Looks good and simple to use. Works like a tape measure and rolls up and can be used to locks bikes, luggage, anything up. Not overly strong because it’s lightweight but it will put an opportunistic thief off
I bought this Amazon Basics Retractable Cable Lock for an adult scooter to use while I pop into the shops. It fits neatly into my pocket and extends far enough for my use. The first click appears locked until you pull firmly on the cable, so push in a little farther and listen for the second click; then it’s locked properly.
Good little lock. Did what it says on the tin. Used for a week on a ski trip to give peace of mind when leaving the skis during Apres or to pop into shops. Won’t stop a determined thief but enough effective in stopping drunken skiers walking off with the wring skis or perhaps encouraging opportunistic thieves to look elsewhere. Can’t report on longevity as only used for a week but it worked without any hiccups all week in some rough conditions.
Works well, locks as expected, can’t understand how the mechanism works but glad it does, a little tricky to set up. Handy to lock things where you might need a variable cable length, though the wire isn’t thick so any moderately well equipped theif could easily remove it.
The rubber coated wire if attempted to be cut with scissors will hinder the retraction of the cord as we found out when we used it and someone tried cutting though it.
This lock was needed to secure a wrought iron gate and had to be flexible. It works very well although as we have
had so much rain recently, it is just getting slightly rusty. However with the application of some Vaseline this has been remedied. Recommended.
