VIC DIDN’T SETTLE. NEITHER SHOULD YOU.

Our journey began in the late 50’s/early 60’s when Vic Firth, a musician himself, was not satisfied with the variety of sticks and mallets he could find in the market. As the Principal Timpanist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, he started crafting his own sticks and mallets in his garage, meticulously poring over specs and details until he made exactly what he needed for his own feel and quality of sound. Sometimes he would whittle the sticks by hand, other times he enlisted the help of a wood turner. As word of his implements spread through his students and other percussionists, calls for orders from music stores started coming in. Vic’s idea that each drummer should be able to find their own perfect pair, and not simply settle for what’s out there, is at the core of our brand. Our catalog now includes over 200 varieties of sticks and mallets that range in length, taper, tip, and material.. all designed to help you find a match for your own feel and your quality of sound.

Vic Firth are great quality and are great for beginners and advanced players alike. They are durable and last a hell of a lot longer than the cheaper sticks. I’ll always go for these when I buy to ensure I get value out of my sticks.

After watching the little ones using the sticks supplied with their drum set, it was quite obvious something wasn’t right. They were not enjoying the kit, so I did a little investigation into something suitable for smaller people/hands. Who would think a stick could make so much difference? Well, I now know a drummer would. It is like night and day …and our new little drummers would agree.

Its clear when you start to play, that these are quality drum sticks. Great response, very hard-wearing and feel like they are part of my grip.
Don’t skimp. Pay a little extra for the right gear.

I have used these for 7 years and they are perfect! I really recommend for beginners as it has the American flag on it which helps with the hand placement of the thumb! Really recommend!

This product of drumstick is amazing. I use it to practice drums andd rudiments, the drumsitcks look very nice and smooth to hold and don’t slip out of you rhands when holding them. 5A drumsticks are my go to drumstick for practicing and giging.

These are my first pair of sticks so I don’t know what I’m talking about, but they seem good to me, and they are very popular which is why I chose them.
I wish I’d put Firtht pair of sticks, nevermind I thought it was funny.

I’m still only a beginner, but very pleased with these…
    Smooth comfortable finish.
Seems to be a useable balance and weight to the sticks.
Can’t really comment about durability yet, but they feel to be good quality, in my amateur opinio

These are maybe the best and most famous drumsticks worldwide, especially the 5A size. You get exactly what you know and what you expected but in cool black colour – this is why it is out of stock in many online shops.
The bundle of four comes gives you a great price per pair – noticeably cheaper than a single pair bought in the music store.
Overall – Best quality drum sticks, cool black look and very good price !

I’m just getting into drumming, and used a set of cheap Chinese ones, then got these. OMG what a difference! Hard to quantify, but they feel so good, are better finished and have more weight to them (but they’re not heavy)

I won’t use anything else now.

I’m too new to drumming to know a good pair from a bad pair but they seem pretty good to me. They are only let down by my lack of drumming ability…

Prompt delivery. Seems like a really quality item.
Bought two pairs for my sons and both very happy with them.
Really nice to by an inexpensive item that doesn’t say – made in China!

excellent sticks, a single pair lasted months.
note: they do work on electronic kits but I’ve heard they can wear down the pads faster. I haven’t noticed it much coming from nylon tips. dk, your experience may vary

I recently bought an electronic drum kit to try my hand at drumming but found the ‘as supplied’ sticks rather ‘clunky’ to handle. These are in a different league and are significantly easier to use.

I was very disappointed as I thought these sticks as are all my other Vic Firth sticks would be “WHITE” and not just natural wood!…. Unfortunately because of my disabilities (I also have ocd) so I won’t be unpacking these sticks!!!!….. Ken.

I’ve used various makes and weights of drum sticks over the years but these are the best yet. The nylon tip really brings out the ride cymbal and hi hats and the weight is suitable for most genres of music….Buy them you won’t be disappointed…..

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe Vic Firth 5A Wood tip is the “go to” drumsticks that I recommend to my students. They’re well made and feel great in the hands, always well matched and balanced.
Whether you’re new to drumming or have been playing for a long time you cannot go wrong with these great sticks.
They’re an excellent place to start, if they’re too thin/thick/long/short then you can easily move onto other sizes to find what you’re looking for.
I really believe it’s worth investing in a good quality pair like the Vic Firths rather than buying the cheaper sticks as these feel so great.

A pretty solid set of drum sticks for the price. Got these for 5 and they were definitely worth it. They are just like your average pair of drumsticks but a bit cheaper. The only thing that is a bit bad is the fact that performing rim shots or such do leave semi-deep scars on the point of impact but this is to be expected on most drum sticks and not generally a problem. This is a great product for those who are just starting out in drumming.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersSo I stupidly bought these drunk one night. (Yes I did need them) but here’s my story…

Ordering a new set of back up sticks.. What’s the one thing every drummer knows? Sticks come in pairs.
What did this guy do? He saw “quantity 1” and thought oh… They must be sold singular. I better put in 2.
Anyway less than a week later BAM!
NOW I HAVE 2 OF THESE GOLDEN FLAVOURED RAM STACK STICK BOYS

All jokes aside, that is my tale.
I will be adapting it into a novel.

Buy do you will. Sticks good are they

ONLY ODD THING WAS DIFFERENCE IN COLOUR, BUT MASS APPEARS EQUAL AND SO DOES SOUND (i’m 61 and there could be a slight difference in sound but it isn’t much) – AND PRINT NOT SMUDGED AFTER A FEW WEEKS ONE HOUR+ STICKWORK PRACTICE EVERY NIGHT – OVERALL REALLY NICE TO HOLD AND PLAY WITH, I STARTED WITH A MAPLE SET BUT LIKE THESE MUCH MORE, YOU GET FASTER THE MORE YOU GET USED TO THE HEAVIER MASS TILL IT’S HARDLY NOTICEABLE

i have only hit the drums properly a few times thru ought my life, and can only play a couple of simple rhythms, but i can say that these sticks feel amazing compared to cheap ones i have used. they are smooth, my only down side is that these were packaged wrapped in tape so i ended up having to cut the cardboard wrap open with the tape that was surrounding it. i guess its to keep the sticks together while they are in storage or something? so other than the wrapped in tape part they are fine.
i got these to use with my alesis loop pad and they seem up to the task, they have a nice balance to them and just feel amazing in my hand.
they were packaged in a large flat cardboard box the kind used for large flat items.

As a pro drummer I would normally advise for you to go buy your sticks in person and do the stick roll test (to ensure straitness and tone). That being said I took the gamble and bought sticks via amazon. I have now received 4 pairs of sticks via amazon and every single pair has been strait, with good tone and delivered in excellent condition. Price is highly competative and delivery excellent. To all drummers out there – DO NOT fear buying sticks from amazon as you will not be dissapointed 🙂 I will continue to buy my Vic Firth 5A’s from amazon. – A very Happy drummer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUnbelievable: package arrived two days early – it was meant for Saturday, came on Thursday – and in brilliant condition. Sticks are fantastic, have a great feel to them and are excellently weighted for any player (beginner or otherwise). My only qualm with this is that the packaging was more suited to that of a small TV: it definitely cannot fit through your letter box, and is quite unnecessary for a pair of drumsticks.

Aside from that though, there are no flaws at all. Five stars is not enough!
