At half the price of the “official” valve, I thought I’d give it a go. Installed easily and feels “secure” in operation. No more drips so happy. I’ll update this review if the drip returns, but for now I’m happy!

My franke zurich tap has been dripping from both the hot and cold for a while now. Googling around I found that is it’s leaking from the spout it’s cartridges I need. My concern was, which cartridge was compatible? Other online retailers specified a franke model change around 2013 and said you need one cartridge for pre 2013 and one for after. Other guides said the only way to be sure was count the splines on the spindle, etc. I was reassured by the write up in this product description where they said that this cartridge fitted all franke zurich taps. I thought I’d take a chance and buy it and it fitted great. My tap is the one with the screw down collar at base of the spout. Perfect drop in replacements and tap is like new.

Probably, I could have exchanged just the rubber sealing to stop leakage, but using this full cartridge was much easier. Although, described as exchange part for Franke Zurich, it worked for me on Franke Athena.

These seem little better than those replaced and getting the threads to align close enough to enable the taps to sit right is a challenge. But easy to fit and price wise ok I guess compared to others but if they are an inferior product the price is misleading.

I delayed my review until my friendly plumber had fitted these cartridges which I had ordered onto my 10 year old kitchen tap to make sure they worked. I was worried that for some reason because of the age of the tap they might not be compatible but they were successfully fitted in a few minutes with no problems at all and now I have NO DRIP. Thank you very, very much and I would most certainly recommend.

A “drop in” replacement which fixed our dripping Franke Danube tap.
Despite this I was originally considering giving a 3* review as the threaded hole for the “tap retaining screw” (the bit which holds the tap handle onto the cartridge) is larger than on our old valve and there were no new screws included.
A few days after fitting, however, customer support got in touch to ask about my experience. I told them about the screw issue and they sent some out immediately.
Definitely good to know an Amazon supplier who actually cares about their products. Will be using them again if/when we need more parts in future.

Easy enough job to do. Only complaint was that the original screw in the spline was just too thin to use in the replacement but an alternative has been found and now job done with tap handle firmly fixed back on.

It took me quite some time (and lots of googling) to get the tap handle off.

Once I did, the old cartridge was easy to remove. However I then found that the brass bush (which is a separate part) was stuck solid onto the old cartridge. The bush is required in order to fit the new cartridge into the tap. As I didn’t have any new bushes, this meant that I had to order some online (from a different company) and wait for 3 days for them to arrive. This was made worse by the fact that my previously dripping tap was now totally leaking when I put the old cartridge back on in the meantime, so I had to turn the water supply off for the cold tap, until the new bush arrived.
It would’ve been great to know that the Bush sticking onto the old cartridge was a thing that happens often, it would have been even more great if I could’ve ordered one of the bushes from tap spares UK via amazon prime! Please start selling the brass bush tap spares UK!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was a bit apprehensive about changing the hot and cold kitchen tap cartridges as I had never done it before … To be honest, the most difficult part was finding and turning off the water supply to the hot and cold … These were under the sink and I had to empty the shelf first before turning off the valves with a screwdriver … I didn’t know what age the tap was and was worried as there are two types … However, the write-up said the replacement parts would fit either types so I bought the parts … They were so easy to change and only took a few minutes which included cleaning out the insides of the tap … With everything reassembled, I turned the water on and NO DRIPS … I am very pleased with the results and if I can do it (at 82 years old) then anyone can do it … Getting up and down was another story, but a cushion on the floor lessened the thump as I got down … Is it’s an easy job.

Went in really easily (once I figured out how to turn my water off ). They seem like the same quality as the original valves so you have no concerns there. My drip has completed stopped so I’m a very happy bunny.
One thing I would say is this……I see a lot of comments saying the levers don’t line up when they are fitted. Mine were off centre too so if that happens, take the lever cover off again and tighten or loosen the valves a tiny bit (either hot or/and cold) until they DO line up. Might take a few minutes to get tight but it’s simple to do.
