Just using at home in my bedroom, works well for the electric guitar practice but I haven’t performed with this. It can be loud though so I think you could perform with it comfortably

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersYears ago I owned a “proper” Fender performance amp (a Princeton 112plus) but at 65w it was for gigs only really, I couldn’t get it above 1 in the house without waking up the neighbours. I sold it on when I quit gigging regularly. Out of the blue an old mate asked me to take part in an all guitar group performance and I said “but I don’t have an amp anymore!” – so I found this one at a decent price. I wanted a really simple plug in and play amp – no onboard effects or simulations ta!

It has a remarkably similar bright ‘Fender’ tone to my old Princeton, which was also solid state (not expecting vintage tube amp sounds at this price!). It’s pretty loud although I’m not sure if it could compete with a drum kit but for my purposes it’s been plenty.

The gain channel is a bit cheesy for me full on, but that’s not really my tone and if you do play with a lot of gain you probably have a pedal you prefer anyway. I found with a just a little gain I can get a nice bluesy bite with single coils. I guess this bright, twangy Fender sound probably isn’t for everyone.

It looks the business with the exact looks of bigger Fender amps. Seems really solidly built and the controls and knobs feel decent.

Drawbacks – a daft one: but it’s solid back so you can’t stash your lead, tuner etc in the back. If it had a spring reverb built it in you could really get some of those authentic fender sounds. Kettle lead rather than integrated mains cable which can get lost if you’re gigging (and you can’t stuff it in the back of the amp), although they’re not hard to replace. Headphone and aux in are handy for practice but a line out that didn’t disable the speaker would be a bonus.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a welcome addition to anyone who is serious about playing guitar, amatures, inbetweeners or professionals alike. It is compact and sturdy in size and retains all the qualities of its bigger brothers and sisters, and I know that if I searched every musical establishment in the universe I would not find better.
It is everything and more than what you would expect from an amplifier at the price with its 8″ speaker and 20 watts output, it will pack a punch, and live up to its reputation. for those that desire that clean cut Nashville Sound, or the mad rockers and Rolling Stone fans, who love the screaming tones, you will be equally impressed, as it has two independent channels which are set separately with a selector switch and a gain control to produce the necessary distorsion. I first plugged in my guitar just a day after arrival and it brings my Telecaster Custom to life like I was performing in a recording studio, and the sound does not in any way divert from the higher end of expensive amps on the market. This is a little gem that you will enjoy, from playing at home, to a jam session or in a recording studio. At such a modest price it is almost unbelievable, and far outweighs and exceeds the expectations of amp at the price. I am thankful that I am still able to retain my playing skills in my retirement years. I am both happy and fortunate that I was enabled to purchase this little beauty which is just tailor made and satisfying to my needs, on an offer from the amazon daily sales . Hoping all your dreams come through, Cheers!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m a beginner and this amp is perfect for me It’s allowed me to play around with the controls and get myself used to playing with an amp. As this amp is smaller in size it’s great as it doesn’t take up much room 🙂

Great little amp can’t go wrong with it for just home practising… I usually play peavey valve Kings and 6505s when we play…. But this amp is perfect when you can’t play at high volumes.. Shame that there’s no switch pedal but for the price and been bought for home practice only its great..

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersWell-made, good quality, has the Fender badge and sound, so I’m happy.
Only reason not 5 stars is that it doesn’t have any reverb and I forgot to check that before buying. Stupid, I know…
Also, there is no recess to store the plug & lead at the back, but it does have a velcro cable holder & tidy.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersBought to use with my Vintage VEC501 guitar. The amp worked well out of the box and has a 1/8″ input to allow connection of a music source to act as a backing track or similar. Volume is more than adequate for home use. Very pleased with it except that it amplifies all my faults too well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had a big Fender amp some years ago but it has moved on, as have my guitarist ambitions. My daughter has started learning the ukulele and I got bitten by the uke bug and bought an electric uke in Strat style. Looking around I found this little amp and bought it from GAK, whose service was excellent.

The amp is really small and cute – you can look at the dimensions and realise it’s small but when it arrives it really is small! It has no hum or hiss at usual levels of use, although you may get hum if you have a poor guitar lead and let it dangle near the amp, as it will pick up the transformer field (as it would with any amp, not just this one).

The sound is nice and punchy and you can get some distortion sounds with the overdrive section. I’m feeding it with an electric uke and it’s fine. When I say electric uke I mean a Strat-style shape, solid body with four strings and magnetic pickups and proportionally smaller than an electric guitar. I did try it with an electro-acoustic uke (which is a standard acoustic uke with a piezo pickup inside) and it didn’t sound so good but that was probably due to the budget quality of the piezo pickup.

I’ve also tried it with an electric guitar and it sounds good as well. Well worth the money!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersGreat little amp! If like me, most of your practice is done in a lounge or similar, you want to be able to play around and have it so you can hear it, but too loud and you’d get complaints from neighbours! This is perfect, you can add overdrive and turn the gain up, really makes it sound grungy and mucky, I love it! Solid too, you can tell it’s well made. You can connect a MP3 or mobile phone into this amp too and play along to any song, can use headphones as well. You don’t get any cables with this amp, if you’re new to guitar playing and buy a guitar and this amp, you will need to pay a cable too!
