The item arrived well-packaged and in good condition. A quick check against my own Starrett reference square showed that the alignment was slightly off which is typical of budget measuring tools. I de-burred the ruler and made a minor adjustment — (and if you don’t know how to do this, you probably shouldn’t be using one of these, anyway) — after which it proved to be ‘dead nuts on’.
The body of the square is made of cast aluminium. We can’t expect surface-ground working faces at this price point, and we don’t get them. However, I was pleased to see that all faces were at least accurately and tidily machined (see close-up photo).
Overall, this is a good-value little combination square for standard carpentry work. If there was a 150mm version on offer, I would probably buy that, too.
Yeah the edge is fractionally sharp (just an accurate cut), but it’s an adjustable square for a decent price, that’s actually square from the off.
Feels pretty sturdy and solid too, not flimsy or weak.

Bough for my sons work. He’s very pleased with it. However he gives this warning. As the rule is made of stamped steel the edges are very sharp, sharp enough to cut skin and he would recommend that they be filed to take the edge off.

Well made with clear markings on rule and a useful scriber ‘hidden’ in end.
Apart from a regular square it is a depth gauge in inches or metric.

It’s nice and heavyweight, beautiful polished finish on the machined edges and accurate to 0.003
@ 90 and 0.008 @ 45 when I calibrated it. Couldn’t ask for better at the price.
Pretty good quality it will do its job Fine only 4 stars as it had a scratch on the steel
through the ruler inch markings not a big problem for me but it should of been checked before packed and sent out.
