Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAmazon delivered 3 items in very good condition the day after I ordered them, even though I didn’t use Amazon Prime.

The polishing kit was in a sealed cardboard box – this was intact and easy to open. The buffers looked clean, intact and pretty good quality.

One thing I would definately recommend, prior to purchase – make sure your drill will attach to the buffers. I have a Black & Decker which was fine, but some smaller drills may not be so easy.

In my photo’s I show an old copper coin (yes I know your not supposed to do this). I used a sonic cleaner (rubbish), then Peek Compound (great results), and finally used the drill buffers (almost as good as new). So a combination of products may be an option, dependant on what you’re polishing/cleaning.

I did notice other reviewers mentioned that the buffers get very dirty, and are difficult to clean, so I made a point of looking at this as mine also became rather grubby.
Firstly I tried washing off any cleaning product in mild soapy water prior to using the buffers, to ensure any hidden residue was removed. This worked ok, but didn’t prevent the buffers getting dirty.
My own remedy was, once you’ve finished using them, to put the buffer in a combination of bleach, some soap, and boiling water (it has to be boiling so take care). Plus, a product that rhymes with ‘banish’. Put them all in a bowl in the sink, add the water last. Leave it to fizz for 30-40 minutes. Then rinse and leave to dry. My picture shows the buffer after 20 minutes in this mixture.
If you can’t get ‘that’ product look for soda crystals, and other shops do sell cheaper ‘Oxi’ alternatives. Both are technically for stain removal, but they clean buffers, mugs and garden ornaments – you name it, really well. Just don’t try plastic – guess why?

Lastly, as a novice ‘buffer’ cleaner I did notice a quantity of waste material coming off the buffer during cleaning. I assume this is normal, but would be interested to hear what other purchasers think.

A good first, or occasional use tool. I do recommend it as a good starting point, but perhaps in conjunction with other products.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great results. Not for tight/small areas.

I am using the polishing heads, for polishing the chrome and paint work on my motorbike. Just make sure before use, that the heads are tight. Thankfully I checked before I started to use them, as 3 of the heads where loose.

Don’t be surprised when you use this product if there is a lot of cotton threads flying about. They are not about to fall apart. After initial start up they do stay together and will bring up a nice finish on whatever you are polishing

Like this product as not bad price but not sure they will last long, I am currently polishing my engine cases but feel they will last beyond this job so pretty pleased

I did only use one from the box as all I was wanting to do was restore the headlight lens on the Landcruiser with some compound and it did the trick. For that reason alone it was perfect for the job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money and did what I wanted it to do.

Used the polishing wheel to shine up the wheel bolts on my car. Removed the wheel bolts, fitted the polishing wheel to my drill, applied polish to the bolts and used the wheel to polish them to a shiny finish.
Always remember to use safety glasses.

This product is substantially made and, with careful use, gives a good finish to detailed surfaces where a larger mop would be impractical. Too early to offer any kind of meaningful comment on longevity although my wife says they should hand-wash successfully, so maybe time will tell.

Bought to polish up a copper planter, removed 20 years of neglect and now looking great. Tried on other things and guess what, they look great too! Very light touch on my white gold ring and I’ve removed a lot of the scratches. Need to get a new drill though, mines old and the bearings are getting loose plus do remember to wear ear defenders.

I wanted something to use with my drill and that was mobile and useful in confined, close quarters. This set gives plenty of choice and I found them to be ‘just the job’. During initial use there was a lot of shedding of loose threads but this soon ceased and the mops retained their shape and thickness. They did a good job. can’t comment on durability as only had short, light use so far. But they look like they will last the course.
