Far too thick to a apply and get a good finish right out of the tin.
Luckily it’s a water based paint so thinning with water is easily done by adding more, otherwise the only thing you’ll be proud of is managing pulling the brush off of your furniture.
Once thinned however, it’s a fantastic paint.

For a small tin a lot goes along way .. the finish is exactly what I wanted matt I did too coats only for bits I missed, I used a 2″ inch roller on larger sections and small good quality brush on smaller .. paint was simply rinsed off, no fumes either .. the colour is unusual as it isn’t black it looks like a extremely dark hint of aubergine Well to my eyes anyway

5.0 out of 5 stars No fumes Great coverage and finish

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used this product on arms and legs I had upholstered, it did exactly as described, I did two coats but could have got away with one, I am very pleased with end result. It was also easy to use and I am no experienced painter.

Bought this paint to update a sideboard and am very happy with the results. I was worried as the paint appeared very green before it dried but it has dried to a nice teal blue.
It’s definitely a teal blue rather than the dark blue it appears in the image.

I used this to repaint a bookcase I was up cycling. It is non-toxic and safe to use in places that aren’t well ventilated. It has a demi-matte finish, and I covered with a finishing wax to protect it.

It’s really nice rich colour – my only complaint is that I found some small chips reasonably quickly even with the wax. It might need a longer time to dry than it says on the tin, or a lot longer than it’s touch dry before you can start moving furniture around again.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe had this traditional white ikea sideboard (pictured) that seemed a bit too bland so decided to purchase this paint to give it a refresh and also tie it in with the rest of the house. The blue is like a blue grey, almost a dull teal, but it’s really modern and has some warmth to it which is what I was looking for.

The paint went on easily, it took three coats to do this piece but in places I could have done four. Each time it dried well overnight, and you could see the coverage building over the white. I chose to top this with a clear data in varnish afterwards just for durability but I don’t think you would have to. The main point about this paint is the colour, it really is lovely and flare at quality chalk paint for furniture.

Rustoleum have a huge range of colours and this Evening Blue was perfect for my wooden signs. It paints on easily. I’m using on bare wood so I do have to do maybe three coats to get the shade I want but it dries quickly so this is not a problem. Brush washes with water but I find it much harder to clean than acrylic paint, a bit more shrubbing is needed! But definitely worth it for all the colour choices.

This covered a small cupboard as part of a kitchen refurbishment. It went on easily, covered well and produced a first class finish in one coat. The surface was then waxed to seal.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI put the first coat on with a roller which looked great.
After 4 hours drying time I put a second coat on and then suddenly I had lumps on my roller, which was the paint from the first coat.
Luckily I only did a quarter of a dining table, as I had to remove all the both coats from the table.
And put 1 coat on afterwards.
I let it dry for 24 hours and then put wax on with a brush.
Let the wax dry and then polished it with a cotton cloth till it shined.
I could have saved a lot of time if I would have put 1 coat of chalk paint on, let it dry 24 hours and then spread wax with a brush all over, let it dry and then buff with a cotton cloth until shiny.
Didn’t think the paint would be durable before I put the wax on, which made all the difference and made it look great and durable.
And thats without any sanding before painting.
I would definitely buy it again if I wanted to paint furniture.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWould recommend to anyone. Its fantastic. Brought a 2nd hand chest of drawers from Facebook and covered with no priming or sannding. 2 coats and it came out amazing. Was hooked so painted an old bookcase I had and covered that too. I then ordered a flat pack pine display unit so ordered another can and painted the whole thing black before I built it and its perfect. I have also painted a curtain pole, a fire surround, a window ledge and metal lamp. I still have 3/4 of the 2nd can left and looking for more things to paint!! Definitely recommend. Although if something is varnished sand lightly before you paint use to give it a key but still the easiest paint ever used.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used this paint to paint a stool. 1 coat was all it needed. I used the wax to help protect it too and it’s been about a month and so far so good.
    Very happy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPainted on beautifully, but you need to work fast as dries very quickly (within about 2hrs??). I left it 24hrs to dry further before painting a second coat, which I couldn’t get quite the same level of finish as the first application. Would recommend a little experience with painting furniture to get the best finish applying this paint. I used on an old Mahogony cabinet/unit. Looks a lovely dark grey- modern yet rustic vintage at the same time. Highly recommend.

If using again, will use a roller as it dried that quick I had brush marks. I’d prepared my surface with sugar soap even though it states you don’t need to sand etc, as long as surface is clean you can apply. I did find that until it was waxes the paint could come off easily if knocked. As doing a distressed look I didn’t mind so much. Covered grey with antique white and then sanded back the key touch areas.

Overall, semi happy with the result (didn’t help I was being rushed to complete it). If using a roller I think the result would be smoother. I also didn’t sand back between coats, I’d recommend to do this.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI used the graphite grey fo this project and blended it with some white to make a lighter grey. Used the light and dark grey to make a blended effect on the cupboard drawers. Then used silver gilding wax to distress it. All covered in 2 coats of polyvine varnish and then one coat of polyvine dead flat varnish. I love the outcome.
Only needed 2 coats of the graphite to cover a dark mahogany wood. The paint was a little thick, so I added a little water to thin it out. This also gives a smoother finish and less brush marks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent colour, great coverage

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt starts off a bit watery so needs a thorough mix before use. It goes on well enough with brush and roller, but does start to dry quickly (a few minutes) so if you go over an area which has started to dry it starts to pull the paint off and spoil the finish. I found it best to paint completely different sections while the previous ones are drying, then go back to them. The colour is spot on, and I’m happy with it on the whole.
