They are great for but not designed for Irish weather especially in winter months. I didn’t have any issues during the summer but in those short cloudy days they not getting enough sunlight to recharge the battery so the battery are always almost drained..
Had these up for two years now and they work really well. In winter we leave them on the setting that only switched them on when motion is detected.
In summer we leave them on a dim light that gets brighter when motion is detected. Two years on and they last all night on this setting.
Would definitely recommend and would buy again.
Have fitted these on the driveway and courtyard and now have light in these areas, very efficient and super sensitive at detecting motion. Just had to screw the in place and let the sun do its bit, then set them to the “program ” I wanted.
They are bright, they come on/off as necessary all night, they work in the middle of the winter. I have four and am buying some more for our large garden.
When I opened the box I was a little disappointed on the size, but left them in the garden for a couple of days for full charging. Then placed them to light up patio/decking area with some other solar lights, wow they are bright, to the point of I’ve removed some of the original lights and put them to light pathway up. Only time will see the longevity of them, but brighter than more expensive lights I’ve bought. Very happy so far.
I brought these lights two years ago. Loved them so much, I brought another 3 packs (one pack for my dad). Out of the 16 lights, only 3 have stopped working- although that was last years heat wave and they were in the hottest part of our very sunny garden where all our solar lights stopped.
I use the setting where they’re dimmed until movement is sensed, and a majority of them stay on till just before sunrise 5am , coming on again just before dusk.
They’re so bright and perfect for evenings in the garden. Our garden is 100’x45′ and they light up every little corner.
When dimmed they are still bright enough to see, but not bright enough to cause a nuisance to neighbours/front of house etc.
I’m considering buying more for my daughters garden and more in the front.
Bought these to add a bit of light at night down the side of the house. Put 3 of the 4 up. Two of them work great, however one of them is a bit hit or miss. Seems to be the way having read the other reviews. All in all not too shabby but by no means perfect.
Unfortunately two of the packs contained one light that doesn’t work properly. The PIR sensor on each of these two faulty units cause the lights to come on intermittently even when there is no movement. This drains the battery and the lights simply stop working.
It’s a shame as they are decent little lights and I’d have given these 5 stars otherwise. But two out of three packs containing a faulty unit suggests poor quality control.
I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately pledged to send out two replacements which arrived within a few days. These work fine so maybe I was just a bit unlucky or there was a faulty batch. The important thing is customer service and I have to say I’ve been impressed.
