    Like old Assassins Creed?
This is a return to form for Assassins Creed. Gameplay wise it’s more like the original and that is a massive plus compared to the 300 hour action RPGs of late that have ruined the franchise.
That being said they make a point of maintaining some of their features, some are improvements, some not.

I played this game on release and found a few bugs and a large lack of polish to the whole game.

The story was mid and the plot twists were unwelcome.

The best aspect of this game was definitely the setting. As much as the greater area was mostly empty the city itself was great.

A step in the right direction giving us the gameplay and structure we’ve missed for several years. But it’s not quite gotten back to that place yet.

Return to form for the franchise
Back to what makes the AC franchise so compelling, the Assassin’s.
Ive got no criticisms of this game at all, its the perfect length, doesn’t outstay its welcome and retains the magic of the classics in AC 1-3 but seemingly manages to build on that without compromise.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat game! Basim is an arrogant ass of a character.
Amazing game! Basim is as bad as it gets. From the very beginning Basim starts to turn into an egotistical assh*le. His ego grows and grows. To start with he is quite helpful and kind to the inhabitants of Anbar but as time goes on. Basim becomes more self absorbed with being more than human. Nehal is a cunning and bitter twat of an imaginary friend who’s only goal is to make Basim a more selfish kind of assassin and as assassins go that is unacceptable to the brotherhood. The creed comes before any individual pleasures and Basim wanted to see what he could become. Well, he does and the ending is awesome as Basim gets clawed for his antics throughout the game by Enkidu as the bird recognised that he became sometging else entirely. He was always destined to be Loki and Roshan should have ended him the moment she started noticing he was becoming more and more obsessed with finding out what secrets the artefact held about himself. It wasn’t to see if he could help others and he even insinuates roshan controlled him. Which isn’t the case. Basim to start with says that ” He is merely the son of a public servant who dedicated his life to the betterment of his people….. Only to slighted and forgotten. ” So all this crap about basim not being evil to start with. Not at the very start but Basim was already a bitter man and he became resentful even back in the Abbasid Caliphate days. Basim is a good assassin. Nothing special though. But compare him to Bayek of Siwa and Basim literally sucks in every way, shape and form. Don’t get me wrong I like what Basim stands for to start with. But as soon as he starts his stupid egotistical bs. That was it for me. Basim is so easy to hate and the game makes no qualms about showing you his true colours from the very outset. The game does have a decent story though. But basim is not a nice or well rounded assassin. He is a man who’s only goal is to be something more than human. Which should yell you all you need to know about his own hubris in that particular aspect. Basim is like that nice kid who won’t shut up about how much he should be this and that. Only to one day reach his goal and completely become a not so nice arrogant d’bag with one goal in mind. To be better than everyone else. That’s my 2 cents as to what I understood from the game. Basim was ultimately always going to be the bad guy as he wanted more than what being a human had to offer. Arrogance personified is what Basim is.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood game, even for the high price
As an older gamer with slower responses and less nimble fingers, the game was quite playable but still a challenge on the easy level. I managed to play the game all the way through which is more than I can say for some games which don’t take disabilities into consideration, making them impossible to play beyond a certain ‘boss’ point.

Can’t think of any negatives. Didn’t have any visual glitches or crashes which was surprising considering the game has just been released.

Maybe a couple of minor irritations:
    1. The investigations menu was a bit too stretched out. Too sprawling.
    2. If you forget to solve enigmas when you come across them it is usually too late to figure them out later when you’ve forgotten where you found them as they typically refer to the locality they were found. It might be useful if you could somehow subsequently relate enigmas to where you found them.

    A good game but...
I bought Mirage on release and it is worth the price I paid. The game is slick with a gentle intro into being an assassin, I like the way it introduces new skills.
The graphics are okay, I thought that the people seemed like the Assassin’s Creed I, I was expecting better robe movements but it maybe just me.
The story is entertaining and it does make me want to find out more.
In all a good game, though it does compete with my personal favourite AC Black Flag.

    Great nostalgia
Taking the Assassin’s Creed back to the days of Brotherhood and Revelations, flaws and all, Assassin’s Creed Mirage offers a nostalgic love letter to the stealth focused PS3 era glory days. It makes the incredibly stupid decision to put all of its plot into the final 90 mins, and somehow pulls that off.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersShortest AC ever!
If I had known it was going to be this short and kinda boring. Then I wouldn’t have got it. It’s not a bad game! But it’s definitely not the best AC so far. The making of it was rushed 100%, not much of a story to it neither. Overall I’m pretty disappointed tbf. But, at the end of the day it’s another AC adventure to get stuck into.

I’ve enjoyed every AC game and this is no different. Not a vast world to explore, but all the classic elements of gameplay. Graphics are beautiful, and I found it quite immersive. Totally different to Valhalla, that you sort of lived in! But more like the early games in the series. I like that you can set combat difficulty, I’m elderly, and my reactions are not fast so it’s an advantage to me. Text to speech is a bit grating, so turn that off unless you need every button explained as you hover over it!

Not as good as Odyssey, but not bad !
If you were expecting a classic like Odyssey it’s not, it is obvious to me that Ubisoft has made a game with less content and without the depth. I would call it a large DLC , after saying that I love the franchise and am willing to lower my expectations getting it from Amazon is convenient and good price.

Good game but too little gaming
First preorder for me, but ended feeling cheated. Loved the game, the graphics, the whole feel, but it was just too short…I was just getting into it when it was finished. Was hoping for more.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAn enjoyable game
The first thing I noticed was that it isn’t as long as valhalla was. Probably because this is a prequel to Valhalla. There are 42 main missions in total which isn’t bad at all. It took me about a week to finish it (playing for 4 hours each time). The missions can tend to be a bit repetitive if you play for long periods. The story is good and the ending is confusing. I had to use Google to work out what the ending was all about. I enjoyed the game even if it did seem like nothing new compared to the other games in the series.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersHow It Used To Be!
Completing Mirage has made me fall in love with AC again. The game is fully focused on being an actual Assassin, doing things stealthily and planning!

What is even better is that the notoriety of old days is also back. If a civilian see’s you committing a crime, they call for guards. The point you out on wanted posters if you are walking by. It’s exactly how it used to be at the start of the AC journey, and just how it should be.

As great as Valhalla was, it was just a stupidly long game about being a Viking.

Those who are complaining that it feels like a DLC because it only takes around 30 hours to complete, have clearly not started the AC journey when it was first brought to us (like I have). The length of the game is no issue at all. You can play for an hour and actually achieve something, whereas Valhalla for instance you could play for 8 hours in one sitting and only get a handful of things done because it was stupidly large.

AC games were always compact, and it’s how it should be. There are other games for mass open world stuff, AC doesn’t need to go back to that.

And a final point for those complaining, this game is half the price of most new PS5 games!! So you aren’t missing out on anything, nor are you being ripped off at all. I actually congratulate Ubisoft for the pricing because they could of easily made it 70+ like all other PS5 games, but they didn’t!

I’ve given it 4 stars, just because the fight scenes felt clunky and the fighting graphics felt like PS3 graphics. There is no gore like Valahlla had for instance. The scenery graphics however are beautiful.

The other reason for just 4* rating, is the free running controls sometimes don’t listen to what you want them to do. Just like AC2.. I actually think the same mechanics were used from the Ezio days.

Buy this game, its definitely worth it!!!

Firstly, the graphics are beautiful. Views from the tops of buildings are great. Movement, combat, tools/gadgets are all good, and it was refreshing to be able to install the game fully in well under an hour with no massive downloads and patches to have to install first.

That being said, this is no Valhalla. The storyline, varieties of weapons and armour, horses (or wolves), range of characters, and the huge maps on multiple worlds in Valhalla was nothing short of incredible to me – definitely one of the greatest games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. This is not the same. At no point do you even exit the animus. This is one map, and not particularly large at that, especially for a newly released PS5 game. Storyline is OK but not nearly as immersive as some of its predecessors. I can also see the game as a whole can be completed in less than half the time. But keep in mind this is also reflected in the price. 45 for a newly released game, compared to 65 or so. This is a decent game, good fun, and it’ll certainly give you many hours of gameplay – but it is not at the same level as others, and by the look of things, they weren’t trying to. I’d still recommend this to those who enjoy other ACs. You’ll still enjoy it. Just don’t expect quite as much.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBest AC game in a while
Unlike many other people, I really enjoyed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. Mirage is a welcome return to the old stealth formula though, a “true” AC title if you like, while still retaining some elements of the RPG titles in the series. Basim is a great protagonist and even though the world is way smaller than Valhalla, as you are confined solely to Baghdad, the map feels so much more alive. There is plenty to do and those of you who pre-ordered like me would really enjoy the Forty Thieves Quest. There is also an option to play with Arabic dialogue and English subtitles to make it more authentic, like using the Japanese audio in the equally great Ghost of Tsushima. Overall, AC Mirage is a solid title and I recommend it to fans old and new.

Received on time and perfect condition. I’m only 1 hour in and already this is a great direction for AC. Smooth combat and great see stealth back front an centre rattan than the bloat of the last 3 entries. This is what I have been waiting for and we’ll done to the small team of devs.

Def recommend if you like old school style with a sprinkle of new. Tight narrative and great combat with multiple ways to take your foes down. This makes you feel like an assassin again. Hands down best game since syndicate and so far great story and absolutely stunning graphics on the ps5 great value for money. Don’t listen to the haters try it for yourself.

I have been a fan of Assassin’s Creed since the first game and have seen the games getting better and better each year. I will be honest in that I could not get into Mirage to begin with, it took me several days of pushing through to finally enjoy the gameplay and storyline. I will admit that this is not the best Assasins Creed game that’s been made. The controls are pretty bad and fight scenes are even worse BUT at the same time, when you have levelled up, you can defeat enemies pretty easy with the right weapons. Graphics are {ok} but nothing like previous Assasins Creed games. Out of all of them, my firm favourites are still Odyssey and Origins. If you are an Assassins Creed fan then you might like this one but buy it cheaper if you can find i

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersA good game but there is issues
Just got the game today. I’ve got around about 5 hours into the story. So far it’s good. The combat and stealth aspects of the game are really good. The loot is promising and cosmetic looks are nice. You can tell they’ve spent time designing them. Baghdad the city is very well detailed.

Issue I have so far ( only played around 5 hours ) is that the story seems to drop at times to the point you zone out. Then it perks up again. Don’t know if it’s just bad writing or what?. The writing seems very child friendly at times , even though it’s a 18+ rating . Some assassination moves are bug e.g when you assassinate a guard by a crate or object it’ll launch you on top of that object for no reason.

The mission structure is horrible. You have to do around 3 mini quests to unlock the main quest. I hate this structure.

The mini map well bar is horrendous and needs to be improved. They’ve should have stuck with the AC2 upto black flag mini map.

Find at times when you are transversing through the city there isn’t any music? All you can hear is just back ground noise. Remember in AC2 when you visited different areas you got different music?. Well this doesn’t have it here.

Such a shame really. The combat , loot , cosmetic designs and secret quests are really good well thought out but the mission structure , writing and music hasn’t. I always say that music improves a game , film etc by at least 50%.

AC Mirage is a good game. Don’t get me wrong. I’m just stating what I’ve seen and played so far. Hopefully it gets better?.
