Best value for money
10 bar WR, backlight, day-date, high quality strap are the best value for money. Not China for both watch and strap is also important for me. I want to swim so I’ve changed leather strap to blue silicone one. Looks good as well on my small wrist.
What! No battery availble?
A nice clear watch, but a big but – what happens if zfter say 15 months a new battery is needed and the CR2018 is still not available. Not a good situation. Im not sure whether to send mine back for a refund now while I can still get i

Personal preference will be your own judge. As for my view, the watch is extremely effective.
A simple single clock design. It’s robust, reasonably elegant, and neither looks or feels cheap.
All functions work well, however they are limited to day/date display, and a green glowing light.
The leather strap is a quality item too.
An ideal everyday watch for those who appreciate simple designs and ease of functionality.
Great second time(x) around.
Already had one of these watches for a number of years (more than 5 certainly). Bought a second for my wife to replace a heavier, more expensive, watch. She is just as pleased as I am with it. Decent size, easy to read and very handy light-up dial for viewing in the dark. Good leather strap and waterproof to 100m (which simply means you can use it for regular swimming without concern). Crystal operation so no battery (or at least I haven’t had to replace one in my first watch!!). Despite all the positives, still fairly light weight.
Would highly recommend especially at only 50 (ish).
Great watch. Sturdy strap and glow in the dark hands show clearly without using the face glow feature. Timex Customer Services were really helpful when I had a query about setting the date/day (me being thick!). Really pleased.
Had this watch for seven years. Wore it every day in heavy construction. Changed strap twice but the watch itself kept perfect time until just last week,would recommend to anyone looking for tough watch.
Love this watch got it for my wife as she likes a man size watch. She is delighted, it’s smart and sturdy and will survive her shopping trips. Nicely made and well priced
Good everyday watch
I’ve had this watch 2 months now & I’m very pleased with it. The watch itself is sturdy but not heavy. The strap is good quality and comfortable. The light is very handy. I would recommend it for everyday use.
Fantastic value for money
This was a replacement Timex expedition watch which I had for a long time fantastic watch if you work in the construction industry or similar working environment so tough and strong
Pros: lightweight, simple to operate, reliable time keeping, waterproof, comfortable strap. Indigo face illumination.
Cons: lightweight (personally I prefer a little more weighty watch), small (I have very thin wrists so I can get away with it but risks looking too small on some)
For what it is, it seems a little pricey to me.
Conclusion: overall a nice timepiece if you’re looking for a subtle adventure style watch.
I had an identical watch for about a decade. The old one is still working, but the now moth-eaten leather strap (worn in the tropics and in salt water) was replaced a couple of times during that decade. The Indiglo stopped working a couple of years ago and I couldn’t get it fixed. When I saw that it is available at a good price I shopped around to replace it and compared it in the market of available watches. If you want day-date and waterproof to 100m with the awesome indiglo feature, this watch is unique and has its own niche at a reasonable price. So now I have a new one and am a very happy customer. Timex: Keep this model going forever.
That the item works as described.
I haven’t tried the watch yet as it is a gift but it looks as I hoped it would. I have yet to discover whether or not the light function works. This is the main reason it was purchased for my husband who always wonders what the time is in the middle of the night! At the moment, I am judging it purely on looks and hoping for the best.
An easy to read watch
This is the second watch of this type I have purchased and I’m very pleased with it.
To enhance it’s usefulness a strap that is canvas type material with an adjustable Velcro fastening, would be better for me, as when using in certain conditions the leather strap is more of a hindrance., especially if your wrist swells in the heat of certain locations.
I bought this watch to provide an uncluttered, easy to read day/date. It does all that. The lighting on the face is triggered by pressing the crown wheel. Very simple and very effective.
The only disappointment is to adjust the day, it is necessary to keep winding the mechanism through 24hour periods. The instructions don’t explain this, but Timex provide a generic set of on-line instructions which is where I discovered how to adjust the day. The bezel doesn’t rotate, but this is not a problem for me.
The leather strap is well made and complements the appearance of the watch. However I will change it for a more practical webbing strap. Pleased with my purchase.
It's quite a nice watch, but...
Mine came without user instructions. That’s a nuisance, as there is nothing ‘out there’ that quickly zooms in on the issue. Contacted Amazon who agreed, offering a replacement (with instructions?). Too much faff! Seem to have worked it all out as it’s actually not too complicated (but then most things aren’t when you now how!). Appropriate instructions would have saved time (sic) and temper!
stylish and chunky
bought for my birthday and very pleased–it’s got quite a big face,easy to read and always like the indiglo feature -an option to see in the dark when required.Nice leather strap too and outer bezel is fixed so it doesn’t twist around.Arrived quickly too so prompt service.
Good basic watch .
No manual , very tricky setting dates , you have to figure it out for yourself , and it’s not straight forward . I marked it down to four stars as there are no instructions on setting the watch , caring for the watch servicing watch etc .
Great little time-keeper.....
….. a solid everyday time-piece that looks good, has a robust design & quality manufacture. I particularly like the back-light and luminescent hands features. Nice sized face with crisp easily discernable numbers and lettering…..day and date are easy to read also, I find. Keeps good time too. It’s a yes from me!
Excellent value for the price
My first ever watch was a timex on which I learnt to tell the time, this little watch is very nice and the leather strap makes it even more classier. You can’t go wrong with this little Gem from Timex. I would definitely recommend this little beauty. And the price won’t break the bank either.(Hopefully)
Good Value for money, robust, identical replaceme
I have ordered this as a surprise Christmas Present for my husband. It is identical to the one that he had for over 5 years which broke a few months ago. He ordered a cheap replacement from an online shop that frankly looks like a toy watch! Can’t wait to see his face when he opens the box!!
The watch looks great and is quite comfortable. Instructions would have been usefull. Not everyone has access to the internet all of the time. The DAY function baffled me for a while, but managed to sort it out eventually.
Fantastic Accurate Watch
This is the second one of these I have bought. My husband had the first for 7 years before my daughter got her hands on it and pulled the winder out. Not one problem with it in all that time – not even a new battery! Keeps excellent time and is tough and durable (he works in the building trade and wore it every day). No hesitation whatsoever in buying exactly the same watch again as a replacement and great value for money
Time to look smart.
I recently bought this Timex Watch, and so far i am very pleased with it. It comes with full instructions on how to set it up, albeit with the usual multiple languages! It has quite a good look about it, and i like the luminous effect it has. You can press the Dial on the right side of the Watch and it lights up with a nice Green glow! The Leather Strap is of good quality, which hopefully will last a few years. All in all, a smart Watch from Timex at a very reasonable price. A bargain. Well, what are you waiting for, go out and get one…….. Xmas is coming!
