Bought this to help with A/V equipment in work, the ports are hidden behind massive TVs with this it is easy to attach a keyboard for troubleshooting the NUC or a Bluetooth dongle

I use this on my TV, that allows me to plug in a USB Hard Drive and watch movies, play pictures and music. It was awkard to keep going around the back of the TV, so bought this and just leave the other end loose at the front of the TV. Works great and so much more convenient.

Bought this cable to use with a desktop PC, to connect a portable disc drive which only had a VERY short lead
It did not like being connected to the USB sockets on the front of the PC, only displaying power light, and the PC did not recognise the portable drive.
However, when plugged in round the back, to a USB on the motherboard, it worked perfectly,
So! be careful where you plug it in!

Recently I’ve had a few USB 3 adaptors/extensions all of which have failed straight out the packaging with OSs failing to recognise devices attached via them. This cable is transparent and you’d never know the device was on the end of an extension – which is as it should be.
It does the job
It does the job, extends a USB socket which is what I needed.
It’s very thick though! Unnecessarily thick which makes cable management a little bit of a challenge especially across a 3m long desk.
Sometimes you find that the USB lead supplied with a device is just not long enough.
Not a problem most of the time that happens, you just replace with a longer lead (Amazon sells a few of them 😉 ).
But what about those times when the lead is physically attached to the device so you can’t just swap it out?
That is where this comes in so handy!
It is USB 3.0 (super fast data transfer speeds are kept if applicable) and simply acts as an extension cable.
Quality appears to be fine and my experience with Amazon Basics products suggests it will last well.
Overall, it is a niche product, but when required it is brilliant!

Worked as expected
Only used it once so far to act as an extension for a Web cam and allow that to be more mobile and move around a table during a gathering. Worked just for that.
Good quality USB 3.0
It’s just a cable so don’t know what I can write there.
I use this to connect with a USB Wifi adapter.
Can reach up to 125MBit/s. The cable is well screened.
I would recommend it for anyone looking for a long USB cable – should work well for SDD enclosure etc.
This is a great cable - it is a USB extension cable.
I use this for extending my charging cables for wireless gaming headsets as often either I use up all the USB ports with dongles or external storage devices with no spare port to charge my headset/s after the a long gaming session.
This cable is thick and long and connector has good grip – which is good for a solid cable connection.
It does say Amazon Basics which impresses me as for what I paid and the length of the cable along with the thickness, the sturdiness – it doesn’t bend at the connection points like many cheap thinner cables do or the wires break inside.
Yes, you read that right. Plugging a memory stick into my router makes my router’s 2.4GHz WiFi drop out. Unfortunately USB3 spread-spectrum techniques can overlap into the 2.4GHz band and cause interference in the same way that baby monitors, microwaves and cordless phones can (these are the usual culprits often cited in user manuals). Add to that plastic bodied USB memory sticks. By plugging the memory stick into the router via this cable and running it a few feet along the shelf that the router is on both can now co-exist quite happily.
Both cables work so review updated (before - It would be good if one worked as well as the other).
My previous review (below) said one cable didn’t connect every time. I have just found the reason.
The finest ‘hair’ of black plastic was caught in the socket of one of the cables – I just couldn’t see it. Once removed the cable works perfectly well. So now, as I think these are perfectly good cables for the price, I have updated to this review from 4 to 5 stars!

These cable appear well made but only one works with my various PC’s/Hard Drives and the other doesn’t; though it does for a few combinations (I haven’t yet tried them all) of PC/USB Memory Stick. So I think that one is out of certain tolerance(s) – possibly too much voltage drop over the 1.8 metre length, or a dodgy connection.
Pity, as these would be better value if both worked well.
Amazon Basics is golden for cables
I absolutly love amazon basics cables, why they say basics they are just simply put the only cables I really trust to work, I might try others if I cant find the right amazon one, but simply put, do not be put off by the name as they do the job they are intended for and a supposed to do. if your after a cable there is no need to purchase flashy ones just go for a amazon basics range and it will work 100%

The female part is amazing! The whole is perfectly carved into quality plastic, surrounded by some branding, and continues with a long, black, quality thin cable!
On the other side, i was impressed to find some MALE parts! This is interesting now!!!
The extrusion is sufficient to plug into the female part, but a bit short off what i’m accustomed when describing male parts!
It came clean, also surrounded by good plastic, and my wife was also impressed, mainly by the male end of the cable…

Good cables
Cables appear to be good quality, good speed and for a good price – especially this 2 pack.
Crystal disk mark for my Kingston DTR3 flash drive gave 209 MB/s read and 42 MB/s write with the cable in a back port of my PC. With an old USB2 extension cable i only got 40MB/s read and 27MB/s write. So it’s definitely allowing me to use the USB3 rated speeds of my flash drive. Overall very pleased with this purchase.
It works
I bought this as the PC it’s plugged into is under my telly in the cabinet, since all the USB 3 sockets are at the back of the PC, it’s a pain to keep moving the PC out of the cabinet to get access to them as it’s got tons of cables limiting the distance. so this cable has a female end which i can use to plug any USB HDD into it when i need and not have to move the PC out. Great!
Good wifi adapter extension solution !
If you just like me have only option to use Wifi and you are few rooms away from the transmitter every meter counts and can make a huge difference !
This applies to Wifi 5Ghz signal. Living on the upper floor with transmitter downstairs I was struggling to keep strong 5Ghz signal in my room so I though about trying a longer USB cable for my Wifi adapter (it came with 1m which was fine in the past before I moved).
So in my case I had a wifi adapter plugged into the back of my motherboard with the original 1m long USB cable and then I added the extension from amazon which gave me 3m total length and ability to find the best spot in my room for the signal. It worked well and thats all that matters.
The download and upload speed was improved due to the stronger signal.
A straightforward solution to stumpy USB leads
This house is full of USB cables powering a plethora of devices and gadgets. One such gadget, and one that has been one of my most liked reviews, is my Logitech G29 steering wheel for my PS4 and PC. In that review I highlighted the limited length of the USB cable that goes from the wheel to the PS4. It’s not such a problem for PC users as the wheel is usually set up close to the computer, but for a games console it’s likely that you’re going to be sat on a sofa away from the machine so the cable trails across the floor….or in my case is actually suspended like a trip wire because it just isn’t long enough.
This USB extension cable from the ever-reliable AmazonBasics range does just what I wanted. It extends my range from the PS4 and stops the wife or dog tripping over the cable every time they wander through the living room. Problem solved.

The problem started straight away
I gave a duo wireless charging stand that requires 25W to work, I gave the supplied plug and a 2m cable that supports fast charge
Using the extension and the cable the stand showed Red lights meaning it wasn’t receiving 25W, so I’m assuming it not Fast Charge compatible
Works for me with an external USB3 drive.
I bought this to easily plug in a WD external drive on the main home PC, which is a tower case on the floor. It has some USB sockets on the front, but the cables that came with the case are not USB3 compatible, so even connected to USB3 ports on the motherboard, they don’t give USB3 speeds. So I am using this plugged in to one of the USB3 ports on the rear. I didn’t want to be furtling about on my knees every time I plug the drive in (it’s used on other machines too). The lead on the drive is not very long anyway, but this provides an easy to get at socket and the drive performs at full USB3 speeds, so it’s working fine for me.
Wall-mounted TV users, this is the life-hack you need.
Simply put: I needed a cable running from the back of my TV that was long enough that I could access it from a nearby cupboard without having to reach round to the back of the TV every time. Many people use USB sticks for recording TV or playing movie/photo/music content, and I wholeheartedly recommend installing a USB extension cable to make your life so much simpler – especially if you have a wall mounted TV. Simply install the cable, then mount the TV and never have to worry about trying to fiddle around at the back again.
This extension cable, at 2 m, was perfectly long enough that I was able to completely hide away the cable and have some to spare. The cable uses USB 3.0 to read/write speeds are perfectly sufficient, even for playing 4K movie content through it (it also doesn’t suffer in terms of speed due to the large cable length, as is the case with a lot of long cables involved in high-data transfer).
The AmazonBasics lineup offers some pretty decent stuff, and the price of this extension cable makes it one of the best value on the market. Fantastic purchase.
I purchased this 2m USB 3 extension to extend one of my Oculus Rift sensors and it works perfectly. The Oculus Rift sensors are notoriously fussy with their USB connections so it’s a relief to know that this cable works fine and there is no poor tracking quality or lost frames being reported.
I also plugged in my USB 3 Samsung SSD in and tested/benchmarked that too and there was no drop in performance.
Like most other Amazon Basics cables I’ve purchased before they seem to be well made and feel fairly robust. This particular cable is a passive extension (so there is no repeater/amplifier inline) so there is very little to go wrong with it really.

There is nothing to complaint about it. It is not bad quality and at the same time it is not a wonderful product. As it is says in the label, it is Basics and I couldn’t get one such cable anywhere else in the shops. Thanks Amazon for understanding real customer needs. This is really handy as most of the modern TVs come with just one USB port and there is no way you can connect an external keyboard and an external hard drive without connecting an external hub and again, this cable is handy to connect a hub and then connect all different USB devices.

This cable as I got for the back TV now I can use it with my laptop USB it is very easy to use and got more speed.
The cable may be part of the ‘basics’ range, but it seems sturdy and good quality. It has the amazon basics branding on the connectors and the blue colour inside to signify that it’s USB3. Now I can quickly and easily plug in my USB memory stick and can get great speeds. I did a couple of tests using my stick (Sandisk 64gb extreme). With it connected to my old USB2 extension cable, I was only able to get read and write speeds of just under 36MB/s using a benchmarking tool. When I plugged the stick into this USB3 extension cable, I got read speeds of over 205MB/s and write speeds of over 186MB/s – blazingly quick compared to the USB2 speeds. Am very happy I USB 3.0
Works exactly as it is supposed to!
Well lets face it a cable is a cable, however this one just happens to be a good one. The quality is excellent and its good value pc world do them for three times the price. You may find that adding a hub is a good idea too depending on how your set up is. Amazon do a 3m one as well and unless its required for that actual distance it can be a bit too unyielding in tight spaces so this one really is a good all rounder and more importantly it does not effect the high speed transfer rate of usb 3.0.
Honestly I bought it as an extension for my phone charger and it works just fine for that.

Now I can sit in the corner with a fully charged phone and avoid social contact, whilst learning to hate myself like a real 20-something person.

P.s. I bought the 2m long one. For odd some reason this one was not available for next day delivery unlike the 1m and 3m versions. Maybe the 2m long delivery van was out of action that particular day.
Also have noticed reviews mentioning it does not work as a charging cable which I have not experienced with this product personally. These reviews appear to be in relation to apple products amusingly.
Versatile USB 3 extensio
I have several USB 2 extensions from Amazon lying around and they work great, so this was the obvious choice when I needed a USB 3 one for a USB hub, where speeds matter. It was a little expensive at 4 for 1M, but it is well worth it. It works great and is a lot more reliable than any other extensions I have used. It is also able to transmit power and data, which is a plus for my use, and probably most people’s uses.
These are also a cheaper option for lengthening charging cables, rather than buying a new cable, especially in the case of Apple Lightning cables, which tend to be relatively expensive even if they are third party.
The cable is thick, but not too thick, so it should be fairly durable over time.
Overall, a good USB 3 extension cable, which transmits power, data, and is durable.
Basic in name but not basic in quality. A sturdy, well manufactured USB3 extension lead made with good thick wiring and insulation. Bought it as an extension for my Asus Transformer TF300T tablet charge lead and it works perfectly for that. Was originally concerned that adding extra length to the charge cable in this way might push up the overall resistance of the cable and therefore make my charger heat up more due to additional loading, but no, if anything it actually runs cooler. Not surprising since the cable seems to use nice and thick wiring. Only niggle is that the cable is a little more inflexible than others but I just can’t denigrate Amazon for using good thick cable in their manufacturing. More than happy with this high level of quality at this very good price.

Like all digital products it either works or it doesn’t. This one works and is solidly built. It looks as if it will last a long time.
I would have given it 5 stars but for the prime delivery. I ordered it Monday morning, noting it offered free one day Prime delivery. As soon as I clicked the order button that changed to delivery in two days. On Wednesday I looked to see where it was and found it ‘was on it’s way.’ It arrived Thursday. THAT’ 3 DAYS – NOT ONE!
