IDobn't understand why water filters have to be so expensive!
I had the foresight to install this water filter in an easily-accessible cupboard above the fridge, so changding it is not too difficult…although the thin pipes and fiddly clips to attach the pipes to the water filter make it a bit of a task!
That, coupled with the cost means I only replace it – probably – once a year, rather than the recommended once every 3-months.
Afterall, it is only a bit of plastic tubing, sealed at both ends, with a carbon filter inside…Ite shouldn’t be so expensive…almost on a par with the over-priced Brita FIlters!!!
Genuine Samsung water filte
By buying this genuine Samsung filter you get crystal clear water with an improved taste with no water treatment flavour. I’ve tried cheaper filters but they don’t last as long or filter out everything . Just make sure when you fit the pipes in the ends they are pushed in straight & give a second push & secure with tiny clips . To get the pipes out switch water off remove tiny filter clips & push collars on end of filter down . Also the filter has an arrow on the sticker showing which way the water flows so whichever way it points that pipe goes to the fridge . Hey cool clear wate
Good, simple filte
You get what you pay for – these originals have always been consistent and have nice neutral taste. Bought a cheaper OEM before and the whole family noticed the taste change (for the worse) even though i hadnt told them I’d changed it!
Easy to fi
Worked a treat, we were given a fridge in need of a good clean and new lease of life, the filter was easy to install and we were back on after 10 minutes.

Easy to change and work a treat just remember to wash through thoroughly before using to drink from as the sediment has to wash through. All in all took about 10 mins as only had a small just and had to flush 10l of water.
Maybe other reviewers had issues because Of the way their plumbing was had been installed mine was a breeze
Good instructions to install
Liked easy installation but need to be more emphasis on the need to cut the pipe correctly so that the cut is at right angles with the filter, otherwwise it leaks and is of no use
I fitted filter with an isolating valve on each side of the filter as shown in pic, fitting was very straight forward less than 10 minutes to fit a new filter in with valves,i must stress the importance of making sure your pipe ends are of a neat and straight cut and make sure you push the pipe ends into the filter or joint valves FIRMLY otherwise it will leak.

Love these filters / the system in the samsung Fridge. No idea what it does, but it makes the best tasting water! Even had students comment on how our water tastes so much better than normal tap water!
Great price and easy to fi
Great price and easy to fit. These filters really do a great job as we found out the hard way after a plumber fitted the line in for the fridge to the incorrect water supply.
Minus one star because it’s quite fiddly to ensure that the pipes are seated correctly. It took me three attempts to stop water leaking out of the inlet side of the cartridge. Top tip – when you think that the pipe is fully in place, give it an extra push until you feel it jump forward about another 5mm, *now* it’s all the way in!
Genuine pa
Appears to be a genuine product. I am yet to install this as my current filter is still in use. If I have any issues with this item I will be updating this review.
This was much cheaper on Amazon than in the store where I bought my fridge.
It is a genuine spare from Samsung, and the quality is exactly the same as the one installed with my fridge initially, 9 months ago.
Now that I needed to replace the filter, I did it myself and it took only 5 minutes.
Beware: if you don’t plug the hose completely, it will splash black water all over the place! You can let the black water go into a container before completing the install, though, instead of having it run through the fridge pipes. Black water is normal at first, according to the manual (just like a Brita filter), but it took a minute only to get rid of it in the container, cleaner job and peace of mind.
Purchased again...no issues
This is the second time I have now purchased these filters.
They are good for around 6 months when the Freidge/Freezer will start to advise they need replacing.
Although you can get “other” filters for cheaper prices, the fact that these are genuine makes them better.
Good product and great service
Like all good men I left the re-ordering of the water filter to the last moment (the light on the fridge went from amber to red!) but I shouldn’t have worried as I simply went on Amazon found this supplier, checked it was supplying official Samsung products and purchased at a great price. It arrived two days later (I know, I’m cheap for not ordering express delivery) and it was fitted that evening. The hardest part was, once fitted, you have to run through the water for what seems like forever to activate the carbon. Hmmm? Now if I can just train the dog…….
