Excellent! Very happy with this product. I was bought baby gates from a family member for my son and unfortunately it was too small for my door frames. I was so upset as they were really good baby gates and upon looking at amazon, found this product. I am happy to say that now these gates now fit! So so happy with this. Thank you!
Perfect! We have a rounded bannister at the top of the stairs that I didn’t want to drill into. These worked perfectly. Thye are sturdy and good quality, even with my son shaking the gate, it doesn’t budge, keeping the gate secure and him safe. They were so simple to use, just put them in place of the flat ones that come with the gate.
Took a while to work it ou The instructions could be better. Took me a while to work out how to install it.
As others have reported you have to remove the plastic parts (where the bolts go) from the gate first.
But even then I couldn’t get the extension to fit into the gate.
After I looked at the photo on Amazon I saw that the top and bottom plastic parts are different shapes so you have to get the extension the correct way up. Once I worked that out I was able to assemble it quite quickly.
Did what I needed it to Note: Many people complaining about it not fitting, you have to remove a piece in order for it to fit in (I used the screw to just pull it out)
Used two to extend a gate by 14cm, 7cm either side. 12 or 13cm would have been perfect, but not an option, it still has a tight fit and works very well. I screwed it into the wall instead of using the strips to stick it to the wall.
I extended another gate by 7cm, but this was a little more difficult for me to install due to my staircase being exactly that width – meaning I had to leave out one of the (bottom) cups to screw into the wall. It is just as secure due to it barely fitting in.
Good purchase. Has a tendency to feel cheap though, which might throw some people off.
Exactly what I needed Have had this installed now for over a year and had absolutely no issues, needed to extend the gate for the top of our stairs and this did the job perfectly and easily
I don't recommend The extension gate if fine but they send wrong spindalrode so i have to find another one to go in screw so there was a faulty and i don’t buy from you again being late to send a stair gate
Pretty much perfect. Could do with being a touch more sturdy but otherwise great. Would recommend. If you have a larger door width I’d recommend two smaller ones either side. I used one large one and that is possibly the issue I have. Saying that though it still works!
Great value! Good price, very sturdy on stairs catch is a bit stiff but because it’s to stop dog getting upstairs it only swings outwards so I don’t need to click shut every time just close, that way cat can pull and push it open extension works perfectly too.
What price do you put on safety This safety gate extension comes in two sizes first I thought blimey thats a tad steep for a few bits of metal, but then, what price do you put on safety? So I removed a few frivolities from my basket and got both extentions. Now Im well prepared for wherever I need the gate, well I will be if I can ever remember where the safe place I put the other bit is :0) but yes definitely worth the investment.
Fits fine but Wish I didn’t have to buy this extensio Wish I didn’t have to buy this extension to the main gate and feel it’s a bit of a rip off for safety 1st to build a gate that doesn’t even fit a standard new build stairway which isn’t even that wide. Extension fits fine though
Good extender. Bought these extenders for three gates we had. They work well and do not stand out as an extender looks as though they are part of the gate. These were loads cheaper on amazon compared to many shops I looked at. It required a saw to cut down the plastic to fit the gates we had however I’m sure this isn’t the case for all the gates. Wasn’t too much hassle to put up.
did the job I wanted to move my safty 1st gate , to a wider erea , so needed this .
Thought it woyld just slot in , but i had to force it ,as it seemed about 1 or 2 mm higher
Once in did the job , secure fit so the dogs cant get through
Needed modding. Needed to cut to fit which wasn’t a problem for me but unexpected as it turns out this is the tall version so check first. Why then it was recommended with the none tall gate i wonder.
As with all extensions too it seems they make the gates deliberately smaller than most door ways so you have to buy these. This single bar was half the price of the entire gate, a bit like selling razors cheap and rinsing you on the blades. Suppose that’s a personal gripe over anything to son with the product though.
