Doesn’t last long but does the job. Saved me a fortune by avoiding having to rip up my wet room floor, use with the dremel grout guide tool and use carefully, taking small cuts then deeper to avoid tool breakage. I used Mapei standard waterproof grout to back fill and no more leaking shower.

Due to the limitations of the narrow width of typical grouted joints the cutter is only around 2mm Diameter which means it is fragile and care is required during use not to apply excess pressure to avoid the tool breaking. Otherwise this cutter is very good and maintains the cutting edge.

Pretty good. I did some hefty work digging out grout between my floor tiles (3 square metres), expecting this to wear out quickly, but it lasted quite well. If I used it on wall tiles it would last ages. Good bit of kit.

The bit itself did work but wore out quite quickly and the dust produced gets into the Dremel unit causing problems. My cordless Dremel seized up, but taking apart and cleaning restored to working order, swapped to a corded non Dremel which also seized. Purchased a new corded Dremel but then found that a multi tool with old saw blade did a better job of bulk removal followed by fine detail with the Dremel. In summary the Grout removal bit works but not sure the actual machine is designed to power it.

Not the fastest of tools to use, and really works best if used with a corded (not cordless) multi-tool, but it does the job.

I think it depends how hard your grout is and how much of it there is to remove. I was taking out floor grout about 5mm deep and 3-4mm wide.

Perfect tool to remove old grout in your bathroom or kitchen, this tool is for the Dremel hand held tool and does the job rather than trying to use a cutting disc to try and do the same job.

Worked well, much quicker than hand rake. Removed grout from two large tiles and two border tiles in about an hour. Did not feel there was much life left in the bit after the four tiles. Used with cheaper Dremel guide which followed grout line quite well with a bit of care.

Does what it says. Needed it because the larger guage version, which is stronger, is to big for narrower grout lines. Bought this one to replace one which broke in use, so just need to take some care with it and use the larger version whenever possible.

Works very well if used carefully and precisely. Having read reviews suggesting that this product would snap easily and that you might need to buy more than one, I was a bit anxious about how it would perform. In the end, I needn’t have worried. The product works really well and is easy to use – either free-hand or using the stabilising tool for the Dremel (actually fits on another hand-held tool I have too).

The key here is to remember that the tool is mainly for taking out small amounts of grout that need to be touched up. If you were doing a very large job, you’d probably be better off using something like the Bosch grout removing tool. However, if what you need is to remove a couple of tiles or remove a small amount of grout (e.g. a metre or two at a time) then this is perfect.

Just don’t push too hard at the tip and let it do the cutting for you (suitably supported) and it won’t snap off as suggested by other reviewers. This is relatively easy for me since I use fine powered tools like this all the time for my work but is something that all dedicated DIY’ers should be able to manage too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad some spots of nasty grout that turned black that otherwise spoiled a spotless bathroom, bleach didn’t fix it and those silly grout pens only masked it.
popped this on the trusty dremel in a dry bathroom and just dremeled out the various bad patches like a dentist with a decay.
once in the groove and at 45degree angle the router type bit ate through grout at quiet a rate.

performance did slow after 50cm as the bit became worn but still went to complete my 1m job.
Be warned it ate easily into the tile only slightly easily as the grout.

I had both the 1.6 and 3.2mm grout bits and found the 3.2mm too wide cutting in tiles on both sides at the same time,
so if doubt get this one.

Does what is says on the tin. It saved me loads of stress trying to remove old grout. Take your time and let it go at its own pace and it will last a long time. It is not slow to do the removal but remember it is only 1.6mm diameter, so do not force it. It is certainly loads faster than any scraper or anything else, so if you have a Dremell and you need to remove old grout then this is perfect for the job.

I chose the Dremel for the grout removing drill, as I was replacing the border tiles in our bathroom. I ended up using two drill bits as the first wore down, I found the plastic part more of a hindrance than a help and discarded it. Overall I was pleased with my purchase, there was no damage to the plaster board and without the drill the job would have taken forever.
