surprisingly heavy and solid as I was expecting low quality for some reason due to the low price. Not a definitive set of spanners but it covers the usual suspects so to speak. Arrived well packaged and vac sealed. Comes with its own plastic rack to keep them in one place.

I can’t resist a bargain, and a set of 5 ratchet spanners for a bit over 11 is great value for me. I’ve got a set of Halfords “Professional” ratchet spanners, and these are much the same to look at and use, though without the lifetime guarantee and perhaps without the same quality internals, but for less than 2 per spanner, I’m not expecting Snap-On quality.

I think it’s a great little set and a great buy, though I think the sizes are chosen to leave you wanting a larger set. But for value for money, this 5-piece set is tough to beat! Recommended!

I used the spammers whilst dining some car repairs. They were just what was needed to tackle some nuts with restricted access. The ratchets have a positive smooth mechanism and work well.
I don’t expect to use them very often, I have a socket set for majority of work but I’m confident that when called upon they will do a good job for me. They were certainly good value compared to available alternatives. They come in a holder which is a nice useful little extra.

I have always been impressed with the whole Amazon Basics range. Available in two ranges, I went for the range with the smaller diameters. Available in imperial / BSA as well as metric (presumably for the US market). Quality of finish was in a polished chrome stainless steel. The ratchet mechanisms worked well with little ‘slack’ or backlash. I think these represent excellent value for money.

Covers a good range of sizes. The quality seems decent for the price. the ratcheting is good for everyday tasks but if you need something more precise then you nay need to spend a bit more

Well I was sceptical but these are pretty good. Amazing value. Bought to tide me over until I drop for a expensive set. As long as you don’t use for breaking loose stuck or rusted stuff you should be fine.

No marks for durability yet as I’ve not had them for long enough. They helped me with a fiddly job on my Nissan x trail brakes and held up to a good amount of welly. Not bad all things considered.
Pros. Good ratchet and strong.
Easy to use
Handy storage holder included
Price
Cons. Maybe not as tough as the premium brands but look at the price.

I bought these just to work on low torque applications (lawn mowers, kids bikes, garage fittings (the drive mechanism that raises and lowers the door always seems sloppy and trying to hold the door under tension down and shut, then release the Lock nuts to take up the slack and then reverse the process – not easily 1 on 1. Luckily someone came past and just turned the wrench (spanner) – all I had to do was tell them to turn the wrench over so it works in reverse – easier than explaining how to reverse a ratchet while holding a 300lb door agains it’s monster springs) so although some of the set have been used hard, they still had the power to lock the cable off which ties the chain to the gearbox but now it’s back against the chain I can put the spanner away and sleep tightly knowing I’m not going to be here all the day ! Can’t wait for a check up of the securing bolts in a week but they were done up well (and NO slipping around the teeth which is a concern for a set at this price – well done again Amazon :-)) Well Done

I bought this set of wrenches to work on my bicycle, and being a low’ish torque requirement I figured there was no need to spend the earth and they have similar handle lengths to those used in my local store.

The wrenches are actually good quality and should be adequate for the casual handyman task… however this is where I personally have an issue (and hence the dropped star) with this set in that the interval between the largest two wrenches (14mm & 17mm) misses some common sizes. That’s my fault though as it is spelt out in the description. Just know what you are likely to need.

The packaging and presentation are perfectly adequate. I’m not a huge fan of the plastic caddy. It may be fairly durable but I hope it’s recyclable. It can be attached to a wall if that’s your thing.
