never had a problem with this before) so she got me these for Christmas and gave me them a little early as we were going to do a little open water before it got too cold, and I must say I am well pleased.
I have used “proper” wetsuit boots for diving in the past and in comparison, the base seems durable and reduces the pain of entering the water on stony ground.
If you suffer from cold feet when swimming in open water or playing in the sea on holidays I would heartily recommend a pare of these.
If you use a wetsuit then swimming tucking the top under the wetsuit reduces drag and flushing of the boots.
I’m a ladies size 6/euro 39 (narrow width) and asked a question before buying as couldnt work out whether to buy a small or medium from the write up! The responses back were a mix so I bought both to be on the safe side!
In short – both fit and are excellent for sea swimming. Keeps your feet warm and protected and are relatively easy to get off!
Small – these are snug, wouldn’t recommend if you have wider size 6 feet or any bigger. Slightly more difficult to get off due to being snugger but still fairly easy.
Medium – these aren’t much longer than the small, but are wider. I was worried they’d be ‘flappy’ when swimming but they weren’t at all, just not as snug as the small (understandably!) They are stretchy so I’d say would fit upto approx size 8 but no bigger but would be snug especially if your feet are wider.
All in all – I’m impressed. I thought I’d be returning or selling one pair on but I won’t be doing as both fit!
Hopefully they will last, no immediate concerns at the moment tho!
If I had to give up all my cold water swimming equipment except one, this would be the one I would keep. They keep my feet really warm and if they do start to feel cold, it is time to get out. I usually get mild cold water shock a few minutes after entering cold water but this disappears quickly and feet are toasty warm very quickly. They are quite tight and a bit of a struggle to get off – I would love a pair just like this but with a zip. Great value for money. They are wearing well, too – there are rocks to walk over when entering and leaving the place where I usually swim and the socks are holding up well to this. I recommend this product to anyone who swims in water under 10 deg C.
